Hardware Specs Calculator!

Dear All,
I need to know is there any website where i can find recommended hardware specifications for installing and running Oracle 10g Database. A calsulator type of thing. Like if the mention number of users is 200 and database size will grow up to 50GB in 2 years. Oracle replication will be implement. Server will be in UK and will be maintained in Pakistan. What should be the recomeded disk space and RAM and processor speed for this kind of setup?
Also please, we need to install apache, php, mysql and report server on the same server. kindly help me to discover the recomended hardware and expert opinion. Please.
Regards, Imran Baig

imran as i said IBM and HP or any others will help you more better then us cause they are expert for there own technology, they will ask you some questionnaire about yours current environment as well the future expansion in terms of users, data and its usage. You need to analyze those questionnaire on yours own disposal and revert them to appropriately ,upon those questionnaire they will size yours machine which is and will be best suited for yours organization in all terms like number of users, data, usage and yours own company budget allocation for that infrastructure.
You need to quote different vendors and get them feedback which you will definitely come to know what would be and should be the machine sizing.

  • Need suggestion on the entire hardware specs for running Oracle VM 2.2.2

    Hi,
I need some suggestion on the preffered hardware specs which can be given to a customer, he wants to run Oracle VM 2.2.2 or Oracle VM 2.2.1.
He has already used Cisco UCS with NetApp storage for OVM 2.2.2/2.2.1 and has being unsucessful with lots of issues creeping up. Thus now need suggestion on the hardware spec which is well tested and works fine with Oracle VM 2.2.2/2.2.1 and he wants to run Oracle Fusion Middleware on top of it.
Any poniters to it will be highly appreciated.

    Hi Avi,
thank you for that information !
Yes. But only for the UCS gear that uses the converged FCoE adapters. If you have standard Ethernet/FC adapters, then it should be OK.We do use the "M71KR-Q QLogic Converged Network Adapter" with UCS. According to you this is an unsupported combination together with OVM 2.2.1, right ?
Now the "Oracle VM 2.2 Validated Configuration Details" shows UCS B200 M1 with M71KR-Q as a valid configuration. Does 2.2 mean OVM 2.2.0 and this is supported, but 2.2.1 / 2.2.2 is not ?
Please clarify since this confuses me.
Best Regards and TIAAny news for me, please ?

  • Display Hardware specs for After Effects

    Hi,
For Mac Os the hardware specs are (and I'm not mentioning all the specs.... just a couple)
5GB of available hard-disk space for installation; additional free space required during installation (cannot install on a volume that uses a case-sensitive file system or on removable flash storage devices)
Additional disk space for disk cache (10GB recommended)
    14400x900 display
    OpenGL 2.0–capable system
I'm I crazy or should the display need minimal 1440x900? I mean ...14400 is a little bit to much isn't it?
Thnx for your time and attention.

    Hi Temi1
Please share the link on which you have notice this
As i have checked system requirement page
and it is showing the minimum requirement for display is 1440X900

  • Hardware Spec for SAP ISU 6 + CRM IDES 7

    Hi,
What would be a recommended hardware spec required to run SAP ISU 6 + CRM IDES 7 with atmost 4-5 concurrent users?
I plan to implement it using CentOS & SAP MAXDB.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Sumith

    Hi,
As the concurrent users seem to be less, you only need to ensure disk space (for an ERP and CRM IDES you would need atleast 600-700GB) along with appropriate page file size of approx 120-140GB.
    As for CPU/RAM: a 2 CPU/8Cores (Intel/AMD 2.08GHz) with 32GB RAM should do well enough.
However, if you plan to do the setup for productive environment please use the SAP Quick Sizer tool.

  • Recommended hardware specs for Reader in Android

What is the recommended hardware specs for Reader in Android? I would like to have smooth scrolling experience for scanned pdf ebooks with mathematical equations, images and graphs. Also keep the price low on my new tablet. Thank you.

Getting one of the latest devices would obviously give you the best performance, but any device which supports Android 4 or above should be good enough.

  • ASA 5545X hardware specs

    Hi,
I got my hands on a brand new asa 5545X. After reading on the hardware specs and comparing the real thing with my own eyes has got me into a confusion.
I can only access 1 core cpu with 6G of ram, however the specs says about 8 core cpu and 12G of ram. where is the remaining hardware hidden away ?
Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance Software Version 9.1(1)
    Device Manager Version 7.1(1)52
Compiled on Wed 28-Nov-12 11:15 PST by builders
    System image file is "disk0:/asa911-smp-k8.bin"
Config file at boot was "startup-config"
    asa-1 up 9 mins 46 secs
Hardware:   ASA5545, 12288 MB RAM, CPU Lynnfield 2659 MHz, 1 CPU (8 cores)
ASA: 6144 MB RAM, 1 CPU (1 core)
    Internal ATA Compact Flash, 8192MB
    BIOS Flash MX25L6445E @ 0xffbb0000, 8192KB
Can someone help me to understand this difference please ?

The ASA and IPS within ASA-X series shares CPU, RAM and Flash, and they are pre-allocated.
The 1 core and 6G of RAM is allocated for the ASA and the rest are allocated for the IPS.

  • Macbook hardware spec.

where can i find my macbook pro's hardware spec on this website...
i recently took it for repairs and want to check whether they changed any of the hardware on it.
    thanx

You can find your Mac's specs through System Profiler (Apple menu -> About this Mac -> More Info) or through other software.
To find your Mac's specifications you should go here and put in your Serial Number. Your Serial Number is either on the System Profiler pane or under Apple menu -> About This Mac -> Click twice on the Version number
-- And as Brody said of course don't put your serial here. Go to the link and do it.

  • Hardware specs for a 9iAS application

    Hi,
Where can we get some documents regarding the hardware details needed for the
    9iAS.
Suppose the scenario is like this:-
we have our 9iAS on an NT server, a maximum concurrent usage of the the deployed forms is predicted to be between 250 and 300, there are more than 100 different reports provided, the maximum records(on a 8iDS on different server) that it has
to handle is more than 8 - 10 lacs....
Would the specification below be sufficient for the 9iAS server:
64 bit RISC PROCESSOR 800 MHz or Intel Pentium III or more,
Main Memory 1GB RAM expandable to 2 GB or more,
Hard disk - 18 GB or more,
    100Mbps Ethernet interface
    Networking specs???
We saw many features about Oracle's partnership with Compaq, regarding database servers and RAC. Can we recommend
such Oracle partner's to our clients. Is there other DETAILED documents available in Compaq's or some other sites(Oracle partners), regarding
    deployment of Oracle applications.
    Thank you,
    Ranjith.

read the "A Capacity Planning Guide" at:
    http://otn.oracle.com/products/forms/techlisting.html#scalability
This should help you evaluate your middle tier needs.

  • How is the Hardware ID calculated?

I thought it used to be written down somewhere but I can't seem to find it...is there a writeup on the method for calculating the Hardware ID in ConfigMgr?
    SELECT Hardware_ID0 FROM dbo.v_R_System
    John Nelson #2

Hmm, well it's not official and it was 2005...but it's something:
    http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/eholtz/pages/2839.aspx
The HardwareID is a new discovery property that is made up of:
The serial number & asset tag from system enclosure (taken from the WMI Win32_SystemEnclosure class)
The serial number of the motherboard (taken from the WMI Win32_Baseboard class)
The serial number of the BIOS (taken from the WMI Win32_BIOS class)
If the computer is not a laptop, the MAC address from first enabled adaptor (Win32_NetworkAdaptorConfiguration) is also used.

  • SSM 7.0 Hardware spec details

    Hi,
The 5 page document Hardware and software requirements for SSM 7.0 lists on page 3 that Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) 6.x is required under the Application Layer.
Is this correct and if so what for?
Or is this just a typo and hang over from the spec for SSM 2007?
    I can't think of anything!
    Colin Cooper

    Hi Colin,
You must have an old version of a document, because that document isn't one of the official documents on the service marketplace, and there is certainly no requirement for IIS in the SSM 7.0 architecture.  NetWeaver CE provides the web server and Java Application Server needs for Strategy Management.
    Thanks and regards,

  • Acer Aspire M3641-X223W - Full Hardware Specs

Hi All, I've bought the Acer Aspire M3641-X223W about 6 years (?) back. Now i want to use it for my homeserver (maybe upgrade some things). But i need the full in depth specs of the hardware. I know the general specs (4GB RAM, 640HDD, RADEON 3450, Intel Core 2 Duo E5200), but especially the in depth specs of the motherboard i couldn't find. For example the manufacturer (if this is not Acer), type / etc.  Is there one overview where all the specs are mentioned? I could not find it that easy online or on the website of Acer. Thanks!

Not sure if the link below is your computer. http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compatible-upgrade-for/Acer/aspire-m3641 It probably is an Acer motherboard, but I really don't know if Acer has their own factory or if they contract it out to someone like foxconn,etc... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813186140 Note: My links are just guesses/examples and may not even be remotely accurate guesses. Edit: Even if that foxconn motherboard is similiar to your motherboard, Acer probably has it customized....so not all of the ports/headers would be accurate.

  • How do I find the hardware specs? (iMAC, PowerMac G3 and PowerPC)

For starters I have never used a mac before
We have some iMACs, PowerMac G3s and PowerPCs in stock which have had their HDDs erased (zero'd) so there is no OS installed.
I need to find the CPU type/speed & RAM size
Is there a boot cd I can load to determine this?
I assume there is no BIOS feature like in PCs where the hardware is listed?
    Many thanks
    Paul

A "boot CD" for a Mac is the Mac OS X installation disc that comes with it. You obviously don't have that... Mac's should always be sold with its original discs, but that's a pipe dream, I suppose.
The next best thing is a retail Mac OS X installation disc. These are the discs Apple sells "in a box" to owners of existing Macs in order to upgrade to the latest OS release. If you get one for Panther (10.3) or Tiger (10.4), startup from it by holding down the C key. When you get to the first Installer screen, go to the Apple menu and select +About This Mac+. That will tell you processor type, processor speed, and amount of RAM installed.
Make sure it's a retail disc. They are black with a silver X. Mac OS X installation discs that came with a particular Mac model (usually gray color) will usually not work on other models.
The current OS release, Leopard (10.5), would not be a good choice for this purpose because many G4 and below Macs cannot run it.
Tiger will work on all PowerPC Macs that originally had a G4 and have at least 256mb of RAM. It will also work on slot-loader G3 iMac (not tray-loaders), Blue and White Power Mac G3 (not beige), PowerBook G3 (only the model with FireWire) - not earlier G3 models.
Panther will work on all PowerPC Macs that originally had a G4 and most G3's that have at least 128mb of RAM, so it may be the best choice for this purpose.
There are some G3 Macs that need to have a firmware upgrade before running Mac OS X (even the installer) for the first time. This is particularly harmful to slot-loading G3 iMacs.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1395
If most of the Macs have a FireWire port, and you have an external FireWire drive, you should install either Panther or Tiger on that drive. Then you can boot each Mac from that external FireWire drive and run System Profiler to get more detailed information about the system. Mac OS X installations are generalized, so as long as a PowerPC Mac ran the installation, it should work with supported PowerPC Macs. Some Macs do not have FireWire. USB external drives are not bootable on most PowerPC Macs.

Why is my iphone 3gs only have 128mb RAM based on my AppBox pro application system info?

    The 3G has 128MB RAM.  If it's a 3GS, it has 256MB RAM.  Are you sure it's a 3GS and not a 3G?
