Hardware Improvement with OS X upgrading?

Hi everyone
I have a MacBook Pro (Late 2011)
In recent time I have some issues with my Macbook Pro like overheating and trackpad problems. I have OS X Lion (10.7.5) installed. Earlier this month once my trackpad started to acting such weird but eventually it is working fine now. I think the reason was heating near 90 degree Celsius due to gaming.
So I am planning to upgrade my Mac OS X Mavericks. Will it be helpful in hardware efficiency and heating issues?
Or any other improvement in hardware because of OS X upgrade.

Apple has not yet released hardware requirements (RAM etc) for that future OSX, as such cannot speculate as to it and your 2011 Macbook.
It sounds as if you have some heating due to gaming and a trackpad that needs to be diagnosed by Apple to see if it is hardware or software issue.
diagnosis is FREE at your Apple store even if out or warranty.

Good day and thanks for your help. AppleCare has been unable to solve or identify my problem. Since upgrading to version 10.4 I am unable to have my iphone or ipods be recognized in iTunes. I have deleted and reloaded iTunes four times, as instructed by my AppleCare tech. I still cannot see any devices in iTunes. I am running a Dell Latitude D620 with XP, Service Pack 3. New Build with Operating System upgrade from ME to XP

I am going to inbark on my first system build. THe MSI K8N Neo4 Platinium is highly recommended. I am not going to do a complete rebuild. I am just going to keep my newest hardward from my old system. My old processer a P3 933mhz along with moboard is at the core of my upgrade. I noticed on the K8N page that the board does not support ME. My old system (Gateway) shipped with ME for which I purchased the XP upgrade. I understand that the XP upgrade disk has the full operating system on it and all I have to do is put the ME disk in when the XP disk asks for previous operating system. Will this board be able to recognize the ME disk so that it will pass muster with the XP upgrade disk?

The MSI K8N NEO 4 Platinum is a very stable board, has a good range of features, is highly overclockable and is just great. I think mine is great so far and I suggest you buy a decent power supply with 22A - 24A minimum on the +12V rail to make sure it lasts and worls 100% correctly.

Back up all data.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
Step 1
If you have more than one user account, and the one in question is not an administrator account, then temporarily promote it to administrator status in the Users & Groups preference pane. To do that, unlock the preference pane using the credentials of an administrator, check the box marked Allow user to administer this computer, then reboot. You can demote the problem account back to standard status when this step has been completed.

That's one word, all lower case, with no spaces. Then press return. A Reset Password window will open. You’re not going to reset a password.

They changed it a bit, but you can still close apps. Double click the Home button to pull up the currently running apps. Side scroll over to the app you want to close, then swipe up on the app *window* (not the icon at the bottom).

Good question now that Mavericks is free to all.
It used to be - and is probably still the case - that to comply with the license you should erase and re-install the OS that came pre-installed on the Mac when new. If there were restore disks they needed to be passed on with the Mac.
I'm happy to be corrected on this by someone who's more au fait with the legalese, but an upgraded OS is tied to an AppleID whereas the original OS is tied to the computer, not an AppleID.
My guess is, that if you launched the Recovery HD, erased the drive using Disk Utility and re-installed the OS, Lion would be installed.
Be interesting to see what others say.

Reason I had to chat with Customer Support is that I got the following message upon placing Upgrade Order.

If you have OS X 10.6.8 as you state you can not get iphoto form the App store - you must have Yosemite OS X 10.10. installed to download iphoto 9.6 from the App store

First let me disabuse of a misconception: All Adobe upgrades are FULL installers. Whether you buy them as upgrades or new versions does not make an iota of difference. The upgrade installers do not need to find a prior version installed, they just prompt you for the old serial number as well as the old one, and they do not rely on the old version in the least.
Second, the time to uninstall an older version is BEFORE upgrading to a newer one. Otherwise, the uninstaller from the older versions will mess up with your new install. There are a gazillion files that are named the same and in the same locations as the new one.
Your best bet now is to uninstall ALL the Photoshop versions you have installed, including the newest one, one by one, then run the Adobe CS Cleaner Tool, then run Repair Permissions from Apple's Desk Utility, and finally re-install the latest version.
The other alternative, if your boot HD is large enough (very doubtful in case of a laptop like a Mac Book), is to leave all versions on it.
Your choice.

PowerBook 520c with the PPC upgrade

The standard CPU configuration for this PB will handle up to OS 8.1. Can one go beyond that (ie OS 8,6) with the PPC upgrade?

Although you can give a PB 500 a new heart, the rest of the circulatory system remains the same. 680x0 upgrades to PPC are not supported by OS 8.5, let alone OS 8.6. If the upgrade to PPC includes a logic board upgrade, you can expect greater things.
