  • SL - Pages & Printing problems

I have upgraded to SL. Since then my business logo doesn't print properly. It has a colored design with some gray scaled lettering surrounding it. When I select it and copy to another application such as : Word - it then has a black background as does Appleworks. (it wasn't created with a black background). - Copy to Preview prints perfectly. Pages where the document was created, prints with all the lettering in blue (supposed to be shades of Gray), and the artwork is not the right shade. It seems like this is more than a printing problem, since coping it to another app. changes its appearance also. Before SL, I could print, and copy to other apps with no problems. Please advise!

    dan ol,
What kind of printer do you have?
    Just trying to help.

  • Current page printing problem - while repeating pages : Adobe forms

    Hi Experts,
I have a problem in printing current page number of an adobe form.
My requirement is that , my form got 2 pages. On first page i am not printing page numbers and excluded from numbering.
Numbering starts from second page. The second page needs to be repeated twice.
In this case my page printing should look like :
First page - no page number
    second page - 1 of 1
Third page - 1of 1 (as it is a copy)
IF second page extends to multiple pages (eg.. 2)
First page - No Page no
    First instance of second page - 1of 2 , 2 of 2
Second instance of second page - 1 of 2 , 2 of 2 . Presently it is printing like : 3 of 2 , 4 of 2. I need to initialize current page count. I could able to set the total page count 2 via variable from print program. But while printing the second instance, I am not able to initialize the current page count.
I have seen the following thread which exactly talks about my problem but with out any solution.
Re: Adobe Forms - Page Count
Can any one help me in this regard.
    Thank You,
    Regards,
    Naresh.

    Hi,
I am not sure how your page design looks like.
    Assumption:
During runtime, ONLY 1 page for Page1, multiple pages for Page2 and Page3, same number of pages for Page2 and Page3.
    This is what i did:-
    I have 3 pages:
Page1: With NO page number: ONLY 1 page
Page2: With page number: Multiple page
Drag the "Insert -> Custom -> Page n of m"
    - TextField: "CurrentPage",
    -- replace the original script: "this.rawValue = xfa.layout.page(this)" with "this.rawValue = xfa.layout.page(this) - 1"
    - TextField: "PageCount",
    -- replace the original script: "this.rawValue = xfa.layout.pageCount()" with "this.rawValue = ( xfa.layout.pageCount() - 1 ) / 2"
Page3: With page number: Multiple page
Drag the "Insert -> Custom -> Page n of m"
    - TextField: "CurrentPage",
    -- replace the original script: "this.rawValue = xfa.layout.page(this)" with "this.rawValue = xfa.layout.page(this) - 1 - ( xfa.layout.pageCount() - 1 ) / 2"
    - TextField: "PageCount",
    -- replace the original script: "this.rawValue = xfa.layout.pageCount()" with "this.rawValue = ( xfa.layout.pageCount() - 1 ) / 2"
    Good luck.

  • Need suggestions on a single page printing problem

I realize this may not be the appropriate place to post this question, but I will take any suggestions (including where else I may find the answer).
    Trying to be brief:
Brand new iMac w/SL 10.6 up to date)
    New HP Photosmart copy/scan/printer (D110 e-Print; wireless)
    Filemaker Pro 6.
I bring up the latter (FMPro) because I have one file, one particular layout that refuses to print.
It SHOULD print all found records
Print preview layout in FMPro SHOWS ALL RECORDS layed out correctly on an 8.5x11" landscape
Telling it to print, gets a -9705 error which leads to one of two things:
If I try to print, it only prints ONE RECORD (the first record)
    or
If I try to open it in Apple's Preview application , or Save to PDF, neither of those apps open or display the page
Really odd. I haven't had any printing problems in other programs (Safari web page, etc.)
I've search Filemaker and Apple and HP sites and can't find the -9705 error any where
It may just be an incompatibility issue with an 8 year old piece of software (which seems to run fine except for the printing)
    Thanks for any suggestions

Thank you for that - D'OH! - moment.
I had been googling for -9705, which I believe was finding everything BUT the term 9705 due to the 'minus' sign in front of it.
Doing it correctly, got me a hit on the FMPro site which had a font suggestion I think may be the answer.
    Thanks!

  • Pages printing problems...

I am running 10.4.9 with the latest security patch and I recently installed the latest Microsoft Office 11.3.5 patch. After installing it I noticed that after that not only did the drivers for my Canon Pixma MP150 printer disappear but even on reinstalling said drivers I am now unable to print from certain programs.
Attempting to print from Microsoft Office programs nets me the error message:
"Word cannot print due to a problem with the current printer. Make sure you have a printer selected in the Print Center. You may need to print again or adjust your print settings."
The printer IS selected in the Print Center and no matter what settings are picked the same error message appears.
Strangely, this same error occurs even when I try to use Print Preview - the document won't display and I get the error message.
Usually I would just reinstall Office, however iWork '05 is giving me a similar problem as well. Attempting to either print from Pages or export to a PDF causes the error message:
    "Print. Error while printing."
Other programs e.g. Preview, Safari, Text Edit, Firefox all print just fine.
I've reinstalled the printer drivers, deleted the printer preferences, reset the print system (as per Apple's instructions), removed Office (including all preference files and system files) and tried to print without it installed and reinstalled iWork. Unfortunately, now Office doesn't seem to want to re-install (even when I drag install the programs just bounce in the dock and then vanish).
That's a different issue, but Pages still won't let me print or export to PDF!
So now I have no word processors...
Any ideas on the Pages front?

You might see if a newly created account also has this problem. And, as the standard bit of OS X superstition, you might do the ritual of fixing permissions.
If neither of these work, then your best solution unfortunately may be simply to re-install the OS. Whatever the problem is is likely minor, but it may be impractical to root it out, and nuking and paving is sometimes the more efficient approach. You can do an OS update that would not require installing all your apps or losing your documents.

  • Landscape page printing problem in report 3.0

    Hi,
I am facing the problem in printing the report output on the
landscape page from report 3.0.I have changed the system
orientation property from default to landscape. But still report
output printing on as a portrait page.
Is there any another way to print the report output on the
    landscape page ?
    Thanks
    Mohammad

Have a look at System Parameter Orientation in your affected
    Report.
I think from Reports 6i on you'll also have the Orientation
Property in Header-, Body- and Trailor-Section of Layout Model.

  • Pages print problem

I've recently installed iworks on my imac. When I print a document, a gray pages comes out. If I make a PDF of the document and then print it, there is no problem. We have a HP business inktjet 2800 printer. In other applications I don't have this problem. Any suggestions how to solve this problem?

Given that, I never bought an HP printer because everyone I saw was behaving wrongly with AppleWorks and it seems that this old habit is always alive.
HP is oriented towards Windows in the low end. The company first sought to solve the problem of scalable type by contracting with Compugraphic, which produced the Intellifont technology which was almost shipping when Seybold in 1989 launched TrueType.
HP is still oriented towards Windows in the low end today, migrating from the legacy Graphics Device Interface to the Presentation Foundation of Windows Vista. HP is trying to synergize the desktop line and the printer line through the colour management in Windows Vista.
The legacy Graphics Device Interface worked in the RGB model only and assumed all devices had the same colour gamut, sRGB which is the colour gamut of HDTV. It so happens that this one-size-fits-all model is defeated by inkjets that demonstrably have a larger gamut.
So, HP is trying to make as much as it can from the improved colour rendering in Windows Vista that does not necessarily clip the gamut of inkjet configurations. This further draws attention from what in the past was the HP high end market on the Macintosh.
The idea in ColorSync 1 in 1992 and ColorSync 2 in 1995 is to make the most of the colour gamut of the individual colour device. Effectively, HP make its low end printer line a business based on Apple TrueType and its high end printer line a business based on Apple ColorSync.
HP has attempted to address its Apple market by setting up a special market segment. But without having scanned the special segment, it is presumably still targeted at the professional Macintosh market for photography and prepress.
The HP DesignJet 5000PS began successful line of professional printers in 2000 and new archival ink and photo ink formulations and a built-in GretagMacbeth Eye-One spectrophotometer make the most recent professional printers still more attractive. But that is not at the low end of the market.

  • Web Page Print Problems

Building a website with one of the iWeb templates and when I view the page in a browser it looks great but when I go to print it, its not printing all the text. I have one page that is all text and when I go to print, it prints 4 pages...1st page has text, 2nd and 3rd have nothing and 4th has a little text. I thought maybe it was the background print option, but that didn't fix it. I also have nifty little paper text boxes in the "layered paper" theme that will not print. Is this the nature of using the iWeb layouts or have I done something wrong?
Thanks for any input toward a solution

printing iweb pages is a real mess! there are three main factors that cause this mess:
    - the colors/shapes
    - shapes with text and text-boxes that converted to an image
    - the structure itself
with usual pages that you make in rapidweaver or yourself, you know what you want to print and what not. with iweb you can draw text-boxes just everywhere and iweb has no clue what to print and what not. it usually prints all the stuff that is contained in the default text-boxes. new ones might be included, or might not be!
so, is there a solution? no! the only sub-solution would be to copy the contents of the pages that should be printed and then place a "print" link on your page that has exactly that stuff that you want printed!

  • Print problem. trying to print a document in Preview, the start of the text prints half way down the page not at the top of the page?

Print problems.  Printing out an email the text starts half way down the page.  I tried taking a picture of the text I wanted to print, tried to print from Preview and have the same problem.  If anyone has any ideas I would really apreciate it. Thanks Penny

One more thing to check:  System Preferences/Print & Scan.  Make sure your printer is set as Default.
I'm using OS X 10.8 and I don't see Page Setup anymore. If you have access to Page Setup, check to see if there are any adjustments to make there.

  • Why does the new version not print properly? The left half a page prints in a 2 inch column.

When we try to print coupons or articles only the left half of the page prints in a 2 inch column in the middle of the page. This started when I downloaded the latest version of Firefox. When we print from Internet Express, everything prints fine.

    Check your margin settings.
Type '''about:config''' in the URL bar and hit Enter.
''If you see the warning, you can confirm that you want to access that page.''
Filter = ''margin'' - then look at the left and right margin settings for any that look grossly incorrect - the setting is in inches. Some users with that problem have reported settings like 2.7235879 - IOW a very long numeric string after the decimal point.
Right-click the Value and select Reset or Modify. 0.5 or 0.25 are appropriate settings if you elect to Modify.

  • Half-page, 2 per page layout won't print

Brother HL-4070CDW stopped printing Half-page or 2 per page layout after installing Snow Leopard 10.6.2 (with Brother driver update of 11/9/09). Anyone else have this problem, solution?

That did fix it, thanks so very, very much! I went to the " prints to a small portion of the page" and changed the paper size to A4 like it said and it worked immediately. This was the first time that I found this particular information listed on Firefox after looking at numerous questions/answers. Again, thanks so very much!!!!!!

  • How can I print half pages to fit in my circa desk calendar

How can I print half pages from iCal to fit in my Circa desk calendar?

That depends on the program, but if it's Preview, go to Page Setup... under the File menu. Select the appropriate paper size there. Then go to File > Print... and do a Preview. If the content does not fit on the page, some printer drivers will have a Scale to Fit setting. If there is none, go back to Page Setup... and manually adjust the Scale until it fits nicely when you do a Preview.

  • Print Report on half page

    hello,
I am using report builder 6i. I want print on half page but the printer LQ-300+ uses full page. i want to print two receipts from one pages.
    Thanks
    iftikhar

Make sure your frames are set up to handle that kind of printing. Check to make sure that 2 repeating frames will fit into one page. There are properties on the repeating frames and regular frames that can affect this, like "Page Protect", "Page Break Before/After","Maximum Records per Page" or "Space Between Frames" (these are just some). You also might want to check the height and width of you section. You can increase the height until you see 2 show up, that tells you your repeating frame is too big for 2 records for your original height.

  • How can I print a booklet where each pdf page is vertically placed on each half page instead of one pdf on each booklet page?

I've printed a booklet before but each pdf page had two powerpoint slides on each pdf file.  This binder has one powerpoint slide on each pdf page and if I try to print it as a binder, each pdf page takes up the whole half-page on the booklet.  I want to print two pdf slides on each page of the booklet so when I open the booklet, there are four powerpoint slides printed.  So I basically want to combine the ability to print multiple slides per page but in a booklet form.

Why not reconstruct the pages in InDesign they way you want the double pages to appear. There may even be an imposition script available that will do the trick. You could then output to pdf all the pages you want the full spread on. Leave the original to create the pages you wanted left as is.
You can ask in the ID forum about an imposition script. I know there was one with CS4, there may have been one with CS3.
