HARD DISK IMMINENT

hello everyone, MY computer  is giving the error during the boot process S.M.A.R.T current disk status sata0.
i have to press f1 all the time to continue to the boot process i searched for this problem on internet and got to know that
its an early alert from the system to recover all the data from your dardisk as soon as possible .
I am recovering my data from last 42 hours but still TWO MORE PARTITION REMAINED THE PROBLEM IS WHENEVER I TRY TO ACCESS THOSE DRIVE WITH ANY SOFTWARE THEY THROW ERROR AND WHEN I ENTER INSIDE THE PARTITIONS WITHOUT THEM I GET INSIDE TO IT BUT WHEN I TRIED
TO COPY ANY THING SYSTEM Get's  HANGED  (I HAVE USED ACRONIS FOR THE DATA RECOVERY )
guys please suggest me a way to recover my data and extraordinary tool (i tried most of the tool acronis, easeus, aomei)
after some time i come to know my disk has too many bad sectors so i downloaded HDD generator and start recovering those sector's but it is taking a lot of time to go.
3.)Then i thought to boot windows 7 to it after formatting one of partition (whose data i have recovered :)).
when i loaded with the windows 7 disk its is saying "WINDOWS CANNOT BE INSTALLED IN THIS DISK AS  THIS DISK MAY FAIL SOON TRY ANOTHER ". this method also gone :(
4.) thrusted up so much time i have invested plz guys suggest me either is their any solution available to it how i can be able to recover or safe  my data from my partition and what about hardisk can it be roll back to its orignal situation as was
from factory ???
living in great disaster please suggest
i will be thankful to them .

Hi Jake,
You are probably still in warranty.  Make sure you've backed up your files externally and contact hp support.  You'll need a replacement hard drive.  Sorry to hear you've problems, glad they happened while you are covered.

  • Pavilion dv7t-4100 CTO Select Edition Entertainment Notebook PC hard disk failure imminent.

Lately this laptop has been running slow and hot. Just yesterday,  I recieved an error message on my laptop (HP Pavilion dv7t-4100 CTO), saying "SMART Hard Disk Error" followed by a message telling me that the SMART hard disk check has detected an imminent failure. It told me to backup my files and then press F2 and run a hard disk test. The Quick Test Passed. The complete test gave this error.:"Hard Disk reporting failure 301 Disk Name: Toshiba MK7559GSXP Volume C:/D:/F:/)". I am sure I will have to replace the hard disk. Right now it is a Toshiba 750GB SATA hard disk drive, 5400 RPM, 2.5 inch small form factor (SFF). Can this hard drive be replaced with a Hybrid SSHD like the following:
    Seagate Hybrid Drives ST1000LM014 1TB MLC/8GB 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s NCQ 2.5" Laptop SSHD
    or
TOSHIBA Hybrid Drives MQ01ABD100H 1TB+8GB(NAND Flash) 32MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 2.5" Laptop SSHD
If not, what would be the best replacement hard drive that you reccommend?

    Hi,
You can put the second HDD on the second bay, existing BIOS can handle this BUT you need more hardware namely a caddy set (caddy & cables). You can buy from:

  • Hard disk failure imminent

I have a Pavilion 1400-Z desktop. It was purchased last November.  I have only had it for 2 months.  Now everytime it reboots I get an error message about an imminent hard disk failure.  It says in a message after I login that the hard disks reporting failure are volumes C:\,D:\
These are both partitions set up in single 500gb drive that were set up as part of the factory install.
Is there anything that can be done other than replacing this hard drive?
Obviously it is still under warranty.  If replacement is the only solution, how do I go about getting the process started.  I've barely gotten to use my new computer and it is already failing.
    Failing Drive SATAO
    Failing Attributer: #05
I am very disappointed that I continue to have hardware problems with factory installed HP components.

Since your computer is still under warranty, your best bet is to contact HP Customer Support and start the troubleshooting / repair process.

  • HARD DISK FAILURE IS IMMINENT

    Product Name: HP Pavilion p6390d
    OS: Windows 7 32 - bit
Error Message: Hard Disk Failure is Imminent
Things I did before having this error:
I reformatted my computer to erase an error from my program (specifically: solidworks) since it has conflicts regarding on 2 versions i installed and 1 of which has lost some of its files and i dont know how it got lost and so i resorted to reformatting.
I did the normal formatting process, like format my hard disk and i followed the process neatly. I got a success on my formatting, then i installed my microsoft office and other important stuff needed for my work. A couple of hours passed it seems to give me an error on HARD DISK FAILURE. Which i thought was just an error maybe on my formatting so what i did was press the ASK ME AGAIN LATER button since i had already backed up my files. So i reformatted it once again hoping the error would leave but i notice the moment i booted the windows 7 32 bit installer i seem to have this error on my boot screen (BELOW IMAGE). And then after a couple of minutes the lagging would come but i still managed to put this THREAD up here and hoping someone would give me a solution on what to do or suggestions on buying something. Please feel free to SUGGEST anything like buying a new hard disk or something. I'll be waiting on your reply 24/7. Thanks
    Additional Information:
After my first format i installed AVG on my desktop just to stop small viruses that might affect my computer. I scanned it. and then afterwards i tried their new added feature which was PC TUNE UP, REGISTRY CLEANER and i used their program since they were the ones who detected that there are errors in my registry and other stuff (I still didn't have the HARD DISK ERROR at this time) and so i successfully downloaded the software and use it. and so i uninstalled the program since it was only a trial and can only be used 1 time. After sometime i seem to receive the message. And so my story goes on.(part where i reformatted my computer again)

    Derek, welcome to the forum.
The hard drive has S.M.A.R.T. technology.  This tests your hard drive for possible failure.  In your case, it appears that your drive is ready to fail.  I suggest buying a new drive.

  • G72 Hard Disk Failure and Replacement

I have had a HP g72 laptop for just over two years. Within the first year, right before the warranty expired, I had a charging issue that was resolved under warranty. Last year, I began to get warnings on startup that I had an imminent hard disk failure. I backed up most of the important things on my computer and kept using. Finally, it seems that my hard drive has failed for good. I have tried to restart my computer about 10 times and everytime I get the same message: insert boot disk and press any key. I am contemplating replacing the hard drive instead of the whole computer, but I am not sure what I need to do. Also, if this is such a problem, why hasn't HP done anything to fix it. It has been so frustrating with my HP laptops that I am considering going to another company. HELP!

Hard drives fail. That is why backup is so critical. HP does not even make hard drives so I am not sure what they could do to fix the general issue that hard drives are about the most fragile piece of technology that most people encounter.
You can get a replacement hard drive for under $75. This one would be good:

  • Window detected a hard disk Problem on my Satellite L505-S5988

    Hi,
I have a Toshiba Satellite L505-S5988 with window 7 Home Premium 09 Service pack 1.  It is 2+ years old and my hard drive is Toshiba MK3263GSX 287GB.  Lately, I got a window warning message as “ Windows detected a hard disk Problem.  Back up your files immediately to prevent information loss, and then contact the computer manufacturer to determine if you need to repair or place the disk…..  The following hard disks are reporting failure:  Disk Name: TOSHIBA MK3263GSX Volume: C:\  “.
Since then, I have imaged my laptop and run malware/spyware softwares, and it looks like my computer is clean.  The laptop device manager said my hard drive is working properly.  However the warning keeps pops up.  I opened Administrative Event Viewer and found the below warning:
“Log Name: System,   Source: Disk,    Event ID: 52.
The driver has detected that device \Device\Harddisk0\DR0 has predicted that it will fail. Immediately back up your data and replace your hard disk drive. A failure may be imminent.”

    D000000000000000000000000
Besides this warning,  there are also other errors and warnings back to years ago, such as AFS failed to load, print service…  Despite all these errors and warnings, my laptop seems to be running OK.  I was not prevented from doing anything that I usually do.
    Questions:
Is there a tool I can run to verify that my hard drive is truly bad?
Can any tool further identify where?
Can it be repaired? Reformat? Or I have to replace with a new one?
What options I have if I have to replace with a new one?
What is average cost of it?
Any help will be highly appreciated.

That's good enough for me. I would replace the disk.

  • HP G62 Notebook has Smart Hard disk error

My HP G62 Notebook PC just stopped in the middle of my doing homework the other day and came up with an error code on the screen. I have went in through the BIOS and ran a hard disk test. It passes the first 2 tests and then fails on the third one.
I have tried to back it up over a month, just in case it was a virus but that doesn't seem to make a difference. Now upon start up it says the following:
    "SMART Hard Disk Error
The SMART Hard disk check has detected an imminent failure. To ensure not data loss, please backup the content immediatly and run the Hard Disk Test in System Diagnostics.
    Hard Disk 1 (301)"
Does this mean my computer is done? Do I need a new hard drive? I'm definetly not the most tech savvy person. I did see another board where they suggested removing the hard drive and then reinstalling it. This doesn't seem to make a difference. HELP!!

    Hi,
The Smart error would indicate that the Hard Drive is failing and needs to be replaced.
If your notebook is still under warranty, contact HP and arrange to have the drive replaced - you can check your warranty status Here.

There are 2 ways of running a test on your hard drive . One way is through BIOS (F10) and other is through HP System diagnostics(F2). How exactly was test initiated from your end ?
The SMART imminent failure for Hard drive is an indication that your Hard drive is on verge of failure or might fail anytime depending on usage. I would recommend you to backup your files immediately because your hard drive might die at any moment and I'm pretty sure its needs to be replaced.
Kindly check the instructions over here in order to run the test for your hard drive

  • SMART Hard Disk Error - Replace Hard Drive?

A couple of days ago I recieved an error when I started my computer (HP Pavilion dv6-6071eo), saying "SMART Hard Disk Error" followed by a message telling me that the SMART hard disk check has detected and imminent failure. It told me to backup my files and then press F2 and run a hard disk test. On the last row it displayed "Hard Disk 1 (301)". I tried to run the hard disk test, which failed instantly. I also ran the BIOS hard disk test. It passed the short test without problems and then stopped rather shortly after the long test started with the error "Hard Disk 1 Full 305". My computer has also been running slowly over the last week. From what I've read so far it seems I have to replace my Hard Drive. Is this correct? If yes, would this be a suitable (functional) replacement: http://www.dustinhome.se/product/5010151237/western-digital-black-2-5-320gb-7200rpm-sata-300-16mb/#intcmp=searchProvider_dacsa. Also, would it be worth it (and possible) upgrading to an SSD for noise and heat reduction, which is a problem with this laptop (and several other simular laptops from HP) compared to other laptops. Also, it might be good to mention my warranty has expired.

Have you checked to see if there is any free space left on the hard drive? A full hard drive will make the system run very slowly and it can also keep the system from working properly if it is full enough. The fact that you pass the short test means there is nothing major mechanically wrong with the drive. Just right click on the icon for the main drive likely C:\ in "Computer: and select "properties". If the drive is not actually full then I suggest replacing it. Yes, if you can afford an SSD there is no question that is the way to go. There is nothing not good about an ssd other than an occasional struggle to install it. I have been using ssds for a while and I have never had the installation problems we often see reported here but don't be dissuaded, we are here to help .

  • Hard disk drive replaicement

I have a Hard Disk 1 (301) error message, when turning on my laptop. It says something along the lines of "the hard disk has detected an imminent failure".
My laptop is a HP Pavilion G7-1033cl   (windows 7), purchased in 2011,  so it's out of warranty.
As far as a noticed in some other answers, I shoul replace the hard-disk for sure.
Ok, my question is: What kind of hard disk shoul I buy for replacing it? What's the best recommended?
    Thank you for your help!
    GStoicu

Whenever the Hard Disk fails with an error Hard Disk 1 [301] that indicates that the Hard Disk Drive has failed and that requires a replacement to resolve the issue
This issue could be due to Application or driver conflicts, virus issues, file corruptions due to incompatible applications, improper shutdowns, update failures due to conflicts, sudden power surges, if notebook is dropped etc..
HP will provide a replacement Hard Disk Drive if the Notebook warranty is Active, If not you need buy a SATA Hard Disk Drive from a retail shop nearby
Please make sure you are getting at least equal capacity as the original one in order to use Recovery Disks. If you need you can buy a larger, but not smaller capacity Hard Disk Drive. For example if you have a 500GB Hard Disk Drive you can upgrade it to 750GB Hard Disk Drive but not 320GB Hard Disk Drive
Please try the below shown troubleshooting steps once:
Step 01. Remove the battery and unplug the AC/Power Adapter
Step 02. Press and hold the Power button for more than 30 Seconds
Step 03. Plug in the AC/Power Adapter (leave the Battery out for now)
Step 04. Press the Power button and check if the Unit works normal
If the above mentioned steps does not help, then you can try reseating the Hard Drive on your Notebook
If the issue persists again please Contact HP if your HP Notebook is under warranty, HP would replace the Hard Disk Drive and provide you a Recovery media to restore factory operating system after replacement (if you've not yet created Recovery Discs/USB Media)
Note: Back up all the personal data to an external drive if it's possible. Otherwise you could connect the failed HDD via SATA to USB adapter with another PC or same PC after replacement of HDD & re-installation of OS and try copying /recovering the files. • Hard disk 1 (301)

    Hi,
When my laptop start it appears on screen that your Hard Disk 1 smart (301).The system hard Disk has detected an imminent failure to ensure no data loss please backup the contents immediately
After this error i also run the System Diagnostic quick and comprehensive hard disk test and failed. the error message appears at startup of the windows...
i have important data and hard disk is of 500 GB but the laptop is not under warranty.
Model of my PC is HP Elitebook 8570p Notebook pc.
Can any one help me to make me out of it ,please ???????

You can put the hard disk in an external enclosure and attempt to copy data from it.
Unfortunately, there is no guarantee that it will work.  That is why it is important to save any data that is important to an external storage of some sort or other.
I wish I had better news for you on this, but hard disks do fail. Replace the hard disk with a new one of the same mobile hard disk type and use the recovery media. That will enable you to restore the operating system and drivers to make the notebook useful again.
Your notebook uses mobile SATA hard disk.   SSD disks are also compatible with your notebook and are a viable performance upgrade.
