Hadoop source sample server to work with

Hi,
I wanted to understand HDFS source in Power Query. In that case, can someone please help me to get
a sample Hadoop server containing HDFS files so that I can connect and work with it. Some sample servers I found were restricted or stopped.

We are planning a upgrade of a SP2010 farm to 2013. There has been a bit of customization so we wish to run the old sites on the new SP2013 platform in SP2010 compatibility mode.
So my question is will Office Web Apps Server 2013 work with the old sites hosted in compatibility mode?

According to your description, my understanding is that you need to know whether Office Web Apps 2013 is working with SharePoint 2013 sites which is in SharePoint 2010 compatibility mode.
For my test, Office Web Apps 2013 with SharePoint 2013 sites which is in SharePoint 2010 compatibility mode is working fine.

Sample plugins not working with Netscape 7 on Solaris 8.

I'm trying to build a scriptable plugin for deployment into Netscape 7
and Solaris 8.
I finally got mozilla 1.4.1 built under Solaris 8 and deployed the
plugin from modules/plugin/tools/sdk/samples/simple. By deployed I
mean that I copied the libnpsimple.so file to the netscape plugin
directory and copied the .xpt files to the netscape components
directory. I even removed the xpti.dat file from the netscape
components directory so that it will get regenerated when netscape 7
is started.
I started up netscape 7 and checked about plugins and I find the
simple plugin in the list of enabled plugins. So far, so good.
I open the test.html file in modules/plugin/tools/sdk/samples/simple
into the browser and click on the version button and I get an alert
box that displays "undefined". Also, if I reload the page netscape
crashes.
I also tried the scriptable sample plugin with essentially the same
result.
Does anyone know what I need to do to get a sample plugin to work with
Netscape 7 on Solaris 8.
Some help would be very much appreciated.

Wireless print server that works with Macs and Epson R1800?

Hi,
I'm looking to buy a wireless print server, which I could use as if the printer was connected directly to my Mac. So basically, it just needs to have printing over IP port (like port 9100 on HP JetDirect) and drivers for Mac OS X (or ideally, no special drivers needed at all). Devices that do sharing of the printer only over LPD (older Unix), SMB (Windows), IPP (Cups / newer Unix) or similar protocols is not what I'm looking for here.
The reason why LPD, SMB and IPP are not an option is that I'll need utilities such as Epson Printer Utility to work over the network too.
It looks like Linksys, Belkin and some other have products that allow access to the printer over port 9100 (standard HP JetDiret's port) as if the printer was connected directly to the computer. However, for the most part I was able to find only success stories for Windows users.
Windows has standard driver that allows connection to the printer to be easily switched from USB port to network port. Does OS X comes standard with that feature, or is the special driver needed?
Most importantly, has anybody had success with printing from Mac through wireless print server (any brand) to Epson R1800? Did the Epson Print Utility (checking the ink levels, checking and cleaning the head, etc) work? Any special drivers needed?

direwolf has hit the nail on the head - the Epson driver won't work for IP printing. The Epson driver is a Carbon driver, where they build the comm protocols into the driver instead of enabling use of the standard protocols on OS X (that are part of the CUPS system). You'll need a CUPS driver to use the standard network protocol(s). The printfab driver is a CUPS driver.
Exception - the Apple Extreme/Express/etc print servers have firmware that make them work like Macs - Mac-to-Mac sharing works with USB-only drivers! I hesitate to recommend the Extreme/Express, because Apple can't seem to get all the kinks out.

Having access to Server when working with PT

What benefit is it to have the server inhouse of the company (you have the server inside of the company and you do not have a external supplier) when you work with performance tuning?

As Sean said, in most cases it doesn't matter.
You might have some issues if you try to run profiler on your workstation watching a remote server interactively, but you shouldn't be doing much of that anyway. Run profiler down to a disk file, or RDC to the server and run it that way, and
you're fine.
Similar case if you try to run some DMVs that return a bunch of data, that might be a little slower coming back down the line from a remote server.
Just so you have the proper access, which can equally be denied even if the server is right next to you.
I haven't actually used a local server in several years now, either.

Will Mavericks server ever work with windows 7?

I want to buy a new content server for our small business. Today we use snow leopard server on a Macmini and it is running stable, but we are growing and need to have a faster system and faster diskaccess and I have been looking at a solution with Macmini with thunderbolt pegasus raid. On the paper it looks really interesting, fast and it would be great for our small business! ....BUT.. I have read tons of forums with people having problems with windows compatibility.
We use both Mac and PC in a small environment and the most IMPORTANT thing we need is a shared disk that work flawlessly with both windows and Mac. I do not need lots of other osx server features as mail, ftp, etc etc...
So, Will Maverick server ever work as a content server with windows 7 professional client computers? Or should I go for a windows server (I rather not since I do not like windows)? Or maybe a NAS-server is a better sollution for content sharing/shared workdisk?

Exchange Server not working with Mac mail

Any tips on how exchange can work work with mac mail? I get connection errors.

Can anyone recommend a NAS media server that works with iTunes 10.5?

"Providing interactive database lookup from forms" sample doesn't work with Acrobat Reader 7

I have downloaded and tested the Adobe sample "Adobe LiveCycle Designer 7.0, Providing interactive database lookup from forms". Everything works great in Acrobat Professional Full version, however, when I tested it in Acrobat Reader 7.0.5, it generated a "script failed..." message.
Did anybody have the same problem? You can download the sample from here:

Database connectivity is a feature supported in Acrobat only , not Reader--unless the PDF has been extended with Adobe LiveCycle Reader Extensions.

500 Internal Server Error - Working with Web Dynpro

When i try and and run the test from :- Support Desk- Web Dynpro Test Tools-
Portal Navigation, the following error occurs:-
500 Internal Server Error

Smb server dont work with Lion

Hello everybody,
I have a NAS IcyBox NAS5220 configurated with SMS Server that stopped working when I upgrade to LION.
I have other MAC without Lion and the NAS work very fine. The Lion give a error message " I don´t have permission to open this file".

I thought NTFS write was OK as soon as it is a Windows OS shared drive - at least I never had any problems writing to a shared NTFS drive on Windows Server 2003.
You should also make sure that the username that you use to connect to an NTFS share has full read/write rights.
That's all I can think of, unless some Apple gurus can figure out your smb error message.

Can you provide a detailed description of how to set up the Websites portion of 10.9 server to work with AUSST?

I've followed the instructions but can't get the ausst-server.local site to appear in my browser.

Can you give more details about the error message and describe your setup when you receive them? Also, here is a great article on different synchronization options with HSDIO devices. This should answer some of your questions.

Mobile server not working with Oracle9ias Release 2.

I have installed Oracle 9ias Release 2 and installed Oracle Lite 9i 5.0.2.0.0 with patch 5.0.2.8.0 The problem is I can run the mobile server in standalone mode from the command prompt, however I can not get it to load via the http server. I have loaded wtgias.conf in the httpd.conf and changed the settings in the ompn.xml file.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I am new to MS SQL Server 2005. We have developed the OLAP Cubes on SQL Server Business Intelligence Development Studio with its integration with Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE).
The backend query is in MDX language. Now if I need to run that query I need to access the MDX Application, rite?
So need to know how to connect to MDX application.

Administration Tool: File - Import - "from multidimensional". There you choose "Provider Type" = "Analysis Server 2005". You specify the URL, user name and password. Then you can import MSAS cubes just like Essbase ones.
