Hard cover full photo on the hard cover (not overlying sheet)

It would appear when I select the formal hard cover books, I can select a full photo on the cover or a cropped photo. Would selecting a full photo allow me to select my own color for the margins if I brought the photo in from another photo editing application such as Graphicconverter?

It should - but the critical dimension is not file size - it is number of pixels - any image that will print below 180 DPI will trigger a warning (1530x1980)
Does the photo publishing process reduce the size of the photo to fit the page accordingly? I.e. do you get any noticeable loss in quality?
I'm not sure what you are getting at here. The quality of the printed books is outstanding in most people's opinion. If your image is 180 dpi or greater everything should be fine. And it may be fine with a lower resolution photo - it is at your risk.
Finally, are there any additional themes that can be imported into existing themes for margin colors?

I'm assuming you're referring to the back cover of a book in iPhoto. The reason is non of the themes have a photo on the back cover. Some have a small photo on the back of the dust jacket. Go to the back cover, click on it and check out the various layouts available.
In the future include full sentences and specific information about what you're trying to accomplish, what versions of software you're using, etc. so we don't have to guess.

after some sorting out your article, I clicked on a question mark with the message find the missing folder. This brought me to a page where I could choose a folder by year and click on it. The question marks disappeared and the photos were available. In some cases I had to click on the year folder for each subfolder by date.
The find missing folders message did not bring me to the finder window in which I could click on folders in the hard drive itself. I appreciate your help big time!!

I copied the library to the external drive and then it went and said they were referenced files but I was okay about that. Now it cannot see them and will not do anything with them. I think I will buy another external drive and start again by importing all of my files again. I guess 55K will keep the mac busy this week.

iPhoto needs to have the Library sitting on disk formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled). Users with the Library sitting on disks otherwise formatted regularly report issues including, but not limited to, importing, exporting, saving edits and sharing the photos.

ITunes does not recognize these back up files even though the location is the same as cloud & recently burned music that does show- help! The backup files consist of 34,000+ songs; almost all burned from my own CD collection. I do have most of the songs on an ipod classic but hesitate to try to restore from that. The red outline highlights the media folder and its contents, the various subfolders are only created if that kind of content is in your library. The right-hand side shows the files that should be found in the iTunes library folder; sentinel is normally hidden so may not be visible. The core of your iTunes library is the file iTunes Library.itl, you need to restore this, the other library files and the Album Artwork folder, as well as the media folder, to restore your library.

You're right - it is never a good idea to click on links sent in an email unless you are absolutely certain they are legitimate, and that is only becoming more difficult as spammers and phishing attempts are getting better every day. Having no association with Verizon is all the more reason to simply delete the thing.
Next, by supplying your email address all you did was confirm to whatever site was sending you this spam that your email address was legitimate. Again, when in doubt just delete the email and forget you ever saw it.

The good news is that is highly unlikely. The bad news is that your email address might be used as the "from" address for spam sent to others, and that you are only more likely to get more spam from the phony Verizon site as well as every other potentially malicious operators.
The best advice would be to simply abandon that email address, but if you can live with the previous potential concerns it would be overkill. I would recommend changing your passwords for financial institutions (banks, credit cards and so forth) as well as your email account or accounts. That is simply good practice whether or not you did what you did.
As far as any malware is concerned, again that is unlikely, but make sure you run Software Update to get all Apple's latest updates.

Yes - email & text work fine but when I use something like Google Images or search a blog with imbedded photos I get the empty white boxes with question marks. If I click the question mark it opens the photo but I can't possibly do that for EVERY image on EVERY page I search!?!?! I have no clue that you mean by it only shows photos from the camera icon. It has to show the photos in the camera roll of the photos app since those are the only photos that you can import via the USB cable.
There are other ways of transferring photos to a computer, but they involve using third party apps. There are WiFi transfer apps that will do this. DropBox will also let you upload photos to a public folder and then download them to a computer.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Photostream only syncs photos over Wi-Fi, make sure you are connected to Wi-Fi to begin with.
Photostream only syncs when the camera app is closed, ensure it is closed.
Photostream only syncs when the battery is above 20%, try recharging the device
Try disabling photo stream on your device (settings > iCloud), restarting your device and then re-enabling photo stream.
If this doesn't help you may need to reset photo stream. You can do this at icloud.com by clicking on your name in the top right corner and then the advanced settings in the pop-up dialogue box that appears.
Note: disabling photostream and re-enabling it will result in any photos that are currently in the photostream album on your device, that are older than 30 days old, not being added back.
