However, I would first make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store and hear what they have to say.

  • Headphone jack got stuck in my apple mac pro

the headphone jack got stuck in my apple mac pro.. and they are saying i need to change the mother board .. is that true?

I had the tip break off a headphone plug inside my son's MacBook audio jack. Then it would not play any sounds.
The professionals at the genius Bar can only propose solutions that they know will be VERY likely to work in fairly short order.  I am under no such constraints. The hopelessness of the situation makes it a little more difficult, but not impossible.
Since it was already broken, I had nothing to lose, and went after the broken piece with a very fine dental pick.
After many aggravating minutes of fiddling, I gave up and did something else for a while. I came back to it later and got the broken piece out and everything worked again. YOUR MILEAGE MAY VARY.

  • There is a problem with the left headphone or stereo  headphone jack connection in the ipod touch 2nd generation

I have had my ipod touch 2nd generation for 3 yrs. Now its been a year with this problem but i never seem to get it fixed because i lost my warranty and repair certificate a year ago. So  the problem is whenever I put in a headphone jack for some reason only the right head phone or right speaker works not the left, but when i place the ipod on the docking port both speakers on my stereo work.
Now I have taken great care of this thing. Never lost it. I assume that a connection inside the jack port is pushed in from debrie (forgot how to spell that word)  because, I always place my ipod into my pocket. The only way to get the left speaker or headphone to work is to push on the headphone jack so it tilts, then the left speaker works; but when i release it the left speaker or headphone turns off or stop making sound. So i know its not wiring problems its the connection for the headphone jack to the ipods jack's connection for the left speaker. Though microphones work.
My question is can this be a DIY or do i have to take it in to a local apple store. Problem i lost the warranty and protection repair form or license 2 years ago. I have had no problems with my ipod at all these years until this problem has consisted to happen since last year.
    Anything?
    Thanks,

    - Apple will only exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for this price, You get a new battery.  However, it may not be worth it for a 2G iPod.

  • A piece of of my headphone jack is stuck in my iPad mini!

I tried putting my headphones in last night and a piece of the headphone jack broke off. So I took the piece and put it back on and put it into my iPad mini. When I woke up this morning, I took out my headphones from my iPad and I started watching YouTube videos. I noticed there was no sound. When I tried to make it louder, the screen said "headphones". I was confused because my headphones weren't in. I looked inside and the piece that broke off was stuck in there. I couldn't take it out! Someone help me! Now I have to put on headphones to hear stuff from my iPad.

Are you still getting headphone sound when you plug them in? If the piece that's stuck inside is still in there, I would think it would prevent the headphones from plugging in properly. If you plugged different headphones in, you'll probably push the piece in further and cause more damage. Sorry to say but you may need to contact Apple service via Genius Bar to extract that piece. You might be able to knock it loose/out by flipping the iPad over (heaphone side down) and shaking it while hitting the edge of the iPad with the side of your hand...but maybe not.

  • A Headphone jack got stuck in my iPad. Any ideas on how I can get it out?

I was listening to music, and I forced the headphone jack inside, and when I try to get it out, it snapped. any ideas on how I can fix this? can Apple replace my iPad for another one, or can they fix it?

You are the second person tonight that has done this and reported it on here. I would not tell them that you "forced it in" or that could be considered misuse of the iPad!
If there is enough of the "metal part" sticking out of the opening, maybe you could remove the piece with a very small pair of plyers or tweezers - but - if you are not at all comfortable with doing that - then don't do it. Take it to an Apple Store and ask them to remove it for you.
If you do try to remove it - pull straight out from the opening - don't pull out on an angle.

  • My headphone jack is stuck in my ipad

My head phone jack is stuck in my ipad I need help

I recently was listening to music And then One of my earphones was not working, wiggling the pug it soon came back. I kept wiggling it to be able to listen to both earphones but then the wire and plastic hold snapped off, leaving the whole of the metal jack in, with just about 1mm or even 0.5mm left above the actual rim of my phone. The only way I could get it out on my own without spending money or waiting 4months for something, I simply got a small tool from my draw - it was a small metal point of a plastic handle - and dragged it out with it. If you use this method be cautious not to scratch your device!

  • Headphone jack broken off inside Macbook--HELP!

My dad recently gave me his MacBook Pro, only problem is the audio is completely broken. This occurred when the computer was on the bed with headphones were plugged into the headphone port, and the dog jumped on the headphone jack, breaking it off inside of the computer.... The piece is totally irretrievable; it's broken off far inside of the headphone port. My father contacted the Apple store and I contacted Mac Mall, and they both said the same thing--it will have to be taken apart, and could cost up to $900 to fix!!!
This is a huge expense that I would like to avoid if possible..... my question is, is there any way to get around this problem? Is there any way I can get audio without having the computer taken apart to get the broken headphone piece out? Are there perhaps external speakers that work through the USB port? Or is there a way to change the settings so the computer doesn't acknowledge that there is something plugged in the headphone port? I really don't know! I'm totally desperate. Anything helps. Thanks!

    Yes, easy way around it.
look up a JEWELRY REPAIR place, usually they charge $30 or $40
they drill into the back of the jack, then insert a mini jewelers screw and yank it out.   Ive done it myself for a customer long ago.
Many jewelry repair people do such things.

If your iPad is still under warrantee, contact Apple for advice on how to get it repaired or replaced.
If your iPad is no longer covered by the warrantee, search the web for iPad Repair.  There is probably an iPad repair center near you.
