I do not know what to do, Premiere1.5 is freezing and I look at Event Viewer at Application error and this is what I see.
Hanging application Adobe Premiere Pro.exe, version 1.5.0.0, hang module hungapp, version 0.0.0.0, hang address 0x00000000.
I assume that this app hang is a recent development. Is that correct? What has changed on your system, since it last ran well? Any new hardware, or software? Anything with VST plug-ins? Any trial of any Audio editing programs, or maybe Native Instruments? I do not have PrPro 1.5, so this might be different, but, as the program loads, there is a little line of text, below the Adobe Logo. It's small, and goes by pretty quickly. If you get that, look closely and try to see what the last line of text is, before the program hangs. It is likely that the last line will tell you what PrPro is trying to load. Might give you a clue. It could also be whatever the "next" .dll, or whatever, that is causing your problem. Still, you'll have some place to start looking. Unfortunately, the hungapp messages do not yield much useful data, if at all. Do you get a link on the Event Viewer's error message box? Sometimes, those links actually provide useful info, though not as often as I'd like.
Good luck,
Hunt

PP 6.03 will not restart after closing program. When I try to re-start nothing happens when clicking on the PP6 icon. Looked in task manager and found that Adobe Premiere Pro.exe and Dynamiclinkmanager.exe *32 are not stopping after closing program. Once I manually stop the processes PP will restart as normal. This is on Win 7 Sp1, HP Elitebook 8760W Matrox MXO2 LE. Also Audio meters are not active during capture, can't change clip name during capture.
Hello Elcuad, and Canino video,
Please verify the following steps and report back your findings:
- uninstall the currently installed MXO2 effects and drivers
- go to control panel - user accounts - and locate the account you are using, then drop down the UAC level all the way, ok and reboot
- download our 7.02 driver with Internet Explorer, followed by our effects
- after the files are downloaded, right click each file, go to properties, and confirm they are not blocked, if they are click the unblock button
- reinstall the Matrox driver, again, the one we just downloaded, followed by the effects, reboot
- go to start, all programs and locate the premiere icon, hold shift and ctrl keys down, and launch this particular icon, keeping the keys down until the application opens up
- please build a new project and try it out -
I have Adobe Video Collection V2.6. (Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5).
All of the collection will load on my system except Adobe Premier Pro.
My system is:
Dell Precision 670 Work Station
Intel Xeon CPU 3.2GHz
3.19 GHz, 2.00 GB of RAM
MS Windows XP
Professional x64 Edition
Version 2003
Service pack 2, v.4566
When I try to load Adobe Premiere Pro I am presented with the follow statement:
Runtime Error
Program…iles (86)Adobe\Premiere Pro 1.5\Adobe Premiere Pro.exe
Question: How do I correct the Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5 Runtime Error? Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.
NotAProBill and Harm,
I spent 16 hours yesterday blending everything from Microsoft and Dell that
I could find relating to my problem. During all of this I lost all sound,
including playback and record on Adobe Audition 3 on another partition. I
worked until midnight last night and came back to my computer this morning
at 2:00 AM to continue. When I turned on the computer and checked, all of
the icons for the CD & DVD units, internet phone were in place and
everything worked. Adobe Audition now records and plays back...just like old
times. I have no idea which of the changes I made corrected my problem but
the problem is solved. Just wanted you gentlemen to know. It is reassuring
to know that there are folks “out there” a novice can count on. I will now
add the 8 GB of RAM but will not move to Windows 7 as yet. Thanks again for
your help.

I'm have problems Importing with the Adobe Premiere Pro (original version upgrade
Hi all. I’m having a similar problem that I've seen posted on here but I have Adobe Premiere Pro (the first version upgrade.) I upgraded it from Premiere 5.0. Every time I try to import some Mpeg files to edit, it freezes up and crashes. I’m wondering if someone could help me. My computer specs are below:
(1) Mini-Tower mATX Chassis w/300W PS 865G Motherboard
(1) Windows XP Professional Edition with Service Pack 2
(1) Intel Pentium 4 Processor 3.2 GHz 512K 800FSB w/ HT
(1) DDR333 PC2700 Non-ECC Memory sticks (512MB x 2 and two one gigs)
(1) 120GB Ultra ATA (7200rpm) Hard Drive
(1) GeForce 4 Ti4200-8x 128MB AGP Card w/ TV-Out
Thanks,
Peter
[email protected]Thank you Eddy. I appreciate all the help and feedback I get from the website.
Also, someone suggested I convert the Mpegs to AVI files first. What do you know about AVS Video Remaker download to use to convert it???
Thanks and Regards,

I have administrator rights to the computer. The drivers are up to date. But I am still getting the error message "Adobe Premiere Pro could not find any capable video play modules. Please update your video display drivers and start again" when opening Premier Pro CS5.5. This appears to have happed after I upgraded to Mac OS 10.10.2.
Anyone?
ThanksHi Stan.
I had the same problem as you did though I am using Adobe CC. I saw nobody replied to you so perhaps my eventual success on my later version may have applications to the error on your version.
Anyhow, I did all the suggestions found here (Error "Premiere Pro could not find any capable video play modules" | Startup ) first and updated my NVidea card to no avail. Eventually what did the trick was this...
After mucking about with the video card, I said "OK lets just have a go at Premiere itself." So I uninstalled Premiere CC and reinstalled it. Now for some reason it didn't give me the latest patch but a slightly earlier version than the current one but lo and behold it was fine with the video card again. I was able to get my friend's video imported and quickly edited but then was having some issues with exporting where it would hang up but I went into Adobe Media Encoder and exported it there without a care. That task out of the way, I then went and made the update to the latest patch and it works perfectly fine - no video driver issues.
So short of it is this - if you've updated your drivers, perhaps what you could try uninstalling and reinstalling Premiere.
Let me know if this works.
Cheers and good luck -
I updated to Premiere Pro CC 2014, all the other Adobe CC 2014 software works great, but Premiere doesnt even load. The starting page (frame) comes up - my whole computer slows down and after a minute or two it crashes completely and comes up with the message : "Adobe Premiere Pro could not find any capable video play modules. Please update your video display drivers and start again."
I'm running a macbook Pro 15" (2014) with 16GB RAM and 760GB SSD.

Do you have any other Creative Cloud apps installed and, if so, do they launch? -
Adobe Premiere Pro CC does not open project - just hangs, no error message
I've just finished editing a project in PP CC, saved it, then tried to reopen it and the program shows a blank page, then hangs. I get no error message.
The project is based off a PP 5.5 timeline. It updates fine (and in fact I can open and convert the original timeline with no problem). However, once I close the new version and try to reopen, this symptom occurs.
I have updated my Creative Cloud software and it shows the Premiere Pro is up to date.
My computer is an ASUS laptop running Windows 8.1 Pro
i5 processor
8GB RAM
NVidea Geforce 610M+2GB graphics card
Need help as I have to have this project output and uploaded by 8am tomorrow. This is a follow up to my original post and follow up. I've now seen this issue several more times and realize it was not an issue with my USB drive. It is an issue with the Dynamic Linking in Premiere. I consider this a MAJOR BUG, so please note what I've found if you have an issue with archiving or opening projects done with previous versions of PP.
The issue I've found is that Premiere seems to lock up trying to find dead media links. If you've archived a project or moved files from their original position, Premiere CC cannot seem to find them. The result is not a system hang up, but just a blank screen. In some cases, after leaving it for a couple hours it found the media and continued.
I've had a similar issue when trying to link 'dead' media with the actual files. The system goes off into neverland.
The work around I've found is to import the older jobs into a new Premiere CC project. At that point, replace any dead links (do NOT try and find the media as you'll be lost in hangupville) by importing the media again and replacing the clip in the sequence with the new import from the bin. Once all your media is 'live', remove any unused media from the project and confirm there are no 'dead' links (you can look at the media icon and notice a ? if they are not dynamically linked properly). Manually clear any remaining unlinked media. Save the project.
I have started to use Project Manager to archive all Premiere projects when moving them from one server to another.
This is a total pain in the @ss, and nothing I've seen before Creative Cloud. I hope that Adobe gets this resolved or I may consider dropping my subscriptions completely. That is a huge investment, but this type of issue is too much trouble to manage for a small production company.
I welcome any other thoughts, fixes, or comments. -

"Adobe Premiere Pro.exe" process does not terminate on application exit
Hello,
I just started using Premeire Pro CS5 on my Windows 7 64 machine and noticed that if I create an new project or open an existing project and then exit Permeire Pro the process is left running consuming CPU resources and memory until I manually kill it through task manager. I don't get any errors and the application looks like it is terminating normally. If I just open Premiere and hit the exit button without opening or creating a project the process terminates successfully. A new process is created every time I open Premiere. If I don't terminate them they pile up and each one is reported to consume the exact same amount of CPU resources. The software seems to be working fine other than that but it is a pretty big issue and I am glad that I have a CPU monitor on my desktop otherwise I would not have noticed the zombie processes until my system started to show signs of stress.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
AndrewThis was posted and mostly answered in another forum, and the issue has been determined to be drivers.
Others have this issue and the two main items to check are the audio and video drivers. I am using a Toshiba Qosmio, so rather then using the Toshiba video drivers I installed the latest Nvidia drivers from the Nvidia site (not the supplied Toshiba drivers) and it then worked correctly. Others had reported issues around audio drivers written by system manufacturers and not the hardware manufacturers.
So in summary, is not a great answer because it means you have to fiddle around with the drivers. Figure out exactly what video and audio hardware you are running and install the drivers directly from the people that make it, not the people that sold you the system.
Since you are configuring at that level I highly recommend getting the latest BIOS update for the system too. My system has been out for over a year and a BIOS release that just came out brightened the screen and now it's like a new display and the colors are more accurate. Just don't goof during a BIOS update.
And there you have it. -

I am having the same problem, just out of the blue. Earlier this week Premiere worked fine, today it stopped in start-up while loading windows media and displayed this message.
I did not change my video drivers, neither to an earlier version nor a newer version. I remember an update for AME got installed automatically, though.
After a restart of my computer PP worked, closed it and restarted PP. Got the above error. Now even after a restart of the computer PP gives me the error messages.
AE starts fine, by the way.
