Hard to understand 'header mapping' and 'principal propagation'  in soap

when i use soap adapter i meet two interesting field, 'header mapping' and 'principal propagation '
so does any one of you may tell me
what does it mean by header mapping in receiver agreement?
what does it mean by principal propagation properies in sender agreement ?
Thanks a lot!!!

Hi,
Please, familiarize yourself with this doc: [How To … Use the J2EE SOAP Adapter|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/40611dd6-e66e-2910-f383-e80fb44f9cd4]. Especially, the chapter 4.4.

  • SSO and Principal Propagation in SUP

    Hi all,
I am wondering how SSO and Principal Propagation work in SUP.
Ideally, users should be able to logon on their device application and the same user/pwd should be used to perform backend SAP invocations.
I have seen that personalization keys exists which can store users/passwords to use later in backend invocations.
    However:
how can I perform login if my device is offline?
is the password used for login from device the same as the SAP system's?
do SUP and SAP have to share the same user engine (i.e. LDAP)?
Any help or pointers to best practices/manuals are really appreciated
    Thanks, regards
    Vincenzo

    Hi
how can I perform login if my device is offline?
Once the device logs into the SUP once every-time thereafter the client app doesn't perform an online authentication.
The credentials are stored on the device securely and authenticated with the user supplied credentials. When the device is online it will perform the online authentication.
is the password used for login from device the same as the SAP system's?
You can have the same credentials on both the systems. The SAP connectivity credentials are however stored in SUP.
do SUP and SAP have to share the same user engine (i.e. LDAP)?
Yes currently SUP for development purposes has the openDS ldap service. but in  production we can use the LDAP provider of your company.
    Thanks

  • Principal Propagation with SOAP sender

    Hello
I've already read some blogs and SAP help about configuring the principal propagation (PP), those blogs explains details about the configuration with SAP (ABAP and Java) system.
However in my case I have the third party SOAP sender application. I jsut wonder how to configure or write the soap Java program. Basically 2 things need to be done for hte soap sender:
    1) Force the soap sender to send message along with a SAP assertion ticket
    2) Sign the assertion ticket with private key (Public key/certification will be installed in PI Java AE)
I have no idea how step 1 works (Take Java soap client program as example)
Once a private key / public key is generated, how to use it to sign the assertion ticket?
Basically our soap sender could be from any platform (.net, java program, oracle, etc.), I need to know how to configure the soap sender for PP generally.
Anybody configured PP for soap sender?
    Thank you so much

  • Help please! - Hard disk Volume Header problems and 'Beach Ball' hangs

    Hi all
I was wondering if anyone can help me out with my hard drive problems. Until recently, everything was going fine with my Powerbook after upgrading to 10.4.2. Then all of a sudden, one day, at the login screen I got a beach ball hang which lasted around 4 minutes. When the dock is launched, I get another beach ball hang for an additional 3 or 4 minutes.
When it finally finishes logging in everything is fine, I can access all my files and do whatever I want to do at full speed, that is, until an app asks me for my administrators password which welcomes back the beach ball and a system hang for another 3-4 minutes or so.
Disk Utility says that I have minor Volume header problems but will not fix it as it abruptly quits before it finishes diagnosing the drive.
I have Disk Warrior 3.0.3 and have tried to use it but when I boot off the CD it does not recognise my hard drive for fixing puroposes but still displays the hard drive in the Hardware tab.
The SMART status of the drive is verified and there doesnt seem to be any problems in that respect.
I have repaired permissions, ran all the processes in Onyx and still no joy.
Finally, I have tried to use TechTool Pro but on a surface disk check it fails halfway through after shifting a few bad sectors around.
Everything seems to be fine if you ignore all these beach ball hangs but I'm worried about a very imminent hard drive fail. I am now in the process of zeroing all the empty spaces on my hard disk to see if the badsector problems can be fixed in this way.
When the beach ball appears I can hear the hard disk making a scraping sound if this helps at all.
Please help me! Its driving me nuts! I am also currently working abroad hence I don't have my Mac OS X Tiger install disks on me otherwise I'd just do an archive and reinstall.
Is this a physical problem? Volume header problem? I'm so confused!
Any help greatly appreciated! Many thanks...

It sounds as if you've attempted the appropriate fixes for your drive... Disk Utility, Disk Warrior, TechTool Pro and Onyx. If none of these utilities have repaired the problem then perhaps there is a hardware failure of some sort... perhaps a head crash has done some physical damage.
How old is this hard drive? Is it the original?
It's unfortunate that you don't have your Tiger install discs as a reinstall of the OS might relieve the problem. But I doubt it since, as you say, "the disc makes a scraping sound". That suggests to me the problem may be physical damage or wear of the hard drive.
If I were in your shoes, I would backup any critical files now, before the drive fails completely.
I'd replace the drive, and probably buy an external enclosure (USB or Firewire) for the old drive to allow for data retrieval until it failed.
Unfortunately, replacing the drive will require your software install discs... =( ... can't help you there.

  • Value Mapping  and Lookups

    Hi all,
I know something about Value Mapping.
And I heard that the Lookups (DB and RFC) are types of Value Mapping.
I am confused how value mapping is related to lookups.
Request you all to provide me some information regd.this.
    Thank you.
    Regards
    Krishna.

    Hi,
All the links above are quite useful in understanding Value Mapping and RFC lookups.
Both solutions could be used for getting values from R3 tables at runtime. However, there's difference in way both operate.
RFC lookup is performed at runtime, since it is executed from the UDF in message mapping. Thus at runtime, call is made to R3 table and value is fetched.
In value mapping replication, Value Mapping program is run from SAP R3 and values from table are updated in XI Runtime Cache. Thus at runtime, while performing message mapping, call to R3 system is not made. Values are available in XI cache.
Thus, it is quite obvious that Value Mapping is more performace efficient since it doesn't make a call to SAP R3 system for each incoming message. If the table data does not change very frequently(since for every change value mapping scenario has to be run for update of XI cache), and it is not very large, then it is a good option as compared to RFC lookup.
However, in cases where either data is frequently changing in table or the volume of data is too large, RFC lookup should be prefered choice.
    Hope it would be helpful.
    Thanks,
    Bhavish

  • Principal Propagation Using Sender SOAP adapter in PI7.1

    Hi,
I am trying to configure principal propagation using SOAP sender adapter. In that, I am trying to generate the assertion ticket in SAP only but it is using PIAFUSER as the user that is being passed and not the user which we are using to logon.
Please tell me how an assertion ticket can be generated in this case , and the User that is being used for logging on is propagated. Is there any other way in which SOAP adapter can be used to propagate principally.

Not only did the computer erase my music i had no idea how to get it back I contacted Apple on the phone but the name was american and i found it really hard to understand him. How do i get it back! i bought most of my music on itunes but i just dont have any idea where to go and whjat to do can any help me??
    Respond please!

Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then see if you can redownload your past music purchases (those that are still in the store) via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes : re-downloading.
If you are not in a country where music can currently be re-downloaded, then have you not got it on your computer and/or on a backup ? If not then you can try contacting iTunes support and see if they will grant you a re-download : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page

  • Difference in idoc adapter header mapping between SP14 and SP19

    Hi All,
    i have a very strange problem.......i have 2 XI systems : XI-sandbox and XI-dev.....
    XI-sandbox is on XI3.0 SP19 whereas XI-dev is on XI3.0 SP14...........
I have a file->XI->idoc scenario which is same on both XI-sandbox and XI-dev....
in receiver idoc adapter, i am using header mapping for sender service and in the sender service i am using XPATH of a field of control rec of idoc.........
this scenario works fine on XI-sandbox which is on SP19 and the idocs are sent to SAP R/3 sandbox...........but this scenario on XI-dev gives error in SXMB_MONI in XI-dev of Call adapter - "No party conversion found".........
So my question is that is there any difference in idoc adapter header mapping between SP14 and SP19.........
    Thanks,

    ><i>so i cant use apply control rec values from payload.........</i>
    rajeev,
I know this has nothing to do with the original problem but please do bear.
If I undertood you posts correct, the Sender Partner Name is set in the Idoc Control record in the field SNDPRN in the mapping using some mapping logic.
Now, this is the partner name with which the idoc is to be posted to thge R3 system.
if yes, then like I have pointed above, using "Take Sender From Payload" in the Receivcer Idoc Adapter is a better option as pointed in the SAP help as well.
As you are already populating the idoc control ecord with SNDPRN just make the SNDPRT as LS and then select "Take Sender from Payload" in the receiver Idoc adapter and the Sender Partner Name will not be taken from SDNPRN just as you want.
This is different from "Apply Control Records From Payload" .

  • Fixed width file outgoing with header, detail and trailer in one map

we have a scenario where in we have to create an output file. the file is fixed width with three different kinds of records namely header, details and trailer. if the specification of the metadata of the file is specified how will we incorporate the creation of the file in one map since the map produces only one call to UTL_FILE and writes it.
there is a work around in a crude way where in we can define the file as a CSV and pass everything in an appanded string in one column. but i wanted to know how we can get the three logical records in one map..
    thanks
    kamal

The problem is not with generating the records.. i mean header , detail and trailer.
it is how we put them into a fixed width sampled file. if we look at the code generated we will see only one call being made to generate the file.

  • IDOC Acknowledgement and Header Mapping

    Dear all,
    I've got the following scenario:
SAP 4.6C is sending many different IDOCs to XI 3.0 (SP14).
On XI side there are several integration processes, business systems and business services receiving the IDOCs.
I want to create IDOC acknowledgements and send them back to SAP system.
For one integration process I was able to successfully create and send back an acknowledgement by following the steps described in the very good blog:
    /people/saravanakumar.kuppusamy2/blog/2005/01/20/configuration-tips-for-a-business-serviceintegration-process-to-send-back-ale-audit-idoc
Now I want that every integration process/business system/business service is sending back an acknowledgement with the <b>same</b> logical system name (meaning "this acknowledgement is coming from XI").
As it is not possible to enter the same logical system name for more than one process I created a receiver agreement with:
Sender Service = the integration process
Receiver Service = the SAP 4.6C business system
    Receiver Interface = ALEAUD.ALEAUD01
Receiver Communication Channel = IDOC receiver channel called "Ack_IDOC_Receiver", existing in SAP 4.6C business system and pointing to this system
Additionally I created a header mapping in this receiver agreement where I set the Sender Service to the business system of the XI system.
Unfortunately the tests showed to me that obviously the header mapping (maybe even the whole receiver agreement) is being ignored completely as no Acknowledgement IDOC will be created. Instead I get the error message "Unable to convert sender service to an ALE logical system".
I also played around a bit with the options "Apply Control Record Values from Payload" and "Pass Sender value from Payload" but this didn't make any difference.
Why is the header mapping not replacing the sender service in the acknowledgement message?
    Best regards,
    Tobias

    Tobias,
    we have the same Problem.
we´re sending with Receiving Partner "12345" and the IDoc in the target System is filled with the standard SAP Value maybe the one configured in the SDL.
We have configured our IDOC_REceiver with a mark on "Apply Control Record Value from payload".
If you have a look at the SAP Helpfile you will find out that some header fields are not be changeable and get the value from sap.
like IDOC-Number, Receiving Partner and maybe the sender service ???
    Regards,
    Gordon

  • Principal Propagation / SAP Assertion Ticket

    Hi Experts,
    i m planning a synchronous scenario
3rd party (SOAP) -> PI -> SAP ECC (RFC)
PI is on 7.1, ECC on 7.00
I would like to run Principal Propagation. At the moment i m struggling with Assertion Ticket to be issued by the SOAP sender. From [SAP Help: Princ Prop / Configuring the Sender|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/EN/45/3418a0eabe072fe10000000a155369/content.htm]: "The SOAP client itself must be able to issue SAP assertion tickets."
    - Does that mean: if the sender is a non SAP system Principle Propagation cannot be implemented?
    - Or is there a way to issue the SAP assertion ticket from 3rd party SOAP sender?
    - If yes, how does that work?
    I found two interesting threads:
[Principal Propagation SOAP - XI - RFC Scenario   |Re: Principal Propagation SOAP - XI - RFC Scenario]:
I do not understand Swarups answer 100%. He wrote: "Here you need not have to do anything on SOAP sender side to create the assertion ticket. The assertion ticket is required on SAP side which will act as Web AS ABAP Server"
Can anybody illuminate that? Is he right?
[Issuing SAP assertion Tickets |Issuing SAP assertion Tickets]: The last post of Anthony stayed unansered, unfortunately. "How does the sender system do that? Is it somethign embedded in the header of the SOAP message? This really is unclear to me"
    Thanks for your help,
    Udo

    Hi Udo,
    > - Does that mean: if the sender is a non SAP system Principle Propagation cannot be implemented?
Principle propagation supports XI, SOAP and RFC adapters.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/45/0f16bef65c7249e10000000a155369/frameset.htm
Before using the principle propagation you have to active the configuration, but you can only activate the configuration if you have kernel patch 149 installed.

  • Tile-based map and A-star help?

I am working on a tower defense type game. A while ago I posted asking about maze logic and was kindly directed towards A-star pathfinding. It is perfect. I understand the concept and it makes sense. Now the problem I am having is how to do the tile-based map? I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around it. I just want to do a straight square map comprised of squares. I realize a 2D Array would probably be the best way just such as:
    int[][] map = new int[100][100]
where there would be 100 x 100 tiles. I can then populate the array with numbers ie 0 = walkable, 1 = unwalkable. I can have my A* algorithm return the set of tiles to move to.
My problem is that I don't want my game to be in pixels and I'm having a hard time understanding how to make the game appear tile based and large enough to be playable? ie. 1 tile = 30x30 pixels. If we are looking at it in terms of model and view, I understand the model part, but I am having a hard time translating to the view? How do I create a tile based view so that the user can only place towers on a tile(the mouse click location could be any point inside the tile)? Also, how would I keep the enemy units moving smoothly between tiles and not just jumping to the center of each tile?
I got some great advice last time and any more advice or points in a good direction would be greatly appreciated.

The reason to distribute your maze into nodes (tiles) is that pathfinding is slow, so you want to eliminate any notion of screen dimensions (pixels, inches, etc.) from A*. For all purposes, your maze is 100x100 pixels; any given object can choose between 100 horizontal and 100 vertical values.
how would I keep the enemy units moving smoothly between tiles and not just jumping to the center of each tile?Although your units may only have 100x100 nodes to consider, you can still animate them walking between each adjacent node on the path. Remember that the pathfinding (per tier) will occur before anything actually moves.
Still, this could look funny with only 100 nodes per axis. Units should use the shortest path that’s visible to them, and turning several degrees at each node will look choppy. So. I list three potential solutions here:
&bull; Increase the number of nodes (the “accuracy”). Speed may be an issue.
&bull; Use path smoothing algorithm. I haven’t seen your circumstance, but I would generally recommend this.
&bull; Use multi-tiered/hierarchical pathfinding. This is probably more complex to implement.
Note that although the second and third options are distinct, they may coincide (some smoothing algorithms use multiple tiers). Googling for ‘pathfinding smoothing’ returned many results; this one in particular looked useful: [Toward More Realistic Pathfinding|http://www.gamasutra.com/features/20010314/pinter_01.htm]
How do I create a tile based view so that the user can only place towers on a tile(the mouse click location could be any point inside the tile)? If objects can be placed at arbitrary points, then A* needs to deem nodes impassable (your array’s 1) based on the objects placed in them. You have to be careful here and decide whether entire nodes should be ignored based on tower’s partial presence; for instance:
    |====|====|====|====|====|
    |====|====|====|===+|+++=|
    |====|====|====|===+|+++=|
    |====|====|====|====|====|
    |0~0=|====|====|====|====|pixels: = ; node dividers: | (and line breaks for vertical) ; tower: +
The tower only covers ¼ of the node at (3, 3); should you eliminate it? Five solutions are obvious:
    • Ignore any node with any chunk of a tower in it.
    • Ignore any node entirely covered by a tower.
    • Ignore any node whose center is covered by a tower. This won’t work with multi-tiered pathfinding.
    • Ignore any node that has a tower covering any point the units are required to pass through. This will work with multi-tiered pathfinding.
    • Using multi-tiered pathfinding, consider only consider the sub-nodes that aren’t covered by a tower.
I realize a 2D Array would probably be the best way just such as
    int[][] map = new int[100][100]
For starters, if only want two values—passable and impassible—then a boolean would be better. But I would recommend against this. I’d bet you could write some OO code specific to your situation. You might want to use terrain costs, where nodes exist that A* would prefer over others.
I hope I answered some of your questions. Let me know if you have more—or if I didn’t.
    Good luck.
