Hang or black screen with warcraft 3

Question

hello,
i'm havin problems with warcraft 3, sometimes i could play long hours but it hang on me for i think 3 times now.  this hasnt happened before unitl i installed driver 1.12 and detonator 40
the first time it happened, the screen went black, the monitor is on, it did not standby, no keys are responding, even ctrl-alt-del, so i hang, had to restart....
second time...the same
then the last time,it did not turn black but just stopped....could it be the drivers?
too bad, i didnt save my game

1. Extract the 1.13 driver package in a folder using Winrar.
2. Use the device manager, select the properties bar on the "Direct memory access controller" and then choose to update driver. Select that you do not wish it to automatically install driver, and select that you want to chose which driver to install, then select have disk and point it to the nvmemctl.inf file in the folder MemCtl that is the folder where you extracted the driver package.
3. Select any of the memory controllers there (420D), and it should install the others itself.
4. If all is successful you should then have the following devices in the Device manager under System Devices;
Nvidia nForce 220/415/420 Memory Controller
Nvidia nForce 220/415/420 Memory Controller
Nvidia nForce 415/420 Memory Controller (DDR)
Nvidia nForce 415/420 Memory Controller (DDR)
I hope that solves it.
Remember that running any updates from windows update seems to change some of the driver files, and that upsets them. So after having run windows update, if the black screens reoccur reinstall the memory controllers. It might be a good idea to do anyway if you have run windows update.
