Half of screen missing on PDFs displayed from browser

One of my users running IE 8.0.7600.16385 and Adobe Reader X under Windows 7 is getting a half-screen display when he attempts to display a PDF from IE. The scroll bar stops half way down like the screen size is set incorrectly. If he saves the PDF to his PC, and opens it will the full Adobe Reader, it displays properly. Suggestions?

Can't create PDF file from Browser Window

Hi, I used to use Acrobat extensively (but not recently) to create PDF files from various websites. Today when I tried to do it from IE and from Chrome I found out that the ability to do that is no longer there.
I cannot figure out why it disappeared nor how to fix the problem.
Does anyone have any insight to this?
I'm using Arobat X, version 10.1.5.

I am clueless as to where to start. Adobe PDF and Adope PDF Conversion Tool Bar are both enabled, but they do not appear. I can, however, print to PDF (thanks for the head's up). My browser of choice is IE9 ... I also have Chrome installed and I can print to PDF from it, too, but do not see any PDF extensions (if that is what Chrome calls them).
Given that I probably have upgraded IE someplace along the line (it just does it), is there a way to make that installed tool bar appear that you know of?

Open pdf file from browser

Hi,
I'm trying to open a pdf file on a hyperlink. I'm directly forwarding to the PDF file on the server using
<jsp:forward page="../PDF/MyPdf.pdf" />. But the problem here is, Im getting the automatic prompt for downloading instead of opening the pdf. Also, I noted here that a new pdf is created on the local PC and then it downloads from the server to that pdf rather than opening the PDF.
Pls. send me the code to open a pdf file from jsp.

Half of Screen missing

my ipod nano screen is half gone, the top half is there but the bottom is missing. Everything else works fine. ???????????

The nano has a one year warranty from date of purchase so you may need to return it if The 5 Rs: Reset, Retry, Restart, Reinstall & Restore don't fix the problem.

Image Missing In PDF Converted from SapScript

Hi Experts,
I was supposed to convert SapScript into PDF for sending as an attachment with mail.
When I am doing that the image (client's logo) in SapScript is not present in PDF file.
Strange scenario here is that when I am downloading that same file to my hard disk then it is absolutely fine.
I have used FM 'CONVERT_OTF_2_PDF' to get PDF table. Then I compressed the PDF table data using the follwoing code snippet:
LOOP AT lt_pdftab INTO wa_pdftab.
TRANSLATE wa_pdftab USING ' ~'.
CONCATENATE wa_buffer wa_pdftab INTO wa_buffer.

I think in this above process only some thing is going wrong because when I am downloading PDF file using GUI_DOWNLOAD then I am passing directly internal table lt_pdftab & not lt_record. But on exporting lt_pdftab data as attachment with mail the PDF file is getting opened with error.
Any help regarding the same is highly appreciated.

Preview proxy icon missing when pdf opens from Safari

Hi, this was an older question which was not answered. The problem annoys me too (had to install skim for this single reason, even though I prefer preview for offline work). Here it is:
If I'm viewing a pdf inside safari and I right click on it and select "Open with Preview" Preview does indeed open the pdf but there is no proxy icon next to the pdf's title in the title bar. Preview in Tiger definitely did have one, the path to pdfs opened like this was something like ~/username/library/wekitpdfs/filename.pdf
Anyone know if there's a way to get my beloved proxy icon back, dragging the icon to the desired destination is faster than going through the save dialog.
Is this a Preview or Safari bug? Thank you for any insight on this

So this is either a bug in Safari or Preview (because it impairs functionality), or, hopefully, there's some hidden preference somewhere which you can change and reactivate the proxy icon.
Have you verified this as a Safari bug by checking that it works with FireFox?

Trigger edit red screen - missing xml mime types from installation?

trying to edit some trigger code - red screen displays. I've seen this in the 'regular' htmldb when the two AddType lines were not added to the httpd.conf file. But in OracleXE Windows, where would I find these to check or add to what file?

anyone know how to add the HTMLDB mimetypes to firefox? I know how to do this using Apache/httpd.conf, but I'm using a remote windows box over the web. I think I need to add them to the mimeTypes.rdf file in the Firefox profile but don't know how.

Cannot open PDF outside of browser without "save as" dialog.

Hello,
We currently upgraded from Acrobat 8 Standard to Acrobat 10.1.6. On our old version of Acrobat, when we unchecked the option under Preferences - Internet - Display the PDF in Browser, it would open files in an new Acrobat window.
With X installed, we don't seem to have that as an option anymore. Things go either one of two ways:
Display in Browser box checked = PDF displays in browser (IE9)
Display in Browser box unchecked = Save as dialog appears when clicking link in browser
There doesn't seem to be the option available that we had before, where it would just open the file in a new Acrobat window.
Are there any settings that would help get this back to my user's expected behavior?

Hi,
Browsers were changing so rapidly (every few months) that it was impossible to keep that setting working across all browsers. The setting is gone as is its registry preference.
There is a cmd line property which works. See the Admin Guide: www.adobe.com/go/acrobatetk.

I've seen an unconfirmed report that the "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can also interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you might need to remove it as well, if applicable.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:

If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again.

Lately pdf files from the Web do not display properly; what is wrong and how can I fix it so I don't have to use IE?

I am a professor and frequently need to open pdfs of academic journal articles from electronic databases. Within the last two or three weeks, when I try to do this using Firefox, only the first page of the pdf displays and the rest are blank. In addition, a bar appears across the top with the message "This pdf file may not display properly." So I have had to switch to Internet Explorer to open the files and do my research. What is going on and how can I fix it so I can open pdf files from the Web in Firefox and have them display properly?

My question is simple - why would you put an application in production that has a lot of bugs? To replace a good and steady Adobe product? My customers will believe that I put a pathetic fallible form online. They are not sophisticated on computers so I just tell them to use IE. Ugh

Problem with pdf display downloaded from application server

Hi all,
I have a problem with displaying pdf downloaded from application server (saved in BINARY MODE).
I am getting the pdf output of adobe form in FPFORMOUTPUT-PDF as rawstring back to my program and then converting that rawstring into binary form using the function module SCMS_BINARY_TO_STRING.
Now, when I export the data to presentation server directly using cl_gui_frontend_services=>gui_download, the pdf is downloaded properly.
However, when I save the data to application server file by looping at the internal table obtained from SCMS_XSTRING_TO_BINARY and using TRANSFER, and subsequently downloading the file in "unconverted format" from AL11 to my desktop, I am getting a "blank" pdf file (with the same number of pages as the one downloaded using gui_download).
I have tried different encodings during download but in those cases i get corrupted pdf message. only the default option of INTIAL value seems to work.
I am forced to believe that there is a problem in my code which saves the data to app server but I cant find any solution that is logical. Any solution to this would be greatly appreciated.

It would probably be correct to assume that both PowerBook computers are equipped with FireWire. The article below could possibly be of interest to you. With a bit of luck, the old computer will be recognised.

Otherwise, it may become necessary to open the old PowerBook and remove the hard drive. The drive can then be connected to an appropriate external USB adapter, and read via another Mac.

Does this only open on that specific site?
In any case, you may want to:
- instruct Firefox to handle PDF files in a specific way by going into Tools > Options > Applications and selecting the option you want for the PDF files
- reinstall Adobe Reader and its Firefox plugin
- install another reader instead of Adobe Reader. I recommend Foxit Reader ( http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/reader/ ), since it's free, VERY light, VERY fast, safe and also has a Firefox plugin (make sure you don't have both Adobe Reader plugin and Foxit Reader plugin enabled/installed at the same time in Firefox)
