Hand Free Link when in Maps

When I get in my Honda accord and my iphone 6 links up via bluetooth, then use maps, it always defaults to giving map directions via the hands free link (honda speaker system). Each time I start a map I can click on microphone and tell it to use iphone rather than hands free link. Is there a way that I can set things up so that it always defaults to iphone? Also when I use google maps, I would also like it to use iphone for audio. Can't find out how to change this in google maps.
Also, is google maps more reliable than the iphone maps?

Have you ever loaded a tracklog containing different tracks belonging to more than 1 month?

Yesterday morning the built-in bluetooth on my car was working fine, then at lunch when I tried to use it it was impossible to hear the call. I checked the phone and the volume is turned up all the way, and the bluetooth HFL is working fine with my husband's phone, so the issue has to be with my Palm Pixi. I can hear the HFL commands and prompts without issue at a normal volume level (8-10) but to hear even a whisper of a conversation or even a ringtone I have to turn the volume up to about 40.
I've tried to search on my Pixi to see if there are any settings I can adjust or update, but haven't been able to find anything.
Anyone have suggestions about how to correct/address this issue?

You have to go through the entire pairing process or can you just turn off Bluetooth and then turn it back on again, or go into the phone and select the car and they connect? If you are having to go through the pairing process again, it could be a problem with the vehicle. The iPhone uses the latest Bluetooth stack and it may be a problem with pairing with the vehicle system. Try contacting Honda/Acura and see if there are any firmware updates for the systems in the vehicle.

Ii Phone 5 Not Discoverible Acura Hands Free Link

Has anyone else had issues with Acura's/Honda's Hands Free Link not discovering the iphone 5 therefore, unable to use the Hands free Link. It work great all all of a sudden it doesn't. I have done everything, spoke with Acura, they testing my Hands Free Link System and it's working fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

InnaB, this is an issue with iPhone. This is just MY speculation, hope Apple will release a fix soon. You can also leave a feedback here http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html and PLEASE enter specific information of vehicle like Model, year and type of radio or Audio System your vehicle is equipped with when you fill out that feedback. I have encountered similar issues with other makes of cars too as I do a lot of testing of cars.There are some vehicles that work fine and then there are some that exhibit concerns like yours.
On a side note have you tried to RESET NETWORK settings and tried? Also unpair ALL BT sets, re-pair the iPhone to your vehicle and try it. Some instances I have encountered where the IiPhone was STILL paired to a HEADSET, it would NOT release it to work with another BT device. Some car audio systems have what's called an "Auto Pairing" which works awesome with iPhone, where you DONOT have to worry at all, start the vehicle, turn on audio system, iPhone auto pairs to that system. I donot know IF your vehicle is equipped with that design, check in the user manual of that system please.

Honda Hands Free link causes phone to reboot

I have my phone paired with my Honda hands free link however when I receive phone calls my phone will reboot. I have set the Bluetooth options to always trust this device and still am having the issue. Any recommendations?

Honda has an entire troubleshooting site for HandsFreeLink. It's available to technicians and the public alike. I wonder if your technician even bothered to look at the HFL site. Many techs seem to be unaware of Honda's own online help.

You did not say what model or year of Honda you have, otherwise I'd look things up for you.

Hand-free link in Accura MDX cannot connect to phone after update IOS 7.1.2

After I updated the IOS 7.1.2 on both my iPhone 5s, the hand-free link in my MDX 2005 cannot connect/recognize to both my phones anymore. What should I do? Please HELP!

Apparently there are no supported carriers in Pakistan. So the carrier update was for a non-Pakistani carrier. If it worked in the past your phone was probably hacked to add local carrier support.

I cannot get my iPhone 5s running iOs 7.0.4 paired with my 2005 Acura TL blutooth, HFL (hand free link). My old 3G paired with no problem. I have tried to reboot iPhone, changed the name of my phone, tried 000, 1234, 1010 for code, etc. Any help would be appreciated.

Iphone 4 Pairing 2010 Honda Civic with hands free link.

I purchased this vehicle several months ago and paired my iphone with the hands free link with no problem. All the sudden last week I started my car and noticed that the hands free did not connect. I haver since tried numerous things, such as deleting the phone from history from the car system and try to pair again with no success.
The iphone picks up the hands free link system. The hands free link gives the pair code (0000). I enter the code, but then a message on the iphone states the code is correct but the pair was unsuccessful. How can I correct this? Thanks.

Remove the phone from the device list in the vehicle. Remove the vehicle from the device list on the phone. Do a reset on the phone, holding the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. After the phone restarts, turn Bluetooth on for the phone. Then go into the vehicle and follow the manufacturer's instructions for putting the vehicle into pairing mode. See if you can pair the two devices.
On occasion, devices will not always connect automatically. If after the devices pair this happens, just go into the Bluetooth setting on the phone, locate the listing for the car and tap on it. It should connect then. This will prevent the need to try and pair the two devices again.

Hands Free Link (HFL) on Acura TL does not work with iPhone 3G

I pair iPhone successfully, and can pick up the incoming calls. However, when I make an outgoing call on iPhone, and tell it to use HFL, the call is not transferred to HFL.
HFL works fine with my Treo 650, including picking the outgoing calls.
Is there a software update or setting for either iPhone or Acura?

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.
In all honesty this sounds like a compatibility issues, I suggest contacting the Manufacturer of the BT device and asking if this device is compatible or not, they may even be able to supply firmware update instructions.
You could also try resetting the in car BT as well, this would remove all previous BT profiles for other devices, which may be causing an issue.

Hi, With iphone 5 I can't find my cars hands-free kit when searching bloutooth, but I can find it and pair it easily with my iPhone 3GS. My car is Cadillac SRX 2012

Try unpairing the iPhone 3GS from your Cadillac, then try pairing the iPhone 5 again.

Also, iOS 6 uses AVRCP 1.4 so you may need to update the reciever in the car to make it compatible with with all versions of ACRCP.

Hands free press phone buttons

my wife always gets her cell call for work availability while driving. She needs a phone that is hands free and when answered she can respond to the computer talking to her to: . Enter your empoyee # (five digits) . Press 1 to accept the job, 2 to refuse, 3 to ... you get the picture. Like when you call a stupid phone company or store and they run you through upteen menu choices. She needs a phone, an app that will do that part hands free - by voice command while she drives. Please pleasantly surprise us!

No such animal. Possibly Siri will be able to do this someday, but not now.
FYI, the MVA rate for hands free cell phone use in cars is just as high as for hand held...

Do I have to turn on cellular data to make hands-free calls on the iPhone 6? If so, REALLY, APPLE???? I have never had a smart phone and ALL of my low-tech phones allowed me to make hands-free calls and I did not have to use data (which is NOT free) to do it. I know that I can ask Siri to make calls for me but how do I make hands-free calls when my data is turned off?

Siri does indeed require internet access to function, so yes, you would need to have cellular data turned on

I have had the same issue which was driving me mad but think I have just found a way around it. In iOS 7 if you swipe up on the lock screen to access quick settings and go into timer then click the home button you get into the phone without calling the person back. Not a great 'fix' but hope it works for you. Come on Apple this isn't good enough, fix this bug otherwise you will lose your customers.

If the Belkin supports the A2DP (Stereo Bluetooth) profile then it will work.

No auto answer when used with Hands Free system in Toyoya RAV 4

I can make outgoing calls using the hands free system in my Toyota RAV 4 but must manually answer all incoming calls. Is there any way to have the phone pick-up after a set number of rings..I did not have this problem with my Palm Treo 650.

I just got back from my dealer...bottom line, update works. It was a $99 charge, they ran into some issues, it was their first try at it. I brought a 2 GB usb stick with me, one I had lyling around, formated it, and let them use it. They said they could not give it back, since it would have their data on it...no big deal. Turns out, there was an issue with the USB stick I gave them, they had to go out and purchase on (not sure why they didn't have one on hand alread). I have about 8900 songs on my iPod, a few playlists. It took about 20 minutes or so to finish the loading, then when you try to use some voice commands, says you cannot do it while it's compiling songs or something to that effect. A few minuts, later, the voice commands worked. Only issue I see is that everytime I turn off the car, and get back in, it goes through the process of the load again. the 2nd time was a little quicker, but still took about 5-10 minutes, and again, had the delay of not being able to use the voice.
