Had to reinstall os ,and cannot access itunes although backed on time machine help

had to reinstall OS last july after exel update installed virus  and cannot access itunes although backed on time machine help

You should still be able to recover your media through iTune's "open" feature:
Connect your time machine drive and navigate to it in Finder.
Open the backup.backupd (or similar) folder.
Pick a recent date (folder)
Pick through to your home folder
drag the music folder onto itunes in the dock
Hope this helps, It might not be very clear.

I have windows 8.1 and cannot access itunes store even creating a new apple id. With other users on the same computer I can access itunes store. How can I solve this?

i had the same problem before using a fresh install of Windows 8.1.  I have resolved this issue by running the program compatibility wizard.  This I did by right-clicking on the iTunes icon in the desktop, selecting Troubleshoot compatibility, waited for it to detect compatibility issues and when presented with the following options: 1.) Try recommended settings; 2.) Troubleshoot program, I chose the latter.  When asked what problems I noticed, I checked the following: "The program worked in earlier versions of Windows but won't install or run" and "The program requires additional permission"
After that, it tired to resolve the issue, and provided the necessary settings to run iTunes.  Now it's running flawlessly.  I have Avast anti-virus installed though.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the page that opens.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Try the action that you're having trouble with again. Post any messages that appear in the Console window – the text, please, not a screenshot.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Edit it out by search-and-replace in a text editor before posting.

  • Cannot access any older files in time machine

I Upgraded MacBook air to Yosemite. I had a backup using time machine and the backup disk shows that 32 GB is still used by the backup file, however, I cannot go back to any files before the date I installed Yosemite.
Anyone knows how to access time machine files in a different way?
    thanks for any help!

Uh, June 25, 2013?  Is that a typo, or has your Computer's date been set wrong?
Assuming it's a typo, do the older backups appear in the Timeline on the right, but faded-out and you can't select them?  If so, see the pink box in Time Machine - Frequently Asked Question #15A.

  • Accessing itunes playlists settings from 'time machine' backups

I accidentally changed the volume levels on many tracks and want to access the settings I had on some playlists before, but not loose the new ones done as of late. CAN ANYONE GUIDE ME THROUGH HOW TO DO THIS PLEASE.

After reinstalling OS X and setting up an account, do as follows.
In the Finder, press the key combination shift-command-C, or select
    Go ▹ Computer
from the menu bar. A window will open showing all mounted volumes. Enter Time Machine. All snapshots should now be accessible. Select the one you want and navigate to the files you want to restore.

Cannot access itunes store from itunes - says to check internet connection.  I have internet connection.  I've unistalled ALL itunes files and associated files, and reinstalled?

    Try this:
    1. Settings>General>Date & Time>Turn off set automatically
    2. Set date one year ahead
    3. Go back to iTunes and try again.
    4. You will get the same error.
    5. Go back to settings general date and time and turn back on 'set automatically'
Try connecting to iTune Store again.

  • HT1351 I recently had my hard drive wiped out by a virus and had to reinstall windows and itunes. When i hooked up my ipod it didnt automatically sync my songs on my ipod with the library. How do I do this manually?

I recently had my hard drive wiped out by a virus and had to reinstall windows and itunes. When I hooked up my ipod it did not transfer my songs from my ipod to my itunes library. How do I do this?

iTunes syncing is generally in one direction only, from the computer's iTunes library to the iPod.  You cannot use iTunes to transfer song files from iPod to computer (except for songs purchsed from the iTunes Store).
However, there are third-party methods and utilities that can transfer from iPod to computer.  If you do an Internet search on something like "ipod transfer," you should get some links.  (The CNET article seems to be popular.)
Once the song files are on your computer's drive, you can add them to your new iTunes library.  (Going forward, you should use a backup strategy, and include your iTunes data in what gets backed up.  Then, you would be able to recover your complete iTunes library, including things like playlists and ratings.)

I also can get them on my Android Samsung Galaxy note 2 with no problem but on the Macmini cannot>/? I Unsubscribed and subscribed many times but still no luck, any ideas? I am waiting for the senior advisor to get back to me on this issue.
