Happy New Year and help Please!!! IPOD 4th GEN won't Synch??

Hello,
And, thanks for reading my question. I recently purchased an IPOD 4th GEN touch from Gamestop. I previously had an ipod that was stolen a few years ago. I had 2000 songs on my itunes and just haven't used it till now.
When I bought the IPOD I ensured that my itunes and ipod were using the most current software. However, it is not synching my music. It will let me start to synch and then go through steps 1&2 of a five step process before it tells me that itunes has encountered a problem and must shut down. There is no specific code it gives me it just asks whether I'd like to send an error report or not.
I have ensured my firewall was off. I restarted the IPOD and computer, and still nothing. Same error message and itunes shuts off. I have installed the latest updates to bonjour and quicktime, restarted, and still no remedy.
I was tempted to uninstall everything but am afraid of losing my music. Only 30-40 songs are in my icloud. I imported the other songs to itunes a long time ago.
Does anyone know how I can get these songs on my ipod? Thanks in advance for any help and Happy New Year to all...

You probably need to set up automatic syncing.  If you do not set it up, it will still "sync" but it will sync nothing.
In iTunes 12, select the iPod so that you see its Summary settings screen (click the "device button" on horizontal bar).  In the iPod's sidebar, under Settings, click Music.  To the right is the iPod's Music settings screen, where you tell iTunes how to sync your iPod.
Check the box for Sync Music.  This enables automatic syncing for songs.  Below that, if your entire iTunes library fits on your iPod, you can choose the option to sync Entire music library.
Otherwise, you can choose to sync Selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres.  Then, select what you want to sync from the lists below.  On convenient way to set this up is to create one or more playlists in your iTunes library with songs just for the iPod.  Or you can use existing playlists.  On the iPod's Music settings screen, find and select (checkmark) just those playlists under Playlists.
When you click Apply, iTunes syncs your iPod with your selection(s) on the iPod's Music settings screen, and keeps it "in sync" automatically.

  • HELP! Ipod 4th gen. Not working! Need help fast!

My ipod 4th gen, died, and when I went to charge it. It showed the screen where the usb cord has an arrow above it pointing to the itunes symbol. I plugged in my ipod to my laptop, went on itunes, and there was no device recognized. And no pop up thing about the device, or restoring the device. I looked up sooo many things and nothing has helped me. I really need help, and fast! REMINDER: Im only 14, and dont have the money to take in my ipod to get it fixed, or to buy a new device. I would really appreciate the help if you know whats happening and how to fix it!

You need to restore the iPod via iTunes. Try the following to get iTunes to see the iPod so you can restore the iPod
    iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • HAPPY NEW YEAR and what to cook ?

I've noticed that the newspapers and news programs on TV ( if you can call them news programs ).. are already gearing up for the never ending barrage of
" THE YEAR IN PICTURES "   OR
" THE YEAR OF BREAKING NEWS "
    OR
You know, the scramble of producers trying to capture the past year of their best stories and live coverage of stuff...
Is really cheap to produce...and fills up lots of columns and time slots....YIPEE !
So while I turned off the YULE LOG I am now looking forward to the BARF BAG ....as I am reminded of all the retarded stories of the past year and how the media made it great.
Like when Lady Ga Ga wore that scary snake costume at the " TV AWARD DINNER FOR REPTILES " event in NOLA last June ?
So what are we gonna eat for the new year celebration ? Or is it just gonna be BEER THIRTY ! YIPEE !
for that matter, what are we gonna DRINK ! ??  I don't know about YOU but after a few drinks I don't even care that mayor bloomberg turns the new year celebration into a billy joel " new york state of mind ".

just finished first steak on skillet... yum....
however I screwed up slightly...and can easily fix that next time...
Shooter.. the skillet is " ribbed "...so that it has raised ridges that the meat sits on... so it isn't a " pan " ...it isn't FLAT....it's ribbed....like a grill...where only the raised parts touch the meat.
Soooo, when you put salt in the thing it sits in the valleys ....and does NOT TOUCH THE MEAT....no salt touches the meat...before or during or after cooking...
    So that's one thing...
thanks for the heads up about that though, cause I know what you mean.... you wouldn't believe the gazillion recipes and methods I've researched in the past few days about this...
I know more about SALT now also, than I ever wanted to know .
And the 3-4 mintute thing... ( this is rib eye boneless about 1.5 - 2 inches thick )...that was too long...
It's tricky cause I pre heated the skillet....at high.. then turned heat to medium ....where basically the entire skillet including handles were HOT and the thing started so smoke slightly ( very slight ).... Put steak on, turned after 3 min and then left for another 3 min...and then stuck a fork in the top..and some red juice came out...so I screwed up at this point... I turned it OVER again...thinking it was rare....for about 30 seconds.....what a stupid mistake...
It ended up , in that 30 secs... I got plate, fork and came back to oven and put it on plate... 30 secs...and it was medium in middle instead of medium rare the way I like it....
    I was a jerk.
I think I can now adjust a couple things re: the level of heat at beginning and the time....but it's pretty darn close.. I mean, like 30 secs made a HUGE difference....
The other thing that I screwed up on ... is I put the salt in grooves to much... it wasn't touching the meat.. but it did make the meat salty.  Not terrible... I mean, the steak was really yummy...very good... but it can be " better "...
I have to put about half the amount of salt in the valleys....so when the juice goes onto skilliet the salt makes the juice sorta vaporize and go back into meat...but I used too much salt..
I'm halfway or more to being where I wanna be with it and it did taste really good.. but it was medium in middle ( grrrr ) and also it was a little salty ( grrrrr ).
I'll make another one tomorrow....same bat time, same bat channel !
    thanks for your help !

My moms iPod 4th generation 8 gb won't turn on. She was gone on a trip and it was low on battery and went dead so she plugged it in all night and the next morning it would not turn on. This was over a week ago I've plugged it In to a computer and nothing happened. I've tried holding the home and power button various times and nothing happened. I haven't tried resetting it yet but I will if I absolutely have too. Also she thinks maybe the wall pluggin wasn't working correctly? Any ideas? Please help me out. Also their is no apple store anywhere near me so that's not really an option. She doesn't have the newest iOS either it's 6 point something don't know exactly.

  • Ipod nano 4th gen won't synch with windows 7

I recently reset my windows 7 laptop. Ever since, itunes has not been synching with my 4th gen ipod nano. The device is being recognised and charges, but music would not synch. This wasn't too much of an issue for a while. But today I wanted to update my music so i tried updating itunes and restoring my ipod to factory settings and seeing if that helped. it successfully wiped the device, but will still not upload music. Whenever I click synch I begins the process but immediately states the synch is complete even though no music has been added. So now I have an empty ipod which cannot have any music put on it.

  • My iPod  4th gen. won't charge or connect to iTunes,What do I do?

My iPod 4g hasn't been recongize by iTunes and it won't charge when it is pluged into my wall or pc.I'm struggling to find a way to fix it.
It has been like this since yesterday and nothing had changed.I plugged it into the wall also and still it won't charge. What should I do?I'm desperate for answers.

After charging for half an hour, reset the iPod and connect the iPod to the syncing computer and try to restore the iPod.
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.o
    - If iTunes does not see the iPod, place the iPod in recovery mode and then try to restore the iPOd.  For recovery mode see:

  • NEED HELP WITH IPOD 4TH GEN

I have an ipod touch 4th generation I forgot my password. Every time I try to restore it, it seems as tho its going to work but then comes up with some thing saying THAT I NEED MY PASSWORD. I have no idea what else to do. PLEASE HELP!!

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    For how to restore:
    iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    To restore from backup see:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

  • My Ipod 4th gen won't play certain songs/displays wrong name

I got a referbished Ipod nano two months back and it worked just fine. Then all my music was erased from Itunes for whatever reason (not important.) Then I restored all my songs from my Ipod by transfering all the encoded files into the itunes folder. This worked just fine on Itunes (everything plays just fine) but when I synced my Ipod I noticed that a lot of the songs wouldn't play. when I click on a song it will go into the song interface quickly then go back to the menu screen. also when I would play all the songs by an artist it would skip massive chunks of songs and only play one or two. When it did play a song it would trip up and display the details for the next song and would require some effort to get it to display the right thing. Also when I would click on some songs it would take two tries to get it to play. I noticed that this only happens on songs that I transfered from my old mp3 player and not songs that I bought on Itunes. anyway any help is appreciated. Please respond.

  • IPod 4th gen won't update!

okay so I've read a few discussions from people who have the same problem as me! its so annoying now, I've been trying to update my iPod to the new iOS 5 update but it refuses to update!
It finishes downloading the update then says an error has occured, the timed out one, it then tells me to check my network connectivity, I do so and it works perfectly.
I then turned ALL my secruity settings off and tried again. Still no luck.
    help me??????

  • IPod 4th gen won't boot

Just today my iPod finally stopped booting up completely. For the past few months, it'll freeze, make loud buzzing noise through the headphones, and sometimes take forever or won't boot at all. At first I thought it was caused by temperature because these problems only occured when I expose it to the cold Canadian weather, or leave it on my desk for a extended period of time. (Room isn't heated when it happens.)
However, now it won't start at all. It'll start hanging at the apple logo and nothing else happens. Even if I plug it into a computer, it won't go past the apple logo. So I put it into disk mode and everything seem to be detected. All my music, notes, data, everything was in order. But after you restart it, it still hangs. Therefore, I tried restoring it a few times and that doesn't seem to fix it. I even tried downgrading it back to 1.0.3 (the version pre-installed when I got it) with no such luck. Is it a firmware issue because all of this started after I upgraded it? From that point, things just started getting worse and worse.
I'm running on a PC. Any help will be appreciated!

Update, I left it on over night and it'll still show that connect to power logo when the battery is dead. So hardware wise, I think it's working cause it'll go into disk mode, the computer can read what's on the device. But it still can't get past the apple logo.
    Please help!
