Hardware Sizing for EBP, MDM Catalog
Hi,
This is for an SRM implementation project in extended classic scenario. The plan is to use all 3 components EBP, MDM Catalogs and SUS.
We are sizing hardware for a mid size company with around 10,000 employee base and USD 350 million of spend to be processed. With not more than 50.000 (X) Purchase orders annually, and therefor assumed Goods confirmation document and invoices to be 100.000 (2X).
We are using Quicksizer tool for sizing. Here are some of the areas which we need to validate-
1. Is there a benchmark or a recommended or empirical percentage (%) of total employee strength that will be concurrent users.
2. What can be the SAPS number range for EBP for a typical mid size company as described above. Any experience with respect to this would be helpful.
3. Quicksizer doesnt suppoer MDM catalog sizing. Any inputs on the same would be useful.
4. We are using EBP sizing template in quicksizer for SUS sizing with object data with respect to SUS. Is this the right approach.
Thanks for the assistance in advance.

MDM Server Password Parameter in SRM Web Service for SRM MDM Catalog 2.0
Hi Experts,
We have password set on our MDM server. I am little confused about how to define MDM server password parameter in external Web service Call structure in SRM System for SRM MDM Catalog 2.0.
Will Catalog webservice work, if we don;t define password for MDM server in webservice??if No, then please let me know how to define MDM server password in SRM websevice.
Any help will be highly appreciated.
Thanks,
ShivHi Shiv,
The MDM Server password is needed when you are changing Webdynpro UI Configuration.
For catalogs, all you need is the repository userid/password parameters in the call structutre.

SAP Hardware sizing for "User-Based sizing".
Short Text
User-based Hardware Sizing
Long Text
Dear SAP Support,
We would like to know the SAP Hardware sizing for "User-Based sizing".
Our queries is
1. In "User-Based sizing", What we have to consider,
the number of users are calculated in the basis of
Concurrent users in the system in a given point of time
or
total number of users logged into the systems in the whole day?
We have referred the SAP document "Sizing SAP System" and the above
point are not clearly mentioned.
Regards,As the document says there are number of possible definitions for "users" in SAP context...
For understanding assume that no of users logged to the system they consume different resources / areas in the system, some login to the system whole day but they don't work whole day, some user open multiple session to work while other open multiple session but they don't exactly work on it which means (every new session consume memory/resources) like you said their are concurrent users wherein they work and consume resources (SAP WPs)
So before finalizing the sizing first compare the both reports (user based, thorhgput) and read the advantages and disadvantages for both. You can also consult with SAP / Account Manager to help you
as per SAP document there's no point in counting no of pc's, laptops to calculate no of users

Thanks for your response. Yes, I am going through the doc.
Solution will be BW 7.4 on HANA. If you can give me what are the factors I have to consider will be very helpfull for me.
I already did sizing for standalone installation, but client is looking for Hardware Sizing for high availability system.

Hardware Sizing for SCCM 2012 R2
Hello,
I need your help to do Hardware Sizing for SCCM 2012 R2 environment (SCCM and SQL on same server) with 1000 clients. I have identified the Vm for this installation,
Kindly share the RAM, HDD (Partitions for OS, Data, Log etc..) and No.of CPU
Additionally kindly confirm SQL server 2012 SP1 requires any CU for SCCM 2012 R2 environment.Just an example...
At least 16GB RAM, 2 or more CPUs.
Basically your HDD configuration depends do you have fast disk or slow disk. HDD has to be fast, Johan has very good examples here:
http://www.deploymentresearch.com/Research/tabid/62/EntryId/115/Sizing-your-ConfigMgr-2012-R2-Primary-Site-Server.aspx
SQL Server 2012 SP1 doesn't require any CU for ConfigMgr 2012 R2. -

Hardware sizing for web dynpro
Hi All,
our users for the implementation of some new SAP (we have R/3 4.6C) modules want an UI more friendly. So we think to implement Web Dynpro (abap and java) on Web Application Server NTW 7.0 which make an RFC call to R/3 4.6c functionalities. How can we estimate the sizing of WAS NTW 7.0? How can we estimate the workload of web dynpros?
Thanks a lot for your help.
Regards,
BobHi All,
any idea about the sizing? More precisely we have SAP XI on Netweaver 7.0 and if possible we want to develop on it the Web Dynpros. So we want to estimate which is the workload of the Web Dynpros in order to review the hardware sizing.
Thank you and regards

Service hierarchy for SRM-MDM catalogi scenario
Hello,
We tried setting up the 'new' SRM-MDM service hierarchy catalogi. I've looked over some sdn threads already and read the SAP help http://help.sap.com/saphelp_srm70/helpdata/en/6b/7fb967f6cd4df0a5a9d5dec7e4aa72/frameset.htm. Both told me the service hierarchy should work in the SRM 'bidding/RFx' scenario. Since service hierarchy should work for RFx we continued trying setting it up but ran into the following problem:
Up on opening our service hierarchy catalogi it returns the following message 'Table is empty' and does not show us any items(mss hierarchy is enabled in the SRM-MDM UI configuration for this catalogi). If we change thé UI setting to 'products' the items do show-up in a 'flat' manner (without hierarchy).
- We've set up grouping in the SRM-MDM catalogi for these items
- We've set up an entry in the MSS hierarchy lookup table and assigned this entry some of the catalogi items
- We've not setup any MSS Hierarchy price
- We've setup the item types, the outline item is of type 'MSS header' the subtypes are of type 'Free Text' and the MSS hierarchy entry is of type 'MSS header' aswell.
- we've setup the hierarchy manually with testdata via the important manager (no pi/ix).
Could anybody confirm service hierarchy works in the RFx scenario (mss hierarchy enabled)? Is there something we've missed or are forgetting? Any other pointters are greatly appreciated.
Kind regards,
TimHello Masa,
We have not loaded our service hierarchy catalogi items from ECC nor SRM. We've manually set-up test-date via the import manager and data manager tools. This, as long as you set it up correctly, should still work in my oppinion?
For the UI configuration the service (mss) is enabled causing the 'empty table' line to show up. If we would change it to 'product' the items would show but in a flat manner.
Do you have any other pointers . F.e. what the item types should be (subitems: free-text and header: mss-header) and what the role of the mss-hierachy and mss-pricing table are and what we should do with those? We've configured grouping (main item, component item, substitute item ..) to enable hierarchy is this correct?
Ps. What does 'MSS' stand for, what does it mean?
Kind regards,

Hardware Sizing for Oracle Application Server and MapViewer
Hi all,
I need to develop an application using Oracle Application Server 10g and MapViewer. The applicaction will, basically, do thematic maps based on a search criteria. The estimative is that we will have 25 users simultaneously using it.
I´d like to have an idea about the hardware to support it.
Do you know where I can get this information?
Any documentation can help.
Regards,
Luis AugustoHi Luis,
It may depend on your database size, but I think at least you need to meet the minimum requirements for the Application Server. You can find additional documentation for the AS at http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/ias/index.html.
However I would suggest some extra memory, and if possible the better CPU that you can get. MapViewer will render the spatial features on the server side, and depending on your database size and number of features returned from the queries, this extra memory will help.
