Hi Perilman,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities! I understand that all of your iTunes media is on an external hard drive and you would like to move that media onto your new Windows computer hard drive. The following article has step by step instructions for this specifically. Part 5 in the External drive section is probably what is going to be most relevant to you.
iTunes: How to move your music to a new computer

Part 5: Copy music to your new computer
To copy all your music files (including the library file that holds all your playlists and other settings) to your new computer:
I hope this helps,

How do I transfer my iPod content to a new computer?

The link that brought you here tells you how, as far as Apple has designed it.
Some of the information below has subsequently appeared in a document by turingtest2: Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device - https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991
Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was planned with you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchased content.
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848 - only purchases from iTunes Store
For transferring other items from an i-device to a computer you will have to use third party commercial software. Examples (check the web for others; this is not an exhaustive listing, nor do I have any idea if they are any good):
    - Expod (free) - http://www.headlightsoft.com/expod/ - Mac, universal for 104.+ (newer machines try de-Tune)

How do I transfer "device backup files" to a new computer?

Place the domain file in your Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder.  If there's no iWeb folder create one and put it in there.  Now try to launch iWeb and see if it will find and open the Domain file.
If you still can't open the domain file do the following:
To open your domain file in Lion, Mountain Lion, Mavericks or Yosemite or to switch between multiple domain files Cyclosaurus has provided us with the following script that you can make into an Applescript application with Script Editor. Open Script Editor, copy and paste the script below into Script Editor's window and save as an application.
do shell script"/usr/bin/defaults write com.apple.iWeb iWebDefaultsDocumentPath -boolean no"
    delay 1
    tell application "iWeb" to activate
You can download an already compiled version with this link: iWeb Switch Domain.
Just launch the application, find and select the domain file in your Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder that you want to open and it will open with iWeb. It modifies the iWeb preference file each time it's launched so one can switch between domain files.
WARNING: iWeb Switch Domain will overwrite an existing Domain.sites2 file if you select to create a new domain in the same folder.  So rename your domain files once they've been created to something other than the default name.
NOTE: Since Lion the Home/Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and press the Return key - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
For Mavericks and Yosemite go to your Home folder and use the View ➙ Show View Options menu to bring the this window:

how do i transfer existing iphoto albums to a new computer?
    thanks

Are you asking about transfering iPhoto Libraries from one Mac to another Mac? Or about transferring iPhoto albums from an IOS device to a computer? And what is your iPhoto version?
If you are talking about your Mac, simply transfer the iPhoto Library to the new computer. You can copy it using the network, by copying to a portable disk, or by connecting your old mac to the new mac in target disk mode. After copying the iPhoto Library to your Home folder on the new mac, double click it to open it in iPhoto and to point iPhoto to it.
If you are asking about transfering albums from an IOS device; the albums you create on your IOS device are not synced back to your computer. You share the photos by adding them to the Photo Stream, creating shared Photo streams, sending them by email, or publishing web journals.

  • How to download songs from IPOD mini to a NEW computer

My current home computer crashed and I had to replace it unexpectedly. Now I want to download my songs from my IPOD to the new computer. Not knowing the computer was going to crash I wasn't able to backup the songs on my IPOD mini. I have over 1000 songs on my IPOD and do not want to have to start over. Is there anyway to transfer my songs from my IPOD to the new computer?

These links will give you several methods of recovering whatever songs remain on your iPod; some free, some third-party software, some more comprehensive for restoring playlists, ratings, playcounts, etc. Read them and their associated links before deciding on a strategy that works for you. There are many various third-party software programs that will offer a more robust process, or an easier GUI. Do a Google search for them if the links below leave you wanting…
Don King Resurrected: Deleted files from hard drive (free user steps – music recovery only)
MacMuse: Computer Crashed (free user steps – music recovery only)
Copying music from iPod to computer (a primer on various methods and software)
Copying Songs from Your iPod to a Mac or PC (resource for 3rd party software)
    iPodRip Software
    PodUtil Software
XPlay (Software For Music Recovery &/or Cross-Platform Functionality)
XPlay Photo Browser (For recovering Photos)
After recovering your song files, strongly consider developing a thorough backup strategy for just this type of situation.
You need at least three sets of your music:
-- One full set on the PC within iTunes (on internal HD or ExHD)
-- One full set on an separate external backup medium (CD/DVD/ExHD/other)
-- One (full or partial) set on the iPod
Music files on just the iPod and the computer is not considered having any backup. If you cannot store your complete music files on the computer, then create and maintain two external sets.
Backup both the music files and the Library database file (iTunes Library.itl). What are the iTunes Library files?
Here is a post on developing a backup strategy: http://discussions.apple.com/click.jspa?searchID=394618&messageID=1263275

  • I replaced my old computerwith a new one.  How do I transfer my music purchases to my new computer?

I had an old Windows XP PC that I had my iTunes library on and I would purchase music through iTunes and it could be shared with my kids 2 iPods and our 2 iPads.  I also have an older 30gig iPod Video that I would sync with my old desktop computer. I did iMatch and have everything stored on iCloud. I bought a windows 8 PC to replace the old desktop and thought that I could simply log into my Apple account with my new computer and essentially "download" my library onto the new computer.  That is not working for me.  I can see all the music listed in iTunes but the text is greyed out and I cannot play any of the music from my desktop.  I deauthorized my old computer and as far as I can tell I authorized my new one.  I cannot see my Purchases music folder on the new computer.  On top of this, my son wiped everything off of his iPod Touch (4th gen) and I am trying to get the games and things I purchased from the App Store reinstalled on his iPod.  Can anyone tell me what I need to do?  HELP!!! LOL

  • How do I transfer my iWeb files to a new computer?

I recently did a clean install of Yosemite to my new iMac, getting rid of years of unneeded files.
I have successfully reinstalled all the programs I use frequently, but I am stumped on how to transfer my iWeb files so they work on my new computer.
I have transferred the preferences and the domain files, but they still do not show up when I open iWeb.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
And......how I wish Apple would bring iWeb back. It is the best app for making websites I have ever used.

Place the domain file in your Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder.  If there's no iWeb folder create one and put it in there.  Now try to launch iWeb and see if it will find and open the Domain file.

  • How do I transfer (re-install) licensed CS2, to new computer

I have licensed copies of CS2, Adobe Acrobat Distiller 8, Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0 and Photoshop Album 2.0 on an old computer that is being replaced with a new Intel machine. I hope to transfer or re-install my Adobe software onto my new computer without issue, but I am not familiar with procedure to accomplish this. Perhaps it can just be installed as licensed as before. The old computer is going to a grandson and I want to erase and re-format the hard drive, but not until I am sure my production software is working. Suggestions sincerely requested on how to do this.

On the assumption you have backed up your music to an external hard drive, just connect that to the new computer and copy stuff over.
If you are on a MAC and the old machine is not dead then you can hook the two up and copy over.
And I daresay you can do the same if you have a PC and the original is not dead.

  • I saved my bookmark file from my old computer on a USB...How do I transfer them to Firefox on this new computer. I don't see an import option???

My last computer died, but before it did, I copied my bookmark file onto a USB flash drive. How do I use that to import my bookmarks to this new computer, since I don't see any import option like I did on my other computer???

You can find Import HTML and Restore JSON under "Import & Backup" in the Bookmarks Manager (Library)

  • How do I transfer my music library to a new computer?

My old computer died and I got a new one. I got my itunes purchases on my new computer, but I have a lot of other music. The only option I see in itunes is sync which would replace my phones library with the itunes library... which I don't want. I want to replace my itunes library with my phones library without the use of my old computer.

You mean you never made backups of your old computer? This is the Third Millennium; it just seems incredible to me that anyone who uses a computer doesn't make regular backups of it. Perhaps the suggestion that everyone should be required to have to pass a license test to use a computer isn't such a bad one after all.
The iPhone is not a backup device; if you have not kept backups of important data you cannot depend on the iPhone to make up for your mistake. However, if you google for "iphone file browser" you might find a solution.

  • HT1751 do any one know how to take music from my iphone to my new computer

family i had a laptop with my itune library. it crash but my music is on my iphone and now i have a new desk top how do i trasfer my music here for back up if anything happen to my phone

Have you failed to maintain a bacup copy of your computer?
The iphone is not a storage/backup device.  The sync is one way - computer to iphone.  The excpetion is itunes purchases:  File>Devices>Transfer Purchases

  • HT1727 i bought a text tone on my iphone and i recently got a new computer and synced my phone to the new pc how would i transfer the text tone to the new computer?

would it work on my computer if i just copied the text tone onto a flash drive and added it to itunes?

    iDevices are not backup devices.
Move or copy the content from the old computer to the new computer.
Attempts to sync the content from the iDevice to the new library will wipe the content from the device.
