the ABAP for HANA community experts could rather help you with issues on ABAP related questions, while your query is more on HANA administration - so you might want to put the query also on the SAP HANA Developer Center. However, from your error message I have three things in mind:
Assuming you did "HDB start", did you perform this console command as HDBADM user?
Can you please check the error log for more details?
Can you check for the ports? I.e. is this an AWS instance and did you configure all the ports as described in the guide (http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-44311).

I have created one Java web-start plugin application in swing which is launched from PHP site at browser plugin.
All things were working fine, but when we implemented SSL in our site it stopped working. And when we try to start the application from browser it thorws error like:

The following 2 links should help with the issues you are having. I would suggest attempting a system restore first (not I repeat not a system recovery) make sure you are doing the restore option or you will lose everything.

can you try to restart XPI Adapter:RFC in NWA. if still it throws error then try to restart java stack.

Distiller Start Error, Time-out occured

We are using Acrobat distiller 7 in our Formscape/Bottomline
Project. The incoming file is a pdf from JDE OneWorld XE. WHen Formscape tries to create the pdf, it has an error that says "Distiller start error. time-out occured."
Has anyone else had this issue? What could be causing it? and How do I fix it? Distiller 9 doesn't work with Formscape/Bottomline. I haven't tried 8

J2EE Server could not be started - Error -11113

     J2EE Server could not be started - Error -11113.
       My system configuration:
      Solution Manager 7.0
      Windows server 2003 32-bit
      ABAP Stack is working fine.
     1.After SGEN in client 001 all the users like J2EE_ADMIN,J2EE_Guest,Slddsuser,SAPJSF etc were deleted.
     2.I have manually create all the users and assigned the respective roles.
     3.Even now i face a same problem as JAVA Server (Server0) dies while starting framework.

Which UME user you are talking about i checked in config tool where there is no user in UME.
Kindly advice how to create a UME User if not available to start the server.
Note: Http://servername;57000/ is says that dispatcher working but not connect to JAVA Server.

WinProducer2 start error, won't run with nVidia Capture drivers

I'm not having a good experience with the bundled WinProducer2 that came with my MX440VT8x-128.
If I have either of the versions of the nVidia capture-drivers that came on the card's CD (that's v. 1.16 or 1.18) installed, or the 1.22 version from nVidia's website (as of 2-20-03), and then try to start WinProducer, I get the same start-error every time:
"WinProducer.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows....need to restart program...an error log is being generated."
If I look at the Dr. Watson log, it says WinProducer 2 generated "Exception Violation c00005."
If I uninstall the nVidia capture-drivers, WinProducer2 opens right up just fine, but, of course, with no capture capability.
I downloaded and tried (after uninstalling v.2) WinProducer3 from InterVideo's website yesterday (2/20/03), with the exact same results! ???
Anybody else having this problem?
This is under Win2k, w/SP2, then added SP3, with no improvement.

After I made the original post, I tried a lot more things that didn't help:
I booted in safe mode and tried it but PSP gave an error message that it wouldn't run with the screen resolution that low (800x600); so it did try to run. So I booted normally and set the screen rez to 800x600 manually, then tried to run PSP and got the same error message.
I did a clean boot with all start-up programs and all services disabled; PSP still wouldn't run.
I disabled my anti-virus and PSP still wouldn't run.
Disabled my video card in the device manager and booted with my on-board video; PSP still wouldn't run.
There's never an error message as long as the screen rez is high enough; when I try to run it, it looks like it's starting to run but nothing ever happens.

The problem here is most likely that there is no ethernet card installed, although there is a port in the back, since that's the way machine had left the factory:

SAP HANA D3 Library errors - "queue" is not a function

i have a question regarding D3 Integration into SAP HANA and hope one can help me.
The last days i developed a D3 Choropleth (spatial data) with hover effects, tooltips and a legend. I have an existing SAPUI5 and HANA XS application running and now i wanted to integrate my D3 Choropleth.
1 ) First of all, i added the following tags into the head section of the index.html file of my SAPUI5 project as i need those libaries.

I have a SAPUI5 shell with different NavigationItems (tabs) and for this D3 Choropleth tab i am writing:

When i start my SAPUI5 project and klick on the tab where the D3 Choropleth should be rendered, i get the following errors:
d3.scale.threshold is not a function
d3.geo.albers center is not a function
queue is not a function
Moreover, i have to say that my D3 Choropleth works standalone outside HANA very well, that is why i assume it is a library integration issue.
In my browsers (firefox) developer console i can see that there is a D3 library loaded by default (as it is one of SAPUI5s components) with the path: sap/ui5/1/resources/sap/ui/thirdparty/D3.js.
BUT this is a really old version of D3 (2.9), the current release is D3 (3.4), so maybe the problem is that the D3 libary that is loaded by default overwrites my integration of D3 (script tag above)?
Does anyone have the same issues and knows how to solve that? Furthermore it seems that the d3 queue library is also not integrated as the error "queue is not a function" occurs and i also ask me how to solve that error.
We have SAP HANA Developer Edition Revision 80 (by AWS), HANA Studio and Client are on revision 73 (64bit).
It would be great if anyone could help me with my issue.
Further question: Is the current release of D3 going to be integrated into the next HANA revision?

Hi Andreas,
You are right. The way you integrate the libraries in your code is not the way that will work for HANA XS projects. This is why it doesn't accept the queue function (library is not loaded) and also why the 3.x only D3JS funcitons are not accepted (only the internal D3JS library is loading and these functions were not a part of 2.9 yet).
To integrate third party libraries, you need to add XSJSLIB files to your project. These need to pass the server-side JSLint checks before accepted by the XS engine. (Client-side checks that fail might not count though).

CAL HANA AWS Deployment error

When deploying SAP HANA, Developer Edition 1.0 SPS 9 from CAL to AWS an error is generated and the deployment fails.
It looks like the Provisioned IOPS part of the CALS template may be incorrect for AWS.
The error:
Operation start failed on step Start VAInstance with message:Start failed for VM SAP HANA due to Amazon Web Services issue: Failed to start instance. The instance has been terminated. State Reason ID: Client.MaxIopsLimitExceeded:Client.MaxIops.
If standard storage volumes are used instead of provisioned storage volumes the HANA deployment will succeed, but performance will be affected.
Can the template be corrected to use provisioned storage volumes correctly?

According to Error Codes - Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud the MaxIopsLimitExceeded error has the following description:
You've reached the limit on your IOPS usage for that region. If you need to increase your volume limit, complete the Amazon EC2 EBS Volume Limit Form
Therefore I would recommend to look at your limit in the corresponding region and to increase it if required.
