HARDWARE NOT RECOGNIZED

Hi,
My printer is the HP psc 1215 all-in-one
the scanner,photocopying works fine.but when i plug in the cable to print something from my laptop,it says harware not recognized and i tried uninstalling and installing again but does not work.i also bought a new cable but that also does not work.I have been using the printer and this happened all of a sudden.
Please let me know what i can do!

Ok. then click on Start Menu and select Run. then type 'services.msc' and press OK. Look for a service in this window named Remote Procedure Call, and double click on it. Make sure the service is started, and the startup type set to automatic.

Please help. I keep getting an error mssage "USB Hardware not Recognized by Windows" I believe i have tried it all. Uninstalled Itunes. Reinstalled Itunes.
Okay I just tried pluggin it in as I typed this and it worked. The only thing I did diffrent was I unplugged my External Back-up drive.

I have a combo floppy drive/USB 2.0 card reader and I believe I have the same problem.
I'm not over-clocking and while USB shows up in WinXP in device manager the card reader is not recognized by the system even though I KNOW I have it connected correctly. The floppy works fine.
I believe the 4 USB ports on the mobo are non-functional but can't test it until Thursday sometime.
Hopefully this is correctable with a BIOs update.
Anyone else have issues with the USB ports on the mobo and if so, were you able to fix it? How?

Hardware not recognized when installed via an image

In our labs we use a lot of computers with various NI cards in it. All the computers are the same. The installation of the computers is done via an image over a network. When a new image is loaded, the hardware in the PC is not recognized, even if the computer configuration is exactly the same as on the image. An administrator has to log in every single computer, to run MAX. How can this be done automatically?

As I understand it you wish to get your 128gb SSD to be recognized by your HP Pavilion dv6-7029wm. Unfortunately, as per the HP Pavilion dv6 Entertainment PC Maintenance and Service Guide for your computer located here your computer supports only the 160-GB drive SSD. This would be why it is not being recognized by your computer.

External Hardware not Recognized

Prior to installing Leopard, I could plug in or turn on external hardware devices (e.g. cameras, USB Duo Audio preamp, printer/scanner) AFTER booting the computer and the machine would immediately recognize them. With Leopard, I now must restart the machine any time I turn on or plug in external devices.
Anyone else experienced this, and/or is there a solution?

Friday's http://www.macfixit.com had a note about USB drives and about LaCie.
Also, even FirmTek's SeriTek controllers for eSATA have an issue with sleep and having to unmount drives first.

I'd say there was some major changes under the hood affecting how all disk drives are now handled.
In some cases you probably will need to or consider reformatting to get a drive to work.
IN most OS releases, there had to be firmware updates for FireWire (Oxford, Lacie, etc) devices.
So... quite common in some ways.
Odd that this is affecting consumer electronics now though

HP Pavilion tx1000z - Wireless card not recognized

Model: HP Pavilion tx1000z CTO Notebook PC
Wireless has been working fine - two weeks ago it failed to be recognized.
1. Doesn't appear in Device Manager
2. Wireless switch remains amber.
3. Attempted to use Add hardware - not recognized.
4. Pulled the card and re-installed.
No solution.
So...
Contacted HP and purchased a replacement card.
Installed new card.
No solution. Still failing to be recognized.
All other ports are working to include the wired internal modem.
Contaced HP help and their solution is to send it in to the repair center and for the low price of only $400(!) they'll replace the motherboard. This was after zero troubleshooting on their part.
Any help would GREATLY be appreciated as I'm a deployed soldier and this laptop is my one link to home.

Well I cannot self promote but am actually affiliated with a store that could do the repair, but I will steer you instead to some of our peers. A very lively industry has popped up on ebay for such things. These ads talk about the "no video" problem but the "no wireless" is caused by the same thing. I would communicate with them in advance of buying and make sure they understand it is the "no wireless" problem and I am sure they will explain how they can fix that, too.
This guy does it for $125 flat and has a 100% rating:

They are all doing essentially the same repair which has proven to extend the life of the laptop by 12 to 18 months. I think somewhere up to $150 is fair for a year of use on a laptop as you would buy a new one for 4 times that or more and expect to get 3 or 4 years out of it.

1st generation iPod not recognized on Vista - drivers / hardware not found

I have a new PC, which now very unfortunately runs Windows Vista as an operating system - I have installed iTunes latest version 7.4 but still the PC does not recognize my iPod or doesn't find the hardware - can anyone help?

Even though my software and hardware is up to date my new iPhone 5c is not recognized by my computer or itunes, it does not even load or show up on my desktop. Is anyone else having this problem?

Yoga Pro 2 - Display not recognized in windows (Driver or Hardware issue?)

Out of warranty by a month!
Yoga Pro 2 - 256gb, installed new wireless card a month ago. Windows 8.1
The touchscreen still works while the screen is black.
System restarted after sleep mode I think.
The Lenovo logo is displayed, seems to load windows, but when windows loads (I don't see it load so this is an assumption) the screen blanks and the black light is on.
I can connect an external monintor which will connect after a return from sleep mode(odd). Which then turns the backlight off.
When on the external monitor the internal display is not even recognized by windows.
When I boot in safe mode, the internal screen works fine with of course limited capability.
I have reloaded display drivers from the support site.
Right now my internal monitor is not recognized by windows and is dark, and I can use an external monitor.
Anyone have any clues as to what my be going on? Hardware, driver etc???

This is a pretty weird issue with conflicting observations.
1) Screen works in Safe Mode but not in regular boot. (So, not hardware issue)
2) Display works on external monitor in regular mode. (So, not drivers issue)
Did you install the wireless card yourself? Did you unplug the display cable while installing the card?
Could you re-open and check that all connections are good?
Is the Wi-Fi card working well?
I would also recommend a complete reset of the laptop to eliminate the possibility that this is a corrupt driver. You can use the NOVO button to reset your laptop. Make sure to make a backup on external drive for your personal files.

Purple Lobster your Creative Suite 4 serial number is for Windows or Mac only. If you were previously using it on Windows then it is likely you have a Windows license. Airport Not Recognized even after hardware test

Out of the blue my airport card is no longer recognized by my computer. I reseated the card with no success. I then took the computer into my local apple store and had them run some tests. I don't remember the name of the software program used but the Apple Genious tested all of my hardware to make sure it was ok. The Airport Card tested fine. So he thought that maybe there was a software problem. I reinstalled OSX and reseated my card again and still no luck. Any thoughts? Lastly, how do I force my computer to relook for new hardware on startup. What keys do you hold down? I would like to see if I can force the computer to look for new hardware after I try reseating one more time?

My powerbook also out of the blue is not recognizing my airport card. I've reseated, repaired permissions, reset PRAM, PMU, tried a brand new airport card, and nothing works. If anyone has a solution I would be insanely grateful.

OK here's a humdinger: my ipod used to be recognized by my computer (meaning Windows XP), but then abruptly stopped in a catastrophic meltdown that completely wiped my ipod of everything -- didn't even show the menu. Fastforward, ipod is replaced. Windows will still not recognize it -- most of the time. The toolbar says USB device detected and hardware installed and ready to use, but the message that it's not recognized by Windows still appears. Now I said it was recognized sometimes. When it magically is (this is my only description for it because there is no apparent reason), and this is rare, usually after the computer has been turned off for awhile, the ipod will sync through about a fifth of my library then quit. The "disc cannot be found" message appears, and Windows stops recognizing and I'm back to square one. One would think that I now at least have a fifth of my songs on the ipod. Nope, just one for each time this has happened (being 2). Please do not respond with anything having to do with updating or uninstalling/reinstalling drivers, disabling USB 2.0, searching for E:\ drive, Windows Update, the whole appleipod.bat thing, updating itunes, or scanning for new hardware as I have tried these and a few other solutions. Ipod not recognized by windows, itunes, and will not charge with pc.

yesterday, when i went to sync some new music onto my 1gen nano, it did not work (duh). i plugged it in 3 times:
-1st, it displayed the "do not connect screen" for one second, and itunes flashed the screen it shows when your ipod is connected, but then the ipod disconnected itself after that one second.
-2nd, windows gave me a message saying the hardware could not be recognized.
-3rd, nothing at all happened, as has been happening each time i try to plug it in since then.
i've done the 5 R's .. and i've tried all the suggestions shown on posts that sound like mine, including these: Windows XP cannot detect an iPod.
USB drivers are not installed properly or are out of date.
iTunes 7 doesn't recognize the iPod.
my ipod will charge when plugged into a wall charger, and it plays normally. also, my brother's ipod (2nd gen nano) is recognized by windows/itunes.

I have been having nearly the same problem as Crashcup for the past month. Differences being I am operating with Windows Vista and my iPod is a 160GB Classic. I have gone through all the steps in the troubleshooting documents to no result. I attach my iPod and it is not recognized by Windows, iTunes or even in Device Manager. Not even as an "Unknown Device".
I know there is nothing wrong with the USB ports as two different external hard drives and a video game controller work perfectly fine through them. Same goes with the iPod itself; it continues to play and function normally, and is recognized by a charging device completely separate from my laptop. Just when attached to the computer there is no sign of it.
I am very frustrated that there is no further instruction with regard to what to do with an iPod Classic (as referred to by Crashcup: "...it says to take a photo with an iPhone, or a screenshot with an iPod touch or iPad. WHAT ABOUT THE IPOD CLASSIC????)
Any help would be much appreciated.l=

USB Device not recognized by windows

When I first plugged my iPod into my computer, it went through the whole recognizing new hardware thing. Installed the drivers, then said that the new device was ready to use. But then I get a message that says "Device malfunction, device not recognized by windows" or something to that effect. I only have 3 days to return this iPod...anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

I'm not very familiar with the Windows OS but try this tip I picked on the forum up a while back, hopefully it might help.
1. On the Start menu, click Control Panel.
2. Double-click the System icon.
3. Click the Hardware tab.
4. Click Device Manager.
5. Scroll down the list of devices to the Universal Serial Bus controllers
6. Click the plus icon next to the Universal Serial Bus controllers.
7. Double-click one of the indented USB Root Hub entries.
8. Click the Power Management tab.
9. Deselect the "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" option.
10. Click the OK button at the bottom of the window.
11. Restart the computer.

IPod is not recognized by Windows, iTunes or Device Manager

I'm running Windows XP with external hard drive. When hard drive is connected, iPod will not sync and I get message stating "USB Device Not Recognized. One of the USB devices had malfunctioned..."
When disconnect, iPod will sync. However, iTunes is on external drive; therefore musc is not syncing onto iPod. I've attempted the 5 R's as well as searching for iPod in Device Mananger. AFTER, IT SAYS "THE HARDWARE WAS NOT INSTALLED BECAUSE THE WIZARD CANNOT FIND THE NECESARRY SOFTWARE".AFTER I WENT TO WWW.APPLE.COM TO FIND OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS, I'VE LOOKED THROUGH AND READ EVERY ARTICLE THAT CAN PERTAIN TO MY SITUTAION, BUT NONE HAVE HELPED ME I AM DISPLEASED TO SAY, THE LAST ARTICLE I READ WAS THIS ONE:
