Hangs a while on NVRAM check, then reboots.

Hi,
As the topic mentioned, my computer boots and it starts checking NVRAM as normally. However, since I updated to BIOS 2.20 it hangs for a while on checking the NVRAM. After ~10 seconds the computer reboots and continues as normal (where checking the NVRAM is done instantly).
Furthermore, the computer crashes every now and then (BSOD/Reboot, depending how I set 'what to do on errors' in Windows). I've seen this problem discussed several times and tried the advices given in those topics. However, no result. It's hard to say if something worked or not, because it happens irregularly (sometimes it works for a week without crashes, sometimes multiple times a day).
Things I did so far:
Set DDR Voltage to 2.7 and 2.8 (Currently: 2.7)
Memtest ran fine without errors for about 8 hours.
Disabled HT (Currently: Enabled)
Set performance to slow (Currently: Fast)
Cleared NVRAM (through BIOS setting).
System specs:
MSI 865PE Neo2-LS (BIOS 2.20)
Intel P4 2.8GHz, 800FSB (HT enabled, no OC)
Standard PSU 300W, 20A@+3.3v 30A@+5v 13A@+12v
2x512MB TwinMos DDR400
MadView Radeon 9600Pro, 256MB
Creative Live! 5.1 Value
Samsung 120GB SATA, 8MB Cache
NEC ND-2500A DVD ReWriter

CPU temperature: ~60C

Using the built-in ethernet adapter

BSODs, just saying some general information (no driver, or cause whatsoever) and "STOP 0x000000024 ... " message.

This can be a problem with the file(s) that store the extensions registry.
Delete the files extensions.* (extensions.sqlite, extensions.rdf, extensions.cache, extensions.ini) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox [[Profiles|profile folder]] to reset the extensions registry. New files will be created when required.

If you see disabled, not compatible, extensions in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the Tools button at the left side of the Search Bar (or click the "Find Updates" button in older Firefox versions) to do a compatibility check or see if there is an update.

If you set the pref plugin.expose_full_path to true on the about:config page then you see the full path of plugins on the about:plugins page. 
It is best not to leave that pref set to true as it exposes that full path to web servers, so reset that pref to false after you are done with the about:plugins page.

K9A2 Plat. board won't boot past NVRAM check

Just updated my K9A2 board from 1.5 to 1.9 hoping to solve some USB issues that were intermittently occurring when I connect my BB or other USB device (it would cause my primary video card to black out, the card's fan would race, thus forcing a reboot; after which it would be just fine).
However, after a successful flash from MSI Live 4 using windows, a CMOS reset, the system will not boot past NVRAM check with the RAID (10) SB600 controller being used. I have seen it pass NVRAM check when the SB600 controller is off. I've even reset the RAID 10 and nothing is happening to get the BIOS past the NVRAM check.
I've also attempted to use the MSI USB flash utility 1.18 however it stalls out 3/4 of the way through on my other k9A2 system (DOS window disappears at the last stage, last DOS box window shown here: https://forum-en.msi.com/moderator/usbguide/guide4.jpg)
My other K9A2 system is at 1.8 and doesn't have the USB detection problems but it has a Sb600 problem in running all 4 discs detected normally (#4 disc always reports in error even though its running fine, could never figure out why it is not detected and have replaced it 2x, rebuilt it other times as well and it changes the failed disc in the array around so I'm thinking its the controller firmware).
With that being said, is there any way around this NVRAM check? The BIOS looks fine in the system and RAID is detected normally and can be built/deleted etc; just this NVRAM check stalls it out.
Please advise.

IMovie11 hangs, freezes while generating thumbnails

Often after importing MiniDV tapes using iMovie11 the progress bar for generating thumbnails gets to a certain point and then stops. It will remain this way for over a day unless I Force Quit the application.
The event directory and thumbnail directory of the imported tape do not show any recently created files after a while.
A search on the internet revealed one workaround - delete any zero-byte DV files that iMovie creates and reload iMovie.This worked for a couple of tapes but now I am stuck while importing other tapes.
I am not using Stabilization.
As of this writing, I may have narrowed the problem down to the number of DV files that iMovie creates. For some reason, with those other tapes, it creates almost 2000 such files for a simple 90-minute tape. When I delete over a 1000 of the smallest DV files iMovie will complete the generation of thumbnails.
I have not yet tested what happens if I delete over a 1000 of the largest DV files.
If I import the same tape twice, the two imports will produce a different number of DV files, the difference is in the hundreds but both data sets are still too large for iMovie11 to generate thumbnails from.
I have tried using two different camcorders for importing those other tapes without positive results.
I have a new low-end Mac Pro with the OS present as of Oct of last year (when I bought the computer), 8GB of RAM, 600MB of free disk space, and I use a Firewire adapter to convert the 400 mbps connection coming out of the camcorders to the 800 mbps connection integral to my Mac Pro.
I have tried powering down and back up to remove variables involving the OS and Firewire interface.
I have no other movie projects or events present in iMovie when I conduct my imports.
How do I get iMovie11 to stop hanging, freezing while it generates thumbnails?

Absolutely has to be a bug. This isn't a setting or configuration problem. It might even be a Snow Leopard problem. I had the same problems with A2.1.4 on SL as I do with version A3.0.1. Export hangs seem to happen on images that came from my A2 library that was imported into A3 but originally adjusted in A2. These images were imported from scanned TIFF files. If the adjustment mechanism was flawed in prior Aperture versions then Apple needs to create and distribute a utility that converts these images into something that A3 can use.
I will have to revert to A2 running on Leopard until Apple can get this fixed. If I cannot export, there is no point in running the software. On this discussion thread, we are just trying to fly by flapping our arms.

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

When you open Firefox in Safe Mode, it automatically disables your custom settings, themes, and add-ons. THOSE changes are temporary.
However, if you click any of the boxes underneath the line, "You can make some or all of these changes permanent", and then choose "Make Changes and Restart", everything you checked will be forever changed, even when you start Firefox again in 'normal' mode. [See attached image for a preview of the Safe Mode options].
To be clear:
1. If you check any of the boxes but do NOT select "Make changes and restart", those things will not be changed at all in safe mode.
2. If you select any of the boxes and you DO select "Make changes and restart", you will permanently lose any of the items you checked (bookmarks (except for backups), user preferences, etc.).
If you performed the action in step 2 above, you will only be able to restore those things if you have a previously created back-up of your Mozilla Profiles folder (not the same as the Firefox program folder).

Satellite P100 shuts down then reboots

G'day, my laptop boots up fine and then after some time, a couple of minutes to a couple of hours, it will instantly die with no warning, then reboot as though it was a fresh start. There are no errors captured.
I've had the system checked, wiped the hdd, changed the hdd and mem, I'm runnimg XP pro.
it's on now in bios ok, but when in windows it will shut and restart. I don't think that temp is an issue because of the restarts at 4mins. 3yrs running fine, then this.
Any ideas???

If you have already reinstalled Windows, it shouldnt be a software or driver issue. Theoretically it could be shut down due a higher internal temperature. Your notebook is 3 years old so have you already cleaned it? If not its time for that because a notebook should be cleaned every 3-4 months. If you use compressed air spray, you will wonder how much dust comes out. ;)
So before you change anything, clean it firstly. It takes only few minutes and therefore its not necessary to disassemble it.

I think a new account may be the easiest way if you don't have an existing subscription or cloud files for which to keep continuity.

Can also try powering off the home router, then the phone, and then power up the router wait for the signal and then power up the phone and see if he can connect.

Last week, I have encountered the following problem while debugging a UNIX Solaris on a SUN server:
Running the program without memory leak checking goes fine.
Running the program while memory leak checking gives following error message:

I have already mentioned the problem on the SUN forum (as it is dbx related), but as the problem is not solved by installing patches, using more recent dbx versions and, most important, as a "where -l" dbx command reveals that the problem is located within an Oracle file, I start to believe that the problem is not caused by dbx, but by Oracle.

The statement 'while memory leak checking' is not clear. Are u compiling with -g flag or profile flags ? OR using the 'collect' of SUN STUDIO ??
Can u place the complete trace of CORE using the command 'dbx - core' for further analysis.
Are U using any STL 3rd party libraries for Linking ?? .
Place the sample code if possible.
After going through SUN forum , I realize that there can be an imcompatibility with SOLARIS LIBS and Oracle of 64Bit layer. Are compiling in 64bit or 32 bit ?

Assertion_Failed shortdump while activating and checking the transformation

I am getting shortdump while actiavting and check the transformation. Even i am not able to go in Edit mode of the transformation.
I am getting short dump (errior message - Assertion_Failed with Termination occurred in the ABAP program "CL_RSTRAN_GUI_GROUPID==
in "ADD_RULES_TO_GUIRULES".
The main program was "RSAWBN_START ".
In the source code you have the termination point in line 44
of the (Include) program "CL_RSTRAN_GUI_GROUPID=========CM003".),
We are on BI 7.0 with SP 13. I did the process stated in the OSS 998730. But still I am gettin g the same short dump.
Please advise me on this issue.

Hi,
Added new 4 infoobject in cube and written code in End routine. Check went well. But on activation of transformation for first time system given short dump as mentioned in mail.
From that onwards even i am not able to go in EDIT mode of that transformation.
When i am checking that transformation it giving the Message_type _x shortdump.
When i am trying to go in edit mode it giving Assertion_failed.
I am not sure what went wrong with that transformation.
