Hangs when installing amd and silicon image drivers

last night installed multipoint server 2012 premium evaluation to a 32GB ssd.
all went well.
then attempted to install amd graphics drivers for hd4850/hd6310  and also drivers for silicon image 3114 pci sata card.
both installers hang part way into installation despite multiple attempts and reboots.
even leaving pc over night failed to resolve hanging.
please advise of work around.
mainboard is asus e35m1-m pro.
objective is working fileserver/multiseat websurfer.
thanks and please have a great day/week/life

Are those devices supported by Windows 2012 or are you installing drivers for an older version of Windows? If those drivers are for older versions of Windows, that might cause the problem. Have you checked with the manufacturer of those devices for known
issues?

  • What is error 2502,& 2503 when installing Quicktime and gaming related drivers/software

    Windows 8 has just been re-installed so I thought that would fix the problem. I had purchased a new XFX graphics card,,, free games. I couldn't download or play the games because of errors 2502 and 2503. After this new os installation, I thought this would fix any problems,,,but,, Quicktime won't install and I absolutely cannot find an answer for this,,,Please HELP!!!! direction, anything.  -Thanks, JoeOutHere

    I'm having the same problem, but so far, none of the solutions I've seen on other threads have worked. I've made sure that I have permissions on everything, but the registry still won't give me access. I'm starting to think that my registry (or at least any keys associated to QuickTime*) might be corrupted.
    By the way BDude004, in any earlier versions of iTunes, did you have any errors pop up, talking about errors changing filetypes? that happened to me often, and I'm wondering if it was a precursor to this registry problem.
    * I say this because I get the same "Cannot open QuickTime.[some QT associated filetype]: Error while opening key." message whenever I click on that key in the registry editor.

  • Ms-7220 NVRAID and Silicon Image driver installation.

    Anybody know how to install the nVidia RAID Controller Software and drivers after Windows is up and running, same with Silicon Image for RAID and Non-Raid Controller Functions.
    The only installation instructions for NVRAID installation is during Windows installation as Boot Device.  Silicon Image installation instruction, errors out when you give it the directory of the Silicon Image drivers stating they are not for your hardware configuration, but the file are the current MSI download for 64 Bit Silicon Image drivers.
    Have this problem on two Ms-7720's one is the one in my signature and the other is about the same configuration, but parts may be by different manufactures.
    nVidia SATA ports all work with single drives, Silicon Image does not work with any drives or are any drives detected by BIOS on Silicon Image controller, and both systems are the same.

    When submitting a problem, include a complete list of your system components; include part numbers, all Power Supply Voltages, and their output ratings.  It is almost impossible to estimate what your problem is without knowing something about it.

    Uninstalled all nVidia On board device drivers and software, then reinstalled and all of the above problems are gone.
    In addition, found out that if you disable all on board nVidia devices and use only the basic Northbridge and Southbridge functions the MS-7220 is one solid running system.  Standard IDE/SATA device controllers is stable, everything else I tried that is nVidia Chipset hardware or nVidia software driven, uninstall and/or disable.  PassMark's Burn-In program runs with out errors only when the nVidia Chipset Primary functions are used.  Does not seam to be any instability problem with on board devices connected through the Chipset, I have been able to find.
    syar2003, the unknown devices program found no unknown device and through it and other DMI diagnostic programs found that DMI did not have this unknown device listed, so the problem was Windows registry bogus entry, which was cleared when I uninstalled all nVidia Chipset Software and drivers.  Thanks for the link, though looks like a useful tool to have.
    Therefore, looks like the problem was a Windows registry entry, caused all the enabling, disabling, installing and reinstalling of devices and software to do all the testing I have be doing on the MS-7220.  The nVidia Raid Controller is really a dog in stability, performance, data corruption and ease of setup and use, but I do not think that will surprise anyone.

  • Tecra S1 Hangs when installing XP

    Hi,
    I have a weird problem. My Tecra S1 'hangs' when installing a 'normal' Windows XP Pro (instead of using the 'image DVD). The installation works fine up till the last 9 minutes...then it 'hangs', and the laptop stops working. Only possible solution is then to take out the battery & cut the power. Had a (1 time) similar problem of 'hanging' when using the image DVD
    Somebody who had this before ???
    Thanks a lot for all your hints & tips...

    Hej guys,
    Thanks a lot for the suggestions, and indeed, I also tried other CD's of XP pro...all with the same result. At the last 9 seconds it hangs & the only thing I can do is take out the battery. Last thing I tried was installing a Win2000 pro & that works fine. Then I tried to upgrade that version, but again...it stopped at the last 9 seconds.... :-((, so perhaps indeed I have to look in the direction of the memory problem ???

  • Freezing/hanging when taking pictures and videos  in i phone 4

    freezing/hanging when taking pictures and videos  in i phone 4 with flash on.

    Hi Mister.
    Let's try to answer your questions.
    - The E5 does not have a red light when you take pictures.
    - I don't know about battery life comparing with E6 and E72, just can say on the E5 is quite good. It has a 1200 mAh battery, you should check the others, but also the features of each one, i.e. the E6 is a touchscreen one, so it consumes more power.
    - It has a notification white light, around the navigation button.
    Regards.

  • NetBeans and j2sdk package hangs when installing

    When installing the netbeans 3.6 and j2sdk package the installer get to 48 % and hangs. I let is sit all night and it was still the same the next morning. I am running on XP professional. Any ideas on how to get it to install.
    Thanks
    Randy

    I was having a similar problem
    I originally installed the combined package netbeans 5.5 with JDK 1.5.0.9 with no problems.
    Unfortunately, I had to uninstall Netbeans, because the Nokia Carbide_j_1_5 integrated plug-in broke it. However, after uninstalling just Netbeans, I was unable to reinstall it !
    The installer would report that the JDK was already installed and that it would just install Netbeans 5.5. At that point I clicked "next" to continue, but the installer just hung.
    After many attempts, I finally found this thread, and decided to try downloading the installer for just Netbeans (netbeans-5_5-windows.exe)
    Bingo! It installed fine. So now I can go home. What a way to spend a Friday night!

  • K8N Neo2-F hangs when installing Windows XP Pro

    Hello, I've recently been trying to put together my first build, and I haven't had too much luck thus far.
    My problem occurs when trying to clean install Windows XP Pro on my hard drives. Using either of my HDDs results in the Windows setup screen coming up, loading all the drivers, and then crapping out right before it lets me add/delete partitions. It hangs right before there, and provides me with a STOP 0x000007 BSOD error. I've tried with both my SATA and my IDE drives, and nothing seems to work. The IDE drive works fine on my old motherboard (Non SATA compatible, so I can't even test the SATA drive on it), and lets me partition the drive, so it's not the HD, and it's not the CD. The processor, mobo, SATA HD and the RAM are all new.
    I've followed the guide that fafner and syar2003 have provided here, and have come up with nothing. (I only tried the first method, not the second one further down the thread).
    Is there a BIOS setting that I'm missing, or what?
    Thanks in advance.

    Amps on the power supply are:
    +3.3: 32A
    +5: 40A
    +12: 24A
    I've tried installing windows with just the SATA drive, just the IDE, and both. I've now tried installing Windows using syar2003's advice in aforementioned thread, saw this link and tried setting the max memclock to 166Mhz, with 1 stick, or 2. Had the timings set to auto though. No dice.
    No matter what, after it says "Setup is now starting Windows", it hangs, and after about 5 minutes, this BSOD comes up.

  • Plat SLI and Silicon Sata Drivers (Fixed but Weird)

    Hello all, since I started manually flashing bioses to test for the 219 cold boot hypertransport bug fix, I noticed that whenever I flashed to a new bios the silicon sata drivers were the only thing that was not recognized in windowsxp under a different bios.  I have flashed back to my original 3.1 bios, and the silicon sata driver is recognized.
    I did try to reload the silicon image raid drivers in the beta (and I tried 3.2 too) but it was a no go.  Am I supposed to do something with these silicon drivers before I flash to a new bios?  Or do you have to do something special after I flash?

  • Hangs when installing comUS.msb

    Hi, i have a copy of Oracle8i, personal edition version 8.1.5 - each time i try to install it, it hangs when trying to install file called "comUS.msb" which is 76% of way through installation.
    Does anyone know of a work around to this? I tried cancelling the installation of that component and that only caused the installation to hang even further.

  • Application hangs when using ProcessStartInfo and Process.WaitForExit.

    I've looked on different threads about this, but all of them uses the Process.RedirectStandardOutput = True, which I don't.
    I'm trying to open a process (console application, not made by me) to make it compile a special .acs file to a .o file. The structure is simple, the only argument is the file you want to compile.
    But on certain files my application hangs when trying to open the process. Here's my code:
    Dim p As New Process
    Dim ps As New ProcessStartInfo
    ps.Arguments = SavePath 'Path example: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Zandronum\File.acs"
    ps.FileName = Path.Combine(System.AppDomain.CurrentDomain.BaseDirectory(), "Script Compilers\Zandronum\acc.exe")
    ps.CreateNoWindow = False
    ps.ErrorDialog = False
    ps.UseShellExecute = True
    ps.WindowStyle = ProcessWindowStyle.Hidden
    ps.WorkingDirectory = Path.GetDirectoryName(SavePath)
    Dim ErrorCaptured As Boolean = False
    Try
    p = Process.Start(ps)
    Catch ex As Exception
    ErrorCaptured = True
    End Try
    If ErrorCaptured = False Then
    p.WaitForExit()
    End If
    If ErrorCaptured = True Then
    Exit Sub
    End If
    Thanks!
    //Visual Vincent
    EDIT:
    For starting the process I use pretty much the same code that another guy made in C#. And his code is working perfectly...
    // Setup process info
    processinfo = new ProcessStartInfo();
    processinfo.Arguments = args;
    processinfo.FileName = Path.Combine(this.tempdir.FullName, info.ProgramFile);
    processinfo.CreateNoWindow = false;
    processinfo.ErrorDialog = false;
    processinfo.UseShellExecute = true;
    processinfo.WindowStyle = ProcessWindowStyle.Hidden;
    processinfo.WorkingDirectory = this.workingdir;
    try
    process = Process.Start(processinfo);
    catch(Exception e)
    // Unable to start the compiler
    General.ShowErrorMessage("Unable to start the compiler (" + info.Name + "). " + e.GetType().Name + ": " + e.Message, MessageBoxButtons.OK);
    return false;
    // Wait for compiler to complete
    process.WaitForExit();
    I hope your day has been better than yesterday, but that it's worse than tomorrow...
    Please mark as answer if I solved your problem. :)

    Hi,
     Have you compared the FileNames and Arguments of ones that work and ones that don`t? Is there any difference in them such as the ones that work do not contain blank spaces in the FileName or arguments and the ones that do work don`t contain blank spaces
    in them? If you find that to be the problem then you need to add Quotes to the beginning and end of the FileName or Arguments.
     My first guess is the Arguments needs the Quotes like this because, i see blank spaces in your example of the Arguments.
    ps.Arguments = Chr(34) & SavePath & Chr(34)
    If you say it can`t be done then i`ll try it
    This actually made it. I had forgotten that blank spaces makes it a new argument, silly me. I don't use process arguments that often. ;)
    Thanks alot!

  • ImaqDisplayImage hangs when running .exe and the window can't be moved when in Debug mode

    I am running a multi threaded application with multiple windows, two of which display images but only one is open all the time.  The window displaying the image (using imaqDisplayImage(myImage, 1, TRUE)) can not be moved or resized, the image continually updates though, when I run the app in debug mode.
    If I run an executable, either debug or release the following happens:
    Everything looks good right when the app starts, all windows are displayed and the live image window is continually updated.
    If I click on any window in my program or not in my program, the imaqDisplayImage window freezes and will not udate its image, it will allow me to move it though, and it has (Not Responding) in the title bar.  The main window of my program does not freeze and behaves normally.
    I know that an acquisition is still taking place because I have a button on my main window that copies the last grabbed image that should be displayed in the imaqDisplayImage window and displayes it on a canvas (using imaqImageToArray etc . . .) and this image changes everytime I click the button.
    Anyone have any tips with dealing with imaqDisplayImage windows??  Thanks!

    At this point we want to pinpoint exactly where in your code this behavior is originating from. Try running the included examples which can be found here:
    C:\Program Files\National Instruments\MeasurementStudio\CVI\samples\IMAQ\Display
    C:\Program Files\National Instruments\MeasurementStudio\CVI\samples\Vision\1.GettingStarted
    and see if you experience the same behavior. If we still experience this, then we know that it is a setting within the functions that we need to change. If not, we know that it is somewhere else in the code of the bigger project which is the culprit.

  • Error when installing Rescue and Recovery

    Hello,
    I own a 2 year old Thinkpad L430 running Win7 Pro 64bit.
    I've been trying to install Rescue and Recovery because I want to reset my PC from the recovery partition, and as far as I understand the only way to do that is through RnR(?)
    But whenever I go through the installer i get this error message:
    click me
    which, in english, basically says that there was and error with the return code 6.
    After googling around for a while i found out that the fact that I once had a Linux Distrinution installed alongside Windows may be the cause of aforementioned error, because Linux replaces the default Lenovo boot loader with it's own GRUB one. When i removed the Linux distribution I typed the following into the command line: bootrec.exe /fixmbr to return to the Windows boot loader.
    Do anyone know if the Linux thing is in fact the cause of  the error?
    Can I somehow restore the Lenovo boot loader or is there's some other way to install RnR and/or restore my PC?
    Any help is truly appreciated!
    thanks,
    Simon

    A typical factory ship of machine from Lenovo: (yours may not look like this).
    Q (lenovo recovery)
    contains Rescue and recovery standalone software.  This standalone software also  can call The factory recovery software, if the Factory software is still on the Q drive.   Lenovo modifies the BIOS to support launch of standalone RNR.
    Regardless of RNR installed or not, on the windows platform, standalone SHOULD launch. There is always a standalone RNR  in the recovery partition.
    ==
    workaround:
    (1) order REcovery DVD from the support center. $50 us if not under warranty
    (2) find a bud with a Lenovo machine. Create Rescue media to a DVD.  Boot your machine with the DVD. If it finds the recovery partition intact, you can do a Factory reinstall. Rescue media is a standalone RNR, it will not rely on the boot structure on your C drive HDD>
    (3) Your main issue is RNR install died with RC=6. This shows up. Check the msi logs in
    C/users/YOURID/appdata/local/temp. I have researched some of these.  It is confusion in the installer/ and the condition of the PDA/predesktop area (corrupted) . PDA is standalone rnr. Your PDA is probably just fine.
    SO, which version of RNR did you try to install? Was it the USA english version or the NLS support version.
    Your cant mix and match.
    You cant switch from the English only version to NLS. denmark version, it will rc=6. I personally think this is a bug..
    Region lang, local lang etc also confuse RNR installer.
    The rc=6 occurs way after the installer had a bug in it. Yes it is trying to modify the MBR/BCD. I dont think your linux stuff mucked it up.
    ==
    Simple solution:
    Get a DVD of standalone RNR to perform the factory recovery.
    -or- hit pff11 at boot time, and use RNR standalone for Factory recover<<< this shoud work. << my choice.
