i would like to have your opinion on this matter
i purchased a macbook pro 45 days ago
and i noticed recently that the lid does not close flush with the bottom part of the unit.
so i broght it to the apple store to have a look at it
they asked me what happened, i answered exactly like this:
-i think i have never noticed because it is not 100% apparent to the eye but i never dropped my laptop and as you can see there is absolutly no DENT at all
the co worker named yoan did not believe one word from what i said and told me:
-i will exceptionnally replace the screen for you
i was like what?
-i only had it for 45 days, are you going to make my laptop 1/2 original half rebuilt?
i said no way that i spent $1500 to have my laptop rebuilt after only 45 days, so i asked for an exchange given that my macbook has NO SCRATCH whatsoever.
from then on,they have never looked back to my suggestion of exchanging my laptop and they kept telling me,all i can do is put a new screen to it (VERY FLEXIBLE!!)
SO ALL I WANT IS YOUR OPINION POPULATION!!
i escalated this to 4 managers that kept saying the ONLY 1 SOLUTION that is written on my case
i am willing to attach pictures to show how unfair the apple co workers were to me.
i had not a single scratch on my laptop and i think that MY ONLY MISTAKE was that i did not realize this in my 14 days of purchase (apple refund policy)

please feel free to send me your opinion by email or ask for pictures as i will send them HD to prove that i was duped by apple
this was my 5th apple product and if i can have YOUR OPINION on this, i want to know if i am willing to do business with this company in the future or im i the only one that is missing something here.
my justification as to why i did not want to change the screen lid is the following:
-i like to preserve originality of my items (especially if i paid $1500)
- i have experience in the past where i had an iphone 4, and when they changed the back glass they had blocked the flash from working properly

You had 14 days from the date of your purchase to inspect your MBP and exchange it. After that time expired, the window of opportunity for an exchange closed. You are now a candidate for a warranty repair, which has already been offered to you. All of the foregoing is standard Apple policy and practice, applicable to you and to everyone else. But you don't trust Apple to repair your new machine. Where would you be if it actually had a serious problem?

If you can't access the App Store from the Apple menu, Dock, or Applications folder installing the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo will reinstall the App Store for you.
It's ok to do this even you are already running v10.6.8.

When the system status says icloud is OK but logon reports "encountered an error when connecting to the server", where do you report the problem, or how do you connect?
Yes i am hoping staff here will look into things, even if i can not get the speeds back what i previously had for near 6 months it would be nice to know why i can not and why the download has dropped by around 10Mb and why my upload is now inconsistant.
Ironically the post concerned got edited because i actually posted the full rather silly reply the Indian call centre made babbling on about down rates rather than the uprate i queried with them.
Bit of a shambles really no real way on BTs web site to contact anyone with regards to broadband issues.
The form which you kindly suggested and i appreciated your help ended up in the hands of someone who either did not bother to read the query or just had such a poor grasp of English they did not understand the query.
Pretty pathetic really when BT are the largest telco in the UK. I think ill be taking my broadband business elsewhere regardless at the end of my 18 month contract, while im sure staff here are wonderful and may even yet help me, i do not particularly want to go through the almost like pulling teeth pain of getting any future issue looked at.
They are great at quickly fixing voice line problems and have a great test on their site. Broadband side of things and support for that though seems a shambles. -
Is it possible for your iphone to be hacked?so that someone can text message people in your contacts (and send pictures)? If so can you trace the hack and how can you stop it?
As has been said, the iPhone itself can't be hacked this way, as far as anyone currently knows.
Your Apple ID is another story. Any kind of online accounts can be hacked, and Apple IDs are no exception. If someone hacks your Apple ID, they could see all the data in the associated iCloud account, such as contacts, and could send those contacts texts that would appear to come from you. If that were to happen, you should see an alert on your other devices that your Apple ID is being used with Messages on a new device.
If you have not seen that alert, it's unlikely that this problem is occurring due to such a hack. In that case, it would be more likely that either someone has gotten their hands on your phone, or some other Apple device registered to your Apple ID, and has used it to send that message. Or that the person claiming you sent a picture is lying for some reason.
If you believe your Apple ID may have been hacked, you should change your password immediately (at appleid.apple.com). You should also seriously consider enabling two-factor authentication on your Apple ID. -
I downloaded Photoshop CC 2014 last week and every time I open the program, I get an error message that reads "Adobe Photoshop CC 2014 has stopped working" and it forces me to close the program. How to I resolve this?

My intent was to report that there was at least one other user encountering a similar problem. It occurred to me that Adobe might be interested in determining the scale of a problem which causes one of their best known products to fail to run quite so completely after a clean install
I also see that I misreported the OS I'm running - its Windows 8.
If there is further information I can provide which might be helpful in determining a solution, if someone could be specific about what would be helpful, then I will try to respond appropriately.

The X230 has Intel HD 4000 graphics support built in to the processor. Windows was pretty stubborn about refusing driver updates, but I just managed to get drivers from the Intel site to install and Photoshop is now running, so hopefully I need not try your patience any further.
In case anyone else has a similar problem and stumbles on this the way to install the driver that worked was to:
- download the zip version of the generic driver from Intel
- use the 'have disk' option in the windows dialog to install the driver - other paths in the UI did not work with windows refusing to install the driver. -
My Ipod disabled when i'm trying to restore that, its showing as "an error is occurred can't restore the ipod". How can i resolve this problem
Are you sure that that was the complete wording of the error message? Usually an error number or other information is also included.

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copy of the track and try redownloading a fresh one. See the following document for instructions:

Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the item, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item. -

I have just changed my telophone provider in the UK from )2. To transfer the number, which I wanted to retain, took 24 hours and I was given a new number by the new provider Virgin Mobile. To unblock my iPhone I had to connect it to iTunes, which recognised my device and changed the telephone number. 24 hours later, my old number returned but iTunes won't recognise the device or allow me to change the number back to the original. How do I reslove this?
Many thanks ;-)If you only changed the name of your ID rather than creating a new ID, just go to Settins>iCloud and tap Delete Account then sign back in with the new name. (Deleting the account from your phone does not delete it from iCloud. Your data will be synced back to your phone when you sign back in.)
If you created a new ID, you'll have to go to Settings>iCloud on your phone and turn all data you are syncing with iCloud (contacts, calendars, etc.) to Off. When prompted choose to keep the data on your iPhone. (If you are syncing iWork documents with iCloud, also open your iWork apps and turn off iCloud syncing and choose to keep the documents on your phone.) After everything is turned off, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account. Next, set up a new iCloud account using your other ID, then turn syncing for your data (contacts, etc.) back to On. When prompted, choose Merge. This will upload the data to your new account.
You won't lose any photos in your camera roll or photo library. If you have any photos in your photo stream that are over 30 days old that are not in your camera roll or saved on your computer, be sure to save these to the camera roll before deleting the account. To do so, open the photo stream album on your iPhone in the thumbnail view, tap Edit, tap all the photos you need to save to select them, tap Share, then tap Save to Camera Roll. -

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

You can change it in Settings > Sounds > Ringer and Alerts (or with the buttons on the side of the phone if you have "Change with Buttons" turned on in that same section of Settings > Sounds).
Note that this change is not specific to the Alarm -- it will change the volume of incoming calls and other alerts as well as the alarm.
I have found it works better for me to set the sound at the volume I want it to be for incoming calls and then to find an Alarm sound that works best with that volume level. Without changing the volume, some Alarm sounds seem louder or quieter (or at least more or less irritating). You select the sound when setting the alarm and the sound selected will then be the default on future alarms. -
When I tried to create and apple id using my gmail account i found that somebody has already created an apple id using my gmail id. So I gave forgot password option and reset the password of the id. But for resetting the security questions, link is going to some other email id which is created by the other guy. Now the problem is that the other guy also can reset my password and access my account.
I contacted apple customer care and they are not ready to help me saying that I need to give information about the last device I logged in using this id. How can I give it when I did not create it?:) Also they are saying this account has been verified and that could happen only if someone has hacked my gmail account and verified the id using the link sent by apple.
Later I did some experiments and found that this is a security flaw from apple. Somebody has created the id and never used it(I tried to loggin to icloud and it was saying this account was not used it any apple device). The account became verified when I reset the password.(This is a bug, account should be verified only when we click on the verification link sent by apple).
The other mistake apple did is that they allotted my gmail account to someone before it's verified eventhough it cannot be used unless verified. Actually apple should allot the account id only after verifying the email address.
Apple customer care is not ready to help and I am tired of fighting with them. Can any of you guys suggest any means of getting back my gmail id to use it as apple id?I don't think you're going to be able to. I would guess the other person used your address by accident, and when he found he couldn't access the account (because you'd changed the password) he abandoned it. Your GMail address is now locked to that account and even if it was changed you can't use it to create another.
You already have an Apple ID, which you use to log in here; you can use that to create an iCloud account if that's what you are trying to do. If you want to create a different Apple ID just get another free address such as a Yahoo one. -
After my iMac has been asleep for sometime and I wake it up there is a grey screen with a load bar running at the bottom, but I can see the sign in page in the background. It eventually goes to the sign in page but it still takes a minute or so before I can actually sign in as well the mouse and keyboard are froze during that time as well. One it unfreezes the iMac seems to work as usual. What is going on and how do I resolve?

It sounds like your computer is unresponsive and the screen is grayed out with a loading bar and is unresponsive for a bit. From what you describe it sounds like you are seeing the computer wake from Safe Sleep. Here is some more information about what that is and why it is happening:

Safe Sleep ensures that data stored in main memory will not be lost should the computer shut down due to the battery being drained completely . Prior to your computer entering sleep, Safe Sleep automatically saves the contents of main memory—such as desktop settings, open applications, and other work in progress—to the hard drive.
There are two situations in which a computer will enter safe sleep:
In the event the battery becomes completely depleted while the computer is asleep, the computer will shut down. But when a power adapter is connected or a freshly charged battery is installed, the computer can be restarted. Press the power button as if turning the computer on and it will automatically return to the desktop state that existed prior to entering sleep. This means that applications and files will remain exactly as they were prior to the computer being put to sleep, making it easy for you to continue with your work.
With the release of the OS X Mountain Lion v10.8.2 supplemental update 2.0, a new feature was introduced to enter safe sleep after four hours of the computer being connected to AC power. This is an effort to comply with the European Energy Standards (ErP Lot6). This will only occur if there is no wireless or Ethernet activity and no activity from external devices such as USB storage devices.
