If you haven't done any trouble shooting then begin with restarting in Safe Mode and if that doesn't work reset (may need to do each 2-3 times) both the SMC and PRAM. Finally if that doesn't work run Hardware Test in Extended Mode (again 2-3 times) to test for hardware issues.
SMC RESET
Shut down the computer.
Unplug the computer's power cord and all peripherals.
Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
Release the power button.
Attach the computers power cable.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
PRAM RESET
Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys.

Anyone else have half their screen go dark?

I've had my 27" iMac since May (bought refurbished from Apple.com), which had some yellowing and backlight issues, but I decided to just deal with it based on all the horror stories I've heard about going through a half dozen returns. But in the past few weeks, my iMac's screen began flickering every so often and dimming on the left side of the screen at random intervals.
Finally, today, half my screen went dark and it's not changing:

I don't have AppleCare, but I hope the standard one-year warranty covers this.

My monitor started flickering this morning and by afternoon, the bottom half of my screen went gray or darker than the top half. I have an early 2008 model 20" iMac. I guess my computer is starting to go bad. My DVD drive stopped working correctly a couple of months ago as well. I can't burn DVD's anymore; keep getting error messages. My guess is that the heat generated on the iMac must shorten the lifespan of all the components inside, considering they are all so close to each other. If you've ever touched the top of your iMac, you'll understand what I'm talking about, as it gets extremely hot up there. Imagine what it must be like inside. This is my first iMac and will probably be my last. I paid too much for my computer to last such a short time. I like the compactness of it, but it's not worth the cost. All-in-on units make it more difficult to fix and more costly to fix as well.

My battery drained. Screen shows battery with red line but doesn't seem to be recharding after 20 min. Should I wait or do a hard restart? I haven't backedup in ages and don't want to lose pics, contacts etc.

Agree with Richard:
-Your device needs both the CR and LF. To accomplish this:
option 1: Concatenate the "end of line" string constant (this is a combination of CR and LF, located in the string pallete) to all your outgoing commands. Make sure in the "Visa configure serial port" the "Termination character enable" flag is false.
option 2: Concatenate only a CR to your command's strings. Make sure in the "Visa configure serial port" the "Termination character enable" flag is TRUE AND that the termination character is set to 10 (meaning LF) which I think is the default.

Interesting would be to configure the serial port to accept not one but two termination characters. The above links refers to the document "Developer Zone Tutorial: Termination Characters in NI-VISA.", where this is supposed to be possible. The document however is 404'ed.

My iphone 4 screen when blue with blue lines, i can not turn on nor off my phone, everything else seem to be working well, help someone, I called the so called Authorised dealers here in my country and apparently they dont do replacements, HELP PLEASE. I have an Ibook G3; I bought it in october 2002 in France. A fiew days ago, I took it with me to school, and there all of a sudden the whole screen was white, with many horizontal lines. The system was not responding anymore. But after that, it worked fine again. It happens now more often. I don't know if it's worth to repair, since I don't have any warranty anymore. What could the problem be?

Hi, and welcome to Apple Discussions.
It sounds like you may be having logic board problems. Enough dual USB G3 iBooks suffered from this problem that Apple began the iBook Logic Board Repair Extension Program in January of 2004. Check out the FAQ page and if the symptoms look familiar, give Apple a call. If your iBook qualifies, it's a free fix.
If you are past the three-year time limit, ask to speak to Customer Relations and ask them to please make an exception to the three-year limit in your case.

New icon on screen - yellow circle with white lines with a 1 next to it - what is it please?

New to hear so please bear with me..
i have had my blackberry for about a month and a new icon has appeared (next to where the message icon normally sits). It shows a '1' next to a yellow circle with white lines through it.. I have a feeling it is to do with email but dont know what it is or how to get rid of it... i have no new messages waiting to be read ...

Setting the ALV Hierarchy tree with grid line between the columns and rows

You wouldn't need to see the screen to backup unless you have a passcode on the device. Is that the case? You should be able to plug the device into the computer with iTunes and just select backup now.

HT1349 My Apple MacBook Pro won't start up. It is stuck on grey screen and I reset all of the stuff. It still won't work also half the screen goes dark then you have to shake it till it goes back on. Please help.

Have you tried booting it from a DVD? If so and you find the same result, then its probably a hardware issue.

Ipod touch remains black, cant restore reset or conect with i tunes. tried resetting recharging but remains black. before it shut down i was warned that i didnt have space to load a app then the screen went white with black lines; kinda of like fuzz

- It sounds like the iPod is on. If it is, then let the battery is fully drained and then charge for an ahour and try to stuff again.

CUCM 10 Barge/CBarge with shared line between phone and a remote device

Is it possible to configure CBARGE/BARGE feature if shared line is between a cisco phone and a remote device.
When remote device picks up the phone, red light comes up on the phone, if we press the line button to Cbarge, dial tone comes up and the call does not go into a conference.
Has anyone used that feature? Can it be configured?

We are using Lync for tesing purposes.
we tried scenario with Remote device as a mobile phone. Where calls are being sent through SIP trunk to CUBE and then to our provider. Maybe I should add some commands on CUBE router?
Is that feature (CBARGE) designed to work in that scenario when shared line is answered via remote device on CUCM 10.5.1.10000-7. I am suspecting that its not designed to work that way (If its designed to work that way, we will continue on with collecting traces, etc).
