hey guyz today i have a very hard problem ... i have a verizon IPhone 4 and it's in a black Screen doesn't do anything .. and doesn't want to pulg
    to the PC ... I tried .. everything .. DFU mode ... recovery mode .. nth ...

thanks I tried this but no help. Went to the genius desk today and they checked the screen connection inside. This fixed it so happy. Seems it works loose and can become unreliable. Cheers

  • Do you agree with me that mackeeper is a very bad software? I installed yesterday, it ran only once. After it didn't recognize the clue. I had a hard problem to unsinstalle it. I am trying to recover $39,50 I paid for it. Never install mackeeper.

I fill very bad from Chile.

Apps like MacKeeper or any other maintenance apps like CleanMyMac 1 or 2, TuneUpMyMac or anything like these apps, installed on your Mac, while they appear to be helpful, can do too good a job of data "cleanup" causing the potential to do serious data corruption or data deletion and render a perfectly running OS completely dead and useless leaving you with a frozen, non-functional Mac.
Plus, these type of apps aren't really necessary. They really aren't.
There are manual methods to clear off unnecessary data off of your Mac that are safer and you have complete control over your Mac and not just leave a piece of auto cleaning software in charge of clearing off data off of your Mac.
These types of apps potential of causing OS X issues outweighs the implied good and benefits these types of hard drive or memory "cleaning" apps are written to do.
Plus, the software companies that write these apps make it hard to easily uninstall these apps if something DOES go wrong and these apps work in a way where you have no recovery or revert function to return your Mac back to its former, working state in the event something does go wrong.
Apps that have no obvious way or uninstall themselves or do not come with a dedicated uninstaller app to uninstall the app in question should be avoided and NOT even considered for download, install and use.
It is best to never, EVER download and install these types of apps.
The risk to your system and data is too great a risk!

  • Fglrx + acpi = hard problems

Hello to all, I installed one year ago chakra linux distrbution and all works fine but some things doesn't like to me, so I installed Slackware, but I don't have much time to spent compiling programs.... and compiling... so, I come back with arch + kde. The problem is the ATI video card, I have one 4870x2 PCI-e 16x 2gb gddr5 (chipset r700) and in the last installation I don't remember problems with the propietary driver. But this time the driver doesn't work.
My hardware is: motherboard gigabyte ga-ma970fxt-ud5p, phenom 2 945 black edition am3, 8gb ddr3 @1600mhz ocz reaper, hdd WD velociraptor 300gb, video card described before.
I made a fresh install last Monday and every works fine, but I want to install the ATI video propietary drivers and...
In the first step, I read five or six times this page https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/ATI_Catalyst and I followed the procedure according to the section called "Installing from AUR" and I made:
    su root
    pacman -Sy base-devel
    su faktorqm
    cd /home/faktorqm
    wget http://aur.archlinux.org/packages/ca/ca … ils.tar.gz
    wget https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/ca/c … mon.tar.gz
    tar -zxvf catalyst-utils.tar.gz
    tar -zxvf catalyst-daemon.tar.gz
    cd catalyst-utils/
    makepkg -s PKGBUILD
    su root
    pacman -U catalyst-utils-11.12-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz
    su faktorqm
    mv ati-driver-installer-11-12-x86.x86_64.run ../catalyst-daemon/
    cd ..
    cd catalyst-daemon/
    makepkg -s PKGBUILD
    su root
    pacman -U catalyst-daemon-11.12-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz
    su faktorqm
    cd ..
    No errors in this procedure.

    # The following modules are loaded before any boot hooks are
    # run. Advanced users may wish to specify all system modules
    # in this array. For instance:
    # MODULES="piix ide_disk reiserfs"
    MODULES="fglrx"
    # BINARIES
    # This setting includes any additional binaries a given user may
    # wish into the CPIO image. This is run first, so it may be used to
    # override the actual binaries used in a given hook.
    # (Existing files are NOT overwritten if already added)
    # BINARIES are dependency parsed, so you may safely ignore libraries
    BINARIES=""
    # FILES
    # This setting is similar to BINARIES above, however, files are added
    # as-is and are not parsed in any way. This is useful for config files.
    # Some users may wish to include modprobe.conf for custom module options
    # like so:
    # FILES="/etc/modprobe.d/modprobe.conf"
    FILES=""
    # HOOKS
    # This is the most important setting in this file. The HOOKS control the

    # order in which HOOKS are added. Run 'mkinitcpio -H <hook name>' for

    # 'base' is _required_ unless you know precisely what you are doing.
    # 'udev' is _required_ in order to automatically load modules
    # 'filesystems' is _required_ unless you specify your fs modules in MODULES

    ## This setup specifies all modules in the MODULES setting above.
    ## No raid, lvm2, or encrypted root is needed.
    # HOOKS="base"
    ## This setup will autodetect all modules for your system and should

    # HOOKS="base udev autodetect pata scsi sata filesystems"
    ## This is identical to the above, except the old ide subsystem is
    ## used for IDE devices instead of the new pata subsystem.
    # HOOKS="base udev autodetect ide scsi sata filesystems"
    ## This setup will generate a 'full' image which supports most systems.
    ## No autodetection is done.
    # HOOKS="base udev pata scsi sata usb filesystems"
    ## This setup assembles a pata mdadm array with an encrypted root FS.
    ## Note: See 'mkinitcpio -H mdadm' for more information on raid devices.
    # HOOKS="base udev pata mdadm encrypt filesystems"

  • Hard problem with audio device installing for Lenovo G430 t6600

    Dear all,
as I read about this problem from many messages in this forum, I have the same problem when install audio device for Lenovo G430. I want to write this message and hope that someone can help and show me the detail way to fix this problem and this is also to help others customers of Lenovo.
Sure that I did all the ways that messages in this forum showed to fix:
First, I downloaded hotfix - patch and Conexant Smart audio drive files which suitable with my model-type of laptop (G430, use win XP SP2), these files I downloaded from Lenovo website.
Then I uninstall all audio devices from my Laptop
install Hotfix first, and then, I install Conexant Smart audio
But, in the end I received the message: could not find the media device...blap blap and of course, my laptop keep...have no any sound
If Lenovo G430 support for Win Vistra, why my Laptop had a normal situation (all drives were installed, and the sound was good) when I bought it and the laptop run Win XP SP2. I had this problem when I re-install sound drive from the drive disk the supplier deliver to me, after this, my laptop have no sound any more!!.
So, please, if someone (and maybe the supporter-computer technician from Lenovo) can help me and other customers(who have this problem) to solve and fix  with a detail way, we will say many thanks. This problem made me feel Lenovo is a hard laptop to use.
please contact to me through email: [email protected] Thank you very much

P.S.: The firewire hub was labeled to be OS X compatible ... Is there any specific data available a firewire hub should meet so that there are absolutely no problems in OS X 10.4?
    THX!

  • Too Hard Problem

Actually, there are two problems. They are program problems,
I think, not my. Please look it, maybe you´ll help to find
    some solution.
    First:
    Look
    THIS link. This is
my last project, a web in flash. The problem is in preloader.
Script of preloader is fine. I was testing it by Control>Test
Movie and there View>Simulate Download, and as normal local
opened swf file. Everything is fine, BUT - I exported html from
Flash, edit it (edited script is correct), and open. The preloader
didn´t work! The first (preloading movie) worked correcly, but
in the second (preloading mp3 file), didn´t work function
getBytesTotal(). It´s the same when it is uploaded on FTP.
    Why?
    Second:
    Look at
THIS. As you see in a code,
it´s edited html exported from Flash8, with Active Content
Update. There´s an error saying I didn´t run command
Apply Active Content Update, but I run it !! I didn´t get this
error, when I tested it locally on my computer.
Please try to help me with it, I really don´t know how
it can be solved. I think I tryed everything. Thank you.

first : verry cool site ;-) gj
sorry i can`t help you as I`m quite new to Flash and
    Actionscript 2.0....
Good job with the sites :D

  • HP 25 Calculator - Hard problem related to memory

    Hi All,
I have an old HP 25 calculator, and I tried to revive it after 20 years have stopped.
There is a problem related to memory malfunction that is, the store functions and programe functions don´t work.
Can any one of you help me?
I would like to know if there is available some electrical scheme to understand and analyse what probrably is happening and also if there is some workshop here in São Paulo - Brazil, that could fix these old calculator.
I live in Brazil, in São Paulo city.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
I think you will find the HP Calculator Museum forums a good place to ask:
    http://www.hpmuseum.org/forum/
(ask your question in the General Forum).
I am sure there someone will give you some guidance.
    Best regards.

  • Lacie external hard problem ..

    hi folks ..
by lacie hard drive is working great on my ibook g4 (OS X 10.3.9). But it doesnt mount on my pc. it was formated as Mac OS Extended (journaled).
    1. how do i resolve this issue without having to reformat the drive.
    2. also, i partitioned the drive. is there a way of formating one partition so that be mounted on a pc?
    thank you

    Hi Sophist,
The Mac OS X Extended or HFS+ is only for Macintosh; it is not Windows compatible. You can do what John suggested and make two partitions, or format it in FAT32 (in Disk Utility I believe they call it MSDOS). FAT32 is compatible with both, but HFS+ works smoother with the Mac OS X platform.

  • Switch hard problem

I had a problem with a switch on my network..the problem that is boot normally when i start it, but no switching function, and no ping between client unless the ports work well!!

    Hi
Do revert back the type of switch which you are using and also usually all the equipments takes time for initialization, power on self test, loading the bootstrap process, loading the ios code and the configuration.
once it pass thru all these stages it starts functioning as u desire to do so.
you can very well monitor all these process by getting onto the console port of the switch which will give you a fair idea about how the systems gets onto active mode.
if you face some issues after normal bootup process you can very well check the configuration part if its already done and verify the same for possible causes.
Again if the ports are in shut state u can very well enable them off using no shut command udner the interface config mode..
if possible do post out the startup process and the show run of your switch captured from the console..

  • Msi 6600gt AGP, broken image when starting up!?, driver´s or hard problem...

    hello everybody:
    config: p4 3.0 prescott
              mobo asus p4 800...
              psu topower 400
the thing is that sometimes when starting up windows it givers a broken image, like lot´s of artifacts.
I´m gone try a nv detonator clean up since it´s the second card i´ve tried with this config´s.
    any piece of advice??...

I know your problem. Solution is very easy.
Go to nvidia display options, and under the tab "Digital Flat panel Settings", select Monitor scaling or Aspect Ratio scaling. If you choose "Adapter scaling" then you get that fuzzy screen while bootup.
Also, i think latest bios for NX6600gt agp from msi solved that problem, use Liveupdate utility3 to obtain it.

  • Hard problem. how to track which application a user opens next?

    Hello,
When the user runs my program,
then **with his permission**, I want to be able to track
which application the user has opened.
For example, if he opens resume.rtf in MSWord, then I
should be able to record or store the full path of
MSWord and also the document path (c:\my
    documents\resume.rtf).
Do you know how to do it?
    I would appreciate any help.
    thanks,

Da Wanderer has posted code (in Visual Basic?) to open a folder. He says it is cross platform. I am stumped by the code for Linux. Does anyone know if it will work for Linux. ie. Can I use the same options to open a document in Linux?
I plan to use Runtime.exec similarly in Java, to open a doc.
    if (vars.Contains("GNOME_DESKTOP_SESSION_ID"))
                   processes.Add( new ProcessAndArgs("nautilus", "--nodesktop --browser " + path) );
                   osFound = true;
              else if (vars.Contains("KDEDIR"))
                   processes.Add( new ProcessAndArgs("kfmclient", "exec " + path) );

  • External hard drive, error -36, corrupt files and slow transfer speeds

This is a long post but stay with me.
I've got an external 250GB Lacie drive connected to my 24" Intel iMac via Firewire 800. I have approximately 80GB worth of files (including my iPhoto library) on the Lacie that I'm trying to move over to my iMac but have run into some frustrating problems.
Overall, transfer speeds are erratic – fine at times and SUPER SLOW (5 minutes to transfer a 3MB file) at other times. At first I was transferring entire folders, but after always getting errors (error -36 to be exact), I was having to transfer individual files. This works fine as long as the files aren't too big (which makes the transfer speeds SUPER SLOW) and not corrupt (which gets me an error -36). Is my Lacie crashing on me? Is there any hope?
Here's what I've done to try and salvage my sanity with no resolve to my problems (not exactly in this order):
    1) Ran Disk Utility to repair Lacie. Everything came back OK
    2) Ran Disk Warrior on Lacie. Found a handful of bad items that Disk Warrior was able to repair. Had Disk Warrior replace the old directory of the Lacie with the new directory.
    3) Ran Drive Genius: Raired and Rebuilt the directory, did an Integrity Check (came back OK), attempted to Defrag but could not because of errors to the drive, did a Scan for bad blocks (which after running for 3 days! it was only 20% complete and had found over 150 bad blocks, at which point I quit to try something else)
    4) Checked that my Firewire cable was properly connected and replaced the older one I was using with a brand new one.
    5) Disconnected all peripherals except for keyboard, mouse and Lacie.
    6) And at times, even viewing a file on the Lacie has caused my Finder to crash, requiring a restart of my iMac.
I'm sure I've left something off I've tried but you get the idea.
I've read that maybe I can transfer my files using Terminal. Yes/No? Does this bypass any corruption the files may have?
What about creating a second partition on the Lacie and moving files over to the second partition? Does this solve anything? I don't know anything about partitioning so maybe I'm talking crazy.
I've also read that iPhoto tends to corrupt files which makes me hate iPhoto, and myself for not backing up.
And I've read a lot about error -36's and none of it sounds good so I'm just hoping that someone might have other suggestions for me to try and save my files (especially my iPhoto files which include baby pictures that if I lose, my wife will kill me).
So if anyone has any ideas, let me know. Please. I'll try anything.

    Hi Aaron Thompson-
I am fairly certain you have a bad power supply brick to the LaCie drive. This is a hard problem to troubleshoot as generally when the bricks go bad they do so slowly and the drive appears to power up and stuff but it just doesn't work.
If the drive is under warranty LaCie will replace the brick at no charge. Otherwise they sell them for around $20US on their website.
    Luck-
    -DP
