HANA Live on ECC - Should ECC be on Hana DB or any other RDBMS
Hi,
Going through some of the blogs, i need a clarification to install HANA Live.
If the ECC is on RDBMS, should the database be retired and moved to HANA DB or it can work side by side.
Thanks
Hari Prasad
Hi,
HANA Live is an additional SAP HANA Delivery Unit which you can install on your HANA One server.
HANA Live has SAP delivered Views, that are based on standard SAP Tables.
So you need to replcated those Tables first then import HANA Live.
The best fit here would SAP LT for replication.
you can get more information from here

You should also create directories for and mount any other partitions
Hi,
I've downloaded archlinux-2012.12.01-dual.iso and wrote it to USB. I've booted from that USB and set up partititons using command cfdisk.
/dev/sda5 ==> /boot
/dev/sda6 ==> /
/dev/sda7 ==> swap
/dev/sda8 ==> /home
I don't remember if I've created /mnt or if it was already there. I've created two directories: /mnt/boot and /mnt/home as per instructions:
Mount the partitions
We now must mount the root partition on /mnt. You should also create directories for and mount any other partitions (/mnt/boot, /mnt/home, ...) if you want them to be detected by genfstab."
I've mounted /dev/sda6 on /mnt
and now there are no /mnt/boot and /mnt/home under the /mnt
I don't understand what to do now because instructions state that I should create directories /mnt/boot and /mnt/home and mount them but now that I've mounted / on /mnt the /mnt/boot and /mnt/home are not available to mount partitions /dev/sda6 and /dev/sda8
Regardsmount /dev/sda6 /mnt
mkdir /mnt/boot
mount /dev/sda5 /mnt/boot
Then do pacstrap etc. Add /home to fstab before you reboot.
Alternatively you can mkdir /mnt/home and mount /sda8 there too, then genfstab will add the entry in fstab for it for you.

Error when updating HANA Live Authorization Assistant
Hi Guys,
I'm trying to use the HANA Live AAA component for the creation of HANA Roles and it works fine when trying to generate the roles but it throwing me an error when updating them. The error happens at the beginning when the plugin attempts to load the Users from ECC. The message is:
SAP DBTech JDBC: [1300]: fetch returns more than requested number of rows: [1300] "_SYS_BIC"."sap.hba.tools.auth.db/GetUsers": line 20 col 1 (at pos 1770): [1300] (range 3) fetch returns more than requested number of rows exception
Anyone has gone through this error before??
Thanks!
Cheers.Ok Guys. No answer to this just yet.
We decided not to use the tool and build our security with HANA security functionalities. It takes a bit longer but It's more robust in the long run in terms of maintenance.
Cheers.

Anyone tried this - Extract data from HANA Live reuse views into BW?
Hello Experts,
I've read from this blog http://scn.sap.com/community/bw-hana/blog/2014/05/26/go-hybrid--sap-hana-live-sap-bw-data-integration that this scenario
> "Loading of data into BW using Reuse Layer of SAP HANA Live as data source (Extract data from HANA Live reuse views into BW)" is possible.
Does anyone has a step by step guide on how to do this? Can you please share?
Regards,
DaSaintHi DaSaint,
best to check the online documentation

View Calculation view of ECC in SAP BW on HANA Server
Hello All,
I have a question
1. We have SAP BW powered by HANA
2. We have ECC System which is also powered by HANA
3. We have HANA Studio installed on our desktop
4. Lets say I have connected to ECC Data Base VUA HANA studio and created Calculation Views.
5. Now when I logon to BW server I want the calculation VIew to be exposed to BW
what are the steps to establish connection between BW and HANA
how can I see the Calculation view created VIA Hana Studio in ECC Hana Database in BW Server
My requirement it I will upload all master data in BW and then Calculation view created in ECC will need to be exposed to BW on HANA server then link this Calculation View to Master Data in BW Via Composite Provider and then use this for reporting.
Please suggest possible ways by which by which I can see the calculation views created VIA HANA Studio on ECC HANA Data base.
Regards,
SachinHi Sachin,
You have my Role model & hero's name I will definitely help you out ...
To repeat your question..
You have ECC on HANA and also BW on HANA
ECC and BW cannot coexists on single HANA box as of today. So in your landscape you might be having two HANA boxes ,one connecting to ECC and other to BW.
Now your question is you want to bring the Calculation view build on ECC HANA box to BW HANA box. Check the steps below to achieve the same.
1) if you have already build a calculation view in ECC HANA box then export the Calculation view .
2) Connect the two HANA box via SLT and replicate all the tables that is required for the calculation view.
3) Once the tables are replicated then import the Calculation view that is exported earlier.
4) Now the calculation view is in BW on HANA box. Now its possible to build a composite provider by combining the BW master data and ECC transaction data calculation view.
If you don't want to use SLT then use SDA option to virtualize all the required tables and rebuild the calculation view again on these virtual tables.
Hope this answers your question.
Thanks & Regards

Consume a HANA Database Procedure from an ECC system (Netweaver 7.31 sp 04)
Hi All,
Is it possible to consume a HANA Database Procedure (for that matter anything which is in HANA system) in an ECC system using ABAP?
I checked the forums and it is mentioned that it is possible to consume from Netweaver 7.4 but we have Netweaver 7.31 sp 04.
Any help in this regard will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
-ChandraHi Chandra,
You can use native SQL to call HANA database procedures or any other HANA views from ABAP.
You can refer this link to get the more info on how to call native procedures using ABAP.

Hope this helps.

Should ECC use an local exchange profile?
We know that for PI the exchange profile should always be local.
How about ECC's exchange profile? Should ECC point to its own local exchange profile, OR
should it point to a remote exchange profile?
Thanks!Hi,
ECC is pointed to the PI's Exchange Profile to access for example the SLD (proxy generation).

SAP HANA Live slow query times
Hi, we have implemented HANA Live, which the SAP's Best Practice and standard Business Content on a lot of Lines of Business: FI, CO, SD, MM...etc...
but when we run reports , the average response time is between 12 and 16 seconds. We used all possible SAP tools. Lumira, BO Crystal Reports, Webi, SAP Design Studio, OLAP Analysis ad BO Explorer, but the response times are everywhere quite slow.
The HANA Live Calculation Views supposed to be already optimized for execution, but when we run them directly on SAP Studio, it gives us 12 seconds on the first run. On the consecutive runs the times improves drastically. I'm thinking that maybe we missing some Server config? It supposed to be already in-memory, so why is it so slow?
Thanks for your ideas.Hi, thanks for the replies guys.
the view I'm trying is SalesOrderValueTrackingQuery
the report name is "Sales Amount Analysis", which is SAP Design Studio based dashboard
These are the tables used:
SAP_ECC.ADRC
SAP_ECC.MAKT
SAP_ECC.PA0001
SAP_ECC.KNA1
SAP_ECC.T001
SAP_ECC.T006
SAP_ECC.TSPA
SAP_ECC.TSPAT
SAP_ECC.TVAK
SAP_ECC.TVAKT
SAP_ECC.TVKO
SAP_ECC.TVKOT
SAP_ECC.TVTW
SAP_ECC.TVTWT
SAP_ECC.TSAD3T
SAP_ECC.VBAK
SAP_ECC.VBAP
SAP_ECC.VBEP
SAP_ECC.VBFA
SAP_ECC.VBKD
SAP_ECC.VBPA
SAP_ECC.VBUK
SAP_ECC.VBUP
SAP_ECC.VEDA
That's what I got after running it in SQL
Statement 'SELECT * FROM "_SYS_BIC"."sap.hba.ecc/SalesOrderValueTrackingQuery"'
successfully executed in 12.936 seconds (server processing time: 12.444 seconds)
Fetched 1000 row(s) in 1.969 seconds (server processing time: 11 ms 886 µs)
Result limited to 1000 row(s) due to value configured in the Preferences
As you I ran it again and again it takes almost 13 seconds. So either it get's unloaded every time I get disconnected or something different is the issue here.
also, there are 8120 records in the main underlying table VBAK.
the memory usage is also very low
I think we might be missing some basic setting here
Thanks,

System Refresh with HANA & HANA live (side-car) data
In a scenario where HANA live co-exists with HANA DB (aka side-car approach), trying to understand the impact of system refreshes to HANA Live content. Is there a method to choose only HANA DB specific data for the refresh i.e. excluding HANA Live data? If we use the backup/restore method to refresh QA from PROD it will bring Prod data over for HANA Live too. Is there a way to export QA HANA Live data prior to the refresh and re-import it post DB refresh?
Sorry I thought it was clear, let me explain.
HANA with SLT, is a replica copy of ECC tables. If you copy HANA Prod back to QA then SLT will no longer be operational.
You could re-enable SLT but you would have to re-initiate replication which would wipe out all the HANA tables, thereby making your system copy worthless.
If you don't re-enable SLT then you won't be able to do any testing or any table changes into QA.
So really there is no choice, you need to copy ERP Prod and HANA Prod, or just copy ERP Prod and re-initiate replication. -
HANA Live Authorization Assistant
Hi Everyone,
I have a question regarding HANA Live Authorization Assistant
As mentioned in the help.sap.com.
https://help.sap.com/saphelp_hba/helpdata/en/da/28a39e975f4e85a5eb69d20b5668de/frameset.htm
For a selected SAP NetWeaver ABAP user, SAP HANA Live Authorization Assistant generates the analytic privileges based on his/her assigned PFCG authorizations and collects them with the request SELECT object privileges in a role.
It is given that SAP delivers metadata for all the relevant views of the virtual data model, which defines the mapping between the authorization fields of authorization objects and the respective attributes of views.
My question is How will Authorization Assistant know about ABAP authorizations for a ABAP user
Regards,
VIvekGot the answer from the below blog:
http://scn.sap.com/community/services/blog/2014/01/06/hana-live--security-setup
The two tables UST12 and USRBF2 should be replicated into the HANA system.

HANA Live automatic universe creation
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems that automatic universe generation is not supported in the current version of the BOBJ platform (BI 4.1, SP1) and HANA Live. Does anyone know when support for automatic universe generation from the 651 HANA Live views will be included in the platform and IDT? As an alternative, does anyone know of an easy workaround for creating universes based on the views in lieu of manually creating each one?
Masa,
There is no source of supply in the shopping cart. Beacuse of that held PO is getting created.
But my question is, it should not even create the PO. Once the shopping cart has been approved, it should go to carry out sourcing where buyer will assign the vendor and creates the PO.
Now, it is directly creating the PO.
Thanks,

ACCMAP: Obsolete in ECC.. Any other wayout possible??
Hey Guys
A. Prior to ECC version, say, in 4.7 - There used to be a T code ACCMAP.. Here in, my client did as below
Company code 2030
Dep Area 01: Book dep Area
Dep Area 20: Parallel dep area
Dep Area 55: Delta Dep Area..
Company code 9030
Due to ACCMAP settings, when AFAB is run in 2030, it posts the Dep Area of 01 + Dep Area of 55 to Company code 9030 in Spl Purpose Ledger
B. Our client has just upgraded to ECC 6.0 and still not using New GL...
C. Now in ECC, the ACCMAP is no longer availalbe as SAP says you can map Dep Area to parallel ledger... But our requirement is to map Dep Area 55 of 2030 to Dep Area 01 of 9010 company code
Is this no longer possible in Standard SAP?
Do we have any other way of doing this?? (Since the comp code 9010 not only manages the asset related postings but also many other postings, it will be very difficult to migrate from using a New Company code to using a Parallel Ledger in same company code)
br, Ajay MHi Ajay,
I can provide you some background information regarding ACCMAP that may help for better understanding:
Why is ACCMAP (concept of the accounting principle) obsolete in ECC 6.0. and why it is no longer needed? It was used in previous releases to "filter" which values and from what depr.area should go to the special ledger. In this way, let´s say, you linked the depreciation area to the accounting principle and this to the special ledger in order for the information to flow from the specific area to the specific "special ledger".
This logic has changed. Now you link the depreciation area to the parallel ledger directly in OADB (no need of accounting principle).
The parallel ledger solution is, in fact, a development of the special ledger concept.
I strongly advise you check SAP's online documentation in the SAP library under:
Asset Accounting (FI-AA) > Integration > Parallel Ledgers in Asset
Accounting.

Changing documents downloaded from CRM into ECC, in ECC
Hi
Our requirement is to change documents downloaded from CRM into ECC, in ECC. I was refering to note 541113, but it is not of much use as we are using CRM 5.0. Also parameter that it says should be set I have set but ...obviously it didin't work. Please tell me what setting needs to be done for CRM 5.0 & ECC 6.0 so that our requirement is satisfied. I have searched SAP notes, without much success.
Thanx in advance.
Cheers
HitsHi,
This is very simple.
SAP has provided us with a new Scenario. this is called Scenario A.
This scenario can be made Transaction Type specific.
You need to maintain table SMOFPARSFA in CRM and CRMPAROLTP in R3.
SMOFPARSFA:
Key = R3A_SALES
ParamName = INT_CHANGE_ORDER
ParamName2 = <Transaction Type>
ParamValue = A
CRMPAROLTP:
ParameterName: CRM_SCENARIO
ParameterName 2: INT_CHANGE_ORDER
ParameterName 3: <sales document type>, for example TR
ParameterValue 1: A
Just do these settings and check. This must work
