Hands-on Lab (Session S318544) Implementing Oracle Spatial Web Services

Hello Siva Ravada,
Could you please tell me where I can get all the sql scripts that are mentioned/needed for Hands-on Lab (Session S318544)? Thank you much.

Hi,-
Similar to the value what the default basic_domain comes with WebLogic Server.
Hope this helps.
Sure, we will send if you send email to me at baris dot kazar at oracle dot com.
Thanks

  • Oracle Spatial Web Services in ADF application

    Hi,
    I want to use Oracle Spatial Web Services in an ADF application (JDeveloper 11.1.2) to retrieve Longitude/Latitude after inserting/upating an address record.
    Is there any sample app or documentation on how to do this?
    Thank you,
    Monica

    I never did solve the problem. I decided to try out GeoServer for WFS and am very impressed. It was much easier to install and pretty feature-filled as well with a lot of documentation. I would definitely suggest checking it out to see if it will fit your needs.

  • "Running Oracle Spatial Web Services" tutorial error

    Hi,
    I am currently working on setting up the WFS service with OC4J. I completed the initial tutorial to set it up and everything went well. I am now trying to run the WFS demos from WSCLIENT and using this tutorial: http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/11gr1_db/datamgmt/spatialws/spatialws.htm.
    I just focused on the WFS Relational features and did the following:
    Ran @wfsrelmd.sql and users/tables/grants were all successful.
    Ran compileAndRunClient.bat runwfsct and the feature was created successfully.
    Ran compileAndRunClient.bat runwfsrel and received the following error in the OC4J server shell:
    "Starting OC4J from C:\oc4j\j2ee\home ...

  • Implementation of Asynchronous Web Services using JDeveloper

    Various articles and tutorials, which I have read, are talking about asynchronous BPEL processes. These asynch BPEL processes are result of the orchestration of different synch and asynch atomic services (web services in specific). There are even tutorials as part of Oracle SOA Suite and JDeveloper explaining how to consume asynchronous services in a BPEL process. Well and good.
    But unfortunately I haven’t seen any tutorial or article talks about the implementation of asynchronous web services (How to implement an asynchronous service?). All what they talk about is the consumption side of it and the applicability of WS-Addressing or Correlation ID for the consumption of the Service.
    As part of my research, I delved further into the sample BPEL processes comes out with Oracle BPEL Process Manager. For example; I have had a look into the Asynchronous Loan Processor process, where it is orchestrating a Synch Credit Rating Service and three asynch services namely Star Loan, United Loan and American Loans. But as I delved down into those, I realized that these services are simply BPEL Processes where it is implemented as a sequence of Receive, Assign and Invoke activities, where each of the activities does the following.
    Receive -- Receives the request from the client
    Assign -- Does some manipulation on the Input variable and set the output variable
    Invoke -- Invokes the client back (call back)
    These kinds of asynch services are pretty fine to demonstrate theory.
    But if we put ourselves more into practical scenarios, where we invoke a service from some application and the result of that invocation shall happen after some time (minutes to hours) in the form of a callback. In that case we WON’T be able to realize the service simply by a simple BPEL Process, rather we will have to implement as a Web Service with two port types implemented, where one port type is for the request and another one for the callback.
    I do understand these kinds of services can be implemented using JAX-WS.
    Question Here: How I do it using Oracle JDeveloper and Oracle Application Server???
    If anyone have done it, the REAL implementation of ASYNCH Web Services *(NOT BY USING BPEL or BPEL Wrapper)* using JDeveloper to deploy on Oracle Application Server or on Oracle SOA Suite, please post the know-how. If someone else is interested in taking it forward, we can take it further together.
    -Sudheer
    P.S: I am NOT at all interested in theory, as I had enough. Here I don’t want to be Conceptual; rather I am talking about hands-on.

    Hi Sudheer,
    I am not sure if this will help you
    If you take Oracle SOA Suite Order Booking Tutorial and go to Chapter 5 Creating the CreditService Project ( http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31017_01/core.1013/b28937/creditservice.htm ), you learn how to create a synchronous Web service from a WSDL file.
    If you take the wsdl and delete output and fault tags (you can see it below) and follow the steps you'll generate an asynchronous web service.
    The generated Java method will be a void method
    public class ValidateCreditCardImpl {
    public void verifyCC(CreditCard creditCard) {
    Inside this void method you can try to call to a Receive BPEL Activity.
    I hope this will be useful . Regards,
    J

  • WS-I fails with Oracle Generated Web Service

    Any ideas?

    I successfully developed the oracle native web service for returning single record but the next challenge is to develop web service in order to return multiple record (like Employees data base on each department)You could return a list (multiple values/records) in XML format (using XMLType or CLOB), or CSV, or JSON, or whatever.

    Hi,
    I have participated in the hand on lab for Oracle Spatial + Map Viewer + Ajax + APEX. It was said there that the demo will be soon dowloadable from OTN. Is it know when will this happen?
    TIA,
    Tamas

    Are you using the latest production 10.1.3.1 MapViewer? which browser are you using? Can you open the page in FireFox and post any error messages from its JavaScript console? without these info it's hard to know what might have gone wrong. The JavaScript console is found under FireFox's menu Tools -> JavaScript console (or Error console in the latest version). You may need to clear it first before opening your application.
    For instance, it might be due to some typo when you are adding/defining the search tool bar on top of the map. More specifically, the "go" and "clear" buttons invoke javaScript functions defined in p1.js. if you make a typo when creating these buttons the JavaScript function may not be called at all which means you won't be able to draw the search area on the map. not saying this is the cause, but it is one of many things that could go wrong, and without any meaningful error messages we have no way to help you.

  • How to install and configure spatial web services (sdows.ear) of Oracle 11g R1 (Version 11.1.0.6.0) on Web Logic Server  (Version 10.3.3.0)?

    I need to deploy location based service (Directory Service and Route Service). My database is in Oracle 11gR1 (Version 11.1.0.6.0). The application is deployed on Weblogic Server (Version 10.3.3.0).

    May I humbly request for the solution at the earliest.

  • NoSuchMethodException calling a session bean method from a web service

    I am running on NetWeaver 6.40 SP10 on Windows.
    I have a Java class (not a SessionBean) exposed as a web service where I invoke a session bean method with an argument that is another Java class (basically, just a JavaBean with some getters and setters).  I am getting a strange reflection-related error when I invoke a session bean method.  The exception I see is a 'java.lang.reflect.UndeclaredThrowableException', and if I unwrap it with 'ex.getCause()', I see 'java.lang.NoSuchMethodException: com.xx.ejb.PersistentObjectSBObjectImpl0.createR3Config(com.xx.common.R3Config)'
    I have spent several days trying to come up with a testcase for this, but to no avail.  The calling class is:

    import com.xx.ejb.*;

                        PersistentObjectSBHome.class);
              return poSBHome.create();
    --- end R3UpdateTest.java ---
    If I change the createR3Config() method to take an argument of class 'Object' instead of an argument of class 'R3Config', and then cast the object back into an R3Config in the method body, it all works fine.
    Any clues, anyone?

    Sure, I can show them to you.  They are very similar to a couple of non-DC classes/projects I put together to try and duplicate the problem.
    First, the interface, PersistentObjectSB.java:
    package com.xx.ejb;
    import javax.ejb.EJBObject;

    And the implementation, PersistentObjectSBBean.java:

  • Implementing authentication for web services

    Hi all,
    I'm struggling trying to guess how to implement basic HTTP authentication as well as using certificates in order to apply HTTPS, for some web services we've created, running on the Oracle Application Server 10.1.12. The web services were implemented using JDeveloper 9.0.4. Any help would be very appreciated.
    Thanks in advanced and regards,

    Hi,
    But, I need to develop the web services logon method using WSDL which generated the LogonBindingImpl.java, instead of web services using EJB bean.
    Besides, the Web Service logon method (LogonBindingImpl.java) need to accept the input user name and password to check with the user name and password that stored in database table through the EJB bean. If checking successful, client program is allowed to invoke other WebServices method, else login failed exception need to be thrown when client calling other web services methods.
    Appreciate the advice here on how to achieve that. Thanks.
