Hello, My hard drive broke and does not work anymore at all. I guess my windows licence is still valid though, so i bought a new hard drive and i try to recover my version via windows website. After verification of my product key, they tell me to contact the builder because it was pre-installed. which i'm doing  What should i do to get my version of windows back? thanks

Your currently published pages can't be opened by iWeb so your iDisk files will not work (for editing). They will still work as Web pages and you can link to them with the new iWeb pages you'll be forced to make.
iWeb uses a special folder (Domain.sites) to store your data. If you had backed this folder up you could bring it into the proper location on your new hard drive.

Type move itunes library into the google serach bar.
It has always been very basic to always maintain  abackup copy of your computer.  Do you not have a backup copy?

If you have the media on an iDevice then you should be able to get most of your non-iTunes purchases back as well. See this post from forum regular Zevoneer for options.

    Boot into Internet Recovery
If your Mac problem is a little less common — your hard drive has failed or you’ve installed a hard drive without OS X, for example — Internet Recovery takes over automatically. It downloads and starts Lion Recovery directly from Apple servers over a broadband Internet connection. And your Mac has access to the same Lion Recovery features online. Internet Recovery is built into every newly-released Mac starting with the Mac mini and MacBook Air.

A shared folder popped up in my hard drive. How do I get him out?

Try using the Share ➙ Media Browser menu option in iMovie.  That will save the movie to the Movies folder on your hard drive and make it available in iDVD's media browser to drag into a menu window. If the movie contains chapters two entires will be created in the main menu: Play Movie and Scene Selection.

Go to the iTunes Store, log into your account, and click the Purchases link under the Quick Links. From there you should be able to re-download some or all of your purchased content. Note that not all content has been licensed for re-downloading in all countries at this time; you can see what content you can download here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5085
You can also re-download content using an iOS device.
    For more information, see:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519
For content not purchased from the iTunes Store, as John said you'll need to restore from your backups or get the content from whatever place you got it originally.

  • There is a question mark on my hard drive disk, how do I get rid of it.

There is a question mark on my hard drive disk, how do I get rid of it. I recently went to the genius bar in Albuquerque, NM and they restarted it and did a partition on it and what I needed was fixed but I still have a  question mark on my start up disk.

There is no startup system on it. Or, you need to open Startup Disk preferences and select a startup disk. Or your startup disk lacks a name such as "Macintosh HD," for example.

  • Mail is GONE!! But must be on hard drive! HOW CAN I GET IT BACK?

I have OS X 10.3.9 running on an iBook, and I was trying to set up my Mail to go to Gmail. But I overwrote the information in Accounts for my old email server account, and now I seem to have lost ALL my messages! They must still be on my hard drive! How can I "see" them again??? Please help me, it's a LOT of messages!
    Ojin

What does “I overwrote the information in Accounts” mean? What exactly did you do? More info, please.
Deleting a mail account (which i not the same as overwritting the account information) causes all your mail stored in that account’s mailboxes to be removed from the computer as well, and you you were warned that this would happen by an alert similar to this for Mail 2.x (I don’t know what the exact wording is in Mac OS X 10.3):
    Remove Account
Are you sure you want to remove the <AccountType> account "<AccountName>"?
This will permanently delete the account setup information, mailboxes, and messages from your computer. Messages stored on the mail server will not be affected. For IMAP-type accounts, this is not a problem because mail is stored on the server. If you deleted a POP account, however, your mail has certainly been wiped out from the computer, not just moved somewhere.
To prevent that from happening, you should have moved your mail to custom “On My Mac” mailboxes instead of leaving it in the account’s mailboxes. Actually, using the account’s Inbox and Sent mailboxes for archiving purposes is a bad idea regardless — see Overstuffed mailbox is unexpectedly empty.
If the POP account was configured to leave the messages on the server for some time, setting up the account again would cause any messages still on the server to be downloaded again, just like for IMAP accounts, but this would only work for received mail that has not yet been removed from the server.
If the messages are not on the server and you don’t have a backup (which you should have made before doing something like that), you may try to salvage as many deleted mbox files as possible with a data recovery tool such as Data Rescue II or FileSalvage (the files to be recovered would be different in the case of Mail 2.x). Stop using your computer right now if you want to try that, as anything you do with the computer may cause the deleted files to be overwritten.

  • My hard drive died, how can I get my pictures back from iPad onto a new library on the hard drive?

    Hi there,
I have a Mac Book, and as it's a little older, and was getting full, I moved my iPhoto library onto an external hard drive. This external hard drive was always plugged in, and iPhoto used it as it's store so to speak.
However, the hard drive has died which means I now have no access to any of my photo's.
As I sync both my iPad and iPhone to iphoto in it entirity, at the minute I have ALL my photos on both my iPad and my iPhone.
How can I recover the photo's onto my mac or new hard drive from the ipad or iphone? I don't dare plug either in at the minute as I don't want the Sync to remove the photos.
    HELP! Please!
    James

  • Deleted my music files to make room on hard drive. How do I get them back with iTunes Match now?

I ran out of room and since I paid for iTunes Match I thought I could delete my files but still have the music. Now the luttle clouds are gone from my library and when I try to play a song it tells me it can't find the file. How do I get the clouds back and the option to re-download just what I want?

I actually deleted my backup :-) That's the problem. But thanks.
I've managed to get some back but via a slightly different method.
Because the files weren't there, when I deleted them from my library they actually disappeared from the list.... So I created a new library (backed up my original one) and then synched that with Match so that all the files appeared. I'm just going through the ones I'm missing clicking 'download' and then when they're all back on my hard drive I'll revert to the previous Library which will hopefully pick up all of the recovered files.
    Bingo!

  • I just upgraded my hard drive. now how do i get all my stuff back onto the computer

I just got my iMac back from repair. I had to replace the hard drive. The Geneus people wiped the drive and said all i have to do to get my desktop back the way it used to look, with all my pictures and documents and stuff, was to install from a time machine or external hard drive. WHen I plugged my hard drive to import everything nothing happened. So i skipped the step. Now how do i go back and install evertything?

It doesn't just happen, you have select the backup.
Start from scratch - Insert the Installer DVD and boot to it by holding down the C key on startup. OK the language page, then go to the menu bar (don't touch the continue button yet).
From the Utilities menu select Disk Utility.
In DU, select your internal drive in the sidebar (the top item with the makers name and serial no.). Run Repair Disk. If that comes up as disk OK, click the partition tab. Select the partiton from the drop-down above the graphic; 1 partiton is all you need. Go to the options button and ensure that the partition scheme is GUID  and the file system to Mac OS Extended (Journalled). Name the partiton (usually Macintosh HD), click Apply.
When the Macintosh HD volume appears, quit DU and continue with the installation.
When asked if you want to migrate from another source, choose either Time Machine backup or another drive, as appropriate. If it's not connected, you'll be prompted to connect.
You can choose what to restore - user data, applications, preferences etc.
It's best to do this now, rather than create an account and then use Migration Assistant; MA will create another account and you'll have problems accessing your data.

  • P745: Possible Bad Hard Drive. How do I get Toshiba Recovery Wizard on New HD?

Hey everyone last week my computer was behaving slouchy so I did a simple restart. When it restarted it took me to a screen which said loading "Windows files" then it took me to Startup Repair. Startup repair could not repair the issue and I did a few check disk scans and one of them said 4 sectors of the hard drive were bad. I used Toshiba recovery wizard and restored the computer to an out of box state.
I also installed ubuntu 12.04 as a dual boot option last night. Now fast forward to this morning and I am using Windows. After installing Toshiba driver updates the laptop is again behaving slouchy and refusing to load web pages. When I restart the computer after one to the driver updates I get an error about not being able to start windows and so I choose "Attempt to boot from last successful attempt" this works. However, something tells me that the bad sectors of the hard drive are to blame.
So I want to order this 1TB toshiba notebook hard drive and install in the P745. http://www.toshiba.com/us/accessories/Storage/Hard-Drive-Replacements-and-Upgrades/1TB/PH2100U-1I54
However, the hard drive will be blank and so I want it to have Windows 7 on it and the Toshiba recovery wizard which I find to be extremely useful.
How do I go about getting back Windows 7 on the new hard drive and the recovery partition on the new drive. Do I order the recovery usb from Toshiba? https://support.toshiba.com/repair?orderType=SFF
Then somehow this usb will assist me in transferring the contents of my current hard drive to the new one including Windows and Toshiba Recovery Wizard?
I would be grateful for any clarifications and assistance you can provide.
    Thanks.

Post full model and operating system!
    Your answer in general -
You should have the option to create recovery media from your Toshiba so you don't have to buy them.
Type in your search bar recovery and the recovery media creator or may be named something different should be there to make the 3 or 4 DVD's.
This will restore to out of box settings including the recovery partition. - IT DOES NOT BACKUP YOUR OTHER OPERATING SYSTEM or anything you have added since it was new.
During the recovery it will ask if you want to rescue your info or you can save your documents, pictures , etc manually before hand.
If you reformatted the drive and installed a stand alone version of windows 7 there will not be a recovery partition and you will have to order the recovery media, you can get it here in US : http://support.toshiba.com/recovery#media

  • Envy dv6 notebook - Hard drive failure - How do I get windows 8 reloaded on my Notebook

Hard drive failed in the notebook / laptop. How do I get windows 8 back on the new drive? Hp told me they will not send or sell me recovery disks. WHat kind of crap is that?
    Help!

Once one is out of warranty HP is not obligated to send recocovery media for free. Owners have a responsibility to create the recovery media shortly after removing their notebook during the inital product setup.
You can purhase the recovery media from HP here.
The BIOS does hold the product code for Windows 8, so that is a non issue.

  • How do I get songs on my ipods back into my itunes library, which was lost due to hard drive crash, How do I get songs on my ipods back into my itunes library, which was lost due to hard drive crash

Due to a hard drive crash I lost my entire Itunes library.  Majority of this was from an extensive CD library that I imported into itunes.  When I reloaded itunes and viewed my library I only found the titles purchased from itunes.  How do I get music off of an itune classic & itune nano ipods and put back into the library so I don't have to re import my extensive cd collection

If you purchased all of the songs through itunes store, please follow these steps:
    1. Open up Itunes and Click on Itunes Store
    2. Once you're in the Itunes Store look to right side of the screen and you should see the word "purchased". Click purchased and you'll be sent to a purchase screen.
    3. Click on "All Songs" and then it will show all the songs you've downloaded. From there you just hit the button that looks like a cloud with an arrow on it, and it will download all the songs all over again.
If you didn't purchase them through Itunes, then you'll have to download software that will strip the songs from your iPod. And here is a guide about how to transfer ipod songs back to computer. Feel free to email me if you need further help.
