Hangs on BIOS sign-on with buzz

First my stats:
K8N - 3 memory sticks (2x 512Mb pc3200 + 256Mb pc2100) - Radeon 9600 - ATI HDTV - 3 HD - 1 DVD-RW.
Recently installed new memory, but everything worked fine, except for a periodical blue screen at startup, which was no problem to me.
After failing to create a new DVD in Nero, I was not able to remove the failed dvd, so I restarted. During boot time I was able to remove the dvd, but the boot-up process stopped at BIOS sign-on (LED 1 & 4 green on D-bracket) after the computer started buzzing. Since then tried the following: started with motherboard outside case, started with 1 memory module, started with memory + cpu only, cleared CMOS with JBAT1 and with battery removal.
Any help is appreciated.

Yep I have seen a PSU advertised that was a 450w and only had 8 amps on the 12v rail. Some of these get totally rediculas. That si why we ask specifically what the 12v rails are rated at. Keep in mind as well that the rating is for max amps which few PSU's can sustain for even the shortest amount of time. Usually yo would not even nornally produce 8 of those 12a on a continuos basis and that can eat that PSU up in a hurry as we need more juice than it can handle on a regular basis. It is a wonder you didn't let the smoke out of it. You did know that electronics need that smoke to operate right? Want proof? Let the smoke out and see if it still runs.

This is just a continuation of another post from a couple of weeks ago.

Of course I got the inevitable advice to upgrade the PSU (which had few amps on the 12V rail). In the meantime in replaced the PSU for a Rosewell 500W (3.3V-28A, 5V-30A, 12V-34A), however the problem remains.
Any help is appreciated.

I was "curing" this problem by clearing the CMOS before rebooting. Though this allowed me to reboot the machine,
it clearly was not a good solution. Eventually, acfter clearing the CMOS to boot into the BIOS, I then used the
BIOS ti reset the failsafe values in the BIOS and this fixed the problem - machine is now ok!
So, to summarise - machine hung when trying to write to DVD-RW. On hard reboot, it produced a loud buzzing
noise which turned out to come from the PC internal speaker. It wasn't actually a "buzzing" noise either but a
single beep repeated very frequently. The D-bracket lights were stuck at BIOS Sign On and the machine would
not even boot into the BIOS. SOlved this by clearing the CMOS but this was a poor solution because I had
to re-clear the CMOS every time I rebooted. Eventually noticed that, after clearing the CMOS and booting into
the BIOS, if I then used the BIOS to reload the failsafe values, everything was ok.....
Does this mean that the values in the BIOS after clearing the CMOS are DIFFERENT from the failsafe values?

PC is hanging on Bios screen

Just recently started having a weird problem that just goes away again for a while.
On power-up the computer hangs on the Bios black screen with just AMD Athlon 1700 detected.
TheD-bracket lights are 1 & 3 red indicating "Testing base and extended memory"
I have 2 x 256MB DDR and I treid moving them from 1 & 2 slots to 1 & 3 and 2 & 3. One way caused a blue screen APIC error and the other config caused corrupted grahics straight away.
Any ideas anyone?
As I said it does 'go away' but I wonder if it will become terminal.

I was just about to post on this very same issue. I took the above advise and ran memtest but it found no errors.
I have the same ram (crucial 2x256)
Antec PP-303xp (300 watt psu)
bios 2.4
maybe finding common ground can help
My list to do includes upgrading to bios 2.6, and playing with the slots of the ram. I already reseeded the ram.

Cannot sign in with fingerprint in windows 8.1

Hi all,
I have a HP pavilion m6-1002tx. It came with windows 7. I recently upgraded to windows 8.1 pro.
I downloaded the drivers for it from my product's page. There is no Simplepass in windows 8.1 section.

Now I am not able to use my fingerprint reader to sign in with simplepass . It used to work fine with windows 8 and 7.
But while signing in to windows biometrics I get this strange message "An error occurred while processing your fingerprint".
I have no idea of what to do next.

Hello If you are recieving this message before Windows loada up then goto BIOS and clear the fingerprint data.
The driver for WIndows 8 will work fine with Windows 8.1.

MSI K8N Neo Platinum 2 Bios Sign On.

So I just upgraded my desktop system to juicy quad core goodness, and was going to put my K8N Neo Platinum 2 into my server box.
When I put it in, and booted it up the fans would turn on, but there was a second where it tried to output to the display and my monitor would turn on. but then it turned off.
So after disecting it again, and plugging only the video card (Geforce 6200 AGP) and the d-bracket in I could see that the lights signaled that it was stuck at the Bios Sign On.
I have a 550W Antec PSU in the box, I'm positive that is plenty, since it was in my old set up and feeding the 6800GT just fine previously.
The only real differences between the set up I had before and what is in it now, is the Adaptec 29160 SCSI card, and I removed the Audigy Platinum and the 6800 GT Agp card that I had in it. I even tried putting that card back in, but no luck there either.
I've tried clearing the CMOS, I've tried even putting it into a new case with different PSU. Still the same, fans start spinning, but no display.
After reading here on some other Bios issues, it says to put in a PCI card (I'll try that Monday, as I took the board into work to try to get it booted there). I also need to test it out with one stick of ram (though I did take out two of them because I had planned on putting the other 2gb in a different PC, leaving 512mb Corsair sticks)
With installing the BIOS from Floppy, will this recover the current problem of not being able to get past the Bios Sign on?

Messages Beta won't sign in with my apple ID

When i click sign in with my apple ID all i get is the loading wheel. i left it to watch a movie and when i came back it was still going.
Facetime for mac dose the same thing as well.
Any one know whats wrong or how to fix it ?

The AppleID account system operates a bit differently now.
When iCloud went into effect, Apple was encouraging people to unify multiple accounts and account types. Many people did, and some didn't (or the other way around.) There are security reasons why you may not want to.
Accounts can now have associated e-Mail addresses. And these e-Mail addresses can be verified (for better security) or not.
Messages ∫Beta requires that an e-Mail address be associated with the Apple ID you want to use.
So, I'll bet that you actually have more than one Apple ID. And I'll bet that the e-Mail address you prefer is associated with another other ID or that you have no e-Mail address available on that Apple ID account.
When you enter your Apple ID in Messages, and the gear is spinning it means that it can not automatically associate and e-Mail address and it is waiting for you to key one in.
But, if an e-Mail address that you attempt to use is already associated with another Apple ID you will get a notice that says it is unable to verify & use because it is already associated.
So, go to appleid.apple.com log–in (as manage your account) with any new & old accounts that you can remember and see what e-Mail addresses are associated with each of them.
Also, occasionally when initially installing the Messages ∫Beta, you may have to power down your system a second time after you attempt to set up the account. This seems to be a hang, as it is waiting for a valid e-Mail address to be entered.

click on apple ID listed there
select Sign Out
sign in with the proper account
from then on, when the store ask for your password it should be with the correct ID

Do you store your passwords in the browser? If so, you may want to update them to make sure that they are trying to login with the right credentials: [[Password manager - Remember, delete and change saved passwords in Firefox]]
If that is not the case, it may be an old stored cookie: [[Delete cookies to remove the information websites have stored on your computer]]

I was having trouble purchasing candy crush updates (for no apparent reason, as it has been fine previously).   I thought perhpas I needed to download some new software and promptly started the IOS 6 update.   It installed and then asked me to complete the final few steps by signing in with my apple id.   When I try to do that it says "it cannot connect to the server".   I have tried turing it off and on and over riding it, but it won't let me do anything at all now on my ipad mini.
Can anyone help?   I literally can't function!!!!

You can't override it no matter what you do. The device has to connect to the server to complete the iOS update. You could try rebooting the iPad and see if that lets you connect to the server after it starts up.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If that will not work, you can try connecting to iTunes on your computer and see if the activation will complete. Sometimes when thes activation issues arise, you end up having to restore the device again, but first things first. Reboot and see what happens.

- Apps are locked to the account that purchased them. Thus it appears that yor sone purchased the app.
- To update apps you have to sign into the account that purchased the apps. If you have apps that need updating purchased from more than one account you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account.

Yes, of course.   Did you set up with your Apple ID?
Reset the iPad to factory and set it up with your Apple ID and password.   You can still sync different apps, music and other stuff onto the iPad, the devices need not mirror each other.

I also encountered the same problem. Try using a different email address or try signing in later.
