Had to restore iPod Touch and it left me without my photos - HELP! :~(
Had to do a restore, synced and backed up before. However after the restore the apps, videos, and music are back, but I've lost all my photos. Any help that anyone can offer would be GREATLY appreciated!
If you didn't make a back-up of your music/movie purchases to restore from (as you are advised to do) then I'm sorry to say that the policy on lost purchases is that you have to pay to download them again:
"Products may only be downloaded once; after being downloaded, they cannot be replaced if lost for any reason. Once a Product is purchased or rented (as applicable) and you receive the Product, it is your responsibility not to lose, destroy, or damage the Product, and Apple shall be without liability to you in the event of any loss, destruction, or damage" iTunes Store: Purchased content can be downloaded only once
Purchased applications can be downloaded over again, see this article for details: How to redownload purchased applications from the App Store
You could try contacting iTunes Store Customer Service and you might be able to persuade them to sanction a second free download. There have been occasional reports in the iTunes forum of this happening, however just be aware that they are not under any obligation to do so. The computer where i always sync to and stuff got a virus the other day so i reinstalled windows which deleted data on the computer. As a precaution i restored my ipod (no backup) and everything seemed fine as i checked for any left over data. The ipod had the home page and the search page. Then i decided to get some apps. I signed in, pressed install button for textplus(first app on the clean ipod) and then it started loading. However, next to the loading textplus app there was the app "The Oregon Trail" which i know i did NOT install. "The Oregon Trail" is paused and not loading but the picture of the app is different from the one in the app store. I am convinced this is a virus because not only does it look different from the app store version and i ended up on my ipod without permission, it also takes up more memory than the app store says (around 350mb). I've restored multiple times and the same problem comes up again and again and again. Once i let the app load and then deleted it, but when i check i only have the same amount of memory than bfore. Does this mean i cant download any apps because of this corrupt app?????
Try:
- Powering off and then back on your router.
- iTunes for Windows: iTunes cannot contact the iPhone, iPad, or iPod software update server
- Change the DNS to either Google's or Open DNS servers

- For one user uninstalling/reinstalling iTunes resolved the problem
- Try on another computer/network
- Wait if it is an Apple problem

Has anyone had to restore ipod touch 5g
i bought a blue ipod touch 5g 64gb on november 30th on ebay brand new sealed in box and got it on december 3rd. i have reset it to factory settings atleast 3 times because after putting some songs on it and after a few days i go to play a particular song and it would play another song instead hence me resetting it to factory settings and this was after updating it to ios 7.0.4 when i had to reset one time a patch to the ios was downloaded to fix that issue and i had to reset it last night i am just wondering. my laptop runs windows 7 an my all in one desktop runs windows 8.1. when i first reset it to factory settings i used my laptop but now i use my desktop due to it having a larger hd capacity
well, it would be with all the songs that i have on the ipod touch at that time, but i haven't had any syncing issues yet with ios 7 i think the syncing and with the wrong song playing might both be related to ios 7, but what i'll do is redownload all of the songs that i have in icloud plus reimport the other songs as well just in case

New Update led to restoring ipod touch and music wont synch now
I updated the latest ipod touch software, and itunes 10. During the process there appeared a fault and it restored my ipod from a back up done today. All well but I cannot get music or films to synch. It is fine with apps and podcasts, playlists but everything else is blank!
Try manually placin the iPod in Recovery Mode and restore via iTunes.
Next try DFU mode and restore

- If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
- You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.
- If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
- Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
- There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it unless you had iOS 7 on the device. With iOS 7, one has to enter the Apple ID and password to restore the device.

I need some major help!
My iPod Touch has been misplaced by me. It has a passcode. I have it set to where it automatically asks to connect to Wi-Fi when around the Wi-Fi, but since it has a passcode lock, I doubt that will happen in the lock screen. I put it into lost mode on Find my iPod/iPhone, but it's pending and must connect to Wi-Fi to begin anything I remotely do.
Can anybody help me out?- The FindMyPhone app only allows you to locate one iOS device using another iOS device.

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

IPode Touch and Internet - thinking of buying can you help
I am considering a purchase of the iPod Touch. I have the 80gig classic.
I want to use it as a hand held organizer to track my embroidery threads that I have (or need) patterns I have and such as that. I forget what patterns I have and I just found out I now have 5 of the same thing! YIKES! Also, I would like to be able to access email, or the web, but totally confused how this works. Is there a monthly fee involved? how much? who services? etc. Also I store about 200 photos on my iPod classic, is this a quantity that I can store on the touch? I also have the Epson PhotoFine with a 3.8" diagonal screen that has a 30 gig capacity. I really would like to be able to eliminate all these "gadgets" help sell me on the touch.

1)For your threads, there is a Notes application, where you can manually enter any information on what looks like a notebook page. you can have as many of these as you need.
2)There is an email client, where you can pick a service you use such as yahoo, gmail etc. and the touch will update your inbox either when u want, or every 15 min. or 30 min. etc.
3)There is a safari application, which is the internet browser created by apple. this browser is exactly the same as it is on the computer, not a simplified mobile version of the web. you can search any website that doesnt have flash on it and pinch to zoom in and out to read text easier.
4)There is absolutly no fees for internet or mail on the touch. However it only works in WiFi spots.
5)The touch can easily store 200 photos, it can actually store thousands with no problem all with a beautiful touch display. u can pnich to zoom in and out and literally flick through your pictures.

I have tried 3 times to restore my itouch to update to ios 5.0 and now I am getting error message. "ipod could not be restored. an unknown error occurred. error 1611" ?!?! does anyone know how to fix this?? I now have no access to my ipod. it is stuck on screen with itunes icon and plug!

im trying to figure out wat can i do about my ipod i got some months ago from the apple store i had a new one and crack the screen went in to the apple store to get it fix but ended up having to pay a hundred dollars to get a new one now this one shuts off to the home screen when using it and the battery keeps dieding.

I believe it's 4th gen - it does have a camera (hence all the photos).
I don't want to update it to the latest iOS since I'm concerned it will slow it down too much, but it is running 5.1 I believe.
I have a Windows 8 PC and have just installed iTunes, and iCloud panel. Photostream doesn't seem to import old photos, though I've tried this route. I can't find the "enable disk use" button in the new iTunes, and when I try and open the iPod through the start menu I just find an empty DCIM folder.

I have had to restore my Ipod Touch and now I can't connect to anything on it. When it asks for my Apple ID it comes up with an error message and says that it can't connect to the server. I have checked my WiFi connection and its connected.

Apple only may, because it was jailbroken, exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for this price. They do not fix yours. Contact Apple to see.

It's the 5th gen iPod touch and each song has the cloud symbol next to it that I can tap to download from the cloud onto my iPod but I don't want to have to do that for over 1000 songs so how can I do this all at once? I've already tried syncing my iPod with my library hoping that will help, as well as transferring purchases.

Had an ipod touch and an iphone in iTunes. Spouse added their iphone and it deleted/ignored the first 2 (ipod touch and iphone). Deleted iTunes from computer, reloaded to start over. How do I "reverse" sync my iphone and ipod touch?? Do not want to lose all the info.
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
