Handling Italian Character ( any other Special Character)

Hi Experts,
We have the scenaria of IDoc to EDI conversion and in my EDI i get some Special characters like Italian or Russian character.
So in the Receiver Communication Channal , I have given the File encoding as ISO8859_5 . But it is still not working.
Can any one help me reading these characters in my CC.
Thanks
Lakshmi S

Hi Rajesh,
Thanks for your answers... but i tried all that option and also tried using XSLT mapping as well ..nothing worked out..
It seems to be Russian characters...
in the Payload i see the actual character but when it passess the CC it is writing something else instead of that characters..

  • How to handle national character set datatypes in oracle?

    Hi
Can anyone tell me how to handle national character set datatypes in oracle?
    Thanks in advance

And for data manipulation, append "N" the literal values being used in the command.
The "N" indicates that the string is to be treated as Unicode Text.
    For Example: insert into TableName (ColumnName) values (N'ValueToBeInserted');

  • SQL*Loader handle unicode character

    Hi all,
We are using Oracle 7.3.4 in HP-UX, we use sql loader to import some text file.
In the text file, some time it contain Unicode or Chinese Character, the Unicode character always use more than 1 byte each. How can I code the ctrl file or any other method to avoid error such as 'maximum length exceed'.
    Thanks,
    Jasper

2.- I move the files to Oracle server Open and see the file at this level, you may find the junk characters appended at every line. This occurs due to file transfer. (if so which mode you used while transfering the file?)
    Workaround:
Try moving files through Binary mode

  • FCP on an iMac or any other software that handles 24p

    Gentlefolks,
I'm researching a video editing computer + software and would really like to move to a Mac but for a number of reasons I would like to get an iMac instead of a Mac Pro (not just the price). From what I've seen, FCE would work for me except for one thing: it doesn't support 24p
(iMovie is very limited for what I want to do)
I would even consider FCP but it seems an iMac is not the recommended machine for it, even if you spec it out to 4Gb RAM.
So, my question is, is there any other software for the Mac that supports 24p (plus High Def) and will run comfortably on an iMac?
BTW, the camera I'm considering is the Cannon HV20.
Thank you in advance for any comments.
    Regards,
    Ismenio

FCP will run on an iMac...it just isn't the optimal machine for this. Main reason is the fact that there is only ONE firewire bus for all your ports. So to capture DV, HDV or DVCPRO HD you use that same bus for the camera/deck and for the hard drive...meaning more possibilies of dropped frames when capturing. But, that being said, an iMac can handle any of those formats just fine...24p too. There are NO SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS for handling 24p. It is actually easier on the system. Less frames per second, less data rate.
BUT...the HV20 and it's 24f format....that is another beast. It shoots 24f in a 1080i60 data stream, so you need to capture it as 1080i60 at 29.97fps. (there is an Easy Setup for that). The 24p footage is then obtained AFTERWARDS by using Compressor or Cinema Tools...both only available with FCP.
    Here's the workflow:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=306389
I owned this camera for all of 36 hours. And had no problems capturing or doing this workflow. Why did I return it? That focus 'knob" drove me NUTS! But, I had no problems with that camera.

  • How can I get firefox 4 to stop prompting for handling of a file type? I have already set "always automatically do this" and checked application preferences. Any other things to try?

I am using FF4 to download some .nzb files. I just want it to open the appropriate application when I click to download the .nzb file. Instead, I get prompted each time. this wasn't a problem on beta FF4. I also verified my application settings. Also, not a problem in Chrome or IE . . .

I finally found a solution to this problem. Simply install the InlineDisposition extension:
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/inlinedisposition/
Sites like Binsearch will now load nzb files into Newsbin (or any other usenet reader) automatically without the user getting the "What should Firefox do with this file?" prompt every time after you've already checked "Do this automatically for files like this from now on"

  • Are there any other Print on Demand services in Australia other than Blurb?

I have started looking at making a Photobook as a gift for someone, and am wondering if there are any other Print on Demand services in Australia.
I am only asking as I found that the shipping cost for the book I am designing almost doubles the cost.
Other services that I have come across are:
xlibris - too expensive to set-up for a 1 off book
    publish-me - does not appear to do 1 off's
momentopro - need an ABN to use their service
    Any ideas?

This may be more advanced than what you're ready for, but this is one way to do it
    http://blog.iconara.net/2008/03/30/separating-event-handling-from-event-filtering/
I've actually done this with a "chain of responsibility," where each link has a determineResponsibility callback and handleResponsibility callback. If it doesn't handle the responsibility (because it's not responsible), it sends the request on to the next link in the chain, which handles it or doesn't. If you're not familiar with a callback, it's a variable of type Function so that you can change what function gets called at various times.
To clarify, you'd hand the first link in the chain a reference to the event, then call something like a process() method with a reference to the Event. This would call determineResponsibility(), which would look at the event to see if the characteristics of the event are what you want. If it returns true, it would call handleResponsibility(). If it returns false, you would call process() on the next link. The advantage of this design is that you can add and remove links as needed to handle changing needs in your system. For example, if the character hits something that disables right movement until the user hits the left arrow, remove the right arrow link until the user hits the left arrow, then put it back.

  • 10g won't recognize ellipsis and other special characters.

I'm trying to insert data into both VARCHAR2 and CLOB columns that contains characters such as ellipsis and other special characters. Oracle doesn't recognize the characters and just converts it to garbage. Is there a way to make Oracle easily recognize these characters?
For example, it won't recognize the following ellipsis in the string:
"Here we are … right now."

My bad...I did look at the national character set instead.
When I performed theq query you posted, I got the following:
    NLS_CHARACTERSET
    WE8MSWIN1252
    NLS_NCHAR_CHARACTERSET
    AL16UTF16
I hope this new information helps. Also, the tool involved is SQL *Plus, but I'm currently concentrated on getting the insert to work via JDBC. Thanks in advance.

Hello, check in the character panel (window>Character) or (type>panels>character) it seems that your faux italic option is activated.

  • E72: Swedish and other special characters not work...

When I send mail through MfE, swedish and other special characters do not reach the recipient, they are just ignored. No blanks or nothing. Every word with a swedish character ends up one letter short.
Before the firmware upgrade this was intermittent, happening only on about half of my mails.
Now I upgraded yesterday, and it seems the problem is now permanent.
Have seen similar posts from E75 and E90 owners, their problems seem to have been fixed by newer firmware.
Our setup is: Exchange 2003, Portwise authentication.
All other phone models work fine, like iPhone, E71 etc.
    /Sebastian

After some testing I found out that if I use swedish chars in the subject line, it works fine. Even in the mail body.
If I don't use swedish chars in the subject, they won't work in the body. I either get garbage or nothing where the swedish chars should be.
The problem doesn't exist at all in my private IMAP mail account.
Could someone who uses Mail for Exchange and have special chars in their alphabet (swedish, finnish, german, hungarian etc) pls tell me how it's working out for you?

  • My ipod was stolen. Can i find with the GPS? If not is there any other way?

My ipod touch was stolen out of my locker.  I have all things to prove its my ipod touch. (original box & serial number)  I was hoping that it could be tracked by the GPS or some other method.  I hope so because I do not have money to buy another one.  Plus it was a gift from someone special so i would like to get this back.  If you have any other methods please let me know.  Thank you so much!

You could find it, if you did install "Find my phone" before it was stolen. But you would have to own a ipod touch 4G, an iphone4 or an ipad to install it. See this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4436
