Hands Free problems since ios7

Since upgrading my iphone 4s to ios7 I cant use hands free in my (09) Mercedes A Class as the phone is not compatible!  Its been fine up to now, any ideas on a fix as I need this pdq for work?

I have also had no end of trouble with it with my bluetooth also and the same thing happened when I 'upgraded' to IOS 6 when that came out.  I have tried forgetting the device and re-pairing a number of times and that has not worked.  I have the seperate Mercedes bluetooth unit that sits in the centre console (black device with a blue flashing light) in my 2008 ML.
The issues for me can vary, but it will switch automatically from the iphone to the car kit during calls, will not be able to be answered through the phone or car buttons.  Will also remain paired to the car for several hours after the car has been turned off and I'm inside.  I have even had a situation where I tried dialling through the car key pad as going through the phone wasn't working and I got the message "call not possible" on the screen in the car and literally 10 minutes later the phone started dialling the number and connected?!??!
Funnily enough it is slowly getting a little better, particularly for dialling out, however, receiving calls is a lottery and usually does not work.  It seems easier to simply use the speaker function on the phone, which is not ideal.
I have contacted Mercedes dealer and they have had a few issues with the bluetooth pairing with the new iPhones, but no software update as far as I can find.  Would love to see this resolved soon!!

  • Left speaker problems since iOS7 7upgrade

I recently upgraded to iOS7 on my iphone 5 and since that time, the left speaker system is muted on the left side to include the headphone plug in port, the actual speakers and blue tooth to my car audio.  II did a factory reset and even have replaced my phone (as it was under warranty) with the same issue.  My previous phone worked perfectly with iOS5 with both speakers having equal sound, but since the upgrade, the left side is markedly muted to no sound.  Anyone with similar problems since upgrade?

I have tried 3 different headphones, which didn't change.  The headphone port shouldn't effect the blue tooth connection to my car, thus I think this is more of a software problem....plus the brand new phone i got is doing the same thing afte iOS7 installation.

  • Is anyone having problems with connecting to your car's Bluetooth Hands Free System since installing iOS 8.1?

I have an iPhone 4S and I just installed iOS 8.1. Now I am having issues maintaining my connection to my Car's built-in Bluetooth System. I have a 2013 VW Passat with the stock Fender, Audio, NAV & Handsfree System.
I can establish a connection, but lose it almost as fast. I'm wondering if something changed with my iPhone's Bluetooth settings with iOS 8.1. I never had any issues before upgrading.
I'm just wondering if anyone out there is having the same problem that I am having.
    Thanks,
    Greg Landry

There are a number of reports from people with VW vehicles. Try removing the phone from the list in the car. Then, remove the vehicle from the list in the phone. Do a reset on the phone, hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. After the phone reboots, put the devices into discovery/pairing mode and see if they will connect. Otherwise, you might do a search of the forum looking for issues with VW vehicles.

  • IPhone 4s problems since iOS7

Ever since I upgraded my iPhone 4s to iOS7, my wifi chip has since died, my iPhone burns incredibly hot, my bluetooth connectivity is intermittent, my battery literally drains as I watch it and it takes about 20 seconds for Settings to open when I hit the app.  I loved my iPhone for the past year and a half, and now it's a nuisance to me.  Apple has confirmed the death of my wifi chip and actually said that it was probably dying before the update.  Seriously?  Verizon won't do anything either.  Incredibly frustrated at Apple for pushing out an iOS that wasn't tested properly and not acknowledging the problem with a solution.  This same problem is all over the forums!  Not cool, Apple.

I have. In fact, I've tried everything short of replacing the wifi chip by myself. No amount of restores, rebuilds or time in the freezer has resolved my issues. My iPhone has congestive heart failure and is in its last stages. I'm limping through til my upgrade in January. Just wish Apple would own it.

  • HDMI mirroring problems since IOS7 update

    Hello
I use I pad 2 with an HDMI cable and adapter to connect to my Panasonic TV for the larger screen.
Since the update, Facetime has no sound to the TV and then the picture cuts out after a few minutes.
BT Sport has sound and vision to the TV but both cut out after a few minutes.
The I pad continues as normal.
I have not tried streaming a movie but I assume it will be the same.
Has any one else had or solved this problem?
The latest bug fix did nothing to resolve this problem.
    Thanks
    Brian

  • Why does my ipad 2 have so many stability problems since ios7?

Since "upgrading" to ios7 my ipad has effectively not worked. There's no app that doesn't randomly crash, games, safari, maps, youtube all just shut down and return to the home screen. None of this happened before the update, which I put off because so many people told me it was rubbish, and it looks suspicially like the update is designed to make my hardware obsolete before it's time. This situation is infuriating me regularly. I can't play a single song or read an article without applications crashing. If this is the way apple works, I'm definitely buying a samsung tablet and phone to replace this. I'm astounded that Safari hasn't crashed while i write this.

What I would suggest is that you do a full back up of your device. Then go into the settings and 'erase all content and settings'. Which puts your iPad back as if it was new out of the box (you'll still have iOS7 but it's like doing a fresh install)
Then restore your ipad from the backup that you just made.
It's possible that during the upgrade something got messed up, which is causing the crashing. Starting over may help because it'll write over any errors.
Just make sure you do the backup because when you erase it, that's just what it does, erases everything. Anything not backed up will be lost.

  • Bluetooth car hands free problem

Can pair with both cars (Prius and Lexus), but no audio during phonecalls. Playback media through Bluetooth is no problem. Any solution?

    Found a fix.
Switch off "Sync Contacts" in the car's Bluetooth profile on the iPhone. Try to make a call. If it works, switch back on "Sync Contacts" and everything should work fine now.

  • Hands free problem

Have a Bury car kit installed and have used it without problem with a 6820. Have changed the cradle to suit my new 6020 but does not cut out car radio when ringing. Manual tells tyou to go to enhancement setting but this does not appear on the phone menu. Please help

As a fellow Yorkshire man and an expert on bury kits i can tell you that the radio mute had nothing to do with the phone settings. Did it work ok before?. have you tried to remove and refit the cradle just in case its not located properly. Dose the new phone and cradle work with everything else?.

  • Problems with 2011 Kia Forte hands free following upgrade to ios 7.1

I have had nothing but problems with the Bluetooth hands free feature in my 2011 Kia Forte ever since I upgraded to IOS7.1. I have removed and repaired the device to no avail. I have discovered the following behavior through the troubleshooting I have done so far:
If I use hands free to dial, the phone will dial but nothing is heard on either end of the call. If I switch the audio feed from the car to iPhone, both parties can then talk, but as soon as I switch it back to the car there is silence on both ends. I have determined that streaming Bluetooth audio still works in my car in spite of the hands free issues. I can switch audio back and forth during the entirety of the call and as long as audio is set to either iPhone or speaker it works, it just won't work when the car is selected.
I have checked and there is no new firmware available from Kia for my vehicle's Bluetooth.
    Any thoughts?

Same problem for me after the update. No matter what movie I try to download, it stalls halfway.  Interestingly, could be a wider iTunes issue as I ended up with the same problem trying to download movies to my MacBook Air.

  • When my iPhone 4S (with ios7) experiences a failed call while connected to my Bluetooth hands free in my car(screen locked) the failed call appears on the locked screen, as it should, then when I unlock the phone it automatically redials the failed call,

When my iPhone 4S (with ios7) experiences a failed call while connected to my Bluetooth hands free in my car(screen locked) the failed call appears on the locked screen, as it should, the problem arises whenever I unlock the phone, it automatically redials the last failed call, it doesn't do this with missed calls that are on the locked screen, if any. It is really annoying as sometimes the phone doesn't respond to attempts to end the call before it connects to the number. I then have to explain that it was my phone and not me, I look like an idiot, which I don't really need any extra help with!! Does anyone have any ideas? I don't want to stop missed call from showing in the locked screen but it might be associated with the failed calls and therefore be the only resolution

I have had the same issue which was driving me mad but think I have just found a way around it. In iOS 7 if you swipe up on the lock screen to access quick settings and go into timer then click the home button you get into the phone without calling the person back. Not a great 'fix' but hope it works for you. Come on Apple this isn't good enough, fix this bug otherwise you will lose your customers.
