Half of my screen doesnt work suddenly

I powered my MacBook pro up and now half of my screen doesn't work. If I use the monitor it displays fine. HELP!!

Since you say you cannot unlock, have you tried a reboot, hold both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears, ignore the red slider if it appears.  if that does not help, a visit to an Apple store genius bar is in order.

    dont know what phone you have but go software update program (back up) and reinstall the latest software again via pc is better

    If you restored to factory defaults/new iPod and still have the problem you very likely have a hardwre problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

    If the touch screen physically doesn't work, it's too late to back it up. You should have been syncing your contacts with something... a cloud service or contact manager on a PC. If you were not, then I'm afraid you're going to lose them.

    If no change after restoring your iPhone with iTunes - especially after restoring as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup, your iPhone has a hardware problem.

        I'm sorry to hear you no longer have access to your pictures ItzKB11. I know they're important, we'll do everything we can to help. However, since you did not back them up to any source and the screen does not work, we only have a couple options. Try using the USB cable to tranfer to PC:
    From the Device to a Computer
      • Launch Windows Explorer.
    Using the computer keyboard, press Windows E (  E) keys.
    Alternatively, right-click Start then click Explore.
      • Using Windows Explorer, navigate to:
      • SCH-I545 > Phone
      • Utilize the computer to copy video/picture files from the following folders into the desired folder(s) on the computer's hard drive:
      • DCIM
      • Download
      • Movies
      • Pictures
      • Disconnect the USB cable from the computer.

    We're sorry to hear this issue. Please follow the troubleshooting steps here to isolate the issue: 
    Power cycle - Remove the battery and all peripherals -> press and hold the power button for 5 seconds OR, if the battery is not removable, remove all peripherals-> look for a battery off button on the bottom of the laptop -> push the button for 5 seconds
    Reinstall driver - Go to Device manager -> Human Interface Devices -> right click and select Uninstall (DO NOT DELETE). Restart the computer. The driver will be reinstalled.  
    Reset BIOS - While the unit is restarting, tap the F2 key repeatedly. Once in BIOS go to Exit tab -> Get Default Values -> Save the changes and Exit. 
    Update drivers from Sony's support website or from where you purchased the laptop.

    hello, im new at this but i have a palm pixi and ive only had it for less than 6 months and the screen stopped working and i want to get my pictures off but it keeps asking me if i want to use usb or charge my phone. and i cant hit use usb because the screen doesnt work! i need help if there is anything i can or cannot do at this point.

    When you cannot tap on the touchscreen, you can use a keyboard combination to put the device in USB drive mode.
    Use the following procedure to put your device in USB drive mode then copy the pictures.
    1. Connect your phone to your computer using the USB cable.
    2. On your phone, tap USB Drive or press Option + Sym + U.
    On your computer, your phone appears as a removable drive.
    You can then copy and paste the pictures to your PC for backing up.

    First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
    Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
    If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
    At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
    If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

    Anyone know what to do with regards to contacting Iphone aqout the phone bottom 1/4 of screen not working? The phone fell on a surface and not very hard and now the bottom of screen doesnt work.
    I cant answer any calls or unlock the phone now.

    Did the trick!  Not sure what I did to cause the screen to go numb, but this worked perfectly!!!  I cleaned the screen and must have inadvertently selected something that locked the screen.  This perfect solution kept me from having to run to the Apple Store.  Many thanks.

    Take your iPhone to an Apple Store or Authorized Apple Service Center and have them assess it and suggest next steps.

    The problem: The touchscreen on my touchsmart 14 sleekbook doesnt work.
    A couple weeks ago I had this weird problem where the clicker/mouse/arrow thing kept going up to the righthand corner of the screen and I couldnt get the mouse back down even though the scroll pad was working.
    I kept having to restart my computer to make it work
    Now the touchscreen doesnt work at all and I dont know how to fix it, and yes my computer has been turned off an turned on since then many times

    Press the Windows logo key + X.
    Select Device Manager from the list.
    Click the little arrow next to Human Interface Devices to expand the list and update the driver.
    Click the touch screen driver
    Right-click, and select Enable from the list.
    Click Yes on the dialog box that asks if you are sure you want to enable the touch screen driver.
    I had to disable and re-enable and it doesnt work
