Half speed audio playback for Iphone

Are there any apps or programs that will allow me to either record or playback an audio memo or video at half speed? I'm a musician and need to hear myself played back at half speed to work out some kinks.
Thanks

You can do it for audio files in iTunes. Select the file in iTunes and use "Get Info" in the "File" menu. Select the "Options" tab, set "Media Kind" to "Audiobook", then click "OK". Sync to your iPhone and play it with the iPod app. At the upper right there should be "1X" in a white box. Press it to choose "2X' or "½X".

  • Very choppy audio playback for iTunes 11.1.4 for Windows 8.1

I just upgraded my OS to Windows 8.1 (32 bit). I then installed the newest version of iTunes for Windows, 11.1.4.62.  Audio playback from my computer is now extremely choppy and I can't figure out how to fix it.  Anyone?
    Thanks so much!

Well, after some messing around I solved the problem.
Edit>Preferences>Playback>Play Audio Using: "Windows Audio Session" allows the files to playback normally.

  • Half speed audio

Hi , I have logic 8  and wish to import sound recordings created on logic 9
when I import the audio file , it plays at half speed, anyone able to help?

Check your sample rate.  Sounds like you've got something like an 88 or 96K audio file in a 44 or 48K project file.

  • Best car audio player for Iphone 3G

    Hello,
I have camry 2005 which doesn't have aux input to connect other player. So I'm thinking to replace my car audio player with some good audio player with iphone 3G compatibility.
    Please advise.
    Thanks

I know there are a few manufacturers that make an adapter that connects where a factory 6 disk would connect and i heard they usually charge like $45 for it.im sure you can google to see if there is one made for your car.

  • Is there a way to vary the speed of playback for a podcast on my desktop iTunes?

I love listening to my podcasts at 2x speed on my iPhone- is there some reason iTunes won't let me do this on my desktop?  Windows Media Player does it, but it screws up other things.  If Itunes won't do it, is there some other software that will?
Its maddening that iTunes can't handle this, in part because when I search Google for help, I find dozens of people asking for the same feature, some as far back as 2006.  It can't be that hard to add- come on, Apple!  Unless of course one of you can tell me how...

From every thread that I have read about this - and there have been plenty of them - I have not seen a definitive answer on this. The feature seems to be missing from the iPad as bizarre as that may seem. I know that I cannot find it.

  • Pausing audio playback using iPhone headphones

I love how I can pause, resume, and ffwd any audio/music on my iPhone using the Apple iPhone headphones switch. I am sad this feature was left out of the iPad. I'd like to vote for this feature to be added in the next generation iPads.

    This article lists the compatibility.

  • Searching Dock with for Power supply and Audio Out for iPhone 3GS

    Hello,
I am rather new to Apple stuff but I now have an iPhone 3GS which I would like to use with my Yamaha Pianocraft.
The Yamaha has an optional iPod Dock. As far as I know, this would allow me to do things like pause, next track etc. via the Yamaha remote. However, I don't really need this and I would also like to be able to play audio from apps such as internet radio apps (e.g. 977)
So the Yamaha also has an AUX/Audio In connector on the back where I can simply connect my iPhone 3GS. Then I will just hear everything not through the iPhone speakers but through the Yamaha A/V Receiver.
However, this option would require me to have a cable connect at the top (headphone jacket) and at the bottom (connector for power supply), which does not look that good.
So I would like to have an iPhone 3GS dock that provides audio out as well as power supply. I have found three products for this (German Sites because I live in Germany):
    Apple iPhone 4 Dock:
    http://store.apple.com/de/product/MC596ZM/A?fnode=MTY1NDAzOQ&mco=MTgxNTkwOTg
    Apple Universal Dock:
    http://store.apple.com/de/product/MB125G/C?fnode=MTY1NDAzOQ&mco=MTA4NDc4NDA
    Amazon:

As far as I am aware, the iPhone 4 Dock from Apple cannot be used with the iPhone 3GS. Is that correct? Is there any solution or an "iPhone 3GS Dock" available?
Can these docks also provide the audio from apps via audio out?
I hope you can help me.

Well on the backsite this product has audio out but not power, only the iphone connector.
If I want to use this station in one place only and not for syncing, I will have to buy another iPhone USB cable and another wall to USB adapter (altough I have come at home from other products).
Is there no dock that will not require some special iPhone cable?

  • Audio playback through iPhone 4S speaker & attached headphones

    Hi!
I might have a problem and I definitely need help, please!
When I first got my iPhone 4S, I remember seeing an option... I was able to switch between the earphones and the speaker while listening to music (while headphones still attached, of course) and this was amazing since I listen to music all day but I don't want to keep attaching/removing the headphones over and over again. I remember playing with my iPhone and seeing an option to turn this amazing feature off (I did this while playing with multitasking), and I remember that I did change it to "earphones" or something, just out of curiosity, thinking that I could always change the settings to the way it was but now, I can't get it back!
I've read manuals, guides, reviews and I've only found information about this feature but no information about how to actually do it (again)
This has nothing to do with AirPlay, Bluetooth and/or Wireless speakers (nor Siri and Voice Control, I think)
So, I was able to switch between earphones and speakers while my earphones still attached but now that on-screen option is gone, I don't see that anymore. It was something similar to this, actually...

Well, I called the Apple support line and explained the whole thing but since I used the image as an example and I mentioned speakers, the guy helping me focused on wifi speakers and didn't really understand my problem; he thought it was something else.
Since then I've done some research and I've even reseted my iPhone twice but still not able to make it work again. I am not lying and I am not crazy (well, that's a different topic ) ... I remember seeing an image just like the one I linked on this post. This whole thing happened on a 64 GB iPhone 4S... no jailbreak or whatever, I don't even understand that thing so, yes, brand new, 100% original iPhone, untouched
Ok, so... I was listening to music, I had the headphones plugged in and I remember pressing a small square-like button, then 2 options showed on-screen; headphones and speaker, and I was able to select one and then go back to the other, switch between both headphones and the built-in speaker, while the headphones were still plugged in, of course.
The problem presented when I double clicked the home button (while multitasking) and then selected an option (right where the volume controls are located) and it was something like "always use headphone", "always use speaker" or something similar and then I selected headphones while I was playing music via the speaker and that was it, I haven't been able to "swap" since I changed that... so yes, I know it was possible because I've done it
Honestly, I am starting to think that my iPhone was not 100% configured or something and that's why I was able to do so.... and then pressed something by mistake which "corrected" that malfunction.
Anyway, thank you for the help Josephack, I appreciate it!

  • Poor Audio Playback for High-Pitched Music

After a few experiences with high iPOD, I have realized that while listening to high-pitched music (e.g electronic music) on high volume levels there is an irritating sound coming from iPOD original headphones.
In my opinion, a superior equipment like iPOD should have accessories that has at least the same quality as the original equipment.
Unfortunately, headphones of iPOD have failed this concept substantially.
In contrast, previous iPOD versions have had headphones of superior quality.
Again unfortunately, these earphones are not compatible with new iPOD.
I think Apple management should consider the option of recalling the defective headphones and replacing them with higher quality equipment.
If it is not possible, at least new iPODs should be accompanied with better headphones.

The problem wasn't with the ipod, my dock has a bad connection when I connected it to my computer.

  • Lost sound playback for movies, podcasts, etc.  How can I regain playback?

I have lost audio playback for movies, podcasts, etc on my iPad2.  New user.  How can I get my sound playback back?  It worked initially!

discovered the solution from another discussion group.
Double clicking on the "home" button of the iPad opens a list of apps across the bottom of the screen.  Moving to the left end of this display there is an audio slide bar which was set to the lowest part on my iPad.  Moving this setting to a mid level restored sound to the video feeds I was having trouble with.

  • Why is playback in motion almost in half speed for me?

why is playback in motion almost in half speed for me?

It all depends on the amount and complexities of the layesrs and effects that you have and then on your system and graphics card.  You have not mentioned any of that - I am sure an expert or 2 will reply if you give them some details to work on.
Have you tried to "render out" your project first before playing (CMD+R)?  Then check your playback speed.

  • Audio playback slows to around 80% in the timeline for no apparent reason

Using FCP Studio 2 and halfway through editing a project, the audio playback in the timeline lagged to around 80% and made editing impossible. It just happened for no apparent reason. I've tried deleting preferences and that doesn't help.
Strangely when I select the audio file from the bin it plays at normal speed in the canvas.
The same thing happened to a project on my MacBook Pro. It's making life very difficult!! PLEASE HELP!

Have you tried trashing your render files (Tools > Render Manager) and re-rendering?

  • Recording with audio playback slowed down 65% what speed do I need to speed the video back up to to get it into real time?

Ive recorded a test video with audio/music playback slowed down 65% what speed do I need to speed the video back up to to get it into "real" time?
If I'd slowed the audio playback down 50% I would make the video 100% faster.
If I'd slowed the audio playback down 100% I would make the video 200% faster.
So its obviously somewhere inbetween speeding up by 100-200%
Sorry but its melting my brain today and I cant remember the calculation.
    thanks

    hey all
Thanks for the advise on this. I will explain a little more what am have/am intending to do.
I have used Audacity to slow the song down (Effect>Change Tempo)
Audacity will allow me slow the original song down by up to 99% (Or anything in-between up to 3 decimal places)
Unfortunately I am working to a time restraint of 12 minutes per clip (as my DSLR will only allow up to a 12 minute clip).
The song at normal speed is 4 minutes long.
Originally I slowed the audio down by 50% (Making the audio 8 minutes long), lip synced to it using a rasta blaster and recorded the video using my DSLR at 720p 50fps.
I then imported the video and audio I had been lip syncing to into FCPX.
I sped up the video by x2 (equivalent to speeding it up 200%)
    Retime>Fast 2X
Layered the PROPER normal speed audio back over the top and all was fine.
    Test video complete.
(You can ignore the 65% slowed down audio I mentioned earlier if you like, that was just an example of a slower than 50% audio test)
Firstly what I really want to do is to be able to slow the AUDIO down as much as possible (But still within the restraints of only being able to adjust FCPX retiming within a whole 1 percentage in the final video edit), but have the AUDIO of the song as near to/under 12 minutes as possible.
I will then re-record the video again to this new slowed down audio.
Secondly I will speed up the video from 12 minutes to 4 minutes.
Thirdly I will layer the correct 100% Normal AUDIO on top.
The FINISHED video should then look like everyone is wizzing around at high speed but the guitar playing/lyrics look like they are being played/sung at the normal speed.
Whatever happens (due to the constraints of FCPX) I need the calculations to work so that FCPX is retimed exactly to a whole 1% for the final video to sync up correctly.
So what I need to know in a nut shell is:-
What calculation do I use to work out the percentage to slow a 4 minute song down to a 12 minute song?
What calculation do I use to work out the percentage of how much I need to then speed the 12 minute video up to turn it back into a 4 minute video?
    My mind is melting
