Yes I looked at this link but don't see the type of information I'mlooking
for.
My best guess for an optimal hardware platform at this point is the
following:
Intel box with 256 mb RAM, 10 GB disk with a 800 MHz processor.
Would appreciate any feedback on whether I'm over or under the target fora
production box running WLS.
thanks,
raj

Could you give me a link ?
I see minimum reqts but what I'm looking for is an optimal
configuration
for
a production server. Clearly a maximal config with more of everythingwould
work but I'm hoping to have an intelligent idea of where the 90/10
rule
would apply.
thanks for your help,
raj

  • Recommended hardware specs for Reader in Android

What is the recommended hardware specs for Reader in Android? I would like to have smooth scrolling experience for scanned pdf ebooks with mathematical equations, images and graphs. Also keep the price low on my new tablet. Thank you.

Getting one of the latest devices would obviously give you the best performance, but any device which supports Android 4 or above should be good enough.

  • Display Hardware specs for After Effects

    Hi,
For Mac Os the hardware specs are (and I'm not mentioning all the specs.... just a couple)
5GB of available hard-disk space for installation; additional free space required during installation (cannot install on a volume that uses a case-sensitive file system or on removable flash storage devices)
Additional disk space for disk cache (10GB recommended)
    14400x900 display
    OpenGL 2.0–capable system
I'm I crazy or should the display need minimal 1440x900? I mean ...14400 is a little bit to much isn't it?
Thnx for your time and attention.

    Hi Temi1
Please share the link on which you have notice this
As i have checked system requirement page
and it is showing the minimum requirement for display is 1440X900

  • Hardware Spec for SAP ISU 6 + CRM IDES 7

    Hi,
What would be a recommended hardware spec required to run SAP ISU 6 + CRM IDES 7 with atmost 4-5 concurrent users?
I plan to implement it using CentOS & SAP MAXDB.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Sumith

    Hi,
As the concurrent users seem to be less, you only need to ensure disk space (for an ERP and CRM IDES you would need atleast 600-700GB) along with appropriate page file size of approx 120-140GB.
    As for CPU/RAM: a 2 CPU/8Cores (Intel/AMD 2.08GHz) with 32GB RAM should do well enough.
However, if you plan to do the setup for productive environment please use the SAP Quick Sizer tool.

  • Hardware Requirements for Production Instance of  EBS R12 version (12.1.1)

    Hi All,
Can you please let me know, what is the Hardware Requirements ( like CPU's, RAM size and HDD size)for Production Instance of EBS R12 version (12.1.1) about 3000 users.
The production instance would be deployed on a Multi-Node architecture where in the Database and Concurrent Managers would be deployed in one box.
Forms & Web server (Application tier) would be deployed on a different box. It is proposed to have a minimum of two front-end servers with a hardware based load balancer for traffic management.
    Thanks,
    Venkat

My company have EBS R12.1.2 on LINUX system. We used HR, Finance, DW, ODI, Single sign on, Hyperion and peoplesoft.
we use two DELL R910 servers for production. one for EBS and ODI, another server for Peoplesoft, Hyperion, DW, ....
Our record indicate highest concurrent users are 1120 on EBS server. For EBS server I will suggest at least following configuration for more tan 1000 users:
    1. DELL R910 with 4 sockets in it. each sock may have 2 to 4 cores. Even this configuration sometime we still get server complain 90% CPU load warning.
    2. Min 64 GB RAM . 128 GB or 256 GB prefer.
    3. Redhat X86_64 version Linux . Prefer version 5.7 and up.
    4. PERC 6/E or H800 RAID card and connect to MD1000 or MD1120.
    5. One MD1000/1120 for database, and two for backup (1TB X 15 disks). Depend on how many days backup keep on RAID. Our EBS database data in one year grow from 60 GB to 350 Gb.
    6. dedicate tape backup library and server. Due to large amount of data.
    7. need Grid control (OEM) server to monitor all databases and application servers.
    8. for application server, you need at least two DELL R910 and run Microsoft Hyper-V in it better performance than VMware. Configure All EBS relate application servers on each R910 for redundant and load balance. I f you plan is 3000 users. You may need 4 DELL R910 servers. Anyway it can add later.
    9. same hardware configuration may need for staging/test application servers.
    10. If you want RAC or standby databses, you need more.
    11. For development staging/test database server, you may need similar configuration. We have four servers for that purpose.
    13. Don't forget ORACLE license you need purchase for database, application server and ....
    13. EBS solution is NOT cheaper. If you can do other way, think it first. NOT only hardware, man power also very expensive.

  • Need suggestion on the entire hardware specs for running Oracle VM 2.2.2

    Hi,
I need some suggestion on the preffered hardware specs which can be given to a customer, he wants to run Oracle VM 2.2.2 or Oracle VM 2.2.1.
He has already used Cisco UCS with NetApp storage for OVM 2.2.2/2.2.1 and has being unsucessful with lots of issues creeping up. Thus now need suggestion on the hardware spec which is well tested and works fine with Oracle VM 2.2.2/2.2.1 and he wants to run Oracle Fusion Middleware on top of it.
Any poniters to it will be highly appreciated.

    Hi Avi,
thank you for that information !
Yes. But only for the UCS gear that uses the converged FCoE adapters. If you have standard Ethernet/FC adapters, then it should be OK.We do use the "M71KR-Q QLogic Converged Network Adapter" with UCS. According to you this is an unsupported combination together with OVM 2.2.1, right ?
Now the "Oracle VM 2.2 Validated Configuration Details" shows UCS B200 M1 with M71KR-Q as a valid configuration. Does 2.2 mean OVM 2.2.0 and this is supported, but 2.2.1 / 2.2.2 is not ?
Please clarify since this confuses me.
Best Regards and TIAAny news for me, please ?

  • Hardware recommendations for Oracle server

I'm looking for hardware recommendations for a new Oracle database server. I'd like to have Active/Passive redundancy, so I imagine an external storage device is necessary. Does Oracle publish any hardware recommendations based on budget? I'm not sure what our budget would be but I can assume two database servers and a single external storage device in the $20k range.

Oracle does not publish any recommendations at all.
If they did, the recommendations would be based on load and expected performance characteristics, not based on budget.
Your best bet is to chose a vendor (Sun, IBM, HP, Dell) and ask them. Each of those vendors has a group that specializes in answering this kind of question.

  • Hardware specs for a 9iAS application

    Hi,
Where can we get some documents regarding the hardware details needed for the
    9iAS.
Suppose the scenario is like this:-
we have our 9iAS on an NT server, a maximum concurrent usage of the the deployed forms is predicted to be between 250 and 300, there are more than 100 different reports provided, the maximum records(on a 8iDS on different server) that it has
to handle is more than 8 - 10 lacs....
Would the specification below be sufficient for the 9iAS server:
64 bit RISC PROCESSOR 800 MHz or Intel Pentium III or more,
Main Memory 1GB RAM expandable to 2 GB or more,
Hard disk - 18 GB or more,
    100Mbps Ethernet interface
    Networking specs???
We saw many features about Oracle's partnership with Compaq, regarding database servers and RAC. Can we recommend
such Oracle partner's to our clients. Is there other DETAILED documents available in Compaq's or some other sites(Oracle partners), regarding
    deployment of Oracle applications.
    Thank you,
    Ranjith.

  • Minimum hardware requirement for Report server with 4 engines ??

    Hello all ,
Can someone please tell what is the minimun Hardware requirement to be able to run a Oracle 91 AS with report server having 4 engines ??
and where I can find this kind of documentation.
We have a Oracle9iAS Containers for J2EE running on a machine with under 1 ghz power and around 300 mb RAM
, but the report server seems to keep crashing ..
    Can anyone pls advice
    Thanks

    Hi,
For calculating the minimum hardware requirements, you may need to look at various factors:
    1. No of reports requests that need to be processed per second
    2. Whether all these requests are synchronous or asynchronous
    3. Response time required
    4. Type of reports - large amounts of data, large no of images, etc
    5. How much caching you are using
    6. No of queries in your report
    7. Simple / complex layout of the report
    and so on.
So just the information of 4 engines may not be sufficient for trying to calculate the hardware requirements. One useful reference point for you may be the Oracle9i Reports Scalability whitepaper:
    http://otn.oracle.com/products/reports/index.html
It lists the number of users supported on some pre-defined hardware configurations, and the average response time for the reports server.
You might also want to take a look at the paper on "Tuning Oracle Reports":
    http://otn.oracle.com/products/reports/htdocs/search.html?cat=SAP&col=ALC&submit=Search
However, it is also possible that your Reports Server is crashing due to some other problem (not the hardware configuration).
By the way, your RAM seems to be too low for Oracle9iAS installation. See the installation guide for minimum hardware requirements.
    Navneet.
