Hal settings for synaptic/keyboard not respected anymore (Gnome2.28)

I have a 11-x11-synaptics.fdi config-file with my synaptics settings and a 10-keymap.fdi file with my keyboard layout set.
After upgrading to Gnome 2.28 yesterday, these settings are not respected anymore. I get US layout, and a touchpad where tapping and RTCornerButton and RBCornerButton does not work. Setting tapping manually in Gnomes mouse settings gui makes it work, but only for tapping.
The strange thing is that the same thing happens when logging in to lxde. As I can't see any x.org-packages that have been installed, this confuses me. Could it be gdm related? Has any other things mouse- and keybpard-related been updated just now?
I updated on the 09.10, and I'm pretty sure everything worked fine (didn't use my laptop much the last couple of days). However, when I updated again the 13.10, yesterday, mouse and keyboard settings broke.
This seems sort of related to this post, but he mentions only keyboard layout, and mine has surely worked since then.
A bug? A Feature? Me being stupid?
I have looked trough the pacman.log/warnings, I promise!

I'm also having problem with Gnome not respecting my Hal settings. After enabling tapping in gnome-mouse-properties it mostly works, but for some reason TapButton2 and TapButton3 are reversed, ie. TapButton2 = 3 and TapButton3 = 2. I can't find any way of configuring the TapButtons in Gnome either, which is really stupid.
I guess I can somehow make sure that synclient sets these correctly, but is there no way of telling gnome to either set the corrent values or to not touch the settings at all? Not running gnome-settings-daemon is not an option for me, since it sets a lot of other things that I want.

Autocorrection for every keyboard not working in iOS 6

Apple promised at WWDC "Autocorrection for every keyboard". I am using a Bluetooth keyboard on an iPad 2 with iOS 6 and it's not working. The same is true on iPhone 5. I have it enabled in settings and it works with the virtual keyboard.

I have an iPhone 4 with current iOS.
I've noticed this over the past few months. I always notice it on the FB app. My short cuts stop working. I will check email or note. I figured restarting the phone would fix it.
Here's the thing. Obviously I use FB a lot, but this short cut issues never happens in text messages, Whatsapp, or email. Always with FB.
In fact I noticed that I get sluggish typing performance typing using the FB app whether I use the keyboard short cuts or not.
Just wondering if this common among iPhone 4 users.

Separate settings for MBP keyboard and aluminium keyboard?

I just bought myself a Apple aluminium keyboard (USB) and have to say I'm loving it. However, there is one small hang-up.
Basically, whatever key-commands I apply to the keyboard are taking from my MacBook Pro's keyboard settings and seem to have none of their own. I had gotten the impression that there was a stand-alone software to manage the keyboard but that does not seem to be the case as far as I can tell after about 30 minutes of searching the net and Apple's website.
Does anyone know a way in which I can have one set of settings for my laptop's keyboard and another set for my aluminium keyboard?
All relevant software updates, OS X 10.5.2.

GL account given in Default Settings for Items is not taking precedence

Could you please give your valuable inputs for my query
Which takes precedence....GL account given in Default Settings for Items at the top of the shop screen or the Product category and GL account assignment maintained in SRM GUI?
Scenario: I input a GL account in 'Default Settings for Items' at the top of the shop screen. Then click on Describe Requirements. Here I change the Product Category and add the line item to shopping cart.
What GL account will appear in the cost assignment? Default value maintained at the top or the value maintained in the Product category table.

Thank you for your response.
It is not picking the default G/L account assigned to cost center( I believe you are talking abt OKB9 trans). It is picking the G/L account which is assigned to the product category in the customising. This is happenning only if the product category is changed for the line item while adding the item to shopping cart. Otherwise the same G/L account given at the header is appearing in the line item too.
Also While changing the G/L# information in Default settings for items at top, if Cost center is also changed then the same cost center is appearing in the cost assignment section for the line item but not the G/L.
Wanted to know if this is a standard design or not. I would like to have the header data to take precedence over the product category and G/L assignment. Any suggestions please
No ..... I checked in csks table.There are many cost centers for the company code.

Profile Manager Settings for Group does not display for individual members of the group

Hi there,
Can anyone confirm whether I am going mad or not, I and new to Mac Server and have set up Profile Manager on OSX Mavericks from scratch and have been using it successfully to deploy enterprise iPads. I have just gone to edit the profile as we wish to increase the timeout time to locking and have been greeted with something strange.
We have all users in a Group which has settings applied for timeout, pass code change etc. however if I go to an individual account who is part of that group then it isn't showing any settings for that user and it would appear I need to set them again. Similarly if I go to a device belonging to a member of the group then its not showing any settings for that device.
I would have assumed that if you set restrictions for a group then when you view the restrictions for a member of the group then it would be the same however it appears that you can have a separate payload for a group. Is this the case?
I am grateful for any advice people can give me.

That was never the way it worked in older versions of 10.3, 10.4, 10.5, 10.6 Server.
The restrictions for a Group were shown for a Group. The restrictions for a User (alone) were shown for that User.
And the advantage is that if you see something wrong for a single user, you might be tempted to fix it there, in that user, and when you had changed six of them, you might remember that you meant that to be a group setting after all.
And the software to implement them separately is simpler, but YOU have to test it to find out the end results of compositing Group and User settings.

Default settings for items is not getting copied to items in Shopping Cart

I am facing a problme while creating shopping cart.
I maintained default settings for items like Product catagory,Internal Notes etc.
While adding items in shopping cart these default settings are not getting copied to any items.
If anybody is having any clue Plz let me know I will award points for sure.
Our integration testing is affected because of this issue.

Yeah, this is a very strange issue and also a rare one. We have already tried this option. User deleted the cart and created a new cart. But still no luck. The new cart is also not getting released from SOCO. User created many carts previously for different product categories, vendors and all carts were through. But for this cart,it is not getting released. If you could have any other idea, you are most welcome.

Standard shortcut for "flow" does not work anymore

Hi there :-)
The standard shortcut for setting the flow of a brush or stamp does not work anymore. When using shift + 0-9 nothing happens. It works correctly for the opacity when I use 0-9.
When I turn on the airbrush-mode it's not switching the commands entirely... Flow is still not settable with 0-9 but opacity cannot be set either by shift + 0-9.
I can access the opacity by hitting "enter" and then use the tab to switch to the flow but that's not what I wanna do.
Can anyone help my to find out what happened to These commands? The Shift-keys work fine btw... I'm using them for other commands (in and outside of PS) .
If anyone knows how to change these standard hotkeys let me know as well.

Adobe flash player settings for local storage not available on menu.

The right-click menu for Flash Player does not show the icon for local storage and I can't save online games. Only settings for 'display', 'microphone', and 'camera' show.

The root cause is that the anti-clickjacking logic in our dialog is throwing a false positive (it thinks the dialog is obscured or otherwise tampered with). This happens a lot with videos when pixels are moving behind the dialog.
The easiest way to solve this is to just allow local shared objects.
Go to Control Panel > Flash Player > Storage and select Allow sites to store information on this computer.

Keyboard settings for external keyboard get lost between sessions

Hello!
I use MacBook Pro laptop which I connect to external mac keyboard when come to work. I prefer to use "F1, F2... etc" keys as functional keys so I turn on this setting in bootcamp control panel. However, each time I disconnect the keyboard and connect it back this setting stops to affect that keyboard while setting is still set to true in control panel.
Is this problem going to be solved?

Any of the regular helpers here will tell you that CCleaner deletes settings files resulting in the sort of upsets you have described. I don't know why you didn't have such trouble under previous versions of windows, but since I choose not to use windows 8 I'm not able to comment on how or if the behaviour has changed.
There have been changes in Thunderbird itself, allegedly, which I haven't seen applied to any of my own three installations of Thunderbird, that might mean that there are new files that need to be specifically excluded from CCleaner's actions. Maybe these changes are specifically related to Windows 8 installations. If you have a ''xulstore.json'' in the profile on the affected machine(s) then try adding ''xulstore.json'' to CCleaner's exclusions.

What do you do in Thunderbird that you consider ''needs'' to be cleaned up by CCleaner? CCleaner picks on files whose names coincide with similar files used by browsers to record browsing history. Thunderbird uses, for instance, json files to store configuration settings. If you allow CCeaner to delete these from Thunderbird's profile then Thunderbird will necessarily forget things.
We always advise to exclude all of Thunderbird's profile from CCleaner. If you won't take that advice then you're rather on your own.

ID changed settings for my keyboard, help med get them back

I'm working on a document in Swedish, I have a Swedish keyboard.
All of a sudden something has happened, the letters appearing in the document are not the same as on my keyboard.
I can't seem to find any place to reset to Swedish characters...
Only happens in ID, so it's not an overall setting.
What to do??
Will greatly appreciate help!

Windows? More than one language installed? If so. go into the Windows language settings and find the keyboard shorcut to switch languages and disable it. This drove me crazy in Quark a few years ago.

Settings for Background workitems not working

There is one Task in my workflow where Custom business object method is being called to trigger some background job when user approves a particular Expense. This step goes to error at times and there is a setting for Background workitem ( Under Miscellanous tab ) to restart after specific duration. But due to some unknown reason this setup is not working in Production last few weeks. Any idea where it goes wrong. I have attached the screenshot of Background workitem settings with this. Please check and let me know.

As mentioned by Mike, check if Job SWWERRE is running in background or not. (report RSWWERRE)
This job will pickup work items with "Temporary" Errors (Temporary Exception from the BO Method) and will try to restart them for certain number of tries in specific time intervals. After those tries, it raises its hands and puts the work item in permanent error.
But, if your method has thrown a "System" or "Application" exception, then the job will ignore such items. So ensure that the error is a "temporary" exception for your "Miscellaneous" settings to work.
It is quite possible that your work item gave repeated error on each try of the job SWWERRE and finally it was put to state ERROR....check the step history in technical Workflow Log for details
BTW - are you raising specific messages to know what the error is and maybe correct the root cause?

Some keys on my keyboard not working anymore

So i got my macbook i think like a year ago maybe little more and a row of keys in my keyboard stopped working i have apple care extended for 3 years, does this will cover fixing my keyboard?

It will cover the keyboard as long as it is determined that the keyboard failed on it's own, not because of something you may have done, like spilt water on it for example.

The hyperlink for iweb is not working anymore?

I have a web site built with iweb. It was not useful til few weeks ago when we try to revive and publish it, but ho surprise I went to apple store to make an appointment to remember the way to use it. I was told that that @me wont exist anymore but that I will be able to continue to work with iweb and publish with some other company. Well, I started to work again with iweb, and when I finish I try to hyperlink each page as needed but the program doesn't respond.
