Hand tool pressed and its option

Hi,
can the hand tool, when it's pressed and when you get the gigantic red rectangle, which zooms out, be stopped in the middle of that process and leave the magnification position of where I stopped?
I tried with alt, command, ctrl, shift, nothing...

This is the one and only time I've managed to get a script to work for me, every other script I've attempted to do has failed miserably.

Just copy that text and save it in a text editor as something like zoom130, but you can change the figure of 130 to your preference. You can then assign a kbsc to the script.
I know it's not what the OP wanted, but I think it could be a solution. You could even have two or three of them.

under shortcut keys F2 F3 F4 or something.
Just save them as different files with different percentages.

Somethimes no hand tool pressing the space key

Sometimes when I try to get the hand tool pressing the space-key it doesn´t work (same time in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign). I not even see the hand-Icon, nothing happens. After a restart of my Mac it works normal. It´s definitly not the key, it works normal in other applications. How can I solve this problem?

Adobe 9 Multiple issues with scale resetting, hand tool disappearing, and bad parameters

Hello and thank you for help!
We are having a single machine have issues with the scale resetting on a documents after they have been saved. We will set the scale to 1-30 and after re-opeing the pdf, its back to 1-1
Also having issues with the hand tool reverting to the pointer tool after an indeterminet amount of time. And lastly we recieve the bad parameter message when using the clouding tool, the feature can be used right after that with no issues. Where to start troubleshooting this issue?

Are you saying that
you are going to the Document Properties tab->Initial View and setting the magnification and then saving the file, that this setting does not stick when you reopen the file
or
you just changing the view magnfication while looking at the file, saving the file and that view mangification doesn't stick.
If the latter, its not supposed to. If the former, then Houston we have a problem.

Hand Tool Appears and Have to Restart Computer - CS5

This problem has been going on for quite some time. I'll be working on a project and then out of nowhere the hand tool is activated and I'm no longer able to use any of the other tools. If I quit all the open Adobe programs and restart PS, the hand still appears. Only after I restart my computer, does PS work again. This is a reacuring problem that happens several times a day. I've noticed it happens when I'm zoomed in relatively close to the area I'm working in.
Help?

Hitting the H key or the space bar repeatedly, say six times in very quick succession, normally clears it up. In some cases it may take 10 or 12 times.
As to what triggers it, when CS3 and CS4 were current, there were some old versions of Microsoft Entourage that caused it when Entourage was open in the background. It was some strange interaction between the buggy version of Entourage and the OS (in my case it was Tiger). Subsequent updates to Entourage fixed it.
However, it's entirely possible that something else may be causing it in your case. I don't have CS5.

Under the tools tab and configuring options after it will not close by clicking 'OK' button but have to x out. thus nothing is saved

Hello, using firefox 6 . windows 7 . under the tools button click on options to try and configure after changing to my desired settings in this case it's my home page it allows me to apply but then it refuses to close the window by using the OK button and have to close the window by clicking on the 'X' out thus not saving my changes. HELP please?

IMovie quits for no reasons and its options get reset

Just a bit ago, i was using imovie and then it quit for no reason, and it has beend oing that reciently, but I can get up fine. This time, it quit and it reset its options and I didn't tell it to do that. What is going on an d how can I fix this?

Do you mean that I need to modify DPAppletServer? Or DataAccessImpl? How would a private object prevent the server from being garbage collected? Where does the sync block go? Is it just for a separate thread that waits forever??

Find and its options; maxdepth and mindepth

Hey. When I consult the man page of find regarding maxdepth and mindepth i get this :
-maxdepth levels
Descend at most levels (a non-negative integer) levels of directories below the command line arguments. -maxdepth 0
means only apply the tests and actions to the command line arguments.
-mindepth levels
Do not apply any tests or actions at levels less than levels (a non-negative integer). -mindepth 1 means process all
files except the command line arguments.
This is all so vague! I do not understand a bit. Can someone explain me how it all works, and perhaps give some examples?

Indesign CS6 hand tool gets stuck and can't use selection tool

In Indesign CS6 using Mountain Lion, the hand tool appears and I can't select or work with any other tool. All I can do is move the document around. After trying the space bar and other key commands I restarted and it worked for a while. Then it happened again. I work on a Macbook pro, so when I removed the mouse and worked only with the trackpad there was no change. When I quit and reopened, no change. I then deleted prefs and restarted and it worked, but it's been happening from time to time. Anyone know any other fix without restarting or deleting prefs.

Yes, this is an intermittent problem between Adobe and Apple: InDesign CS6 getting stuck in the hand mode. This happens to me when I am working by remote desktop using Screen Sharing. The cursor turns to a hand tool and you can't change it.
I stumbled upon a quicker solution (to restarting, etc.) by depressing the Control-Command-Spacebar keys cumulatively in succession. (I just happened upon this out of frustration--it is an old PageMaker toggle sequence.) When I clicked on the screen after doing this, the hand reverted to the pointer. Sometimes you may have to click on the pointer in the tool palette first before the sequence to make it revert.
I would like to see if this trick works for others. I see on another forum posting about Adobe CC that many people are experiencing this problem there as well. An Adobe moderator has listed the posting as "correctly answered" and solved that the issue is not an Adobe issue (rather bad keyboards, etc. etc.). But it still remains a problem with many Apple users of Adobe products. (It has only happened to me with Adobe products...no other vendors...both in Mavericks or Yosemite.)

Loss of Tools Panel and Options Panel.

I have lost my Tools Panel and my Options Panel on my screen. I have toggled with the F key but this still does not bring it up, same with the TAB key. Please can you help?

Hand Tool Question

Hello,
Everytime I use my cropping tool after a few minutes the hand tool appears and I cannot get my cropping tool to come back unless I turn of my computer for off for a period of time. Does anybody else have this problem; if so, how do I fix it!

The most common cause for persisiting engagement of the hand tool is depression of the space bar on the keyboard. Check to be sure that dirt and debris do not interfere with its release.
If that does not fix it, reset the tool via the icon or arrow (depends on version of PE) at the top left of the tool's option bar.
If still persisits, you may have to reset preferences.

Hand tool Scroll all I'm missing something

When I choose the hand tool and in options Scroll ALL. I'm supposed to click and drag to see the other open files (photos). What am I overlooking?

PSE8 - stuck in hand tool

Hi - Not hugely familiar with the program but have used it a little bit. The editor seems stuck in hand tool mode and I'm unable to select other tools.... any idea what I've done?!

Check your keyboard to be sure that the space bar is not stuck.
If that does not fix it, reset the tool via the little arrow at the top, left, of the tool's option bar.

Hand tool for one layer

Using CS5 on Windows 7. I'm trying to use the hand tool to move one layer, but it will only scroll all layers together:
Scroll All Windows is unchecked (and unchanged while selected)
Layers are not grouped
Layers are not linked
Only one layer is selected at the time.
I tried all of the above both with hand tool selected, and using scroll bar with brushes selected.
Any ideas how I can use the hand tool on only one layer? I;ve never had this problem before, on this computer (with earlier versions) or any other.

I assume that you found the Move Tool, and that all is working, as you wish now.

I've just bought Photoshop CC and the spacebar shortcut for the hand tool isn't working?

I've googled solutions for the problem and most of them say that I need to close down the other programmes I have open, as well as photoshop, and then restart the programme so I tried this and nothing seems to work. The hand tool by itself works but I much prefer using the spacebar shortcut as I need to work fast and it's much easier.
Is there a way I need to activate the spacebar shortcut seeing as I bought the software this morning?

I had this same issue and a restart would NOT fix the problem, neither would reseting the prefs, or any of the other solutions mentioned in this post. I discovered the problem to be the Terminal application was automatically opening on login, which had the "Secure Keyboard Entry" option enabled. (Terminal menu item->Secure Keyboard Entry (check marked)) If I quit Terminal without disabling "Secure Keyboard Entry", the spacebar in Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop would work as expected. Although, if I restarted with Terminal still loading automatically with "Secure Keyboard Entry" enabled then the spacebar would NOT work until I quit the Terminal app. The problem is that when the computer logs into the user account and starts the Terminal app it hides the keyboard entry from other applications. Somehow Adobe products are now sensitive to this and the spacebar stops working as is should. So, the solution is to either make sure Terminal is not to load automatically at login, or disable the "Secure Keyboard Entry" option in Terminal and only enable it as needed. Be sure to disable it when your are no longer using the terminal. I have never seen this before and have been using Adobe products on OS X since its release, but I have not always used the Terminal as I do now in such a secure way. Thanks again governments and criminals for even further complicating our lives!
