Hardware issue for DVD-ROM

Hey guys,
I am using Hp Pavilion DV6-2105ee which is integrated with DVD-RW (Model: Hp CDDVDW TS-L633N ATA).
I am using this machine since last couple of years and it is going great but a few from last few weeks I am having a trouble with my DVD Drive. I don't know what has happend due to which, window is unable to allocate the drive.
I have tried many things like "Software Update & Uninstalling and installing again". I have tried fixit by Microsoft but the problem remains same. When I click on device properties it shows this kind of error in "Device Status"
(Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)
I am unable to solve that issue. I would be really grateful to someone if he help me in this issue.

Hi,
Try following the procedure under the sub-heading 'Let me fix it myself' on the link below to manually remove the Upper and Lower filters and see if this helps the issue.

  • AIR to use for DVD-ROM application - a question

For a customer (a sound-enginering in film) I am looking for a solution to produce a DVD-ROM (like the 'old' CD-ROM application) for the presentation (a sort of portfolio) of +/- 400 soundfiles (not music, but real sound).
In the past the production of CD-ROM application was done using "Macromedia Director".
Now for the past two weeks I have discovered and studied a little about the "desktop" possibilities of AIR-technology. This has greatly impressed me.
I would like to use AIR (build with Flex) to produce the whole interface for the DVD: displaying the soudfiles in different way: categories, maybe treemapping, searchable database with SQL-lite etc...
My question is: has someone experience with the use of AIR for DVD-ROM? Can he/she recommends something? The pros/contras?
    Thank you in advance,
    konrad

As ab1301 says, you can bundle the AIR runtime on the disc if you sign up for a redistribution license agreement:
    See  http://www.adobe.com/products/air/runtime_distribution1.html.
However, I believe that still won't get you what you're looking for.
I assume you want the menu to run directly from the DVD. However, AIR applications must be installed to run -- you can't run them directly from a portable storage like DVD-ROM, USB memory stick, etc.
So, if you want to have the installer for your AIR application be on a DVD, and have it install the application on the user's computer, you can do that (but you'll probably need the redistribution license and you'll probably also need to write your own custom installer). This thread doesn't provide a complete answer but it does offer some relevent advice:

  • Folders For DVD-ROM Content?

Hey all - when adding DVD-ROM content, am I limited to dumping all of the files into one directory, or can I use a folder structure? For example, I'd like my DVD-ROM selections to include pictures, mp3's, and wallpapers, with each of those housed in its folder.
If this is possible, pelase let me know how I can go about doing it. Thanks for your help.

    RiceCooker,
    You state:
However, when I go back to access the file on the DVD its completely useless.  Its there but will not respond to anything I do to it.
What exactly have you tried to access the files in the ROM Content? Remember, none of this content will be available from a set-top DVD player.. One can only access from a computer.
Might be a problem with the folder/files, or with the method used to access them. BTW, what are the file types in that folder?
    Good luck,

  • Idvd project with video and slideshow for dvd-rom file access

working on an idvd project with both a video section and photos in a few photo galleries. its' a slightly more complex project, but still only 2gb on a 4gb disc. After we burn (with all dvd-rom contents checked, and advance>edit dvd-rom contents shows photo files all there) the finished disc doesn't have files available in the dvd-romcontents! its' driving us mad as simpler projects are burning properly, with both photo and video files available. Could there be some kind of conflict occurring? does anyone have any ideas?!

    Steve,
It sounds like Windows Movie Maker Live was used. The regular WMM will Export to DV-AVI Type I, which will Import into PrPro much better.
I would recommend converting the WMA/WMV to DV-AVI, and Importing that into a DV NTSC (if you are in NTSC-land) Project.
Then, you would use Encore to do the DVD authoring. There are several ways to get the material on your Sequence into Encore. ADL (Adobe Dynamic Link) is probably the easiest way to do this.
What is your exact workflow from PrPro, into Encore?
What brand of blank media are you burning the DVD to?
This ARTICLE will give you some tips.
Good luck, and let us know a bit more,
    Hunt
PS - Multiplexing is the function of combining the Audio and the Video into one file. There are usually two choices, "None" and then often "DVD." For None, you will get two separate files - one for the Audio and one for the Video. With "DVD" you should get a muxed (combined) file. Actually, the separate Audio and Video is the preferred way, if one is doing an Export from PrPro, and then an Import to Encore. One would Import the Video into Encore as a Timeline, and the Audio as an Asset. In Encore, just drag the Audio file from the Project Panel to the appropriate Timeline, where it will snap into place.

  • Button link for DVD Rom content

Is it possible to have a button on the DVD menu that opens a window on the desktop showing the path to the DVD-Rom content on a disk?

But you can hae a button that opens a "window" (a menu) that says that additional content can be opened on the computer in the "Extra_Content" folder. It just won't take you to the content.
And add a button to go back, or also make the end actionof the menu to return (and set a duration for the menu).

  • OPTIARC-AD7560A-D803.exe firmware and CRC/installation issues for DvD RW drive

Does anyone happen to know if the "OPTIARC-AD7560A-D803.exe" file is still available? If so, where?
The file seems necessary to correct issues with my DVD RW drive, which experiences unfounded CRC errors when I try to install certain software from CD.
The download link for this file was very easy to find on Lenovo's support website, but unfortunately the link produces what seems to be a 404 error or notice of discontinuation provided in cantonese.
I know I need this file- if it is no longer supported by Lenovo, is there any place where I can download either that file or some equivalent new firmware to end the CRC errors?
    Thanks!

  • Hardware Issue for HP Probook 4510s

    Dear All
i'm facing a problem with HP Probook 4510s notebook.
after installing new copy of windows, i found the following hardware needs a driver : "HP USB Dock" and its Hardware is: "USB\vid_058f&pid_6387&Rev_0100".
I connected the notebook to a dock station.
would anyone tell me where can i find a driver for this hardware ?

    Hello micho,
I understand you are in need of a driver for your HP Probook 4510s Notebook. I am sorry, but to get your issue more exposure, I would suggest posting it in the commercial forums, since this is a commercial product. You can do this at Notebook - HP ProBook, EliteBook, Compaq, Slate/Tablet PC, Armada, LTE.
I hope this helps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great weekend!

  • Burn DVD ROM for Compatiblity ? ? ?

I read that a DVD ROM disc is more compatible with settop player.I notice that Encore has a option for DVD ROM burning, somthing I have read about and have not been able to do. I guess I should burn my project to an image file. Then a DVD ROM from the image file ? ? How is it done correctly ? ? ?
    Thanks - Video

As far as I know, the ROM CONTENT option is so you may add "other content" to a movie DVD, playable only on a computer... such as links to web pages, or a PowerPoint presentation... or any other content that is not a "movie" to play in a set top player
If you want to make a "movie" DVD to play in a set top player connected to a TV... you just use the usual burn option (or create an .ISO to burn later or make multiple discs)

  • HP 15-d041TU DVD-ROM HP UJ8FBA makes a noise when not using

Hi everyone, here comes another problem from my newly bought HP, i sorted out nearly every issue that came along (packed) with this driver less laptop, now i have a issue that dvd rom makes a noise as if pick up is moving every once in 5 minutes, there is no disc in the drive, and i am not using it at all. I opened it and closed it doesn't seem to help. So after numerous searches i did this!
    1. ) Disabled Autorun of Windows 8
    2. ) Did a hard reset, i don't know if it's correct. "Hold the power button for 15 seconds" when computer is swtiched off
    3. ) Updated the bios again, it was updated i think but i did update again i don't know no messages about same bios etc.
Now so far problem didn't arise, PHEW!
What could have caused this? has anyone had the same problem? What was the solution worked for you?

Here's the solution, it's not the drive that makes the sound. it is the hard drive, lol hardrive is located in the right bottom of the machine which i thought it's in the left. Even when i have the drive ejected it still makes the noise so it can't be the drive right?.

  • DVD-ROM contents missing

I created a .dmg (disk image) in iDVD containing a movie and a folder of photos in the DVD-ROM section.
I burned the DVD in Toast (8.0 I think)because it makes it so easy to do mass copies.
My .dmg when mounted on my desktop contains the folder of photos. I just assumed that they were making it to the burned DVD's. After burning 63 copies, I discovered that the burned DVD was MISSING the entire folder of photos that had been placed for DVD-ROM access.
Needless to say, I was VERY frustrated. It's too late to fix it now, I'm just giving them the DVD and telling them that the pictures are not on it like I thought.
However, I'd like to avoid this problem in the future. I did this last year with our end-of-year slideshow and it worked fine.
How could the .dmg contain the folder, but the burned DVD from the .dmg have it missing?

Yes, I do know that DVD-ROM contents are not accessible through the TV. I tried it in both a Mac and a Windows computer and the DVD-ROM contents were missing from both.
I'm 99% positive, that I burned the .dmg image the same way that I did last year. I burned it in Toast both years--last year's DVD-ROM contents burned fine, this year's didn't.
But thanks for trying to help. Hopefully, I'll figure out an answer. Maybe I'll find something in google.

  • I need some drivers for my CD-RW/DVD-ROM drive

I have been going through the apple site for a few hours here and I would really like to speak to a human being about this. This is not hard. I have a Pismo PowerBook G3, which I purchased online, used. Wiped the HD when I got it, installed 10.2.8. Updated iTunes to version 6.0.5. I get an error message when I try to burn a CD, missing software or incompatible drive. The drive is an apple brand drive. I am not certain where to find the serial number on it, there are a lot of numbers on it, but it can be provided if someone will tell me where to look. It's not a hardware problem, I can watch DVDs and play CDs, just can't burn. The drive says "CD-RW/DVD-ROM" right on it, and my computer is able to recognize it as such in the system profiler. I am led to believe I am missing a driver(s) that will allow iTunes to burn CDs with the drive.
It'd be great if I could get this on a disc, but if I can just download it from somewhere (willing to pay for it/them!), as long as I can burn it to a disc or download it again if I install a larger HD, that's wonderful. Or, say, I could wait on downloading it until I HAVE upgraded the HD, which I will probably do in the coming year. This would not be as wonderful, but I'm willing to do it.
    Please, can somebody help me?

If you can, I'd recommend upgrading to 10.4, as it usually recognizes any 3rd party CDRW/DVD or DVD burner, without the need for Patchburn.
You can check the xlr8yourmac website for reports from Pismo (and other PB) users who have added aftermarket CD/DVD burners to their Pismos, etc.
I too love the Pismo (have had and upgraded at least 10 over the years, some for me and some for family members). The expansion bay was a great idea back in the day. I've found that most if not all aftermarket notebook, a.k.a. "slim" burners fit in the expansion bay. And the Pismo, coupled with Tiger 10.4 (I find 10.4.7 to be outstanding and haven't updated beyond it), is highly usable still today, given that big hard disks and DVD burners and 54g wifi PCMCIA cards (Airport compatible, no drivers needed: e.g. the Motorola WN825G cardbus card) have plummeted in price from a couple years ago. Too bad that compatible RAM is still expensive, as are new Pismo batteries (new, they cost more than many Pismos on eBay!).
As to brands/models, I like the Sony-Nec Optiarc AW-G540A 8x DVD burner (recognized as Master, ID=0 right out of the box, very fast, fairly quiet, priced @ $50-60) because it just works; and the UJ-8xx series DVD burners from Panasonic, which are pretty reliable (and very cheap on ebay if they're older models), because you can swap the faceplate/bezel with the original bezel from the DVD-Rom in your Pismo (if it was a Panasonic model; Apple also used LG drives).
    Good luck.

  • I have a DVD-Rom and DVD-Video card for Powerbook and need advice

I acquired 2 accessory components for a G3 series powerbook. I have a dual G4 so have no use for them. There is a M4743 DVD-Rom for Powerbook and a DVD-Video PC card for G3 series Powerbook family M5163. There is also a software CD. I would like to sell them but I really don’t how to explain what this stuff does. I tried Ebay and did not find any matches. Does this make a DVD upgrade for a particular Powerbook? Is something else required? Is Ebay the best place to sell? Any idea what this stuff is worth? Any advice would be greatly appreciated
    Bob

    Robert,
You apparently have the DVD Video Player Kit for the Powerbook G3 Series "Wallstreet" M4753.
    This is the DVD-ROM module:
    http://www.powerbookmedic.com/xcart1/customer/product.php?productid=16219&cat=26 6&page=1
This is the DVD Decoder PC card:
    http://www.ifixit.com/cart/customer/product.php?productid=296&cat=&page=1
The above DVD PC card is not Apple's but there were two third-party vendors who also offered a DVD kit...VST and MCE. They all served the same purpose and will all be priced similarly.
Both PC card and optical drive are required to play DVD movies on the Wallstreet, plus Apple DVD Player is only supported when booted to 9.x, not 10.x.
I really cannot give you a fair price to ask; the above hardware prices are probably high but you will get an idea.
