i did upgrade from photoshop cs4 to cs5 few years ago by buying an upgrade CD..now my hard drive crashed and i lost my photoshop cs5..
serial number is available but i dont have the cs5 upgrade cd. how can i get the photoshop cs5 on my laptop?

You should be able to:
Backup the device to the new installation
Transfer your purchases into a newly authorized library
Recover any other media using third party tools as suggested in this post from forum regular Zevoneer
Restore the device from the backup
This process should switch the association of the device to the new library, preserving the data and settings in your apps.
May also be prudent to attempt a backup to iCloud directly from the device before you start... Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > iCloud Backup > On. It won't save any media but it would preserve the general account settings and documents in case anything goes wrong while you are trying to extract your other data.
When you get it all fixed, make a backup!

Our hard drive failed and none of the data is recoverable. I have a new hard drive and want to do a new post on our blog, but am worried it will delete our old blog (hence all our pix etc too) if I publish from this empty new blog. How do I get the old blog back on our computer from the iDisk I guess? Any help would be great cuz I have no clue what I'm doing!
Same problem with our gallery and iPhoto. How to get those pix back in iPhoto apart from downloading them from the site?

Hard Drive Crashed Having Problems Getting My Music Back

I completely lost my laptop hard drive. It was unsalvagable. Before I reinstalled Itunes on the new hard drive I plugged my Nano in and copied all of the music on it to a desktop folder as a backup. Then I reinstalled Itunes and plugged my Nano into the computer. I got a message that my Ipod was not recognized on this computer, or something to that effect, and did I want to associate it with my library, I clicked yes.
I can't get my music to play on the Ipod. My computer was able to recognize the music that I had put into the backup folder and I can add it to my libraries, and play it from Itunes but when I put it on the Ipod but it won't play. Oddly enough, two songs that I purchased a few years back will play on the Ipod but nothing else; they weren't on my Ipod Nano to begin with, they just showed up in my library when I added the new hard drive to my account.
Is there anyway to reauthorize all of the music or somehow make it play? It is possible to just uninstall Itunes, copy the desktop music files to the Ipod and then somehow start over, etc.?

I'm not sure I completely understand what you've done.
1) Did you back up the songs from your old hard drive? Those are your base files for songs purchased through iTunes, rather than those on the iPod. My understanding of Apple's DRM scheme is that the iPod is only intended to REFLECT what you have stored on your hard drive. Always a good idea to back up those hard drive files on an external drive, etc.
2) Once authorized, your iPod should play anything you are authorized to play on your main computer.
3) If you're trying to add those old files copied from your iPod back into iTunes, that may not be a possibility... Part of Apple's DRM scheme.

General File Recovery
If you stop using the drive it's possible to recover deleted files that have not been overwritten by using recovery software such as Data Rescue II, File Salvage or TechTool Pro. Each of the preceding come on bootable CDs to enable usage without risk of writing more data to the hard drive. Two free alternatives are Disk Drill and TestDisk. Look for them and demos at MacUpdate or CNET Downloads. Recovery software usually provides trial versions that enable you to determine if the software would help before actually paying for it. Beyond this or if the drive has completely failed, then you would need to send the drive to a recovery service which is very expensive.
The longer the hard drive remains in use and data are written to it, the greater the risk your deleted files will be overwritten.

You will need to install the old drive into an external enclosure to try and access it.
Any applications purchased from the App Store can simply be redownloaded.

Connect your iPod to your computer. If it is set to update automatically you'll get a message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod. Your iPod should appear in the iTunes source list from where you can change the update setting to manual and use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Also when using most of the utilities listed below your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default. Once you are safely connected there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod. If you have any iTunes Music Store purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. There are various programs out there for recovering photos from an iPod, have a look at the ones below. If you search the internet you can find more. Just be aware that what you'll be recovering will be photos optimised for the iPod so they won't be the same quality as the original full resolution versions:

Keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync. I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive

When i got my Wacom Intous, I got Photoshop Elements 11. But when I registered to Wacom.com, I used an email that no longer exists(It deleted after I was inactive). Wacom support has been so crappy and they haven't looked into changing my email for me, so i can't get into my Wacom account for the Adobe serial number. How can I prove I have bought the software bundle and get the key for the program from Adobe? I haven't heard back from them either when I wrote last week.

You can use your old email address to login to your account on Adobe as long as you remember your password. If you have forgotten your password then the reset link can only be sent to that particular email address which you don't have access to.
So if you know the password then login to your adobe account (using your old email address) at this link:

At the top right hand corner, there is a link to sign in. Use it and login in the normal way. You can browse your data and ALSO change the email address so that it contains the correct one which you have access to. It could be anything - yahoo, gmail, Hotmail, outlook etc etc

What version of PS? If it's CC, just reinstall the CC application manager then PS and sign in. For an earlier version you will need to call Abobe to have you S/N reset.

Right click on your device in the device list and choose "transfer purchses" to copy all music bought in iTunes to your new iTunes library.

If you still have the receipt or other proof of purchase, you can ask Apple to send you the serial. Otherwise, bad luck mate.. Good news is, you can now buy Logic Pro 9 from App Store for just 199 USD
