Handouts - Selective Object Printing

Question

I need the ability to print selected slide objects without regard to builds or masters. In order to present printed notes, selected text needs to be printed. Keynote only offers none or all slide builds. More control is needed for class handouts. Ideas ??

I don't believe there is any way to designate which objects will be printed and which won't.
However, if the builds you want to hide are all at the end of the slide builds, then here's a workaround:
- For slides where you only want to reveal certain info on the handouts, create two slides, one that has the info to be printed, and one that has the further information. (With appropriate transitions, it will not be apparent when presenting that these are two different slides, instead of one slide with multiple builds).
- When you are ready to print handout, select the slides you don't want to print out in the Slide Viewer. Note that you can select multiple discontiguous slides by holding down the command key (aka "Apple key") while clicking.
- From the Slide menu, choose Skip Slide. This will collapse the indicated slides down in the Slide Viewer.
- When you go to print your handouts, in the Print dialog dropdown menu, select Keynote, and ensure that Include Skipped Slides is not checked.
These procedures will let you print your handouts without the "hidden" slides. When you are ready to present, just select all the slides in the Slide Viewer, and "unskip" all the slides by choosing that menu item twice (once will collapse all the slides, and a second time will unskip them all).
