  • EWA Reporting Incorrectly

    Hi,
In Solution Manager 4.0 SPS12 we have EWA setup which has been providing us with reports for some time now. Even though we have now installed the latest patch kernel and we have also a new version of SAPOSCOL the EWA still fails telling us our kernel is not up to date.
    Examples from Report:
    7 SAP Kernel Release
Your SAP kernel release (Release 700, patch level) is not up to date.
As a result, you do not have the latest kernel patch level with the error corrections and improvements that SAP offers to its customers.
    10 SAP OS Collector
SAPOSCOL data is insufficient to perform the hardware capacity checks in the SAP standard services. Check whether SAPOSCOL is active and stores data correctly (see SAP Note 189072).
    Current SAPOSCOL Version
    20.95
    Min. Recommended SAPOSCOL Version
    20.93
We are running kernel patch level 133 and as you can see above it is almost like it can't read the patch level correctly. Same with saposcol.
Any suggestions on how to get EWA to correctly see or report on this data ?
    Many thanks.

  • Cannot load EWA report

    Dear All,
i have configure for EWA report but the report still not give reported for each satellite system in Solman. one week ago we receive msg from SAP that give us Red Alert for our Production systems, this mean that solution manager for EWA is working. but the problem is the report cannot load the EWA report for every systems in Solman. anyone can help me please...
    Thanks

make sure you configured your satellite system properly in SMSY and the RFC are working, also the BACK RFC from satellite system to SolMan.
Goto SDCCN in your satellite system and make sure that a EarlyWatch is scheduled which sends data to your SolMan SID (not OSS!!). This can only be achieved by having a "Request Session Data" Report which has a 10* session and not a Z* session.
If this is not the case :
    1) delete your EarlyWatch Schedule in Satellite system via SDCCN
    2) unschedule your task processer
    3) make sure the installation number in SMSY (SolMan) is correct - same like in satellite system
    4) recreate via "Maintain service definitions" your SDCC_OSS connection
    5) reschedule the task processer job.
    6) recreate a new EarlyWatch Alert for Solution Manager which sends data to your SolMan.
If you have defined your SolMan as the Master for SDCCN (done via SMSY / Menue: Environment / Solution Manager Operation /  Administer SDCCN) you just have to schedule "EarlyWatch" instead of 6., this should automatically generate "EarlyWatch Alert for Solution Manager "

  • Monthly EWA Report.

    Hi SolMan Mentors,
Currently we are using SolMan7.0 SPS15. I would like to know whether we can reschedule the EWA report occurrence monthly rather than weekly(default).
When I check DSWP --> Settings --> Solution Monitoring --> EarlyWatch Alert --> the period column is disabled for changes. Is there somewhere we can make changes to get EWA report monthly rather than weekly?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Hari

The frequency and reported time frame of the EarlyWatch Alert itself
can not be changed. In SAP Solution Manager however you have the
option to create a 'Service Level Report'.
The Service Level report uses the data from the individual EWA sessions
that have been executed for the satellite(s) and combines them into
    one report.
This can be customized. You need to enter the solution -> Operations
Setup -> Solution Monitoring -> Service Level Reporting ->
Setup Service Level Reporting. Following this path you will enter the
'Set up session' where you can set your customizing via the various
checks in the check tree. Check 'Specify SL Reporting' is where you
can choose if you wish to set up a a 'standard' report or 'some other
name'. The 'standard' report has a weekly frequency.
To be able to choose a different frequency enter a self-chosen
different name to indicate a 'non-standard' report. Save.
In the next check "General Settings for SL Report Standard" in tab
'scheduling of SL report' you can
customize the frequency of this report.
Note that if you choose 'monthly', the SL Report can not be created
until the last EWA covering the last day of the previous month
has run. For example: the EWA covers the ST03 data of the calendar week
prior to the data collection. Ie data for 'Monday June 30 2008'
    can at the earliest
be contained in the EWA data collection executed Monday July 07 20087.
So the SLR for June 08 can at the earliest be executed when that last
EWA data collection has been processed ( normally on Tuesday morning via
the next job SM:EXEC SERVICES. )
The checks in the session have text explaining further customizing
options. You can also find documentation in the online help and
the IMG , under 'Solution Monitoring'.

  • Getting the old EWA reports

    Dear Forum,
I had a problem with the EWA reports on our Solman from the satellite systems. It got a syntax error, since solman tried to execute the session that was obsolette. Then I got a solution by refreshing service definision as in the note 727998. For the first trials I did it on one of the satellite systems and the solman. It worked and I was able to get the old EWA that failed before.
Now there are still some old EWA on the satellite systems that were not sent to solman, yet. I have tried to send them by executing send session data in SDCCN, but nothing came to solman. It is a solman 3.2. The weekly EWA works fine, the sessions are ready on the satellite systems.
So, my question is how to get the old EWA reports that generated by the old session?

    Hello Agoes,
Move your mouse pointer to the grey diamond icon and there will be a
    popup of the session no.
Copy it down and goto txn DSA -> Selected Session -> put in the session
    no. -> enter
Double click on the session number and on the left panel, right click
on the "EarlyWatch Alert" -> Session Components -> Reset.
Then double click on "EarlyWatch Alert" -> EN language
Then the system to try to regenerate the report again.
If this still comes out with the Grey Diamond status, please kindly
revert this message back to me and I will have my SV-SMG-SDD colleague
    to look into it.

  • EWA reports generating Twice

    Hi,
In my solution manager EWA reporting generating twice for all systems ( 3 times for few systems) and also scheduled twice (3 times for few system ) for next week.
Request you to help me on this issue.
Thanks for you valuable help and support
    Thanks & Regards
    Reddy

    Hello,
There should be two periodic tasks scheduled in SDCCN on managed ABAP systems.
Service Preparation and Maintenance Package Task. That is all that should be scheduled.
If you see any "refresh session" or "Earlywatch Alert for Solution Manager" sessiosn scheduled as a periodic tasks, they should be removed from the todo tab, as you can get an EWA for each one.
Most often duplicate EWA reports are caused by misconfiguration ij SDCCN on DSWP where indeed more than one EWA is being created due to the setup.
I would best guess you have incorrect SDCCN tasks scheduled as periodic tasks, when they should be driven by the Maintenance Package task as designed.
Check the periodic tasks in SDCN....typically you only should have  the Service Preparation and Maintenance Package.
No other tasks should be scheduled as periodic tasks. While thre are other SDCCN tasks that get run when you deliver a service or perform certain analysis, they are not periodic tasks. I
The other exceptions is when the EWA is being processed at SAP and not on Solution Manager, then there would be an EWA tasks sheduled as a periodic task with the RFC destination SDCC_OSS (SAP)

  • EWA Reporting for NONSAP Systems

    Hi all,
we need an EWA reporting for NONSAP systems. Is it possible to generate EWA Reports containing OS information (like CPU Utilization, Memory consumption, Filesystems ...) from the monitored systems.
If possible , are there any "How to guides" for implementing the NONSAP system in SMSY.
Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hello,
I would refere you to SAP Note 1257308 - FAQ: Using EarlyWatch Alerts
If you look at section 1. Products and components for whcih teh EarlyWatch Alert is Available, the answer to your question is there, and states the products under section 1.1 and the components under section 1.2.
This should clarify the answer for you.

  • EWA Report not being sent for two systems

    Hi Experts,
We are having one issue in EWA Report in solution manager. Searched hard but could not find solution.
Our solution manager is configured to provide EWA for 4 systems- ECC, BW, PI and Solution manager itself.
The configurations are in place to the extend that we are able to view the weekly reports in Solution manager.
    Issue is -
    1. We are able to recieve mail notification for Solution Manager and ECC but not able to get for BW and PI.
    2. The ECC report is coming ok, but Solution manager report is blank.
The places I checked the configuration -
    1. SDCCN for all systems.
    2. SOLMAN_EWA_ADMIN - all systems active and chcked for EWA
    3. Background Jobs for all systems -Maintenance Package, Refresh Session, Earlywatch Alert for Solution Manager
    4. Background Jobs related to the task including SM:EXEC SERVICES
Later on I deleted and rescheduled the job SM:EXEC SERVICES to make sure it covers all systems.
Data is visible in Solution Manager but report is not being sent over mail for two systems- BW and PI.
Solution manager report is being sent but empty.
    Please suggest.

  • EWA report from SOLMAN not generating properly.

    Hi expert,
EWA report from SOLMAN not generating properly. It's generating like Rating not Determined (Gray) - SAP EarlyWatch Alert.

  • EWA report did not go to SAP!!

    Hi Exprts,
my EWA report did not go to SAP this time.. It has been going before.. is there any reason? Can someone please help?
    Thanks,
I will post points for sure!!

    Hi Afi,
the EWA report is scheduled every week in the SAP Solution Manager system for the satellite system.
As described above it's forward to SAP after first execution
    - every 4 weeks
    - in case of a red rating of the overall session.
Sessions forwarded to SAP are indicated by a small "SAP" icon right at the session link (tx DSMOP, Operations: Solution Monitoring -> EarlyWatch Alert).
    Do you refer
    - to EWAs scheduled via SolMan or
    - to EWA scheduled as a session directly in SDCCN (session number contains a Z)
These session data (also know as download data) is sent to SAP and you are able
to access the generated MS Word (XML) report in SAP Support Portal.
I am not aware of other functionalities (and I am quite familar with this topic).
Sessions with GREEN, YELLOW are not sent in SAP Solution Manager to SAP every week. I have never seen this and it was not developed.
Could you explain in more detail
    - how did identy forwarded sessions in the past
    - what's wrong now, how do you see this.
    - What's your current Support Package level

  • Warning about the parallel_max_servers parameter in ewa reports

    Hi gurus,
We produce ewa reports using our solution manager system. The health and performance of the systems are evaluated using these reports.
For all our sap systems, although the database parameter settings are configured correctly according to the oss note 830576, in the section 9.2, it gives warning for the parameter parallel_max_servers. We are almost sure that the value of the parameter parallel_max_servers is also set correctly. Whatever we did, we couldn't set it green.
Is there a way to turn it green, or as the sentence says in the report "If it is configured correctly, then ignore the yellow rating for this parameter." means that there is no way, although  the parameter is set correctly, it will stay in yellow?
    Best Regards,
    Tolga

    Hi,
The optimal value for PARALLEL_MAX_SERVERS depends on the CPU cores in the database server available for database ( total CPU cores on database  server minus CPU requirements of other applications including SAP central instance). As the CPU requirements for all applications other
than database cannot be determined automatically by the EarlyWatch Alert  tool, it doesnt have a reference value to compare the current setting and comment on it. The optimal setting has to be determined manually. If  the PARALLEL_MAX_SERVERS is set correctly then please ignore the
alert generated in the EarlyWatch Alert report
Just because the rating is yellow in the report doesnt mean that the setting is incorrect. The report just tries to alert you that the optimal setting for this parameter could not be determined and asks
you to ensure it is set optimally.
    Cheers!

  • View EWA reports

    Hi!
I have succesfully installed and confugured my Solution Manager and have connected  3 business systems.
I have configured OSS-connection, SCCN, EWA.
Now I am about to view EWA, but I do not see any files or glasses sign i n Tcode DSWP.
My quetion is: <b>how can I read/view the EWA as .HTML or MS-Office document?
Is there some configuration steps to do this?</b>
    Thank you very much
    regards

I understand that you are askin abt generating EWA reports as word document..
If this is the case,pl go thru the following steps.....
DSWP>Solution Monitorinig>EarlyWatch Alert-->select the system for which the data is available(click on the word document, which is just next to the specks symbol)
before generating the word document, U need to make some adjustments in the MS-Word settings..Open ms-word document, goto TOOLS>MACRO>SECURITY>TRUSTED PUBLISHERS,select the two options(trust all.....& trust access to VB..)>OK
Then click the MS_Word symbol(of corresponding system) in Solution manager.
It will prompt you to mention the report type...EWA Report/EWA with Grapics...select any one of thm.
    save it to desired location.
I hope this is what you are asking abt....

  • EWA report highlights some Transcations by workload and DB load

    Hi All,
I have a SAP system with 5 App servers
I have a EWA report which highlights some Transactions by workload and DB load :
    By workload: MMBE, MB51, ME53N, MB11, ME21N
    By DB load : MB51, MMBE, ZINF, MB11, RSM13000, Y_STS_71000018
I have analysed the transactions from ST03 . How otherwise also should i be analysing to get to know where the bottlenecks are. As per my analysis i can get hold of some tables which i may do rebuliding of indexes. Also what other approch should i take.
How helpful is ST12 and ST05 and is there any impact to use them for analyis , i mean if i start some traces on will it start filling my os level file systems .
Please let me know if there is some more better approach if i can take.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ashish

    Hi,
i think the EWA always alerts the 5 Transactions with the highest times.
But this must not mean, that there is an problem.
The difference is, the EWA reads the overall time a transaction used in you system.
If the TA was called 1.000.000 times with an average runtime of 200ms, the Transaction maybe on
first place in your EWA because it used a lot of time, but you do not have an problem.
Look at the responsetimes for dialogtransactions.
    Kind regards
    Manuel
