Hardware requirements for latest UCCX version.
Hello,
We are looking to implement UCCX for a small call center. We will have no more than 20 licences for user. What appliance will support this implementation or will we be able to provision our own server for this install?
Thanks,
Ryan
Ryan,
Here's a link to the UCCX Compatibility Matrix:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cust_contact/contact_center/crs/express_compatibility/matrix/crscomtx.pdf
Your hardware requirements are going to vary depending on your version selection.
Further, the SRND includes a section that's more direct:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cust_contact/contact_center/crs/express_8_0/design/guide/uccx80srnd.pdf
If you look in the Sizing Tools section, you'll see the MCS 7816 platform supports <50 agents with 30 BHCA ea (1500 call/hour peak).
Going a step further, the Compatibility Matrix shows UCCX 8.0 (as an example) as supporting the models MCS-7816-I3-CCX1
MCS-7816-I4-CCX.
However, USE THE SIZING TOOLS!
Hope this helps...

Hardware required for RAC setup at home
Hi All,
Could you please suggest the Hardware required for practicing RAC at home.
Regards,
VNHi, "user7202581",
For practicing purposes, you could consider a VBox / OVM based setup at home. We have used those for Hands On Labs in the course of Oracle Open World more than once. I recommend you use a machine with at least 8GB memory and dual core (HT enabled) processors. Some configuration examples: Lenovo Laptop, ThinkPad, 8GB, 320GB HDD, i5 dual core, 2.5 GHz, Win 7 or a Mac Mini, latest version, i5 dual core, 2.3GHz and 8GB memory would do the trick for a two node cluster. Note that I mention the hosting OS in case you use VBox. For OVM based setups you either have to use a dual boot system or use a dedicated machine. You will be somewhat restricted with respect to the hardware failures you can impose on this system obviously (due to the VM setup), but for practicing purposes, you should find those environments sufficient, I think. Also see: RAC on OVM templates: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/server-storage/vm/rac-template-11grel2-166623.html
Hope that helps. Thanks,

What are the recommended system & hardware requirements for clients P6 Professional and Client Web for P6 8.2 ???
I need to know the recommended systems & hardware requirements for clients P6 Professional and Client Web for P6 8.2
I mean what kind of processor, memory ram minimum and maximus to run or to deploy P6 Professional Client from P6 8.2 version and the requeriments to run the P6 8.2 Web application.
I need like a chart (not necesary) with the most common configuration with hardware and software like the example below
SO Ram Hdd Processor
P6 Professional 8,2 Windows Xp Sp3 4 Gb 2 Gb + Core2Duo 1,8 +
Oracle Linux 4 Gb 3 Gb Core2Duo 1,6 +
P6 Web 8,2 Windows Xp Sp3 4 Gb 2 Gb + Core2Duo 1,8 +
Oracle Linux 4 Gb 3 Gb Core2Duo 1,6 +
Because all information I saw it´s about Server (Database, Server Application and others) and not very clever about P6 8.2 Client and P6 8.2 Web.I haven't seen PC requirements for a Win workstation per se either. Here are the only 8.2 client requirements I can find.
Supported Configurations for Client Modules

Oracle WebLogic Server 11g (10.3.3) System Requirements
Oracle WebLogic Server supports a number of platforms including:
– Linux
– Sun Solaris
– HP-UX
– Windows 2000, 2003 Server, XP
• Processor:
– At least one 1 GHz CPU is recommended.
– Intel and UNIX processors are supported.
• Hard disk drive:
– A full installation requires approximately 2 GB of disk space.
– The Linux value for file descriptors must be 4096 or greater.
– Samples are optional (download from OTN).
• Memory:
– A minimum of 2 GB RAM is recommended for WebLogic
Server.
– Consider the number of simultaneous users and sessions.
– Consider in-memory programs, such as Coherence.
System Requirements
The following are some of the basic system requirements for Oracle WebLogic Server 10.3.3:
• The Oracle WebLogic Server installer requires a Java Runtime Environment (JRE) to run.
Oracle WebLogic Server is certified with JDK6.0. As part of the installation, it gives the option
to install the JRockit JDK 6.0 version. As part of postinstallation, prefix the bin directory of
the JDK to the PATH environment variable.
• The Oracle WebLogic Server installer requires a temporary location in which to unpack the
files. Typically, the installer requires approximately 2.5 times the amount of temporary space
that is required by the installed files.
Note: In this release of WebLogic Server, users can choose which components of WebLogic Server
they use. Specifically, this release allows users to choose whether the Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB),
Java Message Service (JMS), and J2CA services are started when WebLogic Server is started. The
benefit of excluding some services is reduced memory footprint and reduced startup time. -

Minumum hardware requirement for Siebel Document server?
what is the minimum hardware requirement for Siebel document server?
To install the Document Server, perform the following steps:
Obtain the required hardware.
Install the Siebel Server.
Install third-party applications.
After installing the Siebel Server, you may have to follow some of the steps described in Configuring the Document Server. The Document Server is a component of Siebel eDocuments, which can be installed during installation of the Siebel Server. Consult with your system administrator to verify that the Document Server has been installed and configured according to the requirements listed in the following sections.
Hardware Requirements
The Document Server is supported on the Windows 2000 platform. To maintain stability and performance, the Document Server must run on a dedicated host machine. The Siebel Server on this machine should host one instance of the Siebel eDocuments component group. No other components should be running other than required system components.
To support more users, you can run additional instances of the Siebel eDocuments component group on additional dedicated host machines.
Installing the Siebel Server
Install the Siebel Server on the dedicated host machine of the Document Server. For more information about installing the Siebel Server, see Siebel Server Installation Guide for Microsoft Windows.
During installation, you will have the option to enable component groups. Select the Siebel eDocuments component group. Do not enable any other component groups.
This step can also be performed after installation is complete, as described in the section Enabling the Component Group.
Installing Third-Party Applications
You must install Microsoft Word.
To install Microsoft Office
Log on to the server machine using the same user account that the Siebel Server NT service uses. This user account must belong to the Administrators group.
NOTE: The install must use the same account to be used by the NT Service. The installer configures COM security settings so that the installing user account will have the correct permissions to access and launch the application. If the install uses an account other than the Siebel Server NT service account, errors may occur when the Document Server tries to launch the application.
Install Microsoft Office using a Typical, or complete, installation. Verify that your version of Microsoft Office will install the Web Authoring Tools (HTML) component with the Typical installation. If it does not, you will need to use the Custom installation option, and install all of the typical components as well as the Web Authoring Tools (HTML) component.
Start the applications that will be used by the Document Server. This forces the applications to register themselves.
Close the applications.

Hardware requirements for OA 11.5.9 ....
I'm looking for hardware requirements for OA 11.5.9 on .... i want to install it on AMD Barton XP 3000MZ, 512M memory and 120GB hard disk on XP operating system ... please help me
I wait to receive yor opinion ...... pleaseThank you for those who replied me ..... I think I must give you more details ... This EBS instalation is for a small group of developers who wants to study this ERP for implementetion at clients site .... So, performance isn't so important ... all that I need is "to work"
I found out that I need more software - is this software for linking executables of products that I install?
I make download for resource kit which tell me -when I want to install it- that he needs by MKS Toolkit ... I must to wait to cantact me someone for this toolkit?
I read a very good documentation -short but comprehensive- from Liam Cooper
-http://mce.org.uk/liam/orahelp.tif-
Do you think that 512M ram and 120G on disk is enough? You think that for what I need is enough memory? I must remaind you performance doesn't matter ....
About diskspace ... how diskspace is needed for database -in the initial stage of usig this product- , how for middle tier - forms, reports and self-services applications?
I heard that EBS is on many CDs ... version 11.5.9 on how many CDs is relying?

Hardware requirements for virtualization
Hi,
Someone has experience about installing a 16 thin-client network or bigger using VirtualBox? I need to know what linux distribution did you use on server? what are the hardware requirements for the server? and what is your experience about performance on client side.
Please only answers from someone who has made this before.Just a few clarifications:
* VirtualBox needs to run on top of Solaris 10 U6. And this is the version that is distributed with VDI 3.0
* You get 4-5 VMs on a core with an average load. Find more information on the deployment guide:
http://wikis.sun.com/display/VDI3/Deployment+Guide
So for you case an 2 CPU quad core would be absolutely fine even if your workload is way higher

Hardware requirement for running exchange 2010 on vmware workstation
Dear Team,I need to create a exchange 2010 sp2 on a guest os on vmware workstation.kindly help me out with the physical hardware requirements for a home user
Hey Mukund26,
Before I answer your questions, my suggestion would be for you to figure out exactly what you want to get out of running that Exchange lab. Are you trying to learn Exchange features like DAGs? Are you trying to learn about virtualizing Exchange? When you figure that out you'll be better able to answer question 1 since you may not need all of those virtual machines.
Here are my thoughts on your questions.
1) It is probably technically possible to run 10 virtual machines on the configuration you have but you're going to have pretty bad performance. I would try to trim that down to only the virutal machines that you really need in order to use the lab how you want to use it. Here are some questions that may help you figure out what you need:
Why do you need two domain controllers? I don't think you need to worry as much about redundancy in your lab.
Why do you need 2 ESXi hosts and a vCenter? What purpose do they serve in this configuration? Are you trying to run the Exchange VMs nested under the ESXi VMs? If so, why?
Is there a reason why you want to separate out HTS/CAS from MBX in your lab? Combining all roles together can reduce the number of VMs you need. If you separate out the roles you'll need to allocate a lot of RAM to support all of those Exchange VMs.
2) Running a lot of virtual machines on a single 1TB SATA disk, especially a 5400 RPM disk, is going to be slow. It'll be especially painful when the VMs are booting up, rebooting, shutting down, etc.. Try to stagger the power on operations so they don't all boot at once. For example, first boot your DCs, then boot your HTS/CAS, then your MBX, etc. There is no doubt that configuration will be slow, so if you can get your hands on an solid state drive with enough space you'll have significantly better performance. For the purposes of a lab, though, it is probably ok if you can be patient.
3) I think the i5 processor will be just fine for this lab. Usually in a lab setting CPU performance isn't the most important thing so similar to above as long as you can be a little patient I think that CPU will suit you just fine.
As I said figure out what you want to get out of the lab and then you can determine how many VMs you need and whether or not you want to upgrade hardware. If you're looking to learn about Exchange 2010 in general I would suggest using multirole servers, getting rid of one of the DCs, and not worrying about virtualizing ESX/vCenter so that you can learn. If you're looking to learn about virtualizing Exchange 2010 on vSphere then let's figure out exactly what you want to get out of it and figure out what you can learn using VMware Workstation and what you really need vSphere for.
Best of luck!
Matt
