Hairline crack in touch screen (not the glass) in Xperia Z1

I have a 5 month old Xperia Z1 mobile phone which has never been dropped or knocked. On removing it from a padded pocket in my bag I noticed that the touch screen under the glass has a diagonal hairline crack originating from the top centre of the phone to under the right hand corner (the external glass has no crack). I have not been able to contact Sony for advice using their contact us email form (dead link), live chat (not currently operating), or by phone (busy signal whenever I call).
I am really dissatisfied with my phone cracking like this particularly when it is not the result of negligence. Can you please respond to my query and restore my faith in your customer service...

Your Users Guide has a whole chapter (at the end) devoted to what you do when things aren't going well, generally following the sequence of
Restart - red slider, then boot up again
Force Quit apps - either via Sleep/Wake followed by Home, or via Recents Tray
Reset - hold Home & Sleep/Wake to force reboot
Reset iPad Settings - Settings > General >Reset
Erase All Content - same as above
Restore iPad Software - iTunes or iOS 5 equivalent
You start at #1 and work your way through until the issue you're seeing goes away. If you get through all of the steps and it still doesn't work, you're pretty much out of gas and have to start talking to Apple.

Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for this price. They do not fix yours. You can do the exchange at an Apple store.

how can i remove pictures from my droid turbo without having to use the touch screen on the phone at all? my screen is cracked and i am waiting on a replacement phone. as far as i can tell in order to access the phone storage through my computer, i have to use the touchscreen to enable it so that the computer will see it as a camera. I can't do that as the top half of the touschscreen is unresponsive. any suggestions? teaches me to use the backup services offered in the future, but i still need a short term solution for this time.

I'm sorry to hear your screen is cracked spence425. I know its difficult to use the phone while its damaged. I'm happy you are receiving a replacement device. Have you saved any of your pictures and other data to the cloud? Here is a link about the cloud http://vz.to/1mF0GIx . Unfortunately, you will be unable to remove any data from the phone if the screen is unresponsive but if you are looking to transfer data to your new phone, it would have needed to be saved via the cloud first. Hello, I'm having an issue with a LaserJet Pr0 200 color MFP M276nw Touch Screen not Working correctly. I have followed the instructions to reset the printer, but now am unable to select 'English' as my language because every time I select the 'English' option 'Spanish' is selected. I am then given two options to select 'Si' or 'No' both of which can not be selected on the touch screen?
Anybody know of a way round this?

I see that you are having issues with the touch screen not working correctly. I will do my best to help you.
Make sure the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet. (don't use a power hub or a surge protector) This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation.
Was it the Nvram reset back to factory settings that you tried or a hard reset?
Try selecting the option on the display a little higher above the icon to see if that helps. Some touch screens are finicky.
I find that on the Lab printers when I am selecting different menus.

Lenovo A1 - Touch screen not working after digitizer replacement

After dropping my tablet and breaking the digitzer, I ordered a replacement digitzer from a company in China. (It took about a month to get it) After watching this video, I was able to install my new digitizer and it finally looked new again....well at least the screen!
But.....when I powered up my tablet, the touch screen wasn't working..... I emailed back and forth with the company and they told me to install drive program, and send me a link to a site with a video, this site may have contained more than the video, but it was all in Chinese and I couldn't figure it out even with Google Translate. So I started researching. I thought I would try and load ICS on it, I thought, "Whats the worst thing that could happen?" it wasn't much more than a brick at this point anyways.
I found this website that let me through installing ICS on it. I had absolutly no expectations...but IT WORKED!!!! MY TOUCH SCREEN IS NOW WORKING!!!! I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT!!!
When I was researching for this problem, there was absolutly no posts anywhere for "Touch screen not working after new digitizer". So I wanted to share my experience.

Yea you are correct.....it must be a hardware problem. You must contact service centre of Lenovo and get help from there.

Touch screen not responding properly and keeps locking up.

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

8500 All in One - touch screen not working

One minute the touch screen with all it's functions was working fine and then, bam (!), the touch screen stopped working and I can't even use the one/off switch to power the unit off - it does not respond. Funny thing is that the printer is still working from my computer so I can still send a print job via the wireless. With the touch screen not working I can't use any function from the unit itself (copy a hard copy, fax a hard copy) and if the unit runs out of paper I have to unplug it to reboot since I can't hit the 'enter' on the touch screen once I've reloaded.
Bottom line --- nothing from the unit itself works. Has a printer fairy locked me out or does this sound like a hardware error? Thanks for any help ...

Excellent. Let me know how round 2 treats you. The sad demise could have been due to a couple of things...as a side question, is the climate where you live especially dry right now? I may request that our testers recheck how well we handle a static shock on the product if it is dry where you live.

Try giving it a reset. Hold down the sleep and home keys for about 20 seconds. When you see the silver apple, let go and let it reboot and then see if your touch screen is back.

Touch screen not recognized on U925t-S2301

Around October 9th (I believe) we had some type of Windows update on my Toshiba U925t-S2301 tablet PC. Since then the touch screen on the PC will not work at all. When I go to check the Tablet PC settings it doesn't even exist. It now shows in the system information that no pen or touch capabilty is recognized for my display, when obviously this is a touch screen that was working fine before. I ran the Toshiba Service Station app and did all of the updates and still no luck. I also tried uninstalling the applicable HID drivers and restarting the PC and still no luck. Does anyone else have any issues like this over the past couple weeks? Does anyone know of any other solutions? I waited for 3 hours on Toshiba's support phone line and never got an answer. Absolutely the worst phone support I've ever experienced.

Hi.I have the same problem, my u925t lost the display, is only possible throught my hdmi port to the TV I comment my experience if somone know what could be the problem Yesterday when I turn on the computer, I did as tablet, then when I try to convert in laptop the display turn off, then when you slide back into a tablet, the screen lit again. I slide very slowly the display and could convert in laptop again
It worked well all day, turned it off and turned on as a tablet and laptop and everything worked fine.
This morning I had the same problem the day before, started aa tablet, only this time, when I tried to do the same and the screen did not turn over at all.
In my opinion the problem is when you go to slide the screen, the computer gives the order to move from one mode to another.
And restart erasing the entire disc and got no results
Another thing that was decomposed was the front camera and microphone

Hi, We bought a Pavilion 23tm Monitor today and touchscreen is not working.
Chat to one of your tech support and he remotely access my computer and tried to get it working but failed. So he told me to go to australia website. I tried to get contact through technical support but when I get to the page to find the product it can't find the product. I've put the Product name and even the Product number but no luck.
Can someone please help me enable the touch screen on the monitor pls.
I am using a laptop and connected the laptop through HDMI.
I have installed the cd that came with it also.
