Hai to all.A small query
For example we are having two tables i.e.,
Emp Dept
Empno Ename Sal Deptno Deptno Dname Loc
7782 clark 2450 10 10 Accounting Newyork
7566 Jones 2975 20 20 Research Dollas
7900 Clerk 950 30 30 Sales Chicago
7839 King 5000 10 40 Marketing Boston
7499 Allen 1600 30
7788 Scott 3000 20
But we have to get the output as follows
Dname Ename sal
Accounting king 5000
Research Scott 3000
Sales Allen 1600
Marketing None NA
How it will come.I used left outer join with Nvl function in it also.But i am not getting this type of output
And what is the logic?
Can you confirm what the query is meant to show?
What have you tried so far?
Post code and data in code tags for clarity.

Have 2 airport extreme base stations connected in chain. Airport utility shows slave unit without power. However, power is on slave unit, but status lights do not show up at all. Small green lights at each back port blink. Anyone have any ideas?
Unfortunately, you are describing the symptoms of an AirPort Extreme with a failing (or failed) internal power supply.
As a last resort, try a Factory Default Reset on the AirPort Extreme as follows:
Power off the AirPort by pulling the power cord
Wait a minute or two
Hold in the reset button first, and keep holding it in for an additional 8-10 seconds while you simultaneously plug the power back into the AirPort
Release the reset button and allow a full minute for the AirPort to restart
Now try to configure the AirPort again. If you continue to see the same symptoms as before, the AirPort will need to be replaced. -
Drill Down with Union ALL in a query
Why when i use a UNION ALL in a query or some sentences of SQL the drilldown disappears ? Does exists a special syntax ??
A query example:
SELECT DISTINCT CASE T0.[ObjType] WHEN '13' THEN 'Factura' WHEN '203' THEN 'F. Anticipo' END AS Documento, T0.[DocNum] AS NumDocumento, T0.[DocDate] AS Fecha, T0.[NumAtCard] AS Referencia, T2.[DocNum] AS 'Ref NC',
T0.[DocTotal] AS TotalMN, T0.[DocTotalFC] AS TotalME, CASE T1.[TaxCode]
WHEN 'A2' THEN '15'
WHEN 'A1' THEN '10'
WHEN 'A0' THEN '0'
END AS '%IVA', T0.[DocRate] AS TC FROM OINV T0 INNER JOIN INV1 T1 ON T0.DocEntry = T1.DocEntry LEFT JOIN ORIN T2 ON T1.TrgetEntry = T2.DocEntry
UNION ALL
SELECT DISTINCT CASE T0.[ObjType] WHEN '13' THEN 'Factura' WHEN '203' THEN 'F. Anticipo' END AS Documento, T0.[DocNum] AS NumDocumento, T0.[DocDate] AS Fecha, T0.[NumAtCard] AS Referencia, T2.[DocNum] AS 'Ref NC',
T0.[DocTotal] AS TotalMN, T0.[DocTotalFC] AS TotalME, CASE T1.[TaxCode]
WHEN 'A2' THEN '15'
WHEN 'A1' THEN '10'
WHEN 'A0' THEN '0'
END AS '%IVA', T0.[DocRate] AS TC FROM ODPI T0 INNER JOIN DPI1 T1 ON T0.DocEntry = T1.DocEntry LEFT JOIN ORIN T2 ON T1.TrgetEntry = T2.DocEntryCarlos
When you use the Union Clause you will not get the Drill Down link button. You may try creating a view of your Query and then Create a new Query in SAP joining the View and the SAP table containing the link data to get the links.

Small query on methods of classes
Hi,
I have a small query abt calling methods in oops...How will we get the exporting,importing and exception parameters when we r calling the methods manually without the patterns options ????Well, the best way is of course to use the pattern, but you could also view the signature through SE24.
Transaction SE24
Enter class name, click display/change.
Click on methods tab.
Click your method.
Click the parameters button.
This will show you the signature of the method, including the importing, exporting, changing, and returning parameters.

Small query i Need ...
hi
i need a small query..
here four columns are there..
i want to need .between in two columns like
u_month between and u_empid between
May i know how can i write the query...
select U_empid,U_month,U_year,DocEntry from [@PR_OREIMCLM]
where U_empid between 843 and 846 and U_month between dec and apr
u_empid u_month u_year Docen
843
DEC
2013
1
827
FEB
2014
2
846
APR
2014
3Hi,
Could you try this,
select U_empid,U_month,U_year,DocEntry from [@PR_OREIMCLM]
where U_empid between 843 and 846 and
U_month in ('Apr','May','Jun','Jul','Aug','Sep','Oct','Nov','Dec')
If U_month is datetime datatype, then we can use like
select U_empid,U_month,U_year,DocEntry from [@PR_OREIMCLM]
where U_empid between 843 and 846 and
substring(DATENAME(month,U_month),0,4) in ('Apr','May','Jun','Jul','Aug','Sep','Oct','Nov','Dec')
or
select U_empid,U_month,U_year,DocEntry from [@PR_OREIMCLM]
where U_empid between 843 and 846 and
month(U_month) between 4 and 12
Hope this helps you...
Thanks & Regards,

Help required on UNION ALL for select query
Hello all,
The execution plan for an SQL is impacted when another SELECT is concatenated with a UNION ALL. The two SELECTS are very efficient when run separately (< 100 buffer gets), but when run together (using a UNION ALL), the execution plan changes (for the first SELECT) and the buffer gets jumps to over 45000!
what customer says with the UNION ALL, Oracle instead of doing a Merge Scan (that allows the inner table to filter out the rows from the outer table), chooses to do a NL join. This results in a Unique Index scan for each one of the 15000 rows in the outer table, resulting in 46000 consistent gets.
Can you please suggest customer why plan changes when they use UNION ALL & also suggest better way of running query.
Please refer to below explain plan .

Business Objects is not returning all rows from Query
We set the rowcount to 1000000 and the business objects query only returns 16,960 rows. We then uncheck the limit for the rowcount and the first run of the query returns 65,535. The subsequent run of the query returns all the rows which is greater than 65,535. We are on release 6.1A of business objects and selecting from Microsoft SQLServer 2005 in 2000 compatablility mode. We noticed that the rowcount being sent to SQLServer is replacing the set number with the 65,535 the first time the query is sent and subsiquent queries have the correct rowcount set. What would be causing the rowcount to be reset and how can it be fixed?

How can we avoid union all in this query.....
Dear All,
I have a query which has union all.I want a query with the same result without using union all.Can anyone help me?Here is my query.............
SELECT DID,
DM.DISTRICT_DESCRIPTION "DISTRICT_NAME",
MID,
DM.DISTRICT_DESCRIPTION || '(D)' "MANDAL_NAME",
200706,
'SD_OB' "EXP_CAT",
SUM(NVL(AMOUNT,0))-SUM(NVL(AMOUNT1,0)) "AMOUNT" FROM
(SELECT SUBSTR(AC.PCC_INFO_CODE,3,2) "DID", SUBSTR(AC.TRANSACTION_ID,6,2) "MID",NVL(SUM(AMOUNT),0) "AMOUNT", 0 "AMOUNT1"
FROM ACCTD_CLAIMS AC
WHERE TO_CHAR(AC.CLAIM_DATE,'YYYYMM') <= PREV_MONTH(200706)
AND AC.HOA_ID='18 '
AND SUBSTR(AC.TRANSACTION_ID,1,3) <> 'CRR'
GROUP BY SUBSTR(AC.PCC_INFO_CODE,3,2),SUBSTR(AC.TRANSACTION_ID,6,2)
union all
SELECT SUBSTR(AC.PCC_INFO_CODE,3,2) "DID", SUBSTR(AC.TRANSACTION_ID,6,2) "MID",0 "AMOUNT" , NVL(SUM(AMOUNT),0) "AMOUNT1"
FROM ACCTD_CLAIMS AC
WHERE
TO_CHAR(AC.PAY_DATE,'YYYYMM') <= PREV_MONTH(200706)
AND AC.HOA_ID='18'
GROUP BY SUBSTR(AC.PCC_INFO_CODE,3,2), SUBSTR(AC.TRANSACTION_ID,6,2)), DISTRICT_MASTER DM
WHERE DM.DISTRICT_ID=DID
GROUP BY DID, MID, DM.DISTRICT_DESCRIPTION;

You can write a pipelined function, which will be about ten times the work. Its best to use the simples tools; why don't you want to use UNION ALL since its probably the best answer? -
Interactive Report with union all in the query
I have an interactive report with the following query in the report region:
select property,saddr1,upostdate,sotherdate1,journal_control-1000000000,account,sdesc,uref,
suserdefined1,trans_notes,samount,detail_notes
from journal_entries
union all
select property,saddr1,upostdate,sotherdate1,journal_control-700000000,account,sdesc,uref,
suserdefined1,trans_notes,stotalamount,detail_notes
from charge_entries;
This gets translated as listed below during runtime. I am trying to pass a value to both SELECT statements instead of the just the bottom select statement. Is this possible using interactive reports.
select
PROPERTY,
SADDR1,
UPOSTDATE,
SOTHERDATE1,
ACCOUNT,
SDESC,
UREF,
SUSERDEFINED1,
TRANS_NOTES,
SAMOUNT,
DETAIL_NOTES,
"JOURNAL_CONTROL-1000000000" "JOURNAL_CONTROL-1000000000"
from (
select property,saddr1,upostdate,sotherdate1,journal_control-1000000000,account,sdesc,uref,
suserdefined1,trans_notes,samount,detail_notes
from journal_entries
union all
select property,saddr1,upostdate,sotherdate1,journal_control-700000000,account,sdesc,uref,
suserdefined1,trans_notes,stotalamount,detail_notes
from charge_entries
) r
where ("PROPERTY" = :APXWS_EXPR_1)
0.14: IR binding: ":APXWS_EXPR_1"="APXWS_EXPR_1" value="prop1"
Thanks for any help,
JimThe bottom query is actually the third query, it encompasses the two that are unioned. It is generated by APEX to allow for the search facility - to achieve what you want ignore the larger query, and get your query working in something like SQL developer. Once it's working then put it into APEX, and the search wrapper will be generated.
select property,saddr1,upostdate,sotherdate1,journal_control-1000000000,account,sdesc,uref,
suserdefined1,trans_notes,samount,detail_notes
from journal_entries
where property = :YOUR_CRITERIA
union all
select property,saddr1,upostdate,sotherdate1,journal_control-700000000,account,sdesc,uref,
suserdefined1,trans_notes,stotalamount,detail_notes
from charge_entries
where property = :YOUR_CRITERIA;
Then you need to think about how you are using the report, if it is linked to from another report, then create a hidden variable and pass it from the parent.
If the report is standalone , then you could create an item , that can be edited and when submitted, re-executes the report based on the criteria entered.

Hot and bothered in sunny Dubai -
hi friends,
is there any way to get the list of all SUNDAY's dates in the current year through a SQL query.
Thanks before hand.The following procedure might help:
procedure qry_date(rec_set in out sun_dt) is
declare
dt date;
cur_yr varchar2(4);
begin
select to_char(sysdate,'YYYY')
into cur_yr from dual;
dt := to_date(cur_yr,'YYYY');
/* dt now contains 01/01/YYYY */
/* detect the first sunday of the year
and insert the date into database */
loop
if to_char(dt,'DY')='SUN' then
insert into all_sunday_dates (dt);
exit;
end if;
dt := dt+1;
end loop;
/* extract all sundays for the current year and insert into database */
loop
dt := dt+7;
if to_char(dt,'YYYY') <> cur_yr then
exit;
end if;
insert into all_sunday_dates (dt);
end loop;
commit;
open rec_set for
select dt from all_sunday_dates;
end;
The in/out parameter type 'sun_dt' is a ref cursor and all this stuff needs to be defined in a package; -
Hello All,
When I am trying to execute a query, i see the following buttons 'Execute', 'Check', 'Save Variants', 'Load Variants', 'Delete Variants', 'Personalization', and 'Cancel'.
But another user can see an additional button 'ALL'. When is this seen? and what is its significance...
Regards,
KPKP,
The "All" button appears when the values for one or more fields have been personalized. Clicking on this button will display the "hidden" fields and their values, and the button changes to "Free". Clicking it again re-hides the personalized fields.
Hope this helps...

I have read up on the forum re producing an NTSC dvd from a Pal file and taken on board the suggestions re compressor & nattress etc. One quick question though. A friend of mine who shoots in Pal and produces dvd's in both pal & ntsc says he simply nests and exports the Pal project using QTconversion, sets up a new NTSC sequence and imports the qt file into it.
I have tried a small clip this way and if I look at the new clips properties in QT player, it appears to display as the correct frame rates etc for NTSC and seems to play ok.
Is there something very obviously wrong with this method? I am assuming so as otherwise everyone would use this method.
I think my friend is working on the basis that he says FCP will happily handle a mix of PAL & NTSC in the same timeline so switching is not a problem?
Confused?All my movies/DVD are short ones then I use the Natrress plugins with very good results. It works inside FCP. It's a time consuming process, but you can leave working alone as heavy renders.
About how to test reaults, I don't find any other option that using a real NTSC TV. I'm sure you can find some models there with both standards PAL and NTSC.
Don't judge the conversion in the computer monitor because you need to check there is no problems with interlacing/scan. -
Newbie's DNGs are all really small
This may be a FAQ (I couldn't find an answer however) but my DNGs (which are from my Canon 20D, a supported camera) are all showing up as tiny images (256x171). If I open them in an external editor, they're still tiny.
I'm running version 1.1.1 (no change in DNG behavior from 1.1)
Any ideas?
Thanks.I started DNG-ing all my NEF files when CS2 and Bridge came out. I am not certain if I will continue with that workflow or not. Converting the file to DNG doesn't make it into a universaly usable RAW as I mistakenly thought. I have been experimenting with NEF vs. compressed DNG files to see if there is a performance difference and the results are not clear on my small test batches.
For an Aperture based workflow the only advantage to a DNG file is that it can be compressed (losslessly) to about 60% of original size. It would be great for workflow reasons if this RAW to compressed DNG conversion could be done after importing to Aperture. To speed up workflow I could bypass the DNG conversion at import time and start editing my images right away; later I'd convert batches of RAW files to DNG during idle times when there is not much going on (while I'm sleeping). -
