HAL exception

hi everyone,
while loading data into HFM application , i am getting following error
"VBIS exception set by "Financial Management1 ( adapter name)" in " HFM (flow diagram name)": java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: GetIsNoDataAt"
due to this error, out of @ 40,000 lines of record , it is pulling only first 1,000 records.
any idea?
thank you for viewing this post.

Hello!
Unfortunately I have a problem regarding the same HFM adapter. I connect to an application succesfully but when I try to import data from a View I receive the error "The adapter's implementation cannot be made up to date.". I selected the "Replace By security", and Accumulate within file is imposted as Y through a variable adapter, the start period and end period are the same, imposted as simple numbers , for eg. 1 , and each dimension has it's own correspondent within the fields in the View, as I created the View especially for this application. Is there any way for me to find out what exactly goes wrong?
Note : HAL : version 7.3 and Adapter Version 9.2.0 - The HFM application is developed in Hyperion 9.3.0.
Thank you in advance
PS: when I set as inactive the HFM - Import Data Dynamic Port adapter,I can build the exe without errors. When I set it as active, I can't build the "exe".

    Hi All,
Can some please help me to get out of this HAL error .
I was facing the below error from HAL routine .
In bound routine failed at 3/12/2009. Exception raised: com.oberon.runtime.OverflowException: Type Mismatch: Overflow
    Thanks in advance

I am not sure this will help in any way, but type mismatch and overflow mean the following:
Overflow: Too many characters. In other words the process could have expected "+" but instead was "something, something, something, dark side"
Type mismatch: seen quite often in relational databases, and VBA (also java) where you are expecting a 'number' and instead receive a 'string'. so for example it expected 123456, and received "Account 123456" or something along those lines.

  • Problem with installing OS. hal.dll missing or corrupt

I feel I have a hardware issue with this laptop. It is a M115-S3095. I had XP home installed but had driver issues. Now I have the recovery disk with it I get "Error 10DD0A0057". One time I did get my retail XP copy to install it gave me "hal.dll is missing or corrupt". To add to the mix I can not boot a Linux OS Disk. It just get to the installing logo and thats it. The hard drive has been tested good , Memory check was good. So just to pick brains and I know some of you know alot more than me...Do we need a motherboard replacement ? I work on alot of laptops and this is a new one on me. Thanks in advance for any input.

yes , on one computer we have used that image before without any other
problems. The computer we are using is the exact same model as the one we
used to take the image from.
In the other case we are taking a computer and imaging it to another drive
in order to replace the drive. So everything is the same , except for the
    drive.

  • Using HAL to generate XML files

Greetings,<BR>I'd like to use HAL to build XML files and feeding certain variables while these files are generated. When the XML file is done being created, it will contain the variables passed. There are over 500 XML required to be build and for each of these files, only 2 or 3 variables must be passed to them. A template of the xml file was created using the Batch scheduler from Hyperion Reports, and this is the file I'd like to use as a template and build a HAL adapter based on that file.<BR><BR>Does any one have a sample of the XML adapter (via screen shot) that I can use a starting guide?<BR><BR>Many thanks in advance for your time.

    Hi,
I'm running into the same problem deploying the classes generated by the class generator. Code works fine from JDeveloper, but had to put my DTD in the directory where my classes are. Deploying the classes with Apache's JServ gives me a NullPointer exception on the first addNode method. I guess it can't find the DTD. I tried to put the DTD in many locations but this didn't fix the problem. Any suggestions?
    Steve,
Did you fix this problem? Thanx!

It looks like you're running into a known MacOS bug that corrupts memory when using OpenCL functions.
For the time being, turn off OpenCL in Photoshop's advanced GPU preferences.

  • How do i re install the file windows root\system32\hal.dll from a black screen

I was given two of the exact same computers a compaq presario c500 c501nr. One had major cosmetic issues and the other the mother board was no good so i put them together to make one good one. everything went well except i now have a black screen on boot up that says [please re-install a copy of this file<windows root>\system32\hal.dll.]  how do i go about finding that and installing it? it runs windows vista

if you follow all 7 steps you can directly download a trial here: http://prodesigntools.com/photoshop-elements-10-direct-download-links-pse-premiere-pre.htm l
and activate with your serial number.
if you have a problem downloading, you didn't follow all 7 steps, or your browser does not accept cookies.
the most common problem is caused by failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com).
failure to obtain that cookie results in an error page being displayed after clicking a link on prodesigntools.com

  • HAL 9.3.1 Essbaes Adapter Error

We recently migrated from Planning 3.5.1 to 9.3.1 and are still using HAL. In several of our Integrations we were able to pull in the new adapters (Planning 9.2 and Essbase 9.2 - we had to use this older Essbase adapter because the newest version wasn't working). And most of my integrations run fine.
However, I have one integration for HAL that is failing on a Dimension extraction step with the message:
    Flow ID: 'getMetaActProd'
    Adapter ID: 'Essbase2--GrProfit'
Error Message: com.hyperion.essbaseadapter.application.ap.APException: Exception #1: error code - 1033: Essbase Error: native code - 1060000
Most the time we don't get this detail but a 'C++ exception' message and the integration stops (usually when we run this from it's executable). Sometimes running the integration from the executable gives us the other message above - wierd.
Anyway, I go into the integration and run this and this steps is pulling about 4,000 part numbers into an Access database -we're comparing part #'s from our outline to parts that come in through a data source. The integration gets to about 3,000 or so and then looks like it freezes up and we get the above message.
I have basically the same integration running on a smaller applicaiton/database and it gets through this step OK. So, I'm at a bit of a loss here as to what I can check. I suspect the adapter was fine because I have integrations the get into Essbase and load and calc' data and all that fine. But this step on our larger database is bombing.
    Anyone have any ideas?

try the method suggested by user609180 in this post: Re: HAL error 1033 when connecting to essbase/ Analytics />

I've got a solution which Ive tested and works! You need the 9.2.0
runtime in order for the VBIS Essbase 9.2.0 Adapter to work. This comes
from installing the 9.2.0 Essbase Client
This is what I did I on my client machine:
              1. Uninstall EAS 9.3.1 Console (Not the server), Essbase Client 9.3.1, VBIS
              2. Reinstall in this sequence:
2.1 Essbase Client 9.2.0, including runtime, and spreadsheet add-in
              2.2 VBIS 7.3
              2.3 HAL Essbase Adapter 9.2.0
              2.4 EAS 9.3.1 Console
              Also
ensure these Window Environment Variables are set(This is based on my
computer settings so could differ from yours) Right mouse click My
Computer &gt; Properties &gt; Advanced Tab &gt; Environment Variables:
              /*USER VARIABLES*/
              /*CLASS PATH*/
              C:\Program Files\Vignette\V7\vbis\Hyperion\EssbaseAdapter
              /*PATH*/
              C:\Program Files\Vignette\V7\vbis\Hyperion\EssbaseAdapter\adm
              /*ENVIRONMENT VARIABLES*/
              /*CLASS PATH*/
              C:\Program Files\Vignette\V7\vbis\Hyperion\EssbaseAdapter\adm
              /*PATH*/
              C:\Program Files\Vignette\V7\vbis\Hyperion\EssbaseAdapter\adm;C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_07\bin\client\
You might have extra variable paths defined under the PATH variables.
              Ive
managed to add the adapter in a VBIS project without any errors, it
connects to Essbase though yet to test if it will perform a send
properly. The spreadsheet addin works with 9.2.0 and the EAS Console
works with 9.3.1 connecting to the Essbase Server 9.3.1.
              Hope this helps!

  • HAL planning adapter issue

    Hi all,
We are using planning 9.3.1, and the planning and HAL 7 are on same machine , the issue was when I tried to pull the planning adapter on to flow diagram - I got a prompt for planning server name , i gave the planning server name
    the error is
connection refused to host; nested exception is: java.not connect exception ;connection refused; connect.
Does I need to do any priliminary configuration before trying to use planning adapter..... I appreciate if anyone help me regarding this issue.
    Thanks a lot
    regards
    M.V

Here are a couple of other things to check:
    1) Make sure the Planning web app server is running.
    2) Verify that you can log on to Planning at http://<your_server>:8300/HyperionPlanning/LogOn.jsp using the user name and password you're supplying to the HAL Planning adapter.
    3) Make sure you're supplying the Planning server name, not the Essbase server name to the server port on the Planning adapter. I get them mixed up every once in a while, and when I do, I receive exactly the error message you posted.
    4) Make sure the RMI registry service is listening on port 11333. If it isn't, click the Advanced... button on the dialog that appears when you drop the Planning adapter onto a flow diagram, and then specify the port number the RMI registry service is listening on. Alternatively, reconfigure the RMI registry service is listen on port 11333.
    Hope this helps.

  • HAL won't start after install on DL585 G2

I ran a v40z for years and recently had SRSS 5.2 on S11 running just fine. This past week I replaced the v40z with a DL585 G2 and reinstalled S11 and SRSS 5.2. Everything went well except now HAL won't start failing with, I suspect, a timeout after several minutes. Using truss it is clear that devfsadm is going too slow. If I keep restarting HAL and devfsadm over and over, eventually it will start.
Is there any way to troubleshoot this further?
    Many thanks,
    Marty

    Thanks for the reply.
I am now kicking myself because I thought I had made a copy of the truss output, but I have not. After 2 hours of tinkering, the machine is finally up and I am hesitant to mess with it any more.
The truss of devfsadm showed threads of devfsadmd stalling for about 60 seconds over and over again performing an ioctl against a devinfo file. I also wonder if this is related to the following message seen over and over in /var/adm/messages:
    Mar 4 10:05:21 dl585 devfsadmd[595]: [ID 511948 daemon.error] di_init failed for /pci@0,0/pci10de,5c@9/pci103c,3305@4,4/device@1/mouse: No such device or address
There is some mouse that devfsadm thinks it has but then it can't find it. For what it's worth, there is no mouse plugged into the console. Further, I have disabled ILO via boot ROM and disabled all USB via BIOS.
    Suggestions?
    Thanks again,
    Marty

  • HAL, and daemons in general

Hi. I'm new to the forums, and this is the third thread I've started; I haven't been getting any responses, so I hope I'm not posting in the wrong place, spamming, or being otherwise annoying.
When I boot up, I get a message about my hardware abstraction layer [failed]-ing. Here's my rc.conf:

    #DAEMONS=(syslog-ng network netfs crond)
Anyone know what's wrong here? Also, is there a way to look at all those messages that scroll past when you're booting? Shift+UpArrow doesn't work because the screen is reset at the end, and about half the messages get lost.
Also, is there a one-stop place to go for a list of all the daemons with a basic description of what they do? I'd like to start as many as I can in the background, but I'm afraid I'll break something. I'd also like to know which daemons need other daemons to start before them, so I can reorder the ones that don't matter to my liking.
One last thing, and not really related to the topic title (hope that's okay, seems like such a minor thing it doesn't need to take up a whole thread): I've been using 'shutdown -h now' to power down. Is that good or bad? Is there a way to get rid of the *beep* when I do this?
    Thanks a bunch!

Inxsible wrote:Generally it is a good thing to start hal before anything else. Try putting pulseaudio after hal in the DAEMONS array and see if that gets rid of the hal issue.
    Worked like a charm, thanks!
And yes, its perfectly fine to use sudo shutdown -h now. There are other commands like halt and poweroff. But poweroff, AFAIK, is only a symlink to shutdown -h now
On my system, poweroff is a symlink to halt. But, either command makes a *beep* sound when I invoke it -- there must be some way to get rid of this. Shutting down didn't do that in Ubuntu when I hit the gui power button. How do they achieve that? Would it take a gui app to do? I'm running fluxbox, and I'd rather not go that route.
About which daemons to start in the background -- I start everything in the background except - syslog-ng - that's the daemon responsible for logging events and such, you do not want to miss the logging if something goes wrong.
Even hal? Seems like that's something I'd want to start before everything else, too.

  • [SOLVED] Is there a nice way to map scancodes to keycodes without HAL?

So I've just upgraded to X.org 1.8 and don't need HAL anymore, except for one thing - mapping my extra keyboard keys. The only way to do this without HAL that I can find is by just sticking a bunch of setkeycodes commands in my /etc/rc.local, which seems pretty messy to me. I was wondering if something has replaced this functionality post-HAL (maybe udev), or has it just disappeared?

I think I figured out a way to do it using udev, and I'll update the wiki page once I've tested it a bit.
Edit: All done, so now I can disable my hal daemon (big boot speed improvement ). Unfortunately I can't uninstall yet since hal-cups-utils has only recently moved over, and some packages still depend on the ancient gnome-vfs

  • HAL Planning Adapter 9.2.0.0.0

    Morning All
Having a problem with HAL connecting to our planning server.
The adapter is added in and works most of the time. When I double click on the planning adapter, go the methods tab and click refresh, on clicking OK i get the following error message "err unmarshalling reeturn; nested exception is: java.io.EOFException"
I restart the HyperionRMIRegistry and things work fine. The problem is, that I try to click refresh again and it fails. So the problem is intermittant. The restarting of services seems to work most times, but its pretty flakey and falls over again after 1 or 2 attempts.
    Any ideas?
    Simon

    Hi,
Just go directly to 9.3.1, you can migrate the planning application to the new version just like you would be migrating from a dev to prod env.
Make sure you back everything up
    Install 9.3.1
And then follow the usual migration process - Migration of Hyperion Planning Application
    Cheers

    Hi,
    This is usually path/classpath problem.
Ensure the following environment variable references exist on each machine running HAL and the Essbase adapter.
To view/set the environment variables, navigate to My Computer -> Properties -> Advanced -> Environment Variables.
    User CLASSPATH:
    <HAL_Install_Path>\vbis\Hyperion\EssbaseAdapter
    System or User PATH:
    <HAL_Install_Path>\vbis\Hyperion\EssbaseAdapter\adm

  • HAL Essbae adapter error

I installed HAL 7.3 and Essbase adapter. Other than having to create a user variable "PATH", I was able to install Essbase adapater OK. The problem is that, when I drag-in the Essbase adapter and enter server, userID, and password to connect to Essbase, it gives me an error "Exception #1 Error Code = 1000 Error Msg = Error: Could not create session"<BR><BR>I'm fairly new to HAL, so I'd appreciate any leads. Thanks!<BR>

The user variable "PATH" did not exist. I created the "PATH" variable with following value: C:\Program Files\Vignette\V7\vbis\Hyperion\EssbaseAdapter\adm. I should had read the log file first, solution was in log file (C:\Program File\Vignette\v7\vbis\logs\ directory).
