Hand icon for panning, getting me crazy!

Hello to everybody!
I spent all the afternoon reading questions already made in the forum to find an aswer but I didn't get the right one.
So this is the point: Lightroom 5, a 2010 MAC laptop with OS x 10.8.4
Please, is there anybody out there that knows why in the develop module if I click on one image to zoom it, I can't see the hand icon to panning inside the picture? And so it's possible to move only clicking on the navigator window.

The reason I withdrew my reply is because when I simply zoom using my computer the hand icon appears. If I'm using one of the other tools such as the healing brush or the adjustment brush I have to use the space bar. When I reread your question you hadn't mentioned whether or not you were using one of those tools. And since I'm not a Mac person I was concerned that I might be giving bad information.

Ah, yes, I'm using Adobe Reader! That makes sense. Thanks so much for your reply. At the moment, I scan Word documents into my computer and they're automatically converted to PDFs. If I had Adobe Acrobat on my computer, and scanned in documents, would they open in Reader automatically or could I open them in Acrobat and therefore add password protection?

It works for me. Are you sure you are hovering in the right spot? It's the dividing line between the filmstrip and the Toolbar.

The icon for Safari has probably moved to make room for new apps. Scroll the Home screen to look for it.
You cannot reverse the upgrade.

The icon for Norton Identity Safe has disappeared and I can't figure out how to get it back on my toolbar.

I use Norton which has a feature called "Identity Safe." In the old version of Mozilla, the icon for this feature was available on my toolbar. Now that I have converted to the latest version of Firefox, the icon has disappeared and I cannot figure out to get it back. I can still activate the Identity Safe by opening Norton, but I want to restore the shortcut.

Symantec have made an update for their add-ons to work in Firefox 4, but they only listed them as compatible with Firefox 4.0, they need to update them to let them work in Firefox 4.0.1, they have indicated this will be happening soon. 2 questions--I've tried the cookies/cache thing but when I try to register a site, it still says I have a problem with my cache and cookies setting, and my icons for tools, etc has disappeared from my tool bar, how do I get them back?

I did the self help to set private settings, delete cookies and no tracking of my visited website, and delete history...but when I try to register on a site to send them emails (comments) i keep getting sent back to an error page that my cache/cookie settings are not right!!! and then the icons for my "tools", etc that were on the upper right of my toolbar have disappeared and I want them back...where did they go and I can't find any help on the help menus to solve any of these issues..it's aggravating.

You can enable your Known & Trustworthy Add-ons later. Check and tell if its working.

When I go to Bookmarks, and I go to Bookmarks Toolbar, the list of bookmarks used to have the little logos/icons associated with the company, etc. I liked these. When v9.0.1 updated, I lost these. If you are using iOS 4 (or earlier) there is no Software Update in Settings. That feature was first added in iOS 5.
To update you will have to connect your iPad to iTunes on a computer (preferably the one you sync with and backup to).

How do i get video from my sony hx100 digital camera to my mac? after connecting the camera via the supplied usb cable, iMovie shows icons for 5 videos, but none will load.

i've connected the camera to the mac using the supplied usb cable. imovie shows 5 icons for videos but all of them have the red circle with slash through them and the box to import them is grayed out.

Get a nice Sony miniDV camcorder. It is not too expensive; it is small and easy to carry around to shoot your video. Most importantly, it will be instantly compatible with iMovie. You don't have to install any software, just connect it via FireWire (Sony calls this iLink) and you are good to go!
I have had several Sonys and love them. You don't need one with fancy editing capabilities because you will edit your movies in iMovie. Just be sure that it has AV In and Out so you can import and export back to the camcorder.
My current version is the small DCR HC-26. There are newer versions of that HC-30something and 40something. Look at the specs on Sony's website
Some of them require the use of a dock to import and export. I am not really fond of that feature. I like just connecting directly to the camera.

You can check for issues with the Windows icon cache and try to rebuild the icon cache.

# After the IconCache.db file has been deleted, start a new explorer.exe process via "File > New Task" to get the desktop and Taskbar back.
The IconCache.db file is a hidden file, so make sure that you can see hidden files.

if your talking about on the desktop:
go to dock, click on finder, go to the menu bar, click on the "Finder" menu, chose preferences. When Finder Preferences opens, click on the "General" icon from the toolbar. Under "Show these items on the desktop:" check "Hard Disks". You may want to check "External Disks," and CDs, DVDs, iPods and connected servers.

If you last used an Apple TV to mirror your device and have updated to the newest Apple TV software, go into settings and turn airplay back on. The icon should then appear on your iPad mini when you swipe up allowing you to disable it for Netflix. After updating my Apple TV software for some reason it turned airplay off.

Easy-these are just aliases. Do a cloverleaf+F/command+F (Find) and they should appear. Either create an alias and drag it to the dock-or there's an "add to Dock" command in the Finder. so click on whichever app you'd like to add to the Dock, then add to Dock and it should appear there. If something isn't in the Dock that doesn't mean it's gone for good. It's just an alias

When I search for solutions, I find several references to the backup feature of Norton 360. There also were references to MozyHome and McAfee.
