  • Macbook Pro shutting down. Hardware error code 4MEM/62/40000000:0x7f537f90

Macbook Pro shutting down. Not the same action making it shutdown. Anywhere from being online to attaching a photo to an email to working in Word or Photoshop. Even after it's closed and not being used. I come back to it being shut off and saying it had to restart because of a problem. I ran the Hardware check and got the Hardware error code 4MEM/62/40000000:0x7f537f90.
I must say I am quite disappointed. I have used Mac for work but had a PC since day one, and I JUST got this Macbook Pro in Dec. I was delighted that Mac usually didn't have as many problems with viruses etc as PC. And now last couple days, constantly shutting itself down. The closest store to me is a few hrs away. I am in South Dakota, store is in Minnesota Any help would be appreciated.

Can you post a screen shot of About This Mac -> (More Info) -> System Report -> Memory and click on each DIMM and post the bottom right pane. You can also do the same without a screen shot using just text version using the following highlighted command in OSX Terminal. The output is also listed.

  • My mac won't start up- hardware error code

Recently my computer was running slow and was constantly freezing.  My first thoughts were to clear some of my data off my computer.  After emptying the trash of unwanted photos/videos/ documents the computer froze for 2+ minutes.  At this point I forced a restart by holding down the power button.  Since then, my computer will not start.  It stops @ the apple logo with spinning grey wheel and will not go any further.  I have tried the install disk which is not working-- while holding C during start up the disk just ends up ejecting.  I have also tried safe booting which will display a status bar under the apple icon and the grey spinning wheel but nothing else happens.  Last night I ran an extended hardware test and received a hardware error code of 4M0T/4/40000003:HDD-1296.
    Any suggestions?

    The hard drive needs replacing.

  • List of hardware error codes

    Hello,
Is there a list of hardware error codes that are generated when internal server systems fail? For example, on a T2000 when the CPU fan fails we get a message like this in the syslog:
    Nov 4 09:34:49 systemx rmclomv: [ID 431010 kern.error] CPU_FAN @ MB.P0.F0.RS has FAILED.
    Thanks,
    mgb

    Nope.
There is no such "list" of error codes.
Your log entry is telling you the information in clear (although abbreviated) text.
In the excerpt you provided, you can think of the `ID431010` as the 431,010th kernel error logged by the system. Such numbers start at some random low beginning and are accumulated sequentially by your system.
The log entry was plainly reporting on fan #0 for processor #0 located on the motherboard of hostname `systemx`as viewed from the perspective of LightsOutManager.
Fans will fail. Replace the part.

  • Hardware Error Code 37

Vista HP SP2 - Device Manager - Under Processors - two lines with yellow notice -
    Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6600 @ 2.40GHZ  (both lines the same)
Properties - Device Status - Windows cannot initialize the device driver for this hardware (Code 37).
I clicked on "Check for Solutions"  No response.
I clicked on "Update Driver" Searched online and it came back "Windows has determined the driver software for your deviceis up to date."
I Uninstalled the driver and rebooted the computer. Nothing about detecting new hardware or reinstalling drivers notice came up.  Went back into Device Manager and yellow warning still present on the Processors list.
    any ideasWAM

I found a fix to my Processor hardware error code 37.
System File Checker (SFC)  - Ran it from the Command Prompt and it fixed the problem.

  • Hardware Error Code

I ran the hardware test on my iMac and got the error code disp/15/5 back from the last test (video I think). Anyone know what that code is for, or know where to get a list of codes. My monitor gets little blue or yellow dots after a little use, then they build up more and more and I end up getting the grey screen with the reset symbol saying I need to reset.

Any guesses on how long it would take until the computer was completely unusable? I'd always be able to boot it via firewire off another computer to get the HD backed up right? Right now it isn't really up long enough to do a complete backup. I'd have to do bit by bit.

  • Hardware error on my iMac

Hello. I was having problems w/ my iMac and so I ran the Apple Hardware Test. It immediately came back with an error: 4MEM/2/40000000:3CBE8054
Does anyone know how to figure out what this means? It certainly looks like a memory problem, but I'd like to know for sure ...
(the machine is an iMac w/ 2 GB of RAM and a dual-core 2.33 GHz processor)
    Thanks!

    HI Andrew,
You are correct. The memory is bad and needs replacing.

  • Please help me read this hardware error code?

I do hear one of the SATA disks in my machine acting up.  Strange behavior lately.  I've been through this HD failure scenario before...the
Apple hardware test issue confirms an issue...
    4hdd/11/40000000:SATA(2,0)
Does this error tell me which disk is potentially failing?  Which SATA slot?

Well I did say: use their Lifeguard either CD or Windows
And Windows is useful, and Windows 8 is even free. The CD you burn and runs a small linux kernel + utility.
When you got some 'sounds' is when to head to Disk Warrior for instance, to rebuild the directory and it also will write SMART status of how many spare blocks there were/are/used - gets written to the system log when you click on hardware test button.
If it is a WD drive, while SMART is a standard, WD may read the data and write to drive's log, different and know better (and does much better job) the one person that could not run Lifeguard, that is actually common with drives used by Mac OS X and have to do Zero ALL first, then go back to quck test, and run Extended test if you want. Apple GPT structure seems to be different and can't access some areas and parameters until it is zeroed out.
Shame that 1TB drives are no longer $89 they were. 'Egg has WD Black for $124 (Amazon gave up matching price). But you do need a new system drive and maybe FW800 case to get on your feet.

  • Anyone heard or seen an apple hardware error code 4MOT/4/40000003:HDD-1255 ?

  • Hardware error code post/0/2048

    Hi,
    Has anyone seen this code?
I appreciate any info on this
    Sincerely,
    Steve

    Asher
    thanks for responding!
It reassured the decision I made last week.
I had just installed 1GB of Ram and sometimes it showed up in the About this computer and sometimes it didn't.
SO I took it back exchanged it for another brand, installed it and ran the hardware check, no problems and my iBook recognizes it!
    Thanks again

  • Hardware Error Code 4SNS/1/40000000:Th 1 H-83.625

I have been having issues with my mid 2009 13" MacBook Pro since the day I bought it. When running games I have lag even though my system specs are above the games recommended requirements At first I thought is was not a big deal so I ignored it. Its been getting worse now games that used to run fine are slowing down. A firend of mine has the same exact computer and specifications as I have and has no issues what so ever running any games. I just ran a hardware test and received this error. 4SNS/1/40000000:Th 1 H-83.625
    Can anyone help?

You mean aside from my typo?
There are several temperature sensors in the computer that monitor the GPU, CPU, hard drive, memory temperatures. They tie into the SMC chip that controls the fans. As temperatures rise internally the SMC will increase fan speeds to keep the computer cool. A failed sensor could result in allowing something to overheat without increasing fan speed or cause the SMC to run the fans at top speed continuously.
The error information tells the service tech what and where the problem is so they can repair it properly.
