Hardware Reset option

I am wanting to know if the hardware reset option under the general tab of the wlc 5508 admin gui is the same thing as just rebooting the wap. It doesn’t do anything to any configuration or it doesn’t reset it to factory defaults or anything similar, just reboots it? This is what i am looking for.

Yes, it will simply reload the AP.
Configs always come from WLC so you do not have to worry.

Good day, Please can you assist with my SPA1001 analogue phone adaptor. The unit is unresponsive to **** when dialed. ( It emits 4 beeps only after 1 second and there is no voice menu) The unit does connect to the network on IP 10.0.0.108, and I can ping the device. I can not visit the webpage at 10.0.0.108 either the basic or advanced html pages. I have tried dailing the ****779 etc etc(reset code) but this seem to do nothing. Intercept action of hardware reset button via acpid?

Hi there,
the wiki explains how you can change the behaviour of the hardware power button on your system to perform a certain action (for example /sbin/shutdown -r now for a clean system halt).
I was just wondering if the same can be applied to the reset button?

I don't think so, the reset button triggers a hardware reset, the OS has nothing to do with it (it works as soon as you power up the computer, and still after a full and dirty system crash that leaves no other option than euthanasia)

Hi Go to settings Email Accounts Delete Email Account then Re add acount back again If you have more than one Email Account do this with each one. Cheers Brian

You should be able to force it into recovery mode and restore it. Provided, that is, that it's not also activation locked. If there's an iCloud account set up on it with Find my iPod enabled, you're pretty much hosed.
You may want to try contacting Amazon to see if you can return it. Was it actually sold by Amazon, or by a 3rd party? Amazon is getting to be as bad as eBay any more with all the 3rd party sellers.
Amazon is NOT an authorized source for any Apple products. What you got was, as you have already figured out, a demo model. It was probably either liquidated along with the rest of the inventory from a brick and mortar retailer that went bust or possibly even stolen.

IPad unresponsive after iOS 8.02 update, doesn't show up in iTunes, hardware reset (home and standby buttons both held down for ten seconds) not working

I have a 32GB iPad mini that was purchased new in June of this year. A little while ago, I started the iOS 8.02 download while it was plugged into a wall socket using an official apple wall to USB plug and an official apple thunderbolt cable. I then left for 25 minutes to get some food.
On coming back, I discovered the iPad with a black screen showing the apple logo. I thought this was just an ordinary part of the update, it was restarting or something after installation, so I thought nothing of it. Then, after another minute or two, the screen flashed blue and then went completely black.
Puzzled, I waited for another second and the apple logo reappeared as if the iPad was restarting again. However, after a few minutes, this happened again. This has been going on for the last half an hour, and I was wondering has anybody experienced this before.
As I stated in the title, it won't show up in iTunes, and the hardware reset or whatever it's called doesn't work. Also, bear in mind I had issues syncing it with iTunes the night before and it also seemed to crash a few times last night, restarting the iPad and bringing it to the blank screen with the apple logo for a few seconds before going to the lock screen. That didn't happen at all this morning though.
The iPad is not jailbroken, however, it does have licenses for gba4iOS, which is still installed on it, and a VPN license installed on it by the Hola app, which I deleted but never bothered deleting the license for. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I updated my IPAD yesterday and have the exact same problem.
Itunes does not recognize my ipad. Home and standby also doesnt work.
Also have the blue thing every few minutes and the apple logo but it never goes beyond it.
Have you solved the issue?

Password reset option in Portal

Hi Experts,
I would like to integrate password reset option in between help and logout option in masthead.
The issue is:
1.how to integrate a link in Masthead which on clicking enables end user to reset Password?
2.is there any coding that i have to do for password reset?

I will try to address your questions as best as I can.
But what you're asking is too much I'm afraid.
It seems you're needing to learn the basic concepts of Portal development first.
And explaining all those concepts on a forum post is simple impossible.
Moreover, the component you're trying to develop is not an easy one to start with.
My advise to you is to first read some manuals or attend a few SAP training sessions on the
subjects:
- JAVA development
- JSP development
- Developing Portal components
Nevertheless, and trying to answer your questions as best as possible, here's some tips that I
hope can guide you the right direction (and again, if you don't have the basics, you
might not understand part of it):

It is not a "how-to" develop a portal component. It assumes you know that already.
I could not understand where to start from?
You need to develop a Portal Component on your NWDS (Netweaver Developer Studio).
On you NWDS go to
File > New > Project.
And inside that box, choose: Create a Portal Application Project.
Now you need to create the Portal Component.
Go with your left mouse button on the project you have just created and choose
New > Other > Portal Application > Create a new Portal Application Object
I would suggest JSPDynPage (here you can choose to create a JSP, Bean and a Java main class)
Where do we find the 1. portalapp.xml, 2. Implement the Bean, 3. PasswordChange.java, 4. PasswordChange.jsp, 5. Success.jsp, 6. Redirection.java?
You need to create all those JAVA and JSP objects yourself.
The bean is a JAVA class that you need to create as well.
The portalapp.xml is a file that is automatically created by the NWDS when you create a Portal Project.
Provides configuration information for your application - it is like a "business card" of the application itself.
And that "business card" will be presented to the Portal when deployed - saying "hello, I'm a Portal application
and this is what I have inside".

Password reset option difference b/w Oracle 11g R1 and R2

Hi,
I came to know that the password reset option is different comparing 11g R1 and R2. My understanding is as below.
For R1, you need to do a password reset for the user id separately and for the account access which that particular user id has access will be different.
For R2, if you reset the password for user id which will reset the password for user id and as well as the all the accounts which that user has.
Here is my Ques.
1) Let me know if my both above statements are correct.
2) Because When i click on home button in Identity self Service, i do see an password reset option as "account" and value as "Oracle Identity manager". i could see the same option even though if i integrate an application which is database related.
Also the doc for R2 says you have two options to do the password reset. Pls check 6.2) Changing Password and option 2. Let me know what is correct and what is wrong here.

Please find my answer with respect to OIM 11gR2
Suppose you are selecting AD from the drop down and resetting the password then 'Password Updated' task will be inserted into the process definition of AD
and propogated to the target system. It simply means you are changing UD_ADUSER_PASSWORD field in process form.
Even after doing this change you will be able to login with your old password
When you select value as "Oracle Identity Manager" then it is changing the user password at this instance. So the new password you are giving comes into effect for that user and you will be able to login next time with this new password only.Also 'Change User Password' task is inserted in all process definitions where this task with same name is present.
This is the real password change and the previous option you did is to change the value in process form for that particular account and propogate it to the target.

Password Reset Option

I have tried to register the password reset option in Sun Access Manager 6 2005 Q1 by giving the bind name/password for the same in the am console under services>password reset.
However, when I log in using my ID at the following url:
http://amserver.com/amconsole
(where amserver.com is the webserver where access manager is deployed)
and try to set a password hint, I get the error - "Unable to Set Attribute".
When I check the directory server logs, i see the error "cannot find attribute iplanet-am-password-reset-hint"
I have installed the Sun Java System Enterprise Edition and have installed Directory Server 5.2 and Access Manager 6 2005 Q1.
Is it possible that the password reset option is a part of the Identity Management Suite which is the reason why I am unable to use it with ONLY access manager and directory server?
Please - any help would be great on this one.

I was able to set the password reset questions using the user profile page after adding the following two classes to a user's entry.
iplanet-am-user-service
iplanet-am-managed-person
I have also defined the Bind DN in the "Services" section for password reset - with a user with rights = directory manager.
However, when i open https://hostname/ampassword and enter my user id, I receive a "User is not active" error!
Please advise how to go about this.

Based on your limited inputs, you can login to DC using built-in administrator account and open ADUC and reset the password of your custom domain admin account.
If you have no other administrator account, there is no Microsoft recommended way to reset the passwords for domain user accounts.

Reset option in UCMON

Hi Friends,
Here is the issue Iam facing " My client executed the Reclassification of Retained earnings Task. He Reset the RE task and re-executed it once again.It is sucessfully executed each time.
After that when we executed the Validation Task we got error message that "Total Assets Not= total Liabilities + Total Equity".
We found out that YTD of Retained Earnings on the Balance sheet (which was 2x).It might be because of executing the "RE task" twice.
I checked the SAP Help file ,it says Reset option should be used with justification and for Currency Translation Task.
we over come the Problem by executing the Data collection Task onceagain
I would like to know what the Reset option in UCMON will do.
does it only Resets the Status or it also Resets Data.
when we Reset the Task it is taking 15 min. to Reset.

Dear Suraj,
First Rest task never reset the data.
In your question, u have mentioned YTD RE is 2X because of executing the RE task twice.
Once when u executed the Re task first time in the system, automatically balance amount will be posted to RE account.
If you have done the same task again after restting the data, system never posts again the same document, because now the total is equals and no need to post the doc again.
Suppose if any changes happen in the data, then we will do Reset and execute the task again, in this case system will post the doc, but not the same doc erlier posted. t will be for the difference amount.
if system has posted the same document again, check your task and method again, to identify the error.
