Happy now with Firefox. Any reason i shdn't trash my Safari applic?

After too long with slow Safari, I've swit ched to Firefox and much faster better.
I've made it my default browser.
Is there any reason I should keep my old Safari app that came with my original old mac g4, Panther.
Should I delete it, ie trash it?
Why should i keep it, taking up space, if i never want to watch it slowly struggle agin. Shouldn't it just be put out of it's misery?
Should i keep iit just for sentimental value?
or keep it because it's Apple?
And if i should tash it, then later for some reason want Safari back on my computer, would thhat cost me?

At the bottom of the Apple Knowledge Base article that was linked to in your previous thread concerning changing the default web browser:
Safari and Mail shouldn't be deleted
After changing your default application, you should not delete Safari or Mail, >even if you do not plan to use them. You will need them if you wish to change >your default settings in the future.
It also is rather difficult to reinstall Safari and most likely would require reinstalling from disk.
My Safari 1.3.2 only takes up 3.4MB of disk space which in the great scheme of things is really not very significant in size to be of that much concern.

I would like my google toolbar back and all my icons gmail and now with firefox 5 it is not compatiable why did you not ask me before taking them away with upgrade?????

I would like to roll back to previous version of Firefox that I had, because the upgrade took away Google toolbar which I loved and the g mail icons and Google this and that I had and now your Firefox is not compatible with Google tool bar so I cannot re-install them. Garmin GPS not compatible with Firefox - any hope in the future?

Hi there, I've just bought a new Garmin GPS for car. To start it up you need to register the unit. To register the unit you have to download their plug in. When I try to I get a message to say that it isn't compatible with Firefox 5. I'd rather not change from Firefox, so I'm just wondering if it will be compatible in the near future? It appears to have been compatible with Firefox 3.6+ - so perhaps you could tell me how to revert to that if possible for now? Thank you, Eva

Compatibility of the Garmin Communicator Plugin is up to Garmin. Look for an updated version of that Plugin at the Garmin web site.

I had a Google search bar before now with Firefox 5 I have no search bar at all?

I have updated to Firefox 5 and now I have no search bar. I had Google before, but when I tried to download this it said it was not compatible with Firefox 5.
Now I have no search box.

I had this same problem, but you can add the search bar back by going to View > Toolbars > Customize... then somewhere near the bottom of the list of objects you'll find the Search bar that you can then drag onto the navigation bar where you would like it to go.

Aaah that makes sense, the only problem i have now is that when in my gideonmarshall.com add cname record page i have the following option :-
Host name (then a blank box to type in) .gideonmarshall.com
points to (then a blank box to type in)
(how i set it up originally is - Host name (WWW) .gideonmarshall.com
points to (web.me.com)
what do i type into the host name box now to get gideonmarshall.com to redirect to either www.gideonmarshall.com or web.me.com?? I would have thought that anything i type in there would just create another sub domain which would then compound my problem and i can't leave it blank. Also would it be best to do this as a new cname record directing gideonmarshall.com to www.gideonmarshall.com, or for me to just sort out the initial cname record i created so it directs gideonmarshall.com to web.me.com and if that is the case what would i put in the host name box since i can't leave it blank??

Any reason i shdn't let neighbor share my ISP with his wi-fi? & How?

My new nextdor nabor asks me if he can share my dslextreme ISP, says he cd access it with his wi-fi on his computer. If I can give him, what?, some password or code or what that may be on bottom of my modem or what or where? I haven't a clue about sucha thangs.
And should I be worried about letting neighbor do that?
Will he, or could he already, be spying on what I'm doing on my own Mac Mini Snow Leopard?
I've never used wifi so ignernt. Hope for simple advice.
I guess I should figure out what kind of wifi I even have. Just opened my Prefs and under Network it says Ethernet connected and Airport on.
I live right across the street from an airport control tower and he says he's getting internet access already free from there, but it's in and out so not good. I've never even tried.

Veetle is no longer working with firefox, any idea why, or how to fix it??

As of two days ago, Veetle channels no longer appear using Firefox browser v. 8, yet seem to work perfectly fine with Google Chrome. Although similar issues have been raised in previous questions they (1) deal with earlier versions of FF, or (2) I have already attempted the posted remedies to no avail. Any idea what is causing the problem, and how to fix it? Furthermore, in your "educated guesses" below, you don't show the plugins I have for Veetle, although I do have them.

Right-click on any blank space on the Veetle page. A dialog box will appear, at the bottom will be listed "View page Info." Clicking on "View page Info" brings up a Firefox dialog box with the following tabs: General, Media, Permissions, and Security. My Mac keeps crashing (whole system) when I'm watching videos with Firefox, any idea why?

Ok so I got a new mac and as usual install firefox which is my favorite browser, suddenly my computer started crashing, not just firefox the whole system froze and I had to reboot to make it work again, I didn't know what was happening until I noticed that said crashes happen when I was watching videos on firefox, I tried to use chrome and the issue was gone. So anyone has any idea why this is happening? I really would love to start using firefox again!

I am running FF 6.8 and when trying to download 6.12 I am told I do not have the systems premission to insatall it. I have been using FF for a few years now with out any problems. What has been changed to lock me out of FF upgrades?

I have downloaded the upgrade and attempted to move it from the application folder to the dock without any luck and when I ask help to check for updates I am told I do not have permission to install updates. I attempted to update FF a couple of months ago and when I encounter this problem I downloaded Safari and installed it. I have tried a couple times along the way to download the upgrade to FF without any luck.

If you have Mac OS X 10.4 or newer then do this:
• Download a new copy of the Firefox program: http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html
• Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re)install.

Your profile data is stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder, so you won't lose your bookmarks and other personal data.

Firefox now always stores the old session, and you can access it by going to the History menu and selecting "Restore Previous Session"

I cannot access the internet with firefox any longer. I can with Internet explorer so I know it is not my internet connection. I reinstalled firefox and still have the same issue HELP!!!!

Your add-ons list shows AVG, ZoneAlarm, and McAfee products. Could one of them be blocking this site? See whether you can add exceptions or just disable them temporarily and test whether that helps.
