Half downloaded app is blocking other downloads, how to remove

a half downloaded app "my first dog" is blocking other downloads. i can't remove the app. have tried synchronising with Itunes, but app doesn't appear in the lists. Help!!

Hold the app icon until ut wobbles, then tap the x-in-a-circle to delete it.
Then restart the iPad (hold Home & Sleep for a few seconds until the Apple logo appears
That should clear the part-dpwnload and allow you to start again

Mac OS X v10.6 and later
1. From the Apple menu choose System Preferences....
2. From the View menu choose Accounts.
3. Click on the lock and authenticate with an administrator account.
4. Click Login Options....

6. Click the "Open Directory Utility..." button.
7. Click the lock in the Directory Utility window.
8. Enter an administrator account name and password, then click OK.

Try deleting the problematic tune (electing to remove original file if/when prompted) and then re-downloading the file from the iTunes store.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option from the Quick Links section in the top right corner of the iTunes homepage in your iTunes application on your computer.

If the problem re-occurs, select the content which is causing a problem and use the 'Report a problem' button in Your Purchase History using your computer.

After you get the stuff on the new computer, let iTunes erase the iPod and replace it contents with what is now in the iTunes library. All yu saved games and app date will be lost.

VZW blocking IRC ports how to remove this feature?

It is known that VZW is blocking access to certain IRC servers such as undernet yet other servers work fine. There is a trail of posts on this board of people having this same problem and almost a admission of such from a 2nd level Tier support person.
Question: How do I unblock the ports or the IP's being blocked by VZW?

We would have to know the specific ports being used by the IRC client before we can confirm if VZW is actively blocking or not. IRC does have its own well known ports, but if your application or one of its services is not using it then it will not work. Custom ports will never work. In general VZW blocks anything that is not on a "well known" and "privilaged" (> 1024) internet port.

If I look at my MiFi I can only see the following ports are available which is what I generally use as my reference to if a port is open by default or not on the VZW network:
20 - FTP
23 - Telnet
28 - RTP
80 - HTML
90 - DNS
110 - POP3
143 - IMAP
443 - HTTPS
??? - VPN Pass-through (various ports)
As you can see there are only the basic internet ports to choose from. If a port or application is not on this list and does not work by default then we can assume that VZW is blocking it from the NAT firewall level. If that is the case then there is nothing you can do except work around the problem.
The only work arounds for blocked ports are as follows:
1. Setup and use a VPN to connect to a VPN server on a different network that does allow the communication
2. Try to find a 3G only connection that is not on the new VZW 4G LTE SIM card network
3. Configure your application to use an approved port number
4. Leave VZW and purchase a different wireless service provider

Other memory how to remove

I have just upgraded the software on my iphpone 4 and spent ages trying to remove over 8gig of 'other' memory that arrived after the upgrade. I couldn't sync most stuff due to insufficiant memory
I have at last reduced it to .3 gig by unticking all but apps, syncing and then ticking other items (music, photes etc) then syncing again
What has caused this, is it an Apple bug? .

I have a 4S that had 5+G of "other" that I was trying to free up. I searched and searched, tried all the suggestions and had no success. I tried a full restore and freed up the memory but didn't want to loose all my settings, app folders, etc. After a process of elimination the solution that worked for me was to delete txt messages! When I went from the 3G to the 4S I restored from a back up. I've never delete any of my txt message history... so all that information, photos, videos, etc were being caried from one device to the other for like 3 years!
I started with a test. Pluged in my 4S, synced it. Registered 5.2GB of "other". I ejected the phone from itunes. I deleted my wifes txt message (with whom I txt the most). I plugged back in and "other" dropped down by an entire Gig!! So, I tried again with another that I txt often... and sure enough when down another Gig.
So, I decided to take the plug and start off fresh... I deleted ALL of my txt messages and my "other" memory went down to .52gigs!
This is why a FULL restore has been successful for those trying to clear out "other" memory. When you initiate a Full restore, you are cleaning out your entire memory of txt messages which includes large files of photos and videos!
So this is what worked for me folks! I hope it helps someone!

It certainly is disconcerting to not have the ability to play the songs you want from your library. The situation your describing is usually when iTunes is not able to find the file for the grayed out song. Other is usually around 1 GB...
A ' Large Other ' usually indicates Corrupt Data...
First Try a Restore from Backup... But... if the Large Other Persists, that is an Indicator of Corrupt Data in the Backup... Then a Restore as New is the way to go...

The 96 videos are probably the space hog.
How much space is used by your Other? You may be able to reduce.

After establishing the Credit Card account, you can remove the credit card information by editing your payment info, choosing "None".
