have you tried it a few times or tried this
How do I format my Nokia device?
You can format your device by typing *#7370# in standby mode. Before the device is reset, you need to provide the lock code. The default lock code is 12345.
IMPORTANT NOTICE!
Formatting the device will permanently erase all user data and settings as well as add-on applications and operator specific settings.
If you have made a backup of the device data, the data can be restored from the backup after formatting but some add-on applications can have restrictions that they are not restored from the backup.
If you use formatting to repair faulty behaviour of the device, restoring the backed-up data files may restore the unwanted behaviour as well. In that case, a partial restore may resolve the situation.
The contents of the SIM card and memory card (MMC) are not erased during formatting. Note, however, that in some device models (e.g. Nokia N8-00) the mass memory is formatted in this situation and it is therefore important that you have backed up all the data from your mass memory (E: mass memory) before resetting the device.
If  i have helped at all a click on the white star below would be nice thanks.

  • Hard reset for macbook pro

How do I do a hard reset for the MacBook pro?

It cannot boot from the disk it tried booting from.
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    5. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)

  • Can someone send me the hard reset for my non black printing HP 5510

Like others my 5510 has stopped printing black. I see a hard reset has worked for some members . Also are the printer heads removable for cleaning on the Photosmart 5510  thanks

Hi @MikesHPname and welcome to the HP Forums!
The hard reset for a Photosmart 5510 is the same as for any printer, simply unplug the power cord from the rear, wait at least 30 seconds (unplug the cord for the wall as well for best results) before plugging the printer back in.
The printhead in the Photosmart 5510 is not removable.
I'd like to see if I can lend a hand here though, have you tried the steps within this Printer Prints a Blank Page or Does Not Print Black or Color Ink document? If not, let me know what country you're in and whether the printer is in or out of warranty and I will certainly do my best to help you get this resolved

  • Soft and hard reset for time machine doesn't seem to work does anyone have suggestions?

I have tried to use a soft reset according to the language on the apple site by using a pin to push the button for a second even up to a minute but it doesn't seem to work.   Does anyone have any suggestions for either a hard or soft reset?  I did get a new  router Netgear wireless extreme thus I'm only using the time capsule portion instead of the wireless router.

Tell us what happens when you press in the reset.. you should feel the switch click.. but don't press too hard or you will break the plastic lever arm.
Connect the TC directly to the Mac by ethernet and open airport utility.
Can it find the TC.. if so you can do a factory reset from the utility instead. If it cannot find it.. try again with the reset.. you need to hold in reset for about 10-15 sec. The front led will begin to flash rapidly. Release it at that point.

  • Is there a hard reset for the IPod

My IPod appears to be in the locked position (but the button is not locked) and it will not turn off.  Is there a way of hard reseting the IPod or what other suggestions are there?

So, what if you IPod classic just says "charging, please wait" and has been for days hooked up to power, usb, everything. I try and do a reset and it just flashes off for a second and goes right back to this screen, no apple logo nothing. This thing has rarely been used so I don't understand what the problem is...

  • Super Hard Reset for a Apple Base Station m5757

Apple AirPort Base Station Model M5757?
E-bay item, something used to be on there. How is it I can do a TOTAL hard reset?
    Any information would rock....

    Maybe not time yet1
Yep, printing via AEBS woes were here too. Used to work fine from the one spot I REGULARLY PRINTED FROM-that formerly worked fine- it was so odd- printing que “took” the file to print but POOF- not stalled in the que nor printed. Did the usual reconfigure EVERYTHING.....
No joy - I checked all over this discussion thread and called Apple( have care plan..)
All I got was it is a grey area, since I have the AEBS set up via a Linksys router network. Of course they recommend I use only an Apple router....
In any case I solved the problem by doing a new AEBS set up, without the Linksys-, ONCE AGAIN FOR THE GAZILLIONTH TIME ADDING THE PRINTER, WHICH IT ALWAYS SAW- then checking all 3 computers on the wifi network- ahha! One did work!
I traced the change in function back to the fact my husband recently replaced the phones in our live-work loft, ( PHONES which we never use- i basically only an answering machine where we can see where the junk callS come from). The new phones ( handsets) apparently were interfering!
Hope that helps problem solve! I am surprised that even tho I was bumped up to a higher level of techsupport- this aspect was not touched upon. LOL- handsets are outside in car! Possibly by changing to a different channel, everything can coexist again!
    Good luck EVERYONE!

  • Hard reset for WRT100

Hi, I've tried everything I read about reseting the WRT100 to its factory default and nothing worked. Does anybody know how to HARD RESET (is there such a thing?) the WRT100?

You need to try again to reset the router to factory defaults.
To reset your router to factory defaults, use the following procedure:
    1) Power down all computers, the router, and the modem, and unplug them from the wall.
    2) Disconnect all wires from the router.
    3) Power up the router and allow it to fully boot (1-2 minutes).
    4) Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds, then release it, then let the router reset and reboot (2-3 minutes).
    5) Power down the router.
    6) Connect one computer by wire to port 1 on the router (NOT to the internet port).
    7) Power up the router and allow it to fully boot (1-2 minutes).
    8) Power up the computer (if the computer has a wireless card, make sure it is off).
    9) Try to ping the router. To do this, click the "Start" button > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt. A black DOS box will appear. Enter the following: "ping 192.168.1.1" (no quotes), and hit the Enter key. You will see 3 or 4 lines that start either with "Reply from ... " or "Request timed out." If you see "Reply from ...", your computer has found your router.
    10) Open your browser and point it to 192.168.1.1. This will take you to your router's login page. Leave the user name blank, and in the password field, enter "admin" (with no quotes). This will take you to your router setup page. Note the version number of your firmware (usually listed near upper right corner of screen). Exit your browser.
If you get this far without problems, try the setup disk (or setup the router manually, if you prefer), and see if you can get your router setup and working.
If you cannot get "Reply from ..." in step 9 above, your router is dead.
If you get a reply in step 9, but cannot complete step 10, then either your router is dead or the firmware is corrupt. In this case, use the Linksys tftp.exe program to try to reload your router with the latest firmware. After reloading the firmware, repeat the above procedure starting with step 1.
If you need additional help, please state your ISP, the make and model of your modem, your router's firmware version, and the results of steps 9 and 10. Also, if you get any error messages, copy them exactly and report back.
Please let me know how things turn out for you.

  • HT1212 hard reset for iphone 5

My iphone 5 was stolen and then cleaned I want to hard reset how do I do a hard reset on a phone that has a lock code when I connect it to itunes it says it has lock code on it

You don't need to do a reset; that won't do any good since a reset is just equivalent to rebooting your computer. What you need to do is to put the iPhone into Recovery Mode and restore it:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808
If that still doesn't work, try DFU mode:

I have a Tungsten E2 that has an inoperable On/Off switch.  I turn it on by pressing one of the front buttons, like the calendar or notes buttons.
I need to perform a hard reset, but the Palm website says I need to hold the On/Off switch while pressing the Reset button in back.  Is there another way to perform a hard reset?

  • Hard Reset for Z22

How do I do a hard reset?  I tried to clean around the screen and it still doesn't respond to the stylus taps.

To perform a Hard Reset: (Palm Knowledgebase article #887)
    http://kb.palm.com/wps/portal/kb/common/article/887_en.html
While pressing and holding the Power button down, tap and release the Reset button in back and continue to hold the Power button down. When the grey Palm logo appears, you can release the Power button.
You should now see the warning page in about 5 languages. Press the UP direction on the 5-way pad to complete the task. Your Palm will reset itself several times as it re-installs the original programs and erases all your previous data.

  • How Can I do a System Reset for my Nokia 3120

Does anyone know how to do a system reset on a regular Nokia 3120?
    Thanks!

Yes. Take it to a Nokia Care Point.
There is no way for the end-user to perform anything other than a "revert to factory default settings" on a S40 phone like the 3120.
