Hard/soft case for the 2nd gen nano?

I'd really like to buy an 8GB 2nd generation Nano, but am having to delay as i can't find a single case for it (ideally one with a belt clip). I don't want to order a case designed for a 1st gen Nano as i'm not sure it would fit due to the slight size difference between 1st gen and 2nd gen Nanos.
Are there any cases currently available that are designed to fit 2nd gen Nanos? If not, does anyone know when some might become available?
Thanks for the help!

Welcome to Apple Discussions!
In the coming weeks, more and more cases will be released for the 2G iPod nano. You can always go to the online Apple Store too and see what they have available at the moment (tell the store to show you cases compatible with 2G nanos).

  • How do I suggest an accessory for the 2nd gen nano?

I'm trying to make a suggestion to Apple to make a belt clip for the 2nd gen nano like the older 40gb iPods had. How do I make one, because I can't find any sort of suggestion box(for lack of better term)

You may be able to use the apple iPod feedback form
to make that type of suggestion. You might also want
to check other sites that make iPod accessories to
see if they have one that you may like.

  • When does the new hard case for the 5th gen Nano come out?

Does anyone know if there is/when there will be the clear plastic hard cases for the 5th generation nano???

You might want to ask this in the 5th gen nano forum.

  • Does the 2nd gen nano skip with VBR mp3s?

    Hi,
I have a 1st gen nano that skips with vbr mp3 podcasts. I would love to get a second gen for more space, but if it skips like the first gen, I will pass.
Can anybody confirm whether or not the problem with VBR mp3s on the 2nd gen nano skips or not?
    thanks

At first I thought there was something wrong with my iPod, but I'm glad to hear this is a common software fault.
I just re-coded my MP3 collection to VBR and find that about 10-20% of my files skipps on my iPod nano (2nd gen). I might up the quality of the VBR and seee if that makes any difference.

  • Is there any type of HiFi Station available for the 2nd Gen. iPod shuffle?

I was wondering if there is any type of HiFi Station available for the 2nd Gen. iPod shuffle.
With HiFi Station I mean those docking stations which directly play the music from your iPod, so that you don´t need to connect to your Computer f.e.
Does anybody know if something like this exist, or if it is only available for ALL other iPod models???
    Thanks already!
    Stefan

YOu can use one of these with any other iPod "HiFi Station": http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/dockshuffle/
Use your 2nd generation iPod shuffle in full-size Universal Dock devices.
Your iPod shuffle is an incredible entertainment value in an incredibly small package. It delivers the music just like its full-size iPod cousins. But one thing it doesn't do is fit in the dock well in your made-for-iPod speaker system.
That's why we made a Dock Adapter especially for 2nd generation iPod shuffle. The Dock Adapter is shaped just like the dock connector on the bottom of every full-size iPod. Plug it into your iPod shuffle's headphone jack, and suddenly the little guy fits in your iPod speakers just like the big guys.
Take Griffin Dock Adapter with you, and you can play your iPod shuffle wherever there's a set of Universal Dock speakers.

  • My pc does not meet the minimum operating system requirements for the 6th gen nano. Is there anything I can do to make it work?  This was sent to me from Apple after my previous Nano was recalled.

My pc does not meet the minimum operating system requirements for the 6th gen nano. Is there anything I can do to make it work on windows XP?  This was sent to me from Apple after my previous Nano was recalled.

I think you've anwsered your own question. If it does'nt meet the minimum spec it won't work.

  • I need help from all of the 2nd gen nano customers!!! Buzzing Sound!!

Hi! I am about to purchase a 2nd generation 8GB iPod nano next week or so. Is the whining problem still the issue in the 2nd gen nanos? Please tell me because otherwise, I might want to delay the order cause I wouldn't want a buzzing/whining iPod.

Some units have it, some don't. I have 3 in my household and none of them buzz (unless you cound the very fain sound you hear only if you press it up against your ear....and you wouldn't do that under normal circumstances). If you are going to a physical store to purchase one, turn it on in the store before you leave so you can find out right then if there is a noticable buzz.

  • I'm looking for a good case for the 7th gen iPod classic. Not some silicon skin but a good case.  Help?

I really do want a new case for my 7th gen iPod classic. It seems there's barely anything on the market anymore except skins.  I don't want a skin. Anything still out there? Searching the web is depressing me.

I bought this hard case for my iPod. I like it but you are right, there isn't a lot of choice out there!

  • Will apple release an update for the 7th gen nano to have cover flow?

  • What Hard Suit / Case for the MBP17 Unibody?

    Hi all,
just got the new MBP17 unibody
Now I'm looking for a suitable Hard Suit / Case for it.
I like the Crumpler Hardsuit that is available, but I do not know whether the NEW MBP will fit in a case designed for the previous model. Especially since the mesurements have changed slightly. Any ideas?
    Thanks

I would really recommend only one, for good reason- I've hauled 5 different models of 17" Powerbooks and Macbook Pros around in a Zero Halliburton 4" Computer Case. I've had the case for 5 years of heavy usage, and the case has about 1,000,000 miles on it (and looks it!). But- the foam cutout on the interior is built for the profile of the 17" (my 17" unibody is on order, but I've measured and in spite of the larger footprint than previous 17" MBPs, it should fit fine), and my Laptops have always been in good hands within the confines of the case.
Two things have broke on the case (in addition to various dents and scratches, which give it "character")- the hinge pin is starting to come out- it came out about 2" about 2 years ago, the good news is it hasn't moved out any further. If I wasn't lazy I'd pound it back in.
The second issue is the arm that holds each side of the case together has broke- this is actually a blessing, because now I can fold the case flat and don't have to remove it when going through airport security in the USA. Saves many cringe-worthy moments that I have as i watch my laptop shuffle around in a plastic bin.
It's a timeless, always-in-style (or decidedly retro) look. IMHO, it makes Tumi or Brenthaven look like a joke. I am in technical sales and, as much as we'd like to think that image means nothing, walking in with the ZH, and then taking out whatever late-model MBP I happen to have makes a professional, serious statement about yourself and the product you are representing.
(Here's hoping that my new Unibody and On-Order Gonna-Be-Hackintoshed Dell Mini 9 will both fit into the case).

  • Can there be an update for the 6TH Gen nano to have a calculator?

I think it would be really useful if there was a calculator on the 6th gen nano.

You aren' speaking to Apple here.  If you would like to leave a suggestion for them, use the form via the page below.

  • How about a hard-shell case for the Zen Mic

I recently bought my Zen Micro and the one accessory that I still need to pick up for it is a case. Now I know there is a pouch for it, but what I really want is a something more protecti've to put up with the rigors of travelling.
I see they have the leather case which covers the entire unit and looks to currently be the best bet to offer some overall protection of the unit. But what I can't seem to find (either through Creative or a third party) is a hard-shell case. I'd love to have a good, solid clamshell-type of case (either hard plastic, or even metal) like you can get for PDAs. I've got a metal case for my Palm and I'm sure its been that device's best friend in terms of protection from all of the bumps and bruises of travel.
So if anyone fm Creative is peeking in here - that's my big suggestion for you all.
An if anyone knows if such a case does exist, please feel free to post back.

Gee I never would have thought about using a search function to do a search ;>
Yeah I saw this a few days ago - thank you - but its not quite what I'm looking for. If I wasn't clear, I am looking for a hardshell case that completely closes up the unit. This one is cut open on the front for access to the buttons. I was looking for one similar to the leather case where the entire unit is fully enclosed, basically with the only opening being for the headphones.
I do like the earbuds offered on this website - the ones with the little lapel clip spool.

  • Suggested sound dock for the 4th gen nano

Hi, I'm getting my son a new nano for Christmas, and wanted to get a sound dock to go with it.The nano is the 4th gen unit.
Q: Which sound docks work with the 4gen and will charge it
My price range is up to $100
The Klipsch units get good reviews but it's unclear to me if they support this unit or will charge it while docked.
    Many thanks

The Altec Lansing iM310 speakers work with the nano 4th gen (both charge and play). These speakers are carried by both Best Buy and Circuit City. The specs that show up on a lot of the online descriptions don't say it's compatible with the 4th gen, but if you go directly to Altec Lansing's website, it clearly states it is.
    About $80 everywhere.

  • Link to the 2nd Gen Nano Update?

Hello. I'm a new user to these forums, and a proud owner of the new 2nd Gen 2 GB iPod Nano since the day it shipped. Well, come time to update my new iPod, iTunes tells me it cannot connect to the internet. It doesn't even look. I click "Update" and instantly, it say iTunes cannot connect to the internet. But I am connected, or else I couldn't be posting this right now. :P My question is this: Is there a place on Apple's website that I can manually download the iPod Nano upgrade, instead of doing it in iTunes? And if so, where? I'm running Windows XP, if you need to know. Thank you.
    Windows XP Windows XP

I think that even if you do it from the website it will open up your itunes. You can try that and see if it works though.
